What is STOPiT?
•Smart Topics On Personal
iPad Technology
•Mandatory course for
students who have violated
the RUP/AUP or
classroom rules
•Provide additional
instruction for users who
need further training in the
area of responsible student
use of online and mobile
resources.
Why does CHS have a STOPiT class?
• Hold students accountable
• Teach acceptable technology practices and behavior
• Students may be tech savvy but have not been taught digital citizenship
• Students are connected 24/7
• Support classroom teachers and building principal

• Classroom teacher takes student’s iPad and gives to principal
• Principal gives the Student a “STOPiT” ticket • “Ticket” must be signed by a parent
• Student must attend assigned STOPiT class

• Digital Citizenship Curriculum
• 9 Themes of Digital Citizenship by ISTE NETS standards
• Project for each STOPiT participant that will benefit other students
• Projects implement mobile technology with Digital Citizenship
