Compositeur autodidacte, Jacques Henry s'inspire essentiellement des travaux qu'il a pu
faire en collaboration avec des ensembles de musique contemporaine tournés vers l'improvisation, notamment le quatuor Novus et la compagnie d'Eustache, dirigée par Jean-François
Bovard.
Il est attiré par le théâtre musical, ou la musique théâtrale et son langage se veut très imagé. Dans
le cadre de son activité pédagogique, il a écrit un grand nombre de pièces pour divers effectifs
d'élèves.

Autodidaktischer Komponist, inspiriert sich Jacques Henry vor allem an den Arbeiten, die er
zusammen mit improvisationsorientierten Ensembles zeitgenössischer Musik machen konnte,
unter anderem dem Quartett Novus und der Compagnie d'Eustache, dirigiert von Jean-François
Bovard. Er fühlt sich vom Musiktheater mit seiner theatralischen Musik und der bildlichen Sprache
angezogen. Während seiner Lehrertätigkeit schrieb er eine Vielzahl Werke für verschieden grosse Schülergruppen.

Self-educated composer, Jacques Henry draws upon his collaborations with contemporary improvisation ensembles like
'Novus' and the 'La Compagnie D'Eustache', as directed by Jean-François Bovard.
He was attracted by musical theatres language which he feels is very picturesque. From the very early stages of his teaching
career, he composed works for his students and associates.

Quelques explications :
Certaines mesures sont non mesurées (écriture proportionnelle).
Elles se jouent selon le dessin en respectant plus ou moins la durée de la mesure. Les mesures 32 à 35 durent chacune environ 10 secondes.
Le trait placé derrière une figure de note signifie qu'il faut tenir cette note, proportionnellement à la longueur du trait.
Sons avec l’anche seule:
La hauteur notée est relative. Ces passages peuvent être joués plus bas ou plus haut. Il faut cependant respecter les intervalles notés, le dessin mélodique.
Doubles sons:
La note écrite sur la portée supérieure est chantée, en même temps que la note jouée. La hauteur écrite est prévue pour une
voix féminine ou une voix d'homme chantant en voix de tête. Il est possible pour un homme de chanter une octave en dessous.

Einige Takte sind nicht gemessen (proportionale Schreibweise).
Sie werden nach der Notenzeichnung gespielt, die Taktlänge wird mehr oder weniger respektiert. Die Takte 32 bis 36 dauern
je ca. 10 Sekunden.
Der Strich am Ende einer Notenfigur bedeutet, dass die letzte Note gehalten werden muss, je nach der Länge des Striches
länger oder kürzer.
Instrumentalstimme:
Die Tonhöhe ist relativ. Diese Passagen können höher oder tiefer gespielt werden. Die geschriebenen Intervalle und das
Klangbild müssen jedoch respektiert werden.
Doppelte Noten:
Die Note auf der oberen Notenzeile wird gesungen und gleichzeitig ausgeführt wie die gespielte Note. Die Notenhöhe ist zwar
für eine Frauenstimme bestimmt, oder auch für einen Mann, der mit der Kopfstimme singt. Es ist auch möglich, dass der
Mann eine Oktave tiefer singt.

Measures are played in a quasi rubato fashion, but still respecting the duration of the measure.
Bars 32 to 36 last around 10 seconds.
The line behind a note figure indicates that this note must be hold, in proportion to the line length.
Reed instruments:
The written height is relative. These passages can be played lower or higher, but must adhere to the notes intervals, and the
melodic topography.
Doubles sounds:
The note written on the upper line is sung in the same time with the note played. The pitch height is written for a female voice
or a male voice singing in head voice. A man voice may also sing an octave below.
