Mission, Tasks and Capabilities of the German Navy
Due to globalization, the increasing concentration of the
world’s population in coastal areas and Germany’s economic
dependencies, maritime forces will become more and more
important as a decisive instrument of security policy in
future conflicts and crises.
Especially for a resource-poor and export-dependent
country like Germany, the unimpeded flow of raw materials
and goods is vitally important.
Deutschlands Wohlstand hängt wesentlich vom Handel
über die Weltmeere ab. Der Handel über die Weltmeere
erfordert sichere Seewege. Eine starke Deutsche Marine
schützt diese Seewege.
Eine besondere Verantwortung hat die Deutsche Marine
damit auch für den Schutz der Hoheitsgewässer und der
maritimen Infrastruktur Deutschlands. Dazu gehören die
Seeraumüberwachung, die Abwehr von Seeminen und
Unterseebooten, der Schutz vor terroristischen Bedrohungen von See sowie der Such- und Rettungsdienst über See
und die Überwachung der Seegebiete gegen Meeresverschmutzungen. Die Deutsche Marine verfügt deshalb über
alle erforderlichen Fähigkeiten, um allein, streitkräftegemeinsam oder im Rahmen multinationaler Operationen
agieren und führen zu können. Sie ist konsequent an den
Erfordernissen des Einsatzes ausgerichtet. Sie stellt für
Einsätze leistungsstarke Verbände bereit. Gemeinsame Operationen von Heer, Luftwaffe und Marine werden von See
aus nachhaltig und wirkungsvoll unterstützt.
Schiffe, Boote, Flugzeuge und landgebundene Kräfte
der Marine können auch in verschiedenen Einsatzgebieten gleichzeitig eingesetzt werden. Dies dient der
Aufklärung, dem Schutz und der Überwachung der für den
Handel notwendigen freien Seewege, der Durchsetzung
eines Embargos oder der Wiederinbesitznahme von Schiffen, die beispielsweise von Piraten gekapert wurden. Die
Marine trägt damit entscheidend zur maritimen Sicherheit
Deutschlands bei.
Die Deutsche Marine ist traditionell in ein System internationaler Bündnisse eingebunden. Die Verpflichtungen
gegenüber den Vereinten Nationen, der NATO und der
Europäischen Union haben einen hohen Stellenwert. Vor
dem Hintergrund knapper Ressourcen wird die Marine die
multinationale Zusammenarbeit mit den Partnern weiter
intensivieren.
Im Zuge der Neuausrichtung der Bundeswehr wird sich die
Marine bis Ende 2015 zu einer Flotte entwickeln, die in der
Lage ist, dauerhaft auch in großer Entfernung vom Heimatland im streitkräftegemeinsamen, multinationalen Rahmen
auch unter Bedrohung vor fremden Küsten zu operieren
und humanitäre Hilfe zu leisten. So können dem politischen
Willen Deutschlands besonderer Ausdruck verliehen und
Krisen bzw. Konflikte bereits am Ort des Entstehens
bewältigt oder eingedämmt werden. Darüber hinaus
werden die Führungsstrukturen der Marine gestrafft, die
Entscheidungswege verkürzt und die maritime Expertise
zusammengeführt.
Zur Konfliktverhütung und Krisenbewältigung sowie zur
Erfüllung ihrer internationalen Verpflichtungen kann die
Deutsche Marine bis zu 1.000 Soldatinnen und Soldaten
durchhaltefähig für Einsätze bereitstellen. Durch innovative Technologien werden die Besatzungsstärken künftig
verringert und die Schiffe durch Mehrbesatzungsmodelle
effektiver genutzt. Eine modulare Zusammenstellung der
maritimen Einsatzverbände gewährleistet hohe Flexibilität
und weltweite Mobilität.

Trade across the seas requires secure lines of communication.
A strong German Navy protects these sea lines of
communication.
The Navy therefore has a particular responsibility for the
protection of Germany’s territorial waters and its maritime
infrastructure. This encompasses maritime surveillance, mine
countermeasures and anti-submarine warfare, protection
against sea-based terrorist threats, maritime search and
rescue as well as maritime environmental monitoring.
The German Navy therefore has all capabilities required
to be able to act and exercise command and control
independently, in a joint setting or in the framework of
multinational operations. It is consistently geared towards
meeting the operational requirements. It provides efficient
units for operations. Joint operations of Army, Air Force and
Navy are effectively supported from the sea.
Navy ships, vessels, aircraft and shore-based maritime
forces can be deployed simultaneously in different areas
of operation. This serves the purpose of reconnaissance,
the protection and monitoring of the free sea routes, which
are vital for trade, the enforcement of embargos or the
recapturing of ships previously captured by pirates. The
Navy thus makes a substantial contribution to Germany’s
maritime security.
The German Navy is by tradition firmly integrated into
a system of international alliances. Commitments to the
United Nations, the NATO and the European Union are of
major importance. Against the backdrop of scarce resources,
the Navy will further intensify multinational cooperation
with its partners.
In the course of the reorientation of the Bundeswehr, the
Navy will by the end of 2015 develop into a fleet that is
capable of operating sustainably, also far away from the
home country, in a joint, multinational context and under
threat off foreign coasts. This way, Germany‘s political
will can be given special expression and crises or conflicts
can be solved or mitigated at the scene. Furthermore, the
Navy’s command structures will be streamlined, the decisionmaking processes will be shortened and the maritime
expertise will be pooled.
For conflict prevention and crisis management and to fulfil
international commitments, the German Navy can provide
up to 1,000 service personnel for sustainable operations.
In the future the crew sizes will be reduced through
innovative technologies, and the units afloat will be used
more effectively by implementing multi-crew concepts. The
modular composition of the maritime task groups ensures
high flexibility and worldwide mobility.

Auftrag, Aufgaben und Fähigkeiten der Deutschen Marine
Die Globalisierung, die zunehmende Konzentration der
Weltbevölkerung in Küstenregionen und die wirtschaftliche Abhängigkeit Deutschlands führen dazu, dass maritime
Kräfte als ein entscheidendes Instrument der Sicherheitspolitik in künftigen Konflikten und Krisen weiter an Bedeutung
gewinnen werden. Gerade für Deutschland als rohstoffarmes und exportabhängiges Land ist ein ungehinderter
Rohstoff- und Warenverkehr lebensnotwendig.

Im neuen Marinekommando in Rostock als integriertem Führungskommando sind die Aufgaben, Kompetenzen und Verantwortung zusammengeführt, die
bisher durch den Führungsstab der Marine, das Flottenkommando und das Marineamt wahrgenommen
wurden. Von hier aus führt der Inspekteur die Marine.
As an integrated service command, the Rostock-based
Headquarters of the German Navy combines the tasks,
expertise and responsibility of the former Naval
Staff, HQ CINCGERFLEET and the Naval Office. From
there the Chief German Navy commands the navy.
Es trägt die Verantwortung für die personelle und materielle Einsatzbereitschaft, die Einsatzfähigkeit sowie
für die Dauer- und Dauereinsatzaufgaben der Marine.
The aim and central mission of the HQ of the German
Navy is to ensure the Navy’s operational readiness and
the operation of the fleet. The HQ of the German
Navy also includes the Maritime Operations Centre
which will remain in Glücksburg for an interim period.
Zum Kommando gehört auch das "Maritime Operarions Centre" (MOC), das für eine Übergangszeit noch
am Standort Glücksburg verbleibt.
Im MOC erfolgt 24 Stunden täglich vor allem die weltweite Führung der Flotte im Einsatz-, Übungs- und
Ausbildungsbetrieb.

Die Seekriegsmittel und landgebundenen Kräfte
im Ostseeraum sind mit ihren Marinestützpunkten
in Kiel, Eckernförde und Warnemünde der Einsatzflottille 1 unterstellt.
Neben dem Stab der Einsatzflottille 1 befinden sich
in Kiel das 3. und 5. Minensuchgeschwader. Zusätzlich befindet sich in Kiel das COE CSW (Center of
Excellence for Operations in Confined and Shallow
Waters), ein bei der NATO akkreditiertes und international besetztes Kompetenzzentrum für maritime
Operationen in Küsten- und Flachwassergebieten.
The naval assets and shore-based forces in the Baltic
Sea region are subordinate to Kiel-based Flotilla 1.
Along with the Flotilla Staff, the 3rd and the 5th
Minesweeping Squadrons are based in Kiel. Also
located in Kiel is the COE CSW (Centre of Excellence
for Operations in Confined and Shallow Waters),
a NATO-accredited and internationally staffed
competence centre.
In the medium term, the 5th Minesweeping Squadron
will be renamed 1st Support Squadron. In the future,
the squadron will be home to all six tenders as well
as two joint support ships (JSS) that are planned to
be introduced into service in the long term. It will
remain based in Kiel.
Mittelfristig wird das 5. Minensuchgeschwader
aufgelöst und in das neu aufzustellende Unterstützungsgeschwader überführt. Dort sollen künftig
alle sechs Tender sowie zwei Joint Support Ships
(JSS), deren Beschaffung längerfristig geplant ist,
beheimatet sein.
In Eckernförde sind das 1. Ubootgeschwader und
das daran angeschlossene „Ausbildungszentrum
Uboote“ beheimatet. Die Marineschutzkräfte sowie die Spezialisierten Einsatzkräfte Marine werden
aufgelöst. Ihre Aufgaben werden in das zukünftige Seebataillon und das zukünftige Kommando
Spezialkräfte Marine (KS M) überführt.
Zur Einsatzflottille 1 gehören weiter das 1. Korvettengeschwader und das 7. Schnellbootgeschwader
in Warnemünde. Die Schnellboote werden bis 2016
außer Dienst gestellt.
Eckernförde is homeport to the 1st Submarine
Squadron and the associated Submarine Training
Centre. The Naval Protection Forces and the Naval
Specialized Forces will be restructured and remain
in Eckernförde as the “Naval Force Protection
Battalion” and the “Naval Special Forces Command
(KS M)”.
Flotilla 1 also includes the Warnemünde-based 1st
Corvette Squadron and 7th Fast Patrol Boat Squadron.
The fast patrol boats will be decommissioned by
2016. The naval bases in Kiel, Eckernförde and
Warnemünde are assigned to the Flotilla.

Korvetten sind für die Aufgaben in der Überwasserseekriegführung insbesondere in Randmeeren und
Küstengewässern optimiert.

Die Ausrüstung mit dem landzielfähigen Flugkörper
RBS15 MK3 ermöglicht erstmals in der Marine die
weitreichende Bekämpfung von Zielen an Land.
Bei der Konstruktion der Korvette wurde der Schwerpunkt auf die Überlebensfähigkeit im Einsatz gelegt.
Dies wird sowohl durch Minimierung der Radar- und
Infrarotsignatur, als auch durch redundante Ausführung wichtiger Anlagen und Geräte erreicht.
Das Flugdeck ermöglicht den Einsatz von Drohnen
und Helikoptern zur Seeraumüberwachung und -aufklärung über den eigenen Sensorhorizont hinaus.
They are equipped with land-attack capable RBS15
MK3 missiles, which, for the first time, provide
the Navy with a capability to engage long-range
shore targets. During the corvettes’ design phase,
particular emphasis was placed on enhanced
survivability during operations.
This is achieved both by minimizing the radar
and infrared signature and the redundant design
of important installations and equipment. The
flight deck allows the deployment of drones and
helicopters for sea surveillance and reconnaissance
beyond the ship‘s own sensor horizon.

Neben der für Schnellboote typischen Bewaffnung
mit Seeziel-Flugkörpern und Artillerie verfügen diese
Einheiten über das RAM-Flugkörpersystem.
Es dient der Abwehr von gegnerischen Flugkörpern
sowie der Bekämpfung von Luft- und kleinen Seezielen im Nahbereich.
Besides the typical weapon outfit with anti-ship
missiles and artillery weapons, these boats are
equipped with the RAM system. It is used to counter
missile threats and engage air or small surface
targets at close range.
Ein hochentwickeltes DV-System erlaubt den gleichzeitigen Einsatz aller Waffen.
Die Nutzung von Täuschkörpern sowie einer Anlage

A highly sophisticated data processing system
permits the simultaneous engagement of up to
five different targets.
The use of decoys and an electronic warfare
system provides a high degree of robustness and
survivability. The boats will be decommissioned in

Class 212 A
Die Uboote der Klasse 212 A verfügen mit ihren
auf Wasserstoff- und Sauerstoffbasis arbeitenden
Brennstoffzellen über ein außenluftunabhängiges
Antriebssystem.
Type 212 A submarines have an air-independent
propulsion system (fuel cells using hydrogen and
oxygen).
Ihre Signatur hinsichtlich Wasserschall, Magnetik, Radar, Infrarot und Druck ist im Vergleich zu
anderen konventionellen Ubooten sehr gering.
Für den Bau des Druckkörpers wird amagnetischer
Stahl von besonders großer Festigkeit und Elastizität verwendet. Hauptbewaffnung ist der neu
entwickelte, lichtwellengelenkte Schwergewichtstorpedo DM 2A4.

Jeder Ubootfahrer muss diese Ausbildungseinrichtung in Eckernförde durchlaufen.
Das zum 1. Ubootgeschwader gehörende Ausbildungszentrum Uboote (AZU) ist mit Simulatoren für Sensoren, Waffeneinsatz, Navigation
sowie allen weiteren schiffstechnischen Einrichtungen / Anlagen und einer Tiefensteueranlage
ausgerüstet. Alle Anlagen sind genauso wie an
Bord miteinander vernetzt, so dass neben dem
normalen Betrieb auch die Störungssuche und
-behebung unterrichtet werden kann.

this Eckernförde-based training facility.
The Submarine Training Centre, part of
1st Submarine Squadron, is equipped with simulators
for sensor and weapon employment and with all
other engineering facilities / systems including a
submarine control trainer.
These systems are interconnected in the same way
as the systems on board so that it is possible to
conduct troubleshooting along with normal
operational training.

Die Flottendienstboote der OSTE-Klasse sind als
hocheffiziente Frühwarn-, Fernmelde- und Aufklärungseinheiten konzipiert. Sie können sowohl
auf sich allein gestellt als auch im Verbund mit
anderen Einheiten und Dienststellen deutscher und
internationaler Streitkräfte operieren.
The OSTE Class Intelligence Vessels are designed
as highly efficient early warning, communications
and reconnaissance ships. They can operate both
independently and in conjunction with other ships
or agencies of german or international armed
forces.
Ausgestattet mit hochmodernen elektromagnetischen, hydroakustischen und elektro-optischen
Ortungsgeräten, sind sie in der Vergangenheit
bereits mehrfach mit großem Erfolg für Aufgaben
der strategischen Informationsgewinnung in
Krisengebieten eingesetzt worden.
Equipped with state-of-the-art electromagnetic,
hydroacoustic and electro-optical detection gear,
they have repeatedly been successfully employed for
strategic information gathering tasks in crisis areas.
Mit einem Aktionsradius von über 5.000 Seemeilen
sind die Flottendienstboote für längere Aufklärungseinsätze ausgelegt. Zusätzlich zur Stammbesatzung
können Fernmeldepersonal und Spezialisten für die
elektronische Aufklärung eingeschifft werden.
Die Boote sind in Eckernförde stationiert.

Alle Minenabwehreinheiten der Marine basieren

Die Hohlstablenkboote der ENSDORF-Klasse bilden
mit dem Fernlenkräumgerät vom Typ Seehund das

Das Einsatzverfahren sieht vor, dass bis zu vier
unbemannte SEEHUNDE mit aktivierten Minenräumanlagen vom Lenkfahrzeug aus ferngesteuert
werden.
Das Lenkfahrzeug selbst liegt dabei aus Sicherheitsgründen außerhalb des Minenfeldes. Es ist mit einem
Minenmeidesonar zum Lokalisieren von Ankertauminen, mit einer Lenk- und Überwachungseinrichtung für die vier Fernlenkräumgeräte, mit Einwegdrohnen SEEFUCHS sowie mechanischem Räumgerät
gegen Ankertauminen ausgestattet.

The SEEHUND drone is a compact minesweeping

Naval Special Forces
Die Spezialisierten Einsatzkräfte Marine bestehen aus
je einer Kompanie Kampfschwimmer, Minentauchern
und Boardingkräften. Die Soldaten sind hoch spezialisiert und müssen über ein hohes Maß an körperlicher Leistungsfähigkeit verfügen. Stationiert sind sie
in Eckernförde.
The Naval Special Forces consist of three companies:
combat divers, mine clearence divers and boarding
forces. The personnel is highly specialized and has
to be in superb physical condition.
Their range of tasks includes:

• clearing of mines and explosive ordnance on
land and at sea

The Naval Special Forces will be reorganized in 2014.
Combat divers will become an independent
command. Mine clearence divers and boarding
forces will be integrated together with the naval

Protection Battalion.

ihrer Mittelachse aufklappbar sind.
The Navy operates two twin-hull oil recovery ships
which feature a bow that can be opened along the
central axis.
A hinge construction at the stern enables the two
hulls to open by approx. 65 degrees, forming an
open triangle.
The oil slick is collected in the triangle and pumped
into the ship where it is separated from the water
and stored in onboard collection tanks.
Durch eine Gelenkkonstruktion am Heck können die
beiden Rumpfhälften so weit auseinandergefahren
werden, dass sie ein offenes Dreieck mit einem
Öffnungswinkel von ca. 65° bilden. Die in dem

Instandsetzungsphasen bei ununterbrochener
Präsenz des Schiffes im Operationsgebiet.
Diese Intensivnutzung bedingt zwangsläufig neueste
wartungsarme Technik, die für einen weltweiten
Einsatz ausgelegt ist. Da das Schiff mit nur noch
rund 110 Männern und Frauen auskommen soll,
wird in vielen Bereichen noch mehr auf Automation gesetzt.
This ship type is designed to deploy in the area of
operations for up to two years.
The concept, referred to as “intensive use”, promises
a doubling of operating hours between the major
overhaul phases with the ship being continuously
present in the area of operations.
Intensive use requires modern, low-maintenance
technology suitable for worldwide missions. As
the ship is planned to have a crew size of only 110
servicemen and women, the level of automation
will be further increased in many areas.
According to the new multiple-crew concept, the
ship‘s crew will change every four months with the
ship remaining in the area of operations. The first
ship to be commissioned into the navy will be the
Baden-Württemberg in 2016.

Die Troßschiffe dienen der Versorgung und Unterstützung von Schiffen und Booten in See und im Hafen. Je

Die DO 228 ist ein modernes Turboprop-Flugzeug für
den Kurz- und Mittelstreckeneinsatz.
The DO 228 is a modern turboprop aircraft for short
and medium range operations. As property of the
Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban
Development, the aircraft are operated by the Navy
on behalf of the Central Command for Maritime
Emergencies.
They are fitted with sea pollution surveillance
equipment. Using dedicated systems like radar,
infrared and ultra-violet sensors, microwave
radiometers and fluorescence laser sensors as well
as video cameras, pollution can be detected and
immediately reported to the Central Command for
Maritime Emergencies.
From there, further procedures will be coordinated.
The Nordholz-based aircraft can be employed both
at day and night.

Der Bordhubschrauber SEA LYNX ist einer der Hauptsensoren der Fregatten.
Jeweils zwei Hubschrauber und ein 18-köpfiges Team
aus fliegendem und technischem Personal können an
Bord eingeschifft werden.
The SEA LYNX shipborne helicopter is one of the
frigates’ main sensors. Two helicopters and an
18-strong crew consisting of flight and engineering
personnel can be embarked.
The equipment and armament of the helicopter
are optimized for anti-submarine and anti-surface
warfare. The helicopter acts as an extended arm
of the ship, enhancing the ship‘s capabilities by
its range, speed and flexibility. In addition, it is
employed for boarding operations during sea
surveillance missions. For anti-submarine warfare,
the SEA LYNX is equipped with a variable-depth
sonar for active and passive detection and armed
with up to two torpedoes.
Its secondary tasks include the transport of material
and personnel as well as search and rescue (SAR)
within a task group.

Das Schifffahrtmedizinische Institut in Kronshagen
bei Kiel ist die zentrale medizinische Einrichtung der
Marine. Neben der schifffahrtmedizinischen Kompetenz für die Flotte werden in der Tauchmedizin auch
Leistungen für die gesamte Bundeswehr erbracht.
The Naval Institute of Maritime Medicine, located in
Kronshagen near Kiel, is the Navy‘s central medical
facility.
In addition to providing expertise in maritime
medicine to the fleet, the institute provides services
to the entire Bundeswehr.
In intensiver Zusammenarbeit mit zivilen und
militärischen Einrichtungen des In- und Auslands
setzt das Institut Akzente in der maritimen Medizin
sowie in der Tauch- und Überdruckmedizin. Darüber
hinaus zählen die Arbeits- und Umweltmedizin an
Bord, die maritime medizinische Ergonomie und
die Marinepsychologie zu dem Leistungsspektrum.
Die insgesamt 81 Mitarbeiter, davon 58 Soldaten,
arbeiten disziplinübergreifend unter anderem
mit einem hochmodernen Druckkammersystem,
speziellen Diagnostikgeräten, Telemedizinanlagen
und einem Teamtrainer Schiffslazarett.
Für die Bereiche Tauch- und Überdruckmedizin,
Telemedizin und Krisenintervention durch eigene
Marinepsychologen hält das Institut eine Notfallbereitschaft rund um die Uhr vor.

In close cooperation with civilian and military
agencies at home and abroad, the institute focuses
on the field of maritime medicine as well as diving
and hyperbaric medicine. It‘s spectrum of tasks also
covers shipboard occupational and environmental
medicine, maritime medical ergonomics and naval
psychology.
The 81-strong staff, 58 of whom are servicemen
or women, work in interdisciplinary teams using
a highly modern hyperbaric chamber system,
specific diagnostic equipment, facilities for
telemedicine and a sick bay team trainer.
The institute provides a 24-hour emergency service
in the areas of diving and hyperbaric medicine,
telemedicine and crisis intervention, the latter
rendered by the institute‘s naval psychologists.

Die Marineschule Mürwik ist mit dem ihr unterstellten Segelschulschiff GORCH FOCK das Ausbildungszentrum der Offiziere und Offizieranwärter der

auf ihre verantwortungsvollen Führungsaufgaben als
Vorgesetzte in der Truppe vorbereitet.

training ship GORCH FOCK is the Navy‘s training
centre for naval officers and officer candidates.
Before and after university graduation, they are
trained and educated to meet the challenging
standards of responsible leadership required of
naval officers.

the profession of an officer and the classic elements
of seamanship, the Academy focuses on leadership

Sail Training Ship GORCH FOCK
Die GORCH FOCK dient in erster Linie zur Ausbildung der Offizieranwärter. An Bord erfahren sie in
der Praxis, was Seefahrt und Teamwork bedeuten.
The GORCH FOCK is primarily used for training
the officer candidates. On board they learn what
seamanship and teamwork is all about. It always
takes the whole team to master the ship. Everything
on board is manualy operated. The cadets use their
own hands to operate the 2000-square-metre sail
or to steer the ship. The officer cadets are no guests
on board who can be replaced by experienced
personnel if difficulties arise. As a matter of
principle, the ship is sailed and navigated by the
students. When the GORCH FOCK represents the
Navy, the Bundeswehr and the Federal Republic
of Germany, she is always on a peaceful mission.
Her task is to promote international understanding.
Das Schiff kann nur im Team beherrscht werden.
Alles an Bord funktioniert ausschließlich mit Muskelkraft. Die Bedienung der über 2000 Quadratmeter
Segel oder das Rudergehen erledigen die Kadetten
mit den eigenen Händen.
So sind vier Rudergänger nötig, um das Schiff auf
Kurs zu halten oder 90 Kadetten, um die schweren
Beiboote wieder an Bord zu hieven. Dabei sind die
Lehrgangsteilnehmer keine Gäste an Bord, die bei
Schwierigkeiten durch erfahrenes Stammpersonal
ersetzt werden. Die Lehrgangsteilnehmer sind
grundsätzlich diejenigen, die das Schiff segeln, es
zur See fahren.
Wenn die GORCH FOCK im Namen der Marine,
der Bundeswehr und somit der Bundesrepublik
Deutschland Flagge zeigt, kommt sie in friedlicher
Mission.

Die Marineunteroffizierschule in Plön bildet mit
Schwerpunkt zukünftige Maate und Bootsleute aus.
The primary mission of the Petty Officer School in
Plön is to provide basic military training to future
first and second class petty officers.
The focus of the courses is on theoretical and
practical qualification as a military superior.
Im Mittelpunkt der Lehrgänge stehen die
theoretische und praktische Qualifizierung zum
militärischen Vorgesetzten.

Naval Operations School
Die Marineoperationsschule in Bremerhaven ist die
zentrale Ausbildungseinrichtung der Deutschen
Marine für Taktik und Operation.
The Bremerhaven-based Naval Operations School
is the central tactical and operational training
establishment.
The school offers specialist military training to
all ranks in the areas of navigation, electronic
warfare, naval surface and naval underwater
warfare, mine warfare, air control, communications
and CIC operations. The Navy Tactics Centre primarily
serves the fleet in further developing tactics and
operational procedures. The task spectrum ranges
from simple radar exercises to complex operational
map exercises for naval HQs.
The Tactics Centre offers also a large number of
seminars on operational and legal issues, which are
often held in cooperation with civilian universities or
experts from the industry or the science community.
Hier findet die militärfachliche Ausbildung aller
Dienstgradgruppen für die Bereiche Navigation,
elektronische Kampfführung, Überwasser- und
Unterwasserseekriegführung, Minenkriegführung,
Luftfahrzeugleitung, Fernmelde- und allgemeiner
Operationsdienst statt.
Freiwillig Wehrdienstleistende und Soldaten auf Zeit
der Verwendungsbereiche Navigation, Fernmeldeund Operationsdienst absolvieren an der Marineoperationsschule ihre dreimonatige Grundausbildung, welche neben den infanteristischen auch
marinespezifische Anteile beinhaltet.
Das Taktikzentrum der Marine steht in erster Linie
der Flotte für die Weiterentwicklung ihrer Taktikund Einsatzverfahren zur Verfügung. Das Aufgabenspektrum reicht von einfachen Radarübungen
bis zu komplexen operativen Planübungen für
Marinehauptquartiere.
Das Angebot des Taktikzentrums wird ergänzt durch
eine Vielzahl von Seminaren zu operativen und rechtlichen Themenstellungen, die oft in Kooperation
mit zivilen Universitäten oder mit Personal aus der
Rüstung, Industrie und Wissenschaft belegt werden.

Die Marinetechnikschule in Parow bildet alle
Marinetechniker vom Mannschaftsdienstgrad bis
zum Offizier aus.
Insbesondere die für den Einsatz wichtigen
Fähigkeiten werden den Soldaten an Originalanlagen, Geräten und Waffensystemen nähergebracht. Auch zivil anerkannte Aus- und Weiterbildungen zählen zum Angebot der MTS.
All Navy technicians, from non-rated personnel
to officers, are trained at the Naval School of
Technology.
The training of mission-critical skills and capabilities
is carried-out with the current equipment and
weapon systems. The Naval School of Technology
also offers vocational education and advanced
training recognized in civilian life.
Hierzu gehören unter anderem die Ausbildungsgänge zum IT-Systemelektroniker, Elektroniker für
Betriebstechnik oder die Weiterbildung zum
Industriemeister Elektrotechnik, Fachrichtung
Nachrichtentechnik.

Naval Damage Control Training Centre
Das Einsatzausbildungszentrum Schadensabwehr
Marine in Neustadt / Holstein umfasst die Ausbildung in der Brand- und Leckabwehr, der
ABC-Abwehr, der Ausbildung von Schwimm- und
Helmtauchern der Marine, der Rettungsausbildung für Ubootbesatzungen sowie der Sanitätsausbildung im Sanitätsgefechtsdienst sowie in der
Tauch- und Überdruckmedizin.
The Naval Damage Control Training Centre in
Neustadt/Holstein provides fire fighting and
flooding control training, CBRN defence training,
scuba and deepwater diving training for naval
divers, submarine escape training, combat medical
training as well as diving and hyperbaric medical
training.
Der Kernauftrag des EAZS M besteht darin, die
Schiffs- und Bootsbesatzungen der Deutschen
Marine mit verschiedenen Team- und Einsatztrainings in modernen Ausbildungsanlagen an Land
wie auch an Bord der Einheiten in See als leistungsund einsatzfähiges Team auszubilden und auf
Einsätze vorzubereiten.
Qualitativ hochwertig, zielorientiert, praxisorientiert und international sind die Schlagworte, mit
denen das EAZS M seinen Beitrag zur Einsatzausbildung und Einsatzvorbereitung der Flotte, aber
auch im Rahmen internationalen Ausbildungskooperation leistet.
Zum EAZS M gehören zudem die beiden Taucherschulboote JUIST und BALTRUM, die für die Taucherausbildung sowie für die Unterstützung der Einsatzausbildung in See eingesetzt werden.

Centre is to train the crews of the German Navy to
become efficient and fully functional teams and to
prepare them for their missions. This is achieved
through different team and operational exercises in
modern training facilities ashore as well as aboard
seagoing units.
High-quality, practice and goal-oriented and
international – these are the catchwords describing
the Naval Damage Control Training Centre’s
contribution to the fleet’s operational and predeployment training and its activities in the area
of international training cooperation.

The Personnel of the Navy
Das Personal ist das wertvollste Gut der Marine.
It is the crew that makes a ship, a boat or an aircraft
an effective weapon system. Therefore, its people
are the Navy’s most valuable resource. The security
of our country largely depends on these women
and men.
In the future, the Navy will have 13,050 billets for
military and 1,670 billets for civilian personnel. In
addition, there will be up to 800 military service
volunteers, servicemen and women holding trainee
posts and reserve duty trainees.
Es sind die Menschen, die Strukturen zum Leben
erwecken, die die Leistungen erbringen, Erfolge
möglich machen und somit den guten Ruf der
Marine begründen.
Von unseren Frauen und Männern hängt ganz
wesentlich die Sicherheit dieses Landes ab.
Die Marine umfasst künftig 13.050 Dienstposten
für Soldatinnen und Soldaten sowie 1.670 für zivile
Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter. Hinzu kommen
bis zu 800 freiwillig Wehrdienstleistende, Soldaten
auf Schülerstellen und Reservedienstleistende.
Die Marine sucht qualifizierte und motivierte junge
Frauen und Männer, die sich den anspruchsvollen
Aufgaben einer modernen und hoch technisierten
Marine stellen wollen. Jährlich werden rund 1.700
Soldatinnen und Soldaten für die Laufbahnen
der Offiziere, Unteroffiziere oder Mannschaften
eingestellt.
