Studio Fludd è un collettivo creativo
multidisciplinare attivo dal 2008 e
attualmente di base a Venezia.
Il gruppo prende il nome dall'alchimista
Robert Fludd, da cui assume la metafora
della trasformazione della materia vile
attraverso il processo empirico.
I progetti intrapresi finora sperimentano
miscele: dalla grafica all'illustrazione,
dalla stampa d'arte all'installazione
e design auto-prodotto, coniugando
percorsi formativi nell'ambito del design
con la formazione artistica accademica.
Filo conduttore della ricerca sono la
fluidità di approccio tra i linguaggi del
visivo e un particolare interesse per le
tecniche artigianali.

Caterina Gabelli (1984), Clara Giaquinto
(1986), Sara Maragotto (1986) e Valeria
Sanguin (1986).

Studio Fludd is a multidisciplinary
creative collective operating since 2008
and currentl y based in Venice.
The group takes its name from the
alchemist Robert Fludd and they both
share the aim to transmute base matter
through the empiric process. Most of
the undertaken projects experiment
with mixtures and combinations:
from graphic design to illustration,
from printing to installation and selfproduced design.
The leitmotif of its research is a very
fluid approach towards the visual
languages and a vivid interest for
craftsmanship.

SLOW
WOOD
UNCONVENTIONAL SANDWICH
Slow Wood è un giocattolo in legno per
comporre panini fuori dai binari della
ristorazione di massa.
Ingredienti tradizionali e meno sono stati
modellati in diverse varietà di legno e dipinti
a mano, per manipolare forme e gusti
immaginari in una scultura personalizzata.
Slow Wood propone una giocosa riflessione
sulla scelta e preparazione del cibo,
stimolando scelte non convenzionali e
associazioni impreviste.
Il prototipo è stato testato con successo
in laboratori per bambini, nel contesto del
progetto KidsRoomZoom presentato al
FuoriSalone di Milano nel 2011.
Slow Wood is a handmade prototype for
unconventional sandwiches far from the
mass catering. Both standard and weird
ingredients, made in different types of wood,
allow to manipulate shapes and imaginary
tastes in order to create a personalized
sculpture.
Slow Wood is a playful way to stimulate
alternative thoughts about the choice, the
preparation and the quality of food for kids
of all ages.
Slow Wood was in the kitchen of
KidsRoomZoom project at the 2011
FuoriSalone in Milano and has been tested
during several children's labs.
