Topic: Let’s plant a seed
Subject Goals:
Students should be able to:
-learn what utensils you need for planting a seed (in L1)
-plant a sunflower seed in a pot
-water the plant
- help each other
- tidy up their desks

Linguistic Goals:
Students should be able to:
-understand the language used in the classroom
-know what utensils you need for planting a seed (in L2)
-remember the parts of a plant
-remember what a seed needs to grow
-be able to read the text on the blackboard
Materials and Equipment:
newspapers, broken pieces of a pot, pots, saucers, watering cans, soil, text on the blackboard, worksheet “We plant a seed”,
word cards; “soil”, ”water”, ”pot”, ”saucer”, ”seed”, stickers
Scheduled Progress
1. T: “What do you need to plant a seed?”
2. Children name the words “soil, “water”,
“pot” ,” saucer, “seed”. The teacher helps them if necessary
3. Children are labeling the utensils.
4. T: “Now let’s plant a seed.”
5. While one child is reading the text on the blackboard with the steps for planting a seed, the
teacher plants a seed in front of the blackboard.
6. Tt: Now, it’s your turn to plant a seed.”
7. The children plant a seed in a pot.They put the put in a sunny spot and water the plant.
When they have finished their work, they should tidy up their desks.
8. Children recieve a worksheet “We plant a seed”.
9. They read the text and draw pictures for each step.
Homework: Children are to finish the worksheet “We plant a seed”.

1. We put a newspaper on the desk.
2. We label the pot with our name.
3. We put a broken piece of a pot over the
hole.
4. We put soil in a pot.
5. We make a hole in the soil.
6. We put the seed into the hole.
7. We cover the hole with soil.
8. We put the pot on a saucer.
9. We water the soil.
10. We put the pot in a warm, sunny spot.
11. We water our plant every day.
