Rajeev Pillai, MD, FACC, FSCAI - Indiana Regional Medical Center
Indiana Regional Medical Center is excited to announce the opening of our new state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Lab! During a heart attack or other major cardiac event, time is critical. With each passing minute, more heart tissue is deprived of blood and deteriorates or dies, resulting in lives being cut short or dramatically changed due to loss of heart function. However, if blood flow is restored in time, damage to the heart can be limited and even prevented. With the opening of IRMC’s new Cardiac Catheterization Lab in September, we will be able to diagnose and treat patients in minutes, without delay, saving more lives and preventing serious heart muscle damage. Led by Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Rajeev Pillai, IRMC will offer: Emergent angioplasty for treatment of heart attacks Cardiac catheterization and coronary angiogram Coronary angioplasty and stenting (PCI) Internal cardiac defibrillator placement Pacemaker implantation Peripheral Vascular Disease diagnosis and treatment Rajeev Pillai, MD, FACC, FSCAI Interventional Cardiologist Interventional cardiologist Rajeev Pillai, MD has been performing high volume coronary interventional procedures since 2008. In his most recent position, he started, built and grew a heart attack care program in Virginia, rated several times as a Top 100 hospital in America. He brings his passion and experience to IRMC’s cardiology team, helping to save lives and stop them from being changed dramatically due to the delay in transport and restoration of blood flow during a heart attack. Dr. Pillai’s experience speaks for itself: Over 4000 cardiac catheterizations performed Over 1000 stent procedures Performs over 200 stenting procedures per year (national average is less than 100)* 35 minute average heart attack treatment time (national average is 60 minutes)* *Data reflects past 6 years ZERO emergent bypass needed due to stent procedure complications* Dr. Pillai also performs non-emergent cardiac catheterizations, as well as blockages in other circulations of the body such as legs, arms and kidney arteries. He believes in honesty, transparency of his work and above all doing the right thing for the patients and the community he serves. 119 Professional Center 1265 Wayne Avenue, Suite 206 Indiana, PA 15701 Phone: (724) 717-6417 Fax: (724) 717-6418
