“Yes, it can”
“No, it can’t”
Materials and Equipment:
flashcards with pets (hamster, parrot, dog, frog, fish, budgie,cat, mouse), word cards ( swim, run, jump, climb, fly), worksheet
“What pets can do”, English exercise book, glue stick
Scheduled Progress
1. Children sit in a cicle.
2. The teacher asks the children what pets they know.
3. Children name the pets; the teacher puts the flash cards with the named pet in the middle of the circle.
4. The teacher introduces the words “swim”, “run”, “jump”, “climb”, “fly” by making gestures.
5. One child selects a verb and acts it out.
6. The other children guess what it is.
7. The children receive a worksheet. First the teacher gives an example:
“Can a (dog)( swim)?”
“Yes, it can”
“No, it can’t”
8. Together they do the first task:
T: “Can a hamster swim?”
Ch:“No,it can’t”.
T: “Make a dash (?)”
Ch: “Can a hamster run?”
Ch: “Yes, it can.”
T: “Make a cross”.
Ch: “Can a hamster jump?”
Ch: “Yes, it can”
T.:”Make a cross:”
Ch: “Can a hamster climb?”
Ch: “Yes, it can.”
T: “Make a cross.”
Ch: “Can a hamster fly?”
Ch: “No, it can’t.”
T: “Make a dash (?)”
9. The children work in pairs.
10. At the end of the lesson, the results are discussed and corrected.
11. The teacher asks them to stick the worksheet in the English exercise book.
