Einleitung I Introduction
Carl Stahl begann 1880 als kleine Seilerei mit Produkten für
die Landwirtschaft und ist heute zum weltweit agierenden
Unternehmen mit 1.490 Mitarbeitern und 60 Stützpunkten in
Europa, Nord- und Südamerika, Asien sowie im Nahen Osten
gewachsen.
Carl Stahl started out in 1880 as a small rope maker specializing in agricultural products serving only local customers.
Today it has become a global enterprise with 1490 employees operating from 60 subsidiaries in Europe, North- and
South America, Asia and Middle East.

Umsatz- und Mitarbeiterentwicklung I Turnover and employees growth
Die Zahlen belegen es: Produkte von Carl Stahl sind weltweit
gefragt. Seit Jahren gehen die Zahlen bezüglich Umsatz,
Standorten und Mitarbeitern kontinuierlich nach oben. Vor
allem die neunziger Jahre standen bei Carl Stahl im Zeichen
eines rasanten Wachstums, das bis heute anhält. Der Umsatz
stieg von 1990 bis heute von umgerechnet knapp 30 Millionen
Euro auf über 260 Millionen Euro. Mit dazu beigetragen hat
eine Erweiterung der Produkt- und Dienstleistungspalette, die
wiederum zur Erschließung neuer Märkte und Zielgruppen
führte.
Durch Zukäufe und Übernahmen sowie die Gründung von
Zweigwerken verzehnfachte sich die Zahl der Standorte weltweit in den letzten vierzig Jahren. Der sprunghafte Anstieg
zwischen 1972 und 1997 erklärt sich durch die Gründung
zahlreicher Tochtergesellschaften im Ausland sowie in den
neuen Bundesländern. Heute ist Carl Stahl mit 60 Standorten
auf fünf Kontinenten vertreten.

Sales figures proof that there is a strong demand for Carl Stahl
products all over the world. In recent years figures regarding
turnover, subsidiaries and staff have been continuously rising.
Especially in the nineties the company grew rapidly, and the
growth still continues today. From 30 million in 1990 the
company turnover soared to over 260 million today. A wider
range of products and services has contributed considerably
to this success and also allowed the development of new
markets and target groups.
The number of Carl Stahl locations worldwide multiplied
tenfold in the last 40 years mainly by acquisitions and
take-overs, but also by founding new subsidiaries. The jump
between 1972 and 1997 is due to the foundation of many new
locations abroad but also in former East Germany. Today Carl
Stahl serves customers from 60 locations on five continents.

Willy Schwenger, Carl Stahls Schwiegersohn, tritt in die
Geschäftsleitung ein. Gründung der Niederlassung Stuttgart.
Willy Schwenger, Carl Stahl’s son-in-law, is joining the
company’s management. The Stuttgart branch is founded.
1968
Erweiterung und Neubau des Fertigungsbetriebes Süßen
(Werk I). Mit einem Umsatz von DM 1.050.000,- wird erstmals
die Millionengrenze überschritten.
New company premises in Suessen (plant I) are expanded
and developed. With DM 1.050.000,- worth of business, the
turn-over is exceeding DM 1 million for the first time.

Neue Corporate Identity. Alle Tochtergesellschaften tragen den Namen Carl Stahl in ihrer
Firmenbezeichnung. Im Dezember wird die 200
Mio. DM Umsatzgrenze überschritten.

X-TEND - Edelstahlseile von Ø 1-4 mm werden mit Klemmen aus Kupfer verzinnt, bzw. Edelstahl kraftschlüssig verpresst und bilden somit ein flexibles und transparentes Edelstahlseilnetz. Dieses zeichnet sich ferner durch eine hohe
Tragfähigkeit bei geringem Eigengewicht aus. Die Einsatzgebiete reichen hierbei von der einfachen Geländerfüllung
bis zum komplexen Flächentragwerk.
X-TEND– stainless steel wire ropes from Ø 1mm to Ø 4mm
are pressed with tinned copper ferrules and stainless steel
ferrules respectively and hence build a flexible and transparent stainless steel weave. The X-TEND mesh is characterised by a high load capacity and a low self-weight. The
applications range from a simple balustrade infill up to
complex structures.

Industrial safety for professionals
Mit praxisorientierten Lehrgängen zu zahlreichen Themen
erreicht die Carl Stahl Akademie an bundesweit fünf Standorten mittlerweile tausende Teilnehmer jährlich. Einmal pro
Jahr erscheint ein eigener Katalog, der die Fachseminare mit
Qualifikationsabschlüssen nach DIN-EN und BGV aufführt.
With practice-oriented trainings covering many different subjects the Carl Stahl Academy reaches thousands of satisfied
participants each year at 5 locations throughout Germany.
A special catalogue published once a year shows all activities and the qualified degrees according to DIN-EN and BGV.
Das Carl Stahl Seminarprogramm, das sich vorrangig an
Meister und Vorgesetzte richtet, die die Ausbildung zur
Befähigten Person erwerben, orientiert sich an vier Zielen:

The Carl Stahl Academy programme aims at foremen and
supervisors who want to participate in our training to become “qualified persons”. This training concentrates on four
focal points: Improve safety, avoid accidents, reduce costs
and have well-trained and motivated employees.

Zudem ist die Carl Stahl Akademie nach ISO 9001 zertifiziert.
Die Fachseminare werden mit modernsten Kommunikationstechniken in speziellen Schulungsräumen von 18 praxiserfahrenen Profis vorgetragen. Der dialogorientiert aufgebaute
Unterricht und die verständlich aufbereiteten Schulungsunterlagen beschleunigen den Lernerfolg, der sich sofort in
die Praxis umsetzen lässt. Negativ-Beispiele aus dem Alltag
schärfen zudem das Sicherheitsempfinden und motivieren zur
detailgenauen Anwendung des Gelernten. In vielen Firmen
konnte die Zahl betrieblicher Unfälle deutlich reduziert werden, weshalb die Berufsgenossenschaften die Seminare
empfehlen.

At the end of each seminar the students receive a qualified
degree. Our academy is certified according to ISO 9001. In
special training classrooms 18 professional experts share
their knowledge using the latest means of communication.
Our training is conversational and the concise instruction
material lead to fast progress, which can be put into practise
immediately afterwards. Bad examples are also shown to
raise safety awareness and the motivation to practically
apply what has been learned. Many companies could
reduce the number of accidents considerably. That is why our
seminars are recommended by the Accident Prevention &
Insurance Association (BG).

Mit der Gründung der Carl Stahl Akademie, basierend auf
dem langjährigen Carl Stahl Schulungs-Zentrum in Süßen,
und dem Bezug neuer und größerer Räume wurde das Weiterbildungsangebot über die Fachthemen hinaus ergänzt. Das
Programm umfasst Seminare für die persönliche und berufliche Entwicklung wie auch für einen sicheren und nachhaltigen Unternehmenserfolg sowie Vorträge mit hochklassigen
Rednern zu einem breiten Themenspektrum.
Based on the long-time experience with the Carl Stahl
Training Centre at Suessen, the Carl Stahl Academy was
founded in 2008. With new and larger rooms it was possible
to extend the range of seminars. The programme now
includes not only personal and vocational training but also
seminars for safe and sustainable corporate success. Highly
noted and certified specialists cover a wide range of topics.

When not used for trainings of the Carl Stahl Academy or
other events, the rooms are available for rent to the general
public.

Ambiente: umrahmt von attraktiver Architektur stehen hell
gestaltete und modern eingerichtete Tagungsräume mit
neuester Tagungstechnik für Gruppen von 10 bis 100
Teilnehmern sowie ein Vortragssaal für bis zu 160 Personen
zur Verfügung. Ein geräumiges Foyer und eine gemütliche
Cafeteria laden zum Gedanken- und Informationsaustausch
oder einfach zum Verweilen ein.

Framed by attractive architecture, several state-of–the-art
lecture rooms for groups of 10 to 100 people are available as
well as a big auditorium for up to 160 persons. A spacious
lounge and a cosy cafeteria invite to exchange thoughts and
ideas or just sit back and relax.
Historic treasures from our long ropemaking tradition can be
seen at the in-house museum.
