I reiterate once again that promoting one’s business with commitment, professionalism and passion leads to achieving important goals, even if the macro-economy and politics are still a source of uncertainty for our country in 2014. The great participation of associates on all levels and their ability to interpret the Florim mission allowed us to complete projects that are ambitious in terms of complexity and fulfilment times, such as: renovating the Mordano plant, which became a benchmark for the production of big slabs and launching the new Fiorano logistics center, which supplements the traditional service area with the brand new vertical warehouse. In addition, the American plant renovation project has progressed, and is expected to be completed in 2015. The sincere and great participation in the Florim Gallery events, during the Cersaie, where we hosted some of the most noted Italians from around the world (Piero Ferrari, Massimo Bottura, Philippe Daverio), was a confirmation of the appreciation for our work and the incentive to create new initiatives. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who, with perseverance and humility, unfailingly contributes to the improvement of our company in its various areas to attain prestigious goals, which can be read in greater detail in this document. We hope you all enjoy reading this report Claudio Lucchese Chairman of Florim Ceramiche s.p.a 8 Sustainability Report 2014 Our Sustainability Report What it is The Sustainability Report is a periodic and voluntary reporting document which summarizes the Company’s results and activities, containing not only financial and accounting data but also integrating environmental and social aspects within a framework of overall sustainability. This type of initiative arises from the need to engage in dialogue with different target of people, defined as stakeholders, interested to know about the company activities that directly or indirectly affect them. By writing and distributing this tool, Florim can communicate with its stakeholders in a transparent way, explain the results we have achieved and share our future goals by focusing on listening, cooperating and constant improving. How it was drafted We have reached the Seventh edition of the Florim Sustainability Report, which is created annually to promote corporate social responsibility both internally and externally to the company. The contents of this edition, as in the past, were determined by using the themed sections and indicators suggested by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the most influential international guidelines for reporting environmental, economic and social sustainability, and the Gruppo Bilancio Sociale (GBS) (Group for Social Reporting) in the part concerning Value-Added calculations. The reporting indicators that were used classify this report as fulfilling application level C, based on the GRI definitions (self-declaration). This report includes all the companies in the Florim group, including the newly formed Maker, and uses the consolidated financial statements to aggregate figures for the whole group. The data listed in the second part is dedicated to our Italian offices while the fourth part consists of a Sustainability Report summary for Florim USA. The reporting process was co-ordinated by Florim’s Communications Department and supervised by the Finance department, with the valuable collaboration of various colleagues, in particular, the Management Control staff, Human Resources and Administration Departments. The GRI indicators contemplated in the various pages of the Report are listed on page 46 herein. Diffusion The 2013 Sustainability Report, also published in English, was widely distributed. Below are the main methods Florim has used: - providing a copy to all employees of the Italian and American companies, enclosed with their pay stubs - inclusion of the PDF files on the company’s Intranet site and the florim.it website - distribution to companies which are members of the Association “Aziende Modenesi per la RSI” (Modena companies for social responsibility) - sending it to local institutions and the relevant trade union representatives - sending it to the local and industry press during fairs and site visits - distribution to key clients and designers - sending it to the main domestic agencies/authorities/ associations involved in issues related to sustainability and the environment. More details are available in the pages dedicated to the accounting. Goals reached During the year, the subsidiary Maker s.r.l. started a complete renovation project of the plant, investing more than 25 million Euros for the production of big slabs and traditional ceramics, thus allowing work continuity for more than 280 employees. Continuous investments in green economy led to the completion of a new and more efficient ecological center in Fiorano Modenese, the installation of 449 LED lighting fixtures inside the Mordano plant and the partial removal of the cement-asbestos roofing from the production facilities. The purchase of the new location for the Milan showroom at Foro Buonaparte 14 was finalized, and the Flagship Store was moved there in late March 2015. As planned, the show room inside the International Departures area of the Malpensa airport was inaugurated in 2014 where Florim products are highlighted via an interactive mega-screen. For the same information in relation to Florim USA, see the designated section Sustainability Report 2014 19 Economic responsibility Comments on 2014 business data 2014 marks the sixth consecutive year of growth and improvement of all the fundamental indicators. Against a modest growth in revenue, the net profit recorded rose from Euro 35.7 million to Euro 36.4 million and EBITDA (or Gross Operating Margin) from Euro 73 million to Euro 84 million with an effect of 25.6% on sales. The continuous improvement observed in the last six years is a clear confirmation that the direction taken by Florim Group is the right one; the main ingredients of this success are expecially the selection of investments conceived with particular regard to cost factors and flexibility, the ability to offer high-quality ceramic materials, professionalism and reliability at all levels and the search for excellence. Once again, the positive economic data are flanked with a considerable improvement in balance sheet, where, despite investments for Euro 41.6 million, the net financial debts declined from Euro 96.5 million to Euro 54.5 million. Investments The largest part of the 41.6 million Euros invested in 2014 consists of the 25.1 million Euros for the renovation of Maker s.r.l., the description of which is given in the Focus below. Further important initiatives concerned the American plant of Florim USA where the second stage of investments, featuring the installation of new pressing and sorting lines was completed, and where more investments in the raw materials, kilns and sorting departments are undergoing in 2015. The IT systems department of the group’s headquarters, at Via Canaletto, was strengthened with the installation of a very advanced data storage system; furthermore, the work at the Florim Logistics center was completed along with the launch of the integrated management between the vertical warehouse and service areas for the preparation and shipping of material. FOCUS - MaKer The investments made in Maker are represented by the expansion of a facility that held the brand new technology for the continuous production of up to 160x320 cm ceramic sheets, along with a modern digital decoration machine and a new kiln. Furthermore, investments have been carried out in the production of traditional porcelain tiles through the installation of a PH 10000, new glazing lines and digital machines, as well as a latest generation kiln and three sorting lines. Investments in Maker will continue in 2015 to complete the part related to the processing the slabs and the traditional products. 20 Sustainability Report 2014 Value added The economic part of the Report is comprised of two schedules which demonstrate: 1. the measurement of yearly Value Added (which measures the wealth produced by the company) 2. its distribution among the many key stakeholders. Measurement of Value Added This section of the Report aims to offer a snapshot of values of the economic effects produced by company business. Therefore, the result is a representation of the wealth produced, centered on the formation of Value Added, which is perceived as the ability to create resources to distribute to the stakeholders interested in company activities. The schedule shows the following levels: • Gross Value Added (GVA), which is obtained from the difference between the production and the intermediate costs of production: - the total value of production is found by totaling the values of the proceeds obtained from the ordinary activities of the company - intermediate costs are the costs that do not represent remuneration of the internal stakeholders, such as raw material consumption, costs designated for services, and other charges • Global Gross Value Added which is the result of adding ancillary and extraordinary components to the characteristic Gross Value Added: - ancillary components (accessory charges and income) refer to wealth management and financial assets - extraordinary components (extraordinary charges and income) arise as a result of occasional events that are unrelated to ordinary activity, for example, capital gains and losses, out of period gains and losses. This certification attests to the company’s conformity to a set of standardized, international procedures that aim to improve the company’s internal environmental management system. Florim sought to obtain this recognition in order to reconcile quality with efficiency and productivity, while respecting the environment and the local area where the company works. • UNI EN ISO 50001 Thanks to a careful energy management policy and with the support of the recent investments in the production area aimed at better energy efficiency, Florim is the first ceramics company in the world to have obtained the ISO 50001 certification for the Energy Management System. Product Certification: • Ecolabel Ecolabel (EC Regulation 66/2010) is a certification which is granted to those products which, throughout their lifecycle, comply with ecological and performance criteria set at a European level and regards: mining raw materials, selecting suppliers, manufacturing processes, packaging, use and disposal. These criteria are periodically revised and made more stringent so as to foster continued improvement in the environmental quality. • Bureau Veritas – Recycled content Many ceramic tile series bearing the Florim brand have earned certification from Bureau Veritas for the high content of pre-consumption recycled material. These articles are fully eco-compatible and can meet the environmental sustainability requirements imposed by many international certifications. • Membership LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) In 2014 Florim registered again with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the most important association of industries in the building sector united for promoting the reduction of the negative impact of construction on the environment. To enable real measurement and accurate monitoring of the degree of sustainability achieved by a project, in 1999 the USGBC developed certification for designing sustainable buildings known as the LEED Green Building Rating System. LEED is one of the most recognized names in the international building industry and its certification is used in many international areas to verify and certify the sustainability of a building in its entirety, from the design phase to its day to day management (this is not product certification). Florim materials, as part of the system which constitutes the building, can help the building and the builder obtain LEED points in a number of areas. All data concerning each individual collection are made transparent and are available on the brand’s website. Sustainability Report 2014 25 • Greenguard In 2014, Florim obtained the prestigious Greenguard certification on all its products. Such environmental product certification, issued by the American UL Environment authority, has the aim of reducing the volatile organic compounds like ozone and carbon monoxide emitted by plants and materials used for interiors furniture. UL Environment thus aims at protecting human health through an air quality improvement and a reduction of people’s exposure to chemical and polluting substances. Florim has also obtained the GREENGUARD Gold Certification, which, thanks to an even stricter emission limit, certifies that the use of a given product is also acceptable in locations such as schools and healthcare structures. Environmental management The following numbers refer to the material stored in the warehouse as finished products to keep a constant and coherent reference in time. 2014 saw significant production of mixtures available for sale, which have no relevance to the report’s purposes, even though they constitute an important part of the water and energy consumption. Waste management The waste produced, except for what is recycled within the production cycle (greenware scraps, dust residues coming from filters, mud coming from treatment process and water purification), can be divided into: - - - - non-dangerous recyclable waste, such as paper and cardboard, fired scraps, plastic, glass and wood non-dangerous, disposed-of waste, such as that resulting from cleaning with motor sweepers dangerous recyclable waste, such as spent oil, batteries and monitors. dangerous, disposed-of waste, such as spent lime. Thanks to the recent installation of new packaging machines in all lines of the sorting department at Via Canaletto, 1,700,000 square meters of cardboard were saved in 2014, equaling 36% of the consumption using traditional packaging machines. Eco-green, photovoltaic performance indicators of Florim – Florim headquarters (Fiorano Modenese – MO) Energy management In the ceramics industry, the energy necessary to operate the production systems is quite intensive and has a direct and indirect impact on the local area and the environment. The main indicator used to measure the energy performance of the systems is the specific total average consumption of energy (TEJ) measured in GJ/t of product in stock. As you can see from the table below, this use is given by the total heat consumption (NGJ) and electricity used (EEJ). In this case, please refer to what was mentioned in the introduction to the environmental management related to the production of mixtures intended for sale. Thanks to all its efforts, Florim has been the first ceramics company to be awarded the prestigious ISO 50001 certification for energy management. The 16,000 square meter solar plant was recognized by GSE (Energy Management Services) among the plants with the most innovative features and, from its commissioning (October 2011) up to December 2014, it produced the following results. kWp kWh produced Kg of CO2 not emitted 2,700.21 9,084,525 4,823,883 Thanks to the investments made, the company was able to self-generating 62% of its total electricity needs. Polluting emissions The industrial production facility releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, essentially made up of carbon dioxide (CO2), whose main sources can be split into: - - combustion, from the burning of fossil fuels (such as methane gas) processing, caused by minerals contained in raw materials, from organic material contained in the clay used in making the tiles, from the presence of organic additives in the paste. In compliance with Directive 2003/87/EC (ETS - Emission Trading Scheme), in 2013 Florim began reporting and certifying the CO2 emission quotas. The Directive requires that every year companies certify the share of CO2 emitted during the previous year and that, by comparing this data with the quotas allocated by the Ministry of the Environment, they purchase any “missing” share from a special CO2 market. Below are the data certified by Florim starting from effective date of the Directive. CO2 emissions 2013 2014 102,728 t 103,462 t CO2 emissions (t) / Finished product (t) 0.33 0.33 Emissions from the production cycle 2013 2014 Particulate material 2.23 1.30 Lead 0.00 0.00 Fluoride 0.14 0.18 CO2 emissions (t) Florim vehicles More than 45% (in increase compared to 41% in 2013) of the vehicles used within the company are electric and do not directly emit greenhouse gases. All other vehicles have a catalytic converter. The company’s car pool also includes a “Full Hybrid” vehicle which can also work in electric mode only, with zero CO2 emission. 28 Sustainability Report 2014 Event dedicated to women – Florim Gallery (Fioriano Modenese - MO) Sustainability Report 2014 29 Social Responsibility Employees The employees are the core of Florim and represent the characterizing component of it, constituting its DNA. In 2009, the year when the great economic crisis began, Florim implemented several solutions for supporting of employees’ earnings. Below is a summary of some of the activities carried out in 2014. - Use of the Cassa Integrazione Guadagni Straordinaria in deroga (special supplemental salary fund) and Employee Solidarity contracts - An agreement with the Sassuolo Hospital under which Florim employees and their respective families may benefit from favorable rates and reduced waiting times for specialist visits and outpatient diagnosis, in the freelance professional system - Other CSR actions: • summer center for the employees’ children • agreements with local nursery schools • 65% discount on the purchase of Florim products for employees’ private houses. This table highlights how female employees in Florim are gaining increasingly strategic positions in internal management positions, a trend that the company is dedicated to encourage in coming years. In 2014, 25 people with disabilities, including 18 men and 7 women, were registered in the company’s staff. The distribution between men and women, taking into consideration the responsibilities dictated by the type of activity, reflecting the average of the industry. Considering clerks and middle management, men earn an average 10% more than women for jobs of equal responsibility. Among line workers, the difference is 7%. There are a total of 31 foreign employees in the company as of 31/12/2014: 26 in Florim and 5 in Maker. Incentives and bonuses Since 1992, as the first company in the ceramics industry, Florim drew up an internal contract (which was extremely innovative for its time) that included a variable annual bonus awarded to the workers in the industrial area and that was related to a number of economic and quality indicators (EBITDA, first quality yield, waste, and productivity). Nearly all the employment contracts of Florim employees are also regulated by company agreements, which supplement the National Collective Bargaining Agreement in the Ceramics industry. The areas being discussed with the employee and labor union representatives concern not only the strictly economic part, but also the continuous improvements to safety and the quality of the work, and the competitiveness and productivity of the company system (achieved through continuous professional training operations). 30 Sustainability Report 2014 Training Florim believes that in-house training plays a key role in the company’s development, a critical opportunity in these times of economic downturn and the best tool for the professional development of its human resources. More than 9,000 training hours were provided in 2014 to 412 persons, with an average of 22 hours of training per employee. The activated courses include new activities aimed at retraining the Mordano plant personnel. More than 141 employees were trained to use the new machines for the production of big ceramic slabs introduced with the investments made (total 1,920 hours). FOCUS – Master in Florim 3.0 Florim Master’s Degree returns after the success of the previous editions and reaches its third edition in 2014. Internal instruction is included in the Corporate Social Responsibility activities promoted by the company and has the aim of facilitating the encounter between young people and the world of work by means of a well-structured orientation activity. The educational path favors the acquisition of concepts related to corporate structure, territory and inter-disciplinary topics. 12 young people attended the last edition of the Master’s Degree.Almost all of them graduated in different Italian subjects and departments; they have been selected internally and integrated in the corporate context: school lessons, training, project works and analysis areas lead the educational path. The external and internal teachers have worked in tandem during the 26 weeks scheduled for the program to teach the dynamics and the connections of corporate processes, from product conception to market trading. The Master’s Degree included training and in-depth analysis in all corporate areas: from Lab to Production, from Marketing to Sales, continuing to all the administrative functions. In all, the company employed 26 young people, equaling 80% of the participants in the last 3 editions of Master’s Degree. The initiative’s prestige is reinforced by the economic context in which it is carried out, considering that Florim pays the students during the whole period. The project arose from the company’s willingness to hire new talent; it addresses the difficulties of employment of the young and it represents an excellent post-graduate orientation opportunity. The Master’s Degree obtained the sponsorship of many important departments of Italian Universities: DICAM – FISTEC – DIEF – ISIA – School of fine arts – IIS A. Volta. Safety and health Florim was the first Italian ceramic company to have attained the BS OHSAS (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series) 18001 certification from TÜV, an international reference attesting the presence of an internal management system oriented to health and safety in the workplace. This important certificate announces the company’s attention and its constant commitment to its employees. Every year, in addition to engineering controls and maintenance operations on machines in the plant, the company organizes several hours of safety training to raise awareness among employees and supervisors. Specifically, in 2014, 4,160 hours were dedicated to safety training. The slight increase in work-related injuries recorded in 2014 is mostly attributable to behavioral mistakes (distractions) of the employees. 75% of injuries, initially required less than 8 days of absence from work. No injuries are directly attributable to the technologies used in the company. A new defibrillator was added in Florim Logistics, to the previous three that were already installed in the company’s facilities. The BLSD refresher courses are continuously held for Florim employees trained in first-aid operations. Sustainability Report 2014 31 Employee welfare Summer Centers and Nursery Schools In 2014, in order to support the employees’ families, Florim renewed the summer camp project by extending it, as in previous year, to the workers at Maker also. When schools were closed for their summer break the children of Florim employees took part in two summer camps (Parishes of Spezzano and Mordano) and the participation fees for the children were paid for by the company. A new agreement with an English-speaking summer center for children aged 3 to 13 was signed in 2014. Since 2013 the company has also concluded a number of discounts with local nursery schools which now offer a number of spaces for employees’ children at a reduced fee. Job sharing In light of our ongoing promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility, Florim now offers job sharing for its employees, which allows a healthier work-life balance. Dedicated events Among the several events organized in Florim Gallery in 2014, some were specially designed for Florim employees. During the World Soccer Championship in June, for example, the games played by the Italian team were displayed on the 50-square-meter ledwall and the space was open to employees, families and friends with a cocktail offered by the company. Furthermore, on December 19th, took place the “100% Christmas Party”, organized for Florim employees to celebrate a year of great efforts and satisfactions. Whatch the video of Florim Christmas Party The Spezzano Parish Summer Camp (Fiorano Modenese, MO) 32 Sustainability Report 2014 Territory This chapter will include a series of initiatives that Florim addresses to the territory where it originated and where it has been working for more than 50 years. Fondazione Ing. Giovanni Lucchese Thirty years after the untimely death of Giovanni Lucchese – founder of what was then Floor Gres, currently Florim – and in order to honor his memory, his family established the homonymous Foundation, which funds entities and associations dedicated to support the poorest families in the district’s cities. The Foundation also carries out many initiatives, such as the summer center for the employees’ children, the Lucchese Prize and Florim health&training center described in the following focus. FOCUS - Florim health&training center The CSR principles are enhanced using a reference example that joins industrial culture and healthcare in an original manner for the benefit of the community where Florim and Ospedale di Sassuolo s.p.a. are based, the latter being a mixed public-private company running the key healthcare facility in the Sassuolo district. Florim health&training is the synthesis of this idea which materialized through an experimental center promoting research, training and advanced medical simulation in the area. The center Located in the Florim headquarter and inaugurated on April 16, 2014, the center extends over a 550-square-meter area, equipped with a modular conference room that can accommodate up to 100 people and several rooms where seminars and classes can be held. The intelligent core of the center lies in its sophisticated direction, where a wealth of technology allows controlling dummies in every possible way to reproduce human functions. The advanced simulation instrument is important to keep healthcare workers’ skills up-to-date, particularly for those dealing with emergency situations, especially in pediatric and neonatal resuscitation. Health meetings The Center, designed as a common space open to everyone, also aims at becoming a reference point to increase the culture of prevention in the population and their ability to perform first-aid maneuvers. After Florim employees were given a survey concerning educational needs and preferences, a Scientific Board of the Center - composed of the Sassuolo Hospital medical personnel - was appointed which, in turn, prepared a bi-monthly educational plan that includes several events called “Health meetings”. From its launch and up to the end of 2014, the Center hosted 4 meetings dealing with different topics which have registered about 350 people: employees, their families and people not working for the company. American Heart Association The American Heart Association (AHA) is the oldest and most authoritative voluntary American organization (known on a global level) dedicated to the fight against cardiovascular diseases and strokes. In the first few months of 2015, the AHA, via the Simaid International Training Center, conferred to Florim salute&formazione the qualification of an Authorized Training Site in basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation education to the health and education center. Watch the video Sustainability Report 2014 33 Research Partnerships In addition to the internal investments in research and development, Florim has focused on implementing new partnerships and collaborations with Schools and Universities to promote cultural exchange between the education and industrial sectors. At Modena and Reggio Emilia University, to whom Florim supplied materials for the ventilated façade of new Tecnopolo, it has been realized “Florim Laboratory”, which has been equipped with the new FLORIMAGE sensitive flooring project: a perceptive and interactive surface capable of detecting presence and movement. The innovative FLORIMAGE sensitive and floating pavement system is also the heart of “Cubetto 0”, the prototype of a new home domotics solution that’s currently undergoing testing at the Italcementi Research and Innovation Center. FLORIMAGE was also installed in the Salento University Engineering Department and it is shortly expected to be expanded and transferred to the MUST museum in Lecce. Partnerships developed in 2014 include Florim’s participation in some high-school, degree and post-degree courses such as the City Planning lab of the Milan Politecnico, the IUAV in Venice, the University of Florence and the ITS in Faenza. On a local level, Florim is committed to hosting several student internship working for 200-700 hours in different company areas. “Politecnico di Milano” Since the 2005/2006 school year Florim has been the official sponsor of numerous Vocational Training Courses of POLI.Design, the Milan Polytechnic consortium that manages post-graduation master qualifications. The sponsorship consists in scholarships assigned to students. The quality of the study program, the curricula and a number of individual interviews are the criteria used to select the most qualified candidates. Since 2012, thanks to our long-standing collaboration with POLI.Design, Florim hosted various meetings focusing on design in its Milan showroom which were dedicated to architects and designers of every nationality. Specialized lecturers from POLI.Design and the Politecnico di Milano ran various free workshops titled “Florim Design Experience”. These workshops were dedicated to developments in the Interior Design sector and aimed to offer new viewpoints on design culture as well as new approaches for the development of professional standards to designers most receptive and attentive to changes in the market and the role of design. The Ho.Re.Ca Design meetings held at the end of November, which issued course credits, were attended by more than 180 architects in the gorgeous setting of the Florim Gallery. Lucchese Prize The Lucchese Prize, at its twenty-seventh edition, was set up in the memory of Eng. Giovanni Lucchese, father of Florim’s current President and consists in some scholarships that are recognized to students from the Alessandro Volta State Technical Institute in Sassuolo, who graduated with the best high school diploma scores. Organized this year by Florim in liaison with Bologna’s Società Ceramica Italiana and held for the first time in the Florim Gallery, the award ceremony traditionally hosts a talk on current affairs and has welcomed a large number of keynote speakers over the years to address an audience composed of particularly attentive and receptive young people. Watch the Lucchese Prize video “Aziende modenesi per la RSI” On September 30th, 2014 the “Aziende Modenesi per la RSI”, an autonomous, open and inclusive association joining the companies of the Modena territory that believe in the principles and values of Corporate social responsibility and of which Florim is one of the founders, was established by means of a notary deed. The members of Aziende Modenesi per la RSI have already prepared a program of activities for 2015 and on December 5th they presented the main goals and initiatives for the future, at the “The enterprise and its core: economy, society and CSR” conference. 34 Sustainability Report 2014 2014 Lucchese Prize – Florim Gallery (Fiorano Modenese – MO) Sustainability Report 2014 35 Quality system Current ISO 9001 standards evolved from the definition that describes quality as the ability to satisfy explicit or implicit needs via a product or a service. CMCGC is a program designed to help companies learn and implement best practices in the area of environmental stewardship to sustain the local community’s resources through a series of free workshops taught by environmental specialists. The “green” company certification was awarded to Florim USA thanks to a number of initiatives. Chief of among them was the installation of a rain water collection system that uses otherwise wasted water for production processes. The company also issued reusable cups to their employees, eliminating wasted plastic water bottles. Environmental management system and eco-compatible products Florim USA’s products help builders meet the requirements for sustainable buildings defined by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) through the LEED Green Building Rating System. This protocol evaluates and certifies the environmental sustainability of a building as a unit, from its design to its day to day management. More specifically, many of the Florim USA’s product lines contain a significant percentage of recycled material (40% or more). This feature contributes to an increase in the LEED score in the projects where these tiles are used. In 2014 Florim USA, along with other North American tile manufacturers and the Tile Council of North America, developed a type III Environmental Product Declaration certified under the ISO 14025 standard. This life cycle analysis for ceramic tile also qualifies Florim USA’s products for LEED points under the new LEED v4 protocol. 42 Sustainability Report 2014 Environmental performance indicators – summary Below are the main environmental indicators related to the impact and performance of Florim USA during 2014 Material recycling Pre-consumer The recycled material process allows Florim USA to minimize environmental impact by reusing up to 45% of material that would otherwise be wasted or end up in landfills. • Cardboard recycling: approximately 121 tons of discarded cardboard was recycled. • Pallet recycling: 17 trucks loads of discarded pallets were recycled.
