Dear Family of St. John Vianney,
Querida Familia de San Juan Vianney,
For St. John Vianney, the doors of his tiny church of Ars
conveyed to those who passed by, the welcoming and
compassion of Jesus. His priestly heart always desired to
invite the people to taste and see the Lord’s goodness,
through the Sacraments. The hope that St. John Vianney
wanted to convey to the people in Ars was to identify
Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of the living God, who is
in our midst through the Sacraments.
Para San Juan Vianney, las puertas de su pequeña Iglesia de Ars comunicaban a todos los que pasaban frente a
ellas la bienvenida y la compasión de Jesús. Su corazón
sacerdotal siempre deseó invitar a la gente a gustar y
ver las bondades del Señor a través de los Sacramentos.
La esperanza que San Juan Vianney quería comunicarles
a los habitantes de Ars era poder identificar a Jesús como el

This weekend we celebrate the Solemnity of our parish
patron, St. John Vianney. Through his intercession we
seek to keep the doors of our Church and of our hearts
open, asking Jesus to inspire us, as we go out through
our Church doors, inviting others to come and experience
with us the goodness of the Lord. Happy Feast Day To
Us All!

Sacrament of Baptism for Infants and Children
Parents who desire to have their children baptized must
first contact Sonia Delgado, the Coordinator of Baptismal
Preparation, 407-855-5391 ext. 301. Parents must be
registered and active in the parish for at least three months.
Sacrament of Baptism for Adults
If you are an adult who has never been baptized and are
interested in becoming Catholic, please contact Jody
Breaud at 407-855-5391 Ext. 234.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Celebrated each year for individuals who have completed
the preparation program.
Sacrament of Marriage
Engaged couples should contact the parish office a minimum
of six month in advance in order to complete the necessary
preparation. At least one member of the couple must
have been registered and participating in the parish for
six months.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
Celebrated each Saturday from 3:30 - 4:30PM in the
Church. Seasonal Reconciliation services are also held
during Advent and Lent. Children preparing for “First
Reconciliation” must register at the Faith Formation Office.
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
The sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is celebrated
within Mass every third Monday of the month at 7:00
PM. [except December]. The Anointing of the Sick is
celebrated with all those whose health is seriously impaired
by sickness and old age and before surgery whenever a
serious illness is the reason for the surgery. In cases of
an emergency please call the parish office.

Sacramento del Bautismo para Bebés y Niños
Los padres que deseen bautizar a sus hijos, lo primero

Sacramento de la Confirmación

Offertory initiative helps St. John Vianney
battle water damage
La Iniciativa del Ofertorio Ayuda a
San Juan Vianney a Combatir el Daño del Agua
What began as a soggy mess became a lesson in the constructive power of Christian stewardship.
Heavy rains battered Central Florida throughout the
month of June, breaking through a roof at St. John Vianney
Catholic School, Orlando, and flooding one of two portable
buildings used for Kindergarten classrooms.
Through the good stewardship of parishioners and their
willingness to embrace the parish’s Offertory Enhancement
Initiative, the staff was able to swiftly respond to the damage and the unforeseen expense. Two offices in the Ministry Center
are now under renovation and will be converted into new
and safer classrooms for the kindergarten students.
“I am thankful and blessed to have such wonderful parishioners
whose generosity helped provide for our parish during an
unexpected emergency,” said Fr. Miguel Gonzalez, pastor.
Lo que empezó como un desastre causado por el agua, se
convirtió en una lección sobre el poder constructivo de la
administración cristiana de los dones de Dios.
Fuertes lluvias batieron la Florida Central durante el mes

del 2012. Un servicio de La Fundación Católica de la Florida central, el programa inspiró a los feligreses a contribuir con casi
$100,000 más que el año pasado en ese mismo período de tiempo.
“La Iniciativa para Incrementar el Ofertorio nos ha proporcionado además la oportunidad para mudar y remodelar

Florida, the program inspired parishioners to contribute
nearly $100,000 in additional offertory support compared to
the same time period in the previous year.
“The Offertory Enhancement Initiative has further given
us the opportunity to move and renovate many office
areas,” he added. “This will allow us to enhance the environment
so that our staff may better serve our parishioners’ needs
and continue to minister to those who walk through our
doors.”

How would you describe your faith today? A blazing
Fr. George’s Corner
fire, a steadily burning flame? A flickering candle? A tiny
spark? Is your faith all about you and God, or does it reach
out to others and the world around you? Today, as we celebrate the feast of our patron, St. John Vianney, the liturgy
and the memory of this wonderful saint challenges us to be
on fire with zeal. St. John Vianney was zealous, not only for
his own salvation, but, more, for the good of the souls of others. He poured out his entire being
in concern for the salvation of those he served. Today is a good day to reacquaint ourselves
with our patron saint. His feast offers us an opportunity to reignite the fire in our hearts for
“the good God” as Vianney would say, for our faith, and for the eternal good of others. Today let
us follow St. John Vianney out into “missionary territory” where the fire of faith needs to be
burning brightly.

¿Cómo describirías tu fe hoy? ¿Un fuego abrazador, una llama que arde ininterrumpidamente?
¿Una llama titilante? ¿Una pequeña chispa? ¿Es tu fe únicamente entre tú y Dios, o alcanza a los
demás y al mundo a tu alrededor? Hoy, mientras celebramos la festividad de nuestro patrón, San
Juan Vianney, la liturgia y el recuerdo de este maravilloso santo nos reta a estar en llamas con
entusiasmo. San Juan Vianney era muy ferviente, no sólo por su propia salvación, pero, más
aún, por el bien de las almas de los demás. El entregó todo su ser por la salvación de todas las personas a las que sirvió. Hoy es un buen día para familiarizarnos con nuestro santo patrón. Su festividad nos ofrece una oportunidad para volver a encender la llama en nuestros corazones por “el
buen Dios” como Vianney diría, por nuestra fe, y por el bien eterno de los demás. Hoy sigamos
a San Juan Vianney por el “territorio misionero” donde la llama de la fe necesita arder radiantemente.
