The Went Program...
On Behalf of Ryan Went...
Welcome to the Second Bull and Commercial Female Offering. These programs are backed by years of quality and reputation. The cattle, produced in
the Went program, are known nation wide for the ability to successfully produce
profitable cattle, with a tremendous maternal base.
The success and popularity of the composite bull has skyrocketed in the recent past. The ability for these cattle to generate pounds at weaning, cutability
and still generate added value in a replacement female has been unmatched.
The SimAngus or MaineAngus female or sire has a solid place in commerical
production. These cattle gain well, forage efficiently and have appeal to niche
markets. In addition, they have the potential to offer as much calving ease as
any breed or sire group.
The bull offering is impressive, to say the least. 21 sons or grandsons of Irish
Whiskey sell, 9 sons of Yellow Jacket sell plus several SimAngus and MaineSimmAngus composites sell. A powerful set of Heat Wave sons and grandsons
sell offering a tremendous set of bulls for clean up in the most progressive club
calf producing herds.
As a program, we are very excited about the female offering and our effort to
build on this in the future. This is a super stout offering of commercial females
with the potential to be leading club calf producers. Commercial cattlemen, pay
attention to the value in these cattle to build a solid cowherd with the influence
of some of the best maternal genetics in the country. They will sell in volume
and in groups of 3 to 10, depending on the group.
The cattle may be viewed anytime prior to sale day. Please give any of the
owners or sale staff a call, we will accomodate your purchasing needs in any
way. Remember, buyers of these bulls will have the opportunity to nominate
females for next years sale offering.

Elite Spring Open Heifer Calf
Went Yellow Jacket 101
Calved 3/21/11 • Composite
Lot SIRE: Yellow Jacket (Lifeline x Hoo Doo)
OCC General 794G (Rainmaker 654X x 709V) x VDAR Traveler 407
180 DAM:
- Retaining the right to one flush at the new owner’s convenience. Selling full
possession at sale time.
- Special Lot A comes from the Rory Went herd and is a featured spring heifer
calf right off the top of that program. This heifer calf is extra special and offers a
lot of potential as a major donor prospect. Yellow Jacket daughters have been
very successful and this is one the best to sell this year.
- Her dam is a top Angus cow that was hand selected by Wents from the JonesStewart Angus herd. She is a big bodied, stout made daughter of OCC General,
that is one of the best looking females at Wents. General is a maternal sib to
OCC Anchor, both being out of the legendary 709V, daughter of Cole Creek
Oscar.
- Take advantage of the unique opportunity in this lot. If you are looking for an
extra special individual to add to a top program, heifers like this are hard to
find. She has show potential prior to her career as a donor dam. Lot 180 will be
available for viewing at the sale.
