And who is adequate for these things?” Guest speakers Candy Christmas is a third generation gospel singer beginning with her grandmother's siblings, The Happy Goodman Family. She recorded her first album with her family’s group, The Hemphill’s. Candy is a six GMA Dove Award winner and was nominated for Contemporary Album of the year in 1984 for her solo recording Heart Afire. Candy Christmas is the Founder and President of The Bridge Ministry, Inc. Candy has spent her life giving to others through music. She began her career as an adolescent, and quickly climbed to the top of the Christian charts. Later, she married and happily settled into family life, but she wanted a way to continue her ministry of giving. Her heart's desire is to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. That is what prompted her to start The Bridge Ministry in 2004. Blenda Wicker has served alongside her husband, Wayne, in various full-time Ministerial positions for the past 34 years. She is a creative and gifted speaker who shares her heart in a manner that will keep you smiling. This gift has opened many doors for her to minister in many local, state and national retreats and conferences including, Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Her gifting and varied background of ministry experience in leadership positions have made her service invaluable to planning committees for national denominational events. She has authored many programs that have been utilized by several states. Beverly Beard currently serves as the Director of Community Support at the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home in Sevierville, TN. Beverly received her Bachelor of Arts from Lee University and a Master’s in Counseling from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. She is a minister in the Church of God as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Before coming to SMCH, Beverly served as a Case Manager and later as a Mental Health Therapist at Hiwassee Mental Health Center in Cleveland, TN. Beverly is married to Dennis Beard and has a 2 year old son, Riley.
