Social Media Portfolio Putting The Soul In Social Media I could give you a list on what makes me so accomplished, but in our digital driven world, I’ve learned to use white space correctly and the power of being concise. When it comes to social media strategy and management, my number one rule for success? Tell a story. The only way your brand will truly connect and become engaged with its audience, is by sharing what makes your brand unique through carefully curated content. My name is Melissa Kimble and I am a Chicago-based social media manager, content creator and writer with over seven years of combined experienced in the Communications industry as a writer, publicist, and engagement strategist. I am customer service oriented (yes, even in the digital space that still matters) and believe in audience engagement as the driving force for any social media strategy. I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and I also serve as the Communications Manager of the Chicago chapter for The ColorComm Network: Women In Color of Communications. Currently, I am currently working as a Freelance Social Media Community Manager for Golin, on behalf of McDonald’s on the ‘Our Food, Your Questions’ campaign. I recently served as the Social Media Manager for Surprise Ride Inc., a monthly box of surprise activities for kids ages 6 - 11. I curated content, created and implemented strategy with social media calendars, while managing all of its social media channels. I create social media campaigns and features that foster customer loyalty for the brand, aid in boosting posts, and increase sales. During my time, the company neared almost 1 million in sales. As a member of the OFYQ Rapid Response team, I have been responsible for contributing to over 20k responses share about McDonald’s food and have raised customer perception by 43% since October 2014. Highlights: - - Grew Facebook fan page from a starting number of 427 fans to over 6.8k fans between October 2013 - December 2014 Generated 619.9k organic impressions for 2014 Created #WonderfulWednesday, a Social Media feature that highlights Mom + Parent bloggers; allows client to connect on a personable level with brand influencers www.surpriseride.com - Created social media outreach for Bros, a pilot presentation for a family comedy that centers around three brothers and their trials in love - Established a brand awareness across all channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and assisted with event promotion - Secured a digital focus group for the brand to act as official brand ambassadors - Social media efforts drove the presentation to reach 10k views in 2 months and helped to securing the show a development deal with HBO InclusiveDev was born in 2014 and launched with a partnership between BlackStarMedia, a brain trust and resource hub providing strategies for wealth building in communities of color through research, tool development and culturally specific entrepreneurial curriculum, and Dev Bootcamp Chicago to support local technologists of color.
