Mark 16.1-8
When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought
spices, so that they might go and anoint him. 2And very early on the first day of the week, when the
sun had risen, they went to the tomb. 3They had been saying to one another, “Who will roll away the
stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” 4When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which
was very large, had already been rolled back. 5As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man,
dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6But he said to them, “Do not
be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not
here. Look, there is the place they laid him. 7But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead
of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you.” 8So they went out and fled from the tomb,
for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

* Affirmation of Faith
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son
our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day He rose from the dead; He ascended into
heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to
judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion
of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
* Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

My Master From a Garden Rose
Eleanor Daley
My Master in a garden lay, perfumed with spices rare,
for tender hands had laid Him there to rest amid the roses.
’Twas on a cross they laid him bare, and pierced His hands with nails,
that we poor men might live again and be with Him in glory. Alleluia!
My Master from a garden rose to go for us to heav’n,
and He will come and take us there, to be with Him forever. Alleluia, Amen.
Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer, 895
Lord in Your mercy. Hear our prayer.
George Frederick Handel
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, and hath redeemed us to God by His blood, to receive power,
and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. Blessing and honor, glory and
power be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. Amen.
* Doxology 94, with Alleluias

Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts! Praise the Spirit,
Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
* Gradual Hymn 303 The Day of Resurrection, vs. 1
The day of resurrection! Earth tell it out abroad; the passover of gladness,
the passover of God. From Death to life eternal, from earth unto the sky, our
Christ hath brought us over, with hymns of victory.

* Gradual Hymn 303 The Day of Resurrection, vs. 3
Now let the heavens be joyful! Let earth the song begin! Let the round world
keep triumph, and all that is therein! Let all things seen and unseen their notes in

* Hymn 327
Crown Him with Many Crowns Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne.
Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for thee,
and hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity.
Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed o’er the grave,
and rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save.
His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high,
who died, eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.
Crown Him the Lord of peace, whose power a scepter sways
from pole to pole, that wars may cease, and all be prayer and praise.
His reign shall know no end, and round His pierced feet
fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet.
Crown Him the Lord of love; behold His hands and side,
those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified.
All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me;
Thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity.
