The Royal Kituro Rugby Club is pleased to invite you to its annual
Tom Morris Tournament.
The 44th edition of the Tom Morris Tournament will take place
on Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th May 2016, in Brussels (Belgium).
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the upcoming edition of
the tournament will be open to U17 players, meaning teenagers born in
1999, 2000 and 2001 can participate.
Opening the tournament to U17 players, allows teams to mix players from
the U16 and U 17 categories. This is a great opportunity for players to build
relationships between the different categories, thus preparing the younger
players for the higher category.
Please note that this tournament is also open to “barbarian teams” which are
composed of players selected from different rugby clubs.
Furthermore, the Tom Morris tournament is a European event. It usually
welcomes teams from Belgium, France, England, but also the Netherlands
and Germany. It will be a unique opportunity to meet players from very
different backgrounds and to compete against new teams throughout the
weekend.

Registration fee
One fee of 300€ is required per team, this includes the tournament registration as
well as lunch for the players and coaches on Saturday and Sunday.

Rugby players
Only U17 players, meaning those born in 1999, 2000 and 2001, may participate
to the tournament.
Teams are required to have 22 players. Please note that teams that are
composed of players selected from different rugby clubs can only consist of
boys born in 2000 and 2001.
In case of an odd number of teams present at the beginning of the tournament,
each team must assign 2 players (1 forward player and 1 three-quarter back
player) to form the XV Tom Morris team with a view to ensuring the smooth
running of the tournament.
Referee
We kindly request teams to be accompanied by a referee.
Pitch
The tournament will take place on an artificial pitch - IRB standards. Access to the
pitch will be strictly forbidden to players equipped with metal studded rugby
shoes. To avoid any problems, please inform your players. Thank you for your
cooperation in advance.
Players’ meal
Lunch will be offered to players (22 people), coaches (3 people maximum) and the
referee on Saturday and Sunday.
President Cocktail
A reception for leaders will be held on Sunday lunchtime to which representatives of
each team are kindly invited. This is a great opportunity to exchange contact
details, share experiences and celebrate the 2016 Tom Morris instalment. Referees
are also kindly invited.

Accommodation
Accommodation is at your own expense. For your convenience, you will find
attached a list of hostels and hotels located near the rugby club. We kindly
recommend you to book your accommodation as soon as possible.
Should you have any difficulty in doing so, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Additionally, we remain available if you need further information on the city and
possible activities on Saturday evening.
Registration
The registration form must be sent back to us as soon as possible, and by 29
February 2016 at the latest.
The first 16 teams to submit their registration will be registered (priority will be
given to non-Belgium teams).
With a view to ensuring the smooth organisation of the tournament, we kindly
request you to provide us with the following information:
- date of arrival in Belgium and means of transport,
- contact details of the accommodation you have booked,
- and the mobile phone number of a contact person for your team (attending
the tournament).
