Uso previsto
ES
El reproductor multimedia es un aparato de reproducción
multimedia portátil que funciona con batería con una
memoria interna y ranura para tarjetas.
En este aparato puede reproducir archivos de sonido e
imagen así como fotografías y libros electrónicos. Además,
el reproductor multimedia dispone de un micrófono
incorporado para grabar notas y de una función de
calendario y reloj. El reproductor multimedia es también un
soporte de memoria USB portátil, con el que puede guardar
y administrar datos personales.
Este aparato está además previsto para el uso privado y no
para fines comerciales.
* Los archivos de vídeo sólo pueden ser reproducidos si los
procesa con ayuda del programa de conversión de vídeo
que se entrega.
Requisitos del sistema
Si desea conectar el aparato con un PC, debe cumplir con
los siguientes requisitos previos.
PC con puerto USB 2.0, a partir de Pentium P III Clase (se
recomienda P4) y 1 GB de espacio libre en la memoria.
Sistema operativo y programas:

Windows Vista®, Windows® XP o Windows®7

Windows Media Player 10 o superior.

Recomendaciones de seguridad
Lea este capítulo y todo el manual con
atención y siga todas las recomendaciones
indicadas. Así garantizará un funcionamiento
correcto y una larga duración de su
reproductor multimedia.
Mantenga este manual de utilización en un
lugar fácilmente accesible cerca del aparato y
guárdelo bien para poder pasárselo al nuevo
propietario en caso de transferir el aparato.
Póngase en contacto con nuestro servicio
técnico autorizado, si tiene problemas con el
aparato.
Seguridad de funcionamiento

El aparato no está previsto para ser utilizado por
personas (incluidos niños) con limitaciones físicas,
sensoriales o mentales o con falta de experiencia y/o
falta de conocimiento, por lo que deberán ser
vigilados por una persona responsable para su
seguridad y seguir sus indicaciones sobre cómo debe
utilizarse el aparato. Los niños deben estar vigilados
para asegurarse de que no jueguen con el aparato.

Siga las instrucciones de utilización del aparato que
desea conectar con el reproductor multimedia.

No coloque ningún recipiente lleno de líquidos, como
un jarrón, sobre el aparato o en sus alrededores. El

recipiente puede volcar y el líquido puede poner en
riesgo la seguridad eléctrica.

Mantenga el aparato sin humedad, goteos ni
salpicaduras. Evite la vibración, polvo, calor o rayos
solares directos para evitar el funcionamiento
incorrecto. La temperatura de utilización es de entre
5 y 40 °C.

No abra nunca la carcasa. Esto pondría fin a la
cobertura de la garantía y podría suponer daños al
aparato.

Tras el transporte, espere hasta que el aparato haya
adoptado la temperatura ambiente. En caso de grandes
diferencias de temperatura o humedad, puede formarse
humedad por condensación, que puede causar
cortocircuitos eléctricos.

No ponga ningún objeto sobre el aparato y no
ejerza ninguna presión en la pantalla. De ser así,
podría romper la pantalla. No seleccione la pantalla
con objetos punzantes, para evitar daños.

Si la pantalla se rompe, hay riesgo de lesiones. De ocurrir
esto, embale con ayuda de guantes de protección las
piezas rotas y envíelas a un servicio técnico. A
continuación, lávese las manos con jabón, para descartar
que haya podido tener contacto con químicos.

Instale sólo el cable USB incluido en el paquete de
entrega.

El aparato está sólo previsto para la conexión a un
ordenador con seguridad de conexión (Fuente de
Potencia Limitada, según la norma EN60950.

Ponga el cable de modo que nadie pueda tropezar
con él ni pisarlo.

No coloque ningún objeto sobre los cables porque
podría dañarlos.
Recomendaciones sobre la pantalla
táctil
El reproductor Multimedia está provisto de una pantalla
táctil. Para garantizar el uso óptimo de la misma, siga sin
falta las siguientes recomendaciones:
Utilización

No seleccione la pantalla con objetos punzantes o
afilados para evitar daños.

Utilice un lápiz óptico o el dedo.
Limpieza

Tenga cuidado para que no quede ninguna gota de
agua en la pantalla. El agua puede causar una
decoloración permanente.

Limpie la pantalla con ayuda de un paño seco y sin
pelusa.

No exponga la pantalla a los rayos solares ni a las
radiaciones ultravioletas.

No utilice ningún disolvente, limpiadores cáusticos
ni gas.

Para la limpieza de la pantalla, utilice únicamente
productos de limpieza adecuados, como productos
para limpiar cristales o monitores (vendidos en
comercios especializados).
No utilice el aparato en las siguientes situaciones:

mientras conduce un vehículo;

mientras camina por la calle;

cualquier situación o ambiente que exijan
concentración y atención.
Para evitar cargas estáticas, no debe utilizar el aparato
en condiciones extremadamente secas.
En casos donde haya carga electrostática, puede
ocurrir que el aparato funcione incorrectamente. En
ese caso, es obligatorio configurar de nuevo el aparato
en sus valores de fábrica.
Alimentación de corriente
Su reproductor multimedia tiene una batería de litio de alto
rendimiento y recargable integrada que puede cargar con el
cable USB adjunto conectado al PC.
Seguridad de datos
La alegación de reclamaciones por daños y perjuicios por la
pérdida de datos y los daños resultantes queda excluida. Tras
cada actualización, realice una copia de seguridad de los datos
en un soporte de memoria externo (p.ej., CD-R).

Compatibilidad electromagnética
En la conexión, deben seguirse las directivas de
compatibilidad electromagnética (EMV). Mantenga al
menos un metro de distancia respecto a fuentes de alta
frecuencia y magnéticas (televisores, altavoces, teléfonos
móviles, etc.), para evitar los fallos de funcionamiento y la
pérdida de datos.

Puesta en marcha
Carga de la batería de litio-polímero
Antes de poner en marcha el aparato por primera vez, debe
cargar la batería interna de litio-polímero al menos dos
horas.
La recarga dura aprox. dos horas.
 Encienda el ordenador
 Conecte el cable USB adjunto con la miniconexión
USB [9] del aparato.
 Conecte el otro extremo del cable USB en un puerto
USB del ordenador.

En la pantalla [6] del reproductor multimedia se señala con el
siguiente indicativo que el reproductor multimedia está
conectado con el ordenador:
Cuando, tras conectar el conector USB del puerto USB del
ordenador, el indicativo de batería indica una carga
completa, la batería está recargada.
El tiempo de carga aumenta si, durante el
procedimiento de recarga, reproduce datos en el
aparato.
El reproductor multimedia controla el nivel de carga de la
batería automáticamente y lo muestra con el aparato
encendido en la pantalla [6].
En caso de nivel de carga de la batería muy bajo, aparece el
mensaje Warning! Low Battery Voltage!.

Conectar los auriculares
El aparato es suministrado con unos auriculares estéreo.
 Conecte la clavija estéreo de los auriculares a la
conexión de auriculares [5]. Puede también conectar a
esta conexión un cable (no incluido en el paquete de
entrega) para la conexión a su dispositivo estéreo.
¡Atención!
El ruido excesivo al utilizar auriculares de
cualquier tipo puede provocar daños en el
sistema auditivo y/o la pérdida de la audición.
Ajuste el volumen antes de la reproducción en
su valor más bajo.
Utilice sólo los auriculares que se entregan con
el aparato.
 Inicie la reproducción con un nivel inferior de
volumen y aumente el volumen poco a poco, hasta
llegar a un nivel que le resulte cómodo.
Puede ajustar el nivel máximo de volumen a su
gusto. Lea para ello las indicaciones Volume limiter
en la página 38.

Inserción de la tarjeta de memoria
 Para reproducir imágenes, vídeos, textos y música en
una tarjeta de memoria Micro SD, conéctela a la
ranura para tarjetas [7] hasta escuchar un sonido de
ajuste. Los contactos metálicos indicar la dirección
de la pantalla.
 Para retirar una tarjeta de memoria de una ranura
para tarjetas, pulse suavemente la tarjeta y retírela.
No utilice la fuerza para introducir la tarjeta de
memoria. Las tarjetas sólo pueden introducirse en
una dirección. La introducción incorrecta de tarjetas
de memoria puede dañar el aparato y la tarjeta de
memoria.

Funcionamiento
Si el bloque de teclas [3] se encuentra en la posición de
bloqueo , el aparato no puede utilizarse. Deslice el
bloqueo de teclas [3] en la posición para
desbloquearlo.
Encender el aparato
 Mantenga pulsado el interruptor de encendido y
[1] durante unos tres segundos. El
apagado
aparato se enciende.
No hay ningún título en el estado de entrega inicial.
Para transferir un título, lea las indicaciones del
capítulo “Funcionamiento con el ordenador” en la
página 44.

Se ilumina la pantalla MEDION

Se carga la lista de música.

Se muestra el menú principal.
Tras encenderlo, el reproductor multimedia se encuentra
automáticamente en el menú principal.
Apagar el aparato
 Mantenga pulsado el interruptor de encendido y
[1] hasta que la pantalla [6] de MEDION
apagado
esté visible.

Después, el reproductor multimedia se apagará.
Apagado automático (Power savings)
Si no utiliza el reproductor multimedia durante un
tiempo, el aparato se apaga automáticamente.
La configuración estándar es a los cinco minutos. En
el menú Settings, opción Power savings puede
establecer un tiempo diferente para el apagado
automático.

 Haga clic con el dedo en los símbolos del menú
representados en el borde de la pantalla para que
aparezcan los menús individuales uno tras otro. Para
que aparezca un menú, haga clic en el símbolo del
menú mostrado en el centro de la pantalla. Los

 Con las teclas -/+ [8] puede regular el volumen
durante la reproducción de música o vídeos.
 El volumen puede ajustarse entre 0 – 24 y se
muestra en el menú Music en el borde derecho de la
pantalla.
Puede ajustar el volumen máximo a su gusto. Lea
para ello las indicaciones que aparecen en Volume
limiter en la página 38.
Seleccionar y confirmar la
configuración
 Seleccione una entrada del menú. El submenú
correspondiente aparecerá o se aceptará la
configuración directamente.

Bloqueo de teclas
Con el bloqueo de teclas puede evitar que una tecla se
active por error o que se active la pantalla. Es útil, por
ejemplo, cuando escucha música mientras transporta el
 Gire el bloqueo de teclas [3] hacia la
izquierda.
 En la pantalla [6] aparece el símbolo del
candado en la barra de estado.

Mientras pulse una tecla, aparece en la pantalla [6]
el símbolo del candado .
 Para suprimir el bloqueo, gire el bloqueo de
teclas [3] en el sentido contrario a las
agujas del reloj. Desaparece el símbolo del
candado .
Reconfiguración del reproductor
multimedia (Reset)
Para volver a poner el aparato en la configuración de
fábrica, en caso de fallos, siga las siguientes medidas:
 Retire todos los cables de conexión, si los hubiera.
 Con ayuda de un objeto punzante, como un clip
estirado, pulse con cuidado la tecla Reset [2] de la
parte superior del reproductor multimedia.

Aparece el menú principal.
 Seleccione el menú Music y Seleccione el símbolo
del menú.
 Seleccione una de las siguientes opciones para la

Muestra todos los títulos de música disponibles en las
memorias interna y externa.
 Seleccione un título para comenzar la reproducción.
Artists
Seleccionar por intérprete un título disponible en la
memoria interna.
 Seleccione un intérprete y seleccione a continuación
un título para que comience la reproducción.
Albums
Seleccionar por álbum un título disponible en la memoria
interna.
 Seleccione un álbum y seleccione a continuación un
título para que comience la reproducción.

para la función de repetición [E] para ajustar las
diferentes funciones de repetición (ver Repeat en la
página 37).
Seleccionar la carátula del álbum
 Seleccione la pantalla de reproducción en el campo
de la carátula del álbum [A] para modificar el
indicativo de la carátula del álbum:

Se mostrará la carátula del álbum que esté guardada
en el título de música.
My Photo
Seleccione una imagen de la carpeta “Photo“ de la
memoria interna.

Mostrar el texto de las canciones –
LRC (Lyric Display Function)
Su reproductor multimedia soporta la reproducción de letras
de canciones sincrónicas a un tema musical reproducido.
 Seleccione un archivo de música en formato MP3 o
WMA para el que desea que se muestren las letras
de las canciones, como por ejemplo, el archivo
happymusic.mp3.
 Descargue para ese título un archivo de letras de
canciones en formato .lrc de Internet, como
happymusic-2004.lrc.
 Nombre el archivo de letras de canciones del mismo
modo que el archivo de música para poder vincular
ambos: En este caso, nombre también el archivo de
texto: happymusic.lrc.
 Copie el archivo de texto en el reproductor multimedia.
 Cuando reproduzca ahora el título de música correspondiente con el reproductor multimedia, los textos de
las canciones se mostrarán sincrónicamente en pantalla.
Su reproductor soporta sólo archivos de letras de
canciones en formato .lrc. Si las letras de las canciones y la
música no se reproducen sincrónicamente, esto no indica
un defecto del reproductor multimedia. Hay diferentes
versiones de títulos musicales y letras de canciones.
Verifique el archivo de letras de canciones y, en caso
contrario, descárguelo de Internet. Asegúrese de que los
archivos de letras de canciones y de música se encuentren
en la misma carpeta y tengan el mismo nombre.

Reproducción de vídeo
- Menú “Video“
 Encienda el reproductor multimedia. Aparece el
menú principal.
 Seleccione el menú Video y Seleccione el símbolo
del menú.
 Seleccione un vídeo. La reproducción comenzará
directamente.
Su reproductor soporta archivos de vídeo en formato
.avi. Al tener una resolución de imagen inferior, debe
convertir los archivos de vídeo (en una reducción de
escala a un tamaño inferior) antes de poder reproducirlos
con el reproductor multimedia.
Para la conversión, debe tener instalado en su PC el
programa disponible en el CD adjunto “MediaCoder
SE“. Puede encontrar más información sobre la
conversión con “MediaCoderSE“ Programa de edición
de películas MediaCoder en la página 48.

Seleccione durante la reproducción la imagen para que
aparezca la barra de reproducción, en la que puede ajustar

Reproducción de imágenes Menú “Photo“
Su reproductor soporta archivos de imágenes en
formato .jpg, .gif, y .bmp. Al tener una resolución de
imagen inferior, debe convertir los archivos de imágenes
(en una reducción de escala a un tamaño inferior) antes
de poder reproducirlos con el reproductor multimedia.
La resolución máxima es:
JPG: 5120 x 6820 px
BMP: 5120 x 6820 px
GIF: 320 x 240 px
 Seleccione el menú Photo y el símbolo del menú.
 Seleccione una de las siguientes opciones tecleando
la entrada correspondiente:
All Photo
Muestra todas las fotografías guardadas en las memorias
interna y externa.
 Seleccione una foto para iniciar la reproducción (la
reproducción depende de si ha seleccionado Manual
o Slideshow. La configuración actual se marca con
un punto amarillo).

Con el reproductor multimedia, puede realizar grabaciones
de voz con el micrófono incorporado.
 Seleccione el menú Record y el símbolo del menú.
Seleccione una de las siguientes opciones tecleando la

inmediatamente la grabación. Aparecerá el menú de
grabación.
La grabación comienza inmediatamente.

Recomendación
La grabación será convertida y guardada en el
formato de grabación seleccionado y, si fuera
necesario, comprimida. PCM es la señal analógica
digitalizada, pero necesita más espacio en la
memoria.
Los datos MS y IM ADPCM son comprimidos y
necesitan por lo tanto menos espacio en la memoria.
MS ADPCM es reconocido por casi todas las
versiones de Windows y puede ser reproducido en el
ordenador.
IM ADPCM es un formato de sonido que pueden
reproducir aparatos como los teléfonos móviles. Si
desea transferir grabaciones de estos aparatos,
seleccione el formato de grabación IM ADPCM.

Rate

Seleccione una frecuencia de muestreo para la
grabación. Puede configurar:
8000 Hz, 11025 Hz, 16000 Hz, 22050 Hz, 32000 Hz,
44100 Hz, 48000 Hz
Recomendación
Una frecuencia de muestreo superior conlleva una
mayor calidad de reproducción, pero necesita más
espacio en la memoria.

Menú “Time“
Su reproductor multimedia dispone de una función de reloj
y calendario incorporada.
 Seleccione el menú Time y seleccione el símbolo del
menú:
 Seleccione las flechas a la derecha y a la izquierda
del año para pasar a años anteriores o posteriores.
 Seleccione las flechas a la derecha y a la izquierda
del mes para pasar a meses anteriores o posteriores.
Recomendación
Para fijar la hora, lea en Set Time en la página 38 más
información.

En el menú Navegación puede hacer aparecer una lista de
todos los datos disponibles en la memoria interna o en la
tarjeta de memoria.
 Seleccione el menú de Navigation y el símbolo del

Funcionamiento con el
ordenador
¡Atención!
Haga una copia de seguridad de los datos,
dependiendo de la actualización, en la memoria
externa. La reclamación de daños y perjuicios
por la pérdida de datos y las consecuencias
resultantes quedan excluidas.
Conexión al ordenador
Si es posible, desconecte los auriculares del conector [5].
 Asegúrese de que el reproductor multimedia esté
encendido y conecte el pequeño enchufe con el
cable USB incluido en el paquete de entrega con el
conector USB del reproductor multimedia [9].
 Conecte el otro extremo del cable USB en una
conexión USB libre de su ordenador.
El ordenador reconoce que se ha conectado un nuevo
aparato y atribuye una unidad de disco al reproductor
multimedia.
No es necesaria la instalación de ningún controlador.
Una vez finalizada la transferencia de datos, puede poner
fin a la conexión al ordenador.

Sólo pueden copiarse o codificarse obras de las que sea
propietario o de las que disfrute de los correspondientes
derechos de utilización por medio de la propiedad o siendo
titular de los derechos de autor. Si se violan estos derechos,
existe el peligro de que la persona con estos derechos
proceda a hacerlos valer con la correspondiente
reclamación. Respete las normas legales relativas al uso de
música en formatos MP3/WMA. Puede ser informado al
respecto en la oficina responsable del asunto en su región
de GEMA o en Internet en el sitio web www.gema.de. Si
utiliza el aparato MP3 fuera de Alemania, diríjase a las
instituciones correspondientes responsables en la zona de
la protección de los derechos de autor y del sector de la
grabación musical.
Archivos en formato WMA
Su reproductor multimedia puede también reproducir archivos
en formato WMA, además de archivos en formato MP3. Algunos
codificadores WMA pueden evitar la reproducción de aparatos
portátiles por medio del DRM (Digital Rights Management). Con
el reproductor de Windows Media, a partir de la versión 7.0,
puede también replicar ciertos archivos y reproducirlos en su
aparato portátil.
Los archivos de música que necesitan un archivo de
licencia (DRM) para la reproducción, deben ser
transferidos con programas especiales (como
Windows Mediaplayer 10.0 u otros operadores de
MP3 para programas). Si el archivo de licencia no se

transfiere (como por ejemplo con la copia por el
explorador), el reproductor multimedia impide la
reproducción del título.
Intercambio de datos con el
ordenador
Tenga en cuenta de que debe tener libres 3 MB para
el sistema. De no ser así, el reproductor multimedia
no podrá ser encendido correctamente.
No interrumpa la conexión durante la transferencia
de datos.
Para la transferencia de títulos de música, los usuarios de
Windows Vista deben utilizar Media Player 11. Si ha instalado
Windows Media Player 10 o 11 (WMP 10/11) (en los sistemas
con Windows XP o Windows Vista), el ordenador reconoce el
reproductor multimedia como unidad de disco MTP. En esta
unidad de disco se encuentra la carpeta de música “Music“.
Si desea transferir música del reproductor multimedia,
cópiela en la carpeta de música.
Para reproducir o poder trabajar con archivos de
música en el ordenador, debe copiarlos antes en el
ordenador. No es posible la reproducción directa del

Si no tiene instalado Windows Media Player 10, puede
utilizar el reproductor multimedia como unidad de disco
externa para transferir datos. Tras haber desconectado el
reproductor multimedia de nuevo del ordenador, puede
reproducir archivos de música o transferir datos a otro
ordenador.
Puede transferir archivos sin protección con Arrastrar
®
y Soltar por medio del Explorador Windows . Los
archivos protegidos deben ser transferidos con la
correspondiente licencia.
Formatear el aparato
Antes de formatear el reproductor multimedia, haga
una copia de los datos en un ordenador o en otro
soporte de memoria. En caso contrario, se perderán
todos los datos.
Puede formatear el reproductor multimedia con Windows
Media Player. Conecte el aparato al ordenador y abra Media
Player.
 Seleccione el formato y comience el proceso.
No seleccione en ningún caso en el menú de
archivos NTFS sino FAT. De no ser así, el reproductor
multimedia no funcionará y deberá formatearlo de
nuevo.

Programa de edición de
películas MediaCoder
Instalación del programa
Con el programa que se entrega, puede convertir archivos
de películas para poder reproducirlos en el reproductor
multimedia.
 Introduzca el CD en una unidad de disco para CD
del ordenador.
Comenzará el asistente para la instalación
(“InstallShieldWizard“).
 Siga las indicaciones que aparecen en pantalla.
Una vez finalizada con éxito la instalación, aparecerá en el
escritorio del ordenador el icono del programa
MediaCoderSE.
Para la instalación:
 Confirme con Next.
 En el siguiente diálogo Instalar MediacoderSE: fije el
lugar donde desea guardar el programa.
 Haga clic en Change…, si desea modificar la ruta
propuesta.
 Confirme de nuevo con Next y en el siguiente
diálogo, seleccione Next para comenzar la
instalación.

 Por último, confirme con Finish para concluir la
instalación.
Si el proceso de instalación no se inicia
automáticamente (sin “Auto-Run“), acceda a la
unidad de CD y haga doble clic en el archivo
setup.exe.
Utilizar el programa
En el CD que se incluye en el paquete de entrega,
encontrará un programa para convertir archivos de vídeo.
Puede utilizar este programa para convertir archivos MPG,
MPG4, ASF, AVI y WMV en el formato AVI soportado. Los
vídeos en otros formatos (como los vídeos con una
resolución de 220x176 Pixeles) no serán reproducidos.
El codificador MediaCoder se instalará al abrir el archivo
SETUP.EXE en su ordenador. Tras la instalación del
programa, siga los pasos siguientes:

Haga doble clic en el icono del programa. Aparece la
ventana del programa:

El reproductor multimedia no es reconocido por el

¿Están bien conectados el cable y el aparato?
 Compruebe en el administrador de dispositivos de
Windows si el reproductor multimedia está bien
conectado. Vuelva a conectar el controlador USB.
Retire todos los demás aparatos USB, a modo de
prueba.
Los archivos no se muestran correctamente en el
reproductor multimedia:

En el reproductor multimedia no se muestra el
nombre del archivo sino la información codificada
en el archivo, la llamada etiqueta ID3. Puede editar
esta información de título con programas especiales.
El reproductor multimedia ya no reacciona
correctamente o no se enciende:

¿Hay suficiente espacio libre en la memoria?

¿Hay una conexión USB al PC?
Recomendación para la conexión del aparato USB a
un puerto USB 1.1 en Windows® XP:
El sistema operativo muestra el mensaje de que un
aparato USB de alta velocidad está conectado a un
núcleo USB que no es de alta velocidad. Éste no es
un mensaje de fallo sino la simplemente la
indicación de que se va a ajustar la velocidad debido
a que la conexión USB 1.1 es más lenta.
El formateado del reproductor multimedia en Windows
Vista™ dura más tiempo que en Windows® XP
Windows Vista™ le ofrece la novedad de un estándar de
seguridad superior por lo que algunos programas pueden
tardar más tiempo que en sistemas operativos más
antiguos. Espere sin falta al requerimiento antes de
desconectar el reproductor multimedia del ordenador.

Approved purpose
The multi-media player is a battery-operated, portable
multi-media play-back device with an internal memory and
a card insertion slot.
You can play audio and video files*, and photos on this
device. In addition, the multi-media player has an installed
microphone for recording speech notes and a
calendar/clock function. The multi-media player is also a
portable USB storage device, with which you can store and
administrate personal data.
This device is intended exclusively for private use and not
for commercial purposes.
* Video files can only be played if they have been converted
with the help of the video converter software supplied with
the device.
System requirements
The following requirements must be fulfilled, if you want to
connect your device with a PC.
A PC with a free USB 2.0 interface, from Pentium P III Class
(P4 recommended), and 1 GB free hard drive memory.

Always keep these Operating Instructions to
hand close to your device and keep them well,
in order to be able to pass them on the new
owner in the case of a disposal.

exclusively if you have problems with the
device.
Operating safety

The device is not intended to be used by individuals
(including children) with restricted physical, sensory
or mental capacities or a lack of experience or
knowledge, unless they are supervised by an
individual responsible for their safety or have
received instructions from this individual how the
device is to be used. Children should be supervised
to ensure that they do not play with the device.

Also follow the instructions for use of the devices
that you connect to the multi-media player.

Do not place any containers filled with liquid, such
as vases, for example, on the device or in its closer

environment. A container could fall over and the
liquid could impair electrical safety.

Keep the device away from moisture, spray and
drops of water. Avoid shocks, dust, heat and direct
solar radiation, in order to prevent operating faults.
The operating temperature is 5 to 40 °C.

Never open the casing. This would end any claims
under guarantee and possibly lead to the
destruction of the device.

Wait until the device has reached the temperature of
the surroundings after transportation. Moisture,
which can cause an electrical short-circuit, can form
because of condensation, in the case of great
variations in the temperature or moisture.

Do not place any objects on the device or exert any
pressure on the display. The display could break
otherwise. Do not touch the display with sharp
objects, in order to avoid damage.

The danger of injury will exist if the display has
broken. Pack the broken parts and send them to
your Service Center for correct disposal if this
happens. Wash your hands with soap after this,
because it cannot be excluded that chemicals could
have been discharged.

Only use the USB cable supplied with the device.

The device is only intended for connection to
computers with connection validation (Limited
Power Source in the sense of EN60950).

Lay the cable so that no-one can tread on it or trip
over it.

Do not place any objects on the cable, because it
could be damaged otherwise.
Notes about the touch screen
Your multi-media player is equipped with a touch-sensitive
display. You should pay attention to the following notes
whatever happens, to guarantee optimum use:
Operation

Do not touch the display with pointed or sharp
objects, in order to avoid damage.

Use a blunt entry stylus or your finger exclusively.
Cleaning

Take care that no drops of water remain on the
display. Water can cause lasting discoloration.

Clean the display with a soft, fluff-free cloth.

Do not subject the display to bright sunlight or to
ultra-violet radiation.

Do not use any solvents or corrosive or gaseous
cleaning substances.

Only use suitable cleaners, such as glass or monitor
cleaners (available in specialist shops), to clean the
display.
Do not use the device in the following situations:

While you are driving a vehicle;

While walking along a road:

In any situation or environment that requires
concentration and attention.
You should not operate the device under extremely dry
conditions, in order to avoid static charges.
Functional faults can arise in the device under
conditions with electrostatic discharge. It will be
necessary to reset the device to the factory settings in
this case.
Power supply
Your multi-media player is equipped with a rechargeable,
integrated, high performance lithium battery that you can
charge at your PC with the USB cable supplied with the device.
Data back-up
The assertion of compensation claims for the loss of data and
any consequential damage arising because of it is excluded.
Make back-up copies on external storage media (e.g. CD-R) after
each update of your data.

Electromagnetic compatibility
The Guidelines of electromagnetic compatibility (EMV)
must be observed during the connection. Keep a distance
of at least one metre from high frequency and magnetic
sources of interference (a TV device, loudspeakers, a
mobile, etc.), to avoid functional faults and the loss of data.

Bringing the device into
operation
Charging the lithium-polymer
battery
The internal lithium-polymer battery should be charged for
at least 2 hours before bringing the device into operation
for the first time. Recharging will take approx. 2 hours.
 Switch the computer on
 Connect the USB cable supplied with the device to
the mini-USB connection [9] of the device.
 Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port
of the computer.

The following sign in the display [6] of the multi-media player
will indicate that the multi-media player is connected to the
computer:
The battery will have been charged if the battery display
shows a full charge after the removal of the USB plug from
the USB port of the computer.
The charging time will be increased if you transfer
data to the device during the charging process.
The multi-media player will manage the charging status
automatically and will show this in the display [6] if the
device is switched on.
The message Warning! Low Battery Voltage! will appear in
the display in the case of battery power that is too low.

Connecting earphones
Stereo earphones accompany the device.
 Plug the stereo jack connector of the earphones into
the earphones connection [5]. You can also connect a
cable (not in the scope of delivery) at this connection,
for a connection to your stereo equipment.
Attention!
An excessive noise level during the use of
earphones and headphones can lead to damage
to hearing and/or the loss of hearing. Set the
volume to the lowest value before replay.
Only use the earphones supplied with your
device.
 Start the replay at a low volume and then increase
the volume to a level that is comfortable for you.
You can adjust the maximum volume to your
requirements. Read further about this under Volume
limiter Page 38.

Inserting a memory card
 Insert a Micro CD memory card into the card
insertion slot [7] until it engages, to replay the
images, videos and music on it. The metal contacts
will point in the direction of the display here.
 Press the card in gently, to remove a memory card
from the card insertion slot, and then remove it.
Do not exert any force when inserting a memory
card! The cards can only be inserted in one direction.
Incorrectly inserted memory cards can damage the
device and the memory card.

The device cannot be operated if the key block [3] is not
in the position. Push the key block [3] to the ,
position, to lift the block.
Switching the device on
 Hold the on/off switch
[1] pressed down briefly.
The device will switch itself on.
No titles will yet exist in the delivery status. Read the
instructions in the ‘Operation with a computer’
Chapter on Page 44 to transfer titles.

The MEDION screen will appear


Automatic switch-off (Power savings)
The device will switch off automatically if you do
not use the multi-media player for a determined
time.The standard setting is 5 minutes. You will
be able to set a different switch-off time in the
Settings, Power savings option.

 You will regulate the volume during the replay of
music and video with the -/+ [8] buttons.
 The volume can be set from 0 – 24 and is
represented in the menu Music on the right edge of
the display.
You can adjust the maximum volume to your
requirements. Read further about this under Volume
limiter on Page 38.
Selecting and confirming settings
 Touch an entry in the Menu. The corresponding submenu will be called up directly or the setting will be
taken over directly.
Key block
You can prevent a key being activated or the display being
operated inadvertently. For example, this is useful if you are
listening to music while you are transporting the multi
media player.

Displaying the lyrics – LRC (Lyric
Display Function)
Your multi-media player supports the replay of lyrics in sync
with a music title being played.
 Select a music file in the mp3 or WMA format, for
which you want to display the lyrics, e.g. the
happymusic.mp3 file.
 Download a lyrics file in the lrc. format for this title
from the Internet, e. g. happymusic-2004.lrc.
 Name the lyrics file with the same name as the music
file, so that they can be linked together: therefore
name the lyrics file as happymusic.lrc in this case.
 Copy the lyrics file and the music file to the multimedia player.
 Now, the lyrics will be shown in sync in the display if
you replay the corresponding music title with the
multi-media player.
Your player only supports lyrics files in the .lrc format.
It will not be a fault in the multi-media player if the
lyrics and the music are not played in sync. There are
different versions of music titles and lyrics. Check the
lyrics file and download a different one, if necessary.
Make sure that the lyrics file and the music file are in the
same directory and have the same file name.

Video replay ‘Video’ Menu
 Switch the multi-media player on. The main menu
will appear.
 Select the Video Menu and touch the menu symbol.
 Touch a video. The replay will start directly.
Your player supports video files in the avi. format. Video
files have to be converted (computed down to a smaller
size), before they can be replayed with the multi-media
player, because of the smaller screen resolution.
You must have installed the ‘MediaCoderSE’ program
available on the CD supplied with the device on your
PC for the conversion. You will find additional
information about converting with ‘MediaCoderSE’
under MediaCoder film processing software on Page

Your player supports image files in the .jpg, .gif and
.bmp formats. Large images have to be computed
down to a smaller size, before they can be replayed with
the multi-media player, because of the smaller screen

necessary. PCM is the digitalized analog signal of

MS and IM ADPCM data are compressed and need
less memory capacity for this reason. MS ADPCM is
recognized by almost all Windows versions and can
be replayed by a computer.
IM ADPCM is an audio format that devices such as a
mobile can replay. Select IM ADPCM if you want to
transfer the recording to such devices.

A higher sampling rate will lead to a better replay

Your multi-media player has an installed clock with a
calendar function.
 Select the Time menu and touch the menu symbol:

Operation with a computer
Attention!
Make a back-up copy of your data on external
storage media after each update. The assertion
of compensation claims for data loss and any
consequential damage arising because of it is
excluded.
Connection to a computer
Remove the earphones from the connection socket [5], if
necessary.
 Make sure that the multi-media player is switched off
and connect the smaller connector of the USB cable
supplied to the device to the USB connection of the
multi-media player [9].
 Plug the other end of the USB cable into a free USB
connection of your computer.
The computer will recognize that a new device has been
connected and will allocate a drive letter to the multi-media
player.
It will not be necessary to install a driver.
You will be able to separate the connection to the
computer when the data transfer has finished.

Only such works are permitted to be copied or coded in the case
of which you are the author yourself or where corresponding
rights of use have been granted to you by the author or the holder
of the rights. There will be the danger that those entitled will take
action against this potential criminal offence and will assert their
claims, if you have breached these rights. Please pay attention to
the legal regulations when using pieces of music in the
mp3/WMA format. You will receive information about this at the
office of GEMA responsible for your region or on the Internet
under www.gema.de. Please contact the corresponding
institutions that are responsible for the rights of artists and
recording industry, if you are using the mp3 device outside
Germany.
Files in the WMA format
Your multi-media player can also play files in the WMA
format, apart from mp3 files. Some WMA encoders can
prevent a replay on portable devices by means of DRM
(Digital Rights Management). You can transfer even such
files and then play them on your portable device with
Windows Media Player from version 10.0.
Music files that require an associated licence file to be
replayed (DRM) must be transferred by means of special
programs (e. g. Windows Media Player 10.0 or other
programs made available by other mp3 providers). The
multi-media player will refuse to replay the title if the licence
file has not been transferred (e.g. by copying by means of
Explorer).

Data exchange with the computer
Please pay attention to the fact that three Mb must
be kept free for the system. It will not be possible to
switch on the multi-media player correctly otherwise.
Do not break the connection during the data
transfer.
Users of Windows Vista must use Media Player 11 to transfer
music titles. Your computer will recognize the multi-media
player as an MTP drive if you have installed Windows Media Player
10 or 11 (WMP 10/11) on systems with Windows XP or
Windows Vista. There will be a ‘Music’ directory on this drive.
Copy the music into the music directory if you wish to
transfer it to the multi-media player.
You will have to copy music files onto the computer
in advance, in order to be able to play or process
them on the computer. A direct replay by the multimedia player will not be possible.

You will be able to use the multi-media player to exchange
data as an external drive, if you have not installed Windows
Media Player 10. You will be able to play the music files or
copy data to another computer after you have separated
the multi-media player from the computer.
You will be able to transfer files without protection
to the multi-media player by means of drag & drop with
®
Windows Explorer as usual. Protected files must be
transferred with the associated licence by means of
Windows Media Player.
Formatting the device
Back up the data on a computer or another storage
medium before you reformat the multi-media player.
All your data will be lost otherwise.
You will be able to format the multi-media player with
Windows Media Player. Connect the device to the
computer and open Media Player.
 Select the format and start the process.
Select FAT in the file menu, but not NFTS under any
circumstances; your multi-media player will not
work otherwise and you will have to reformat it.

MediaCoder film processing
software
Installation of the software
You will be able to convert film files, so that they can be
played on the multi-media player, with the software
supplied with the device.
 Place the CD into a CD drive of your computer. .
The Installation Assistant (‘Install Shield Wizard’) will be
started.
 Follow the instructions on the screen.
The MediaCoderSE program icon will appear on the
Desktop of the computer after successful installation.
Concerning installation:
 Confirm Next.
 Select Install MediacoderSE to: in the next dialogue
and establish the storage location for the software.
 Click on Change…, if you would like to change the
suggested path.
 Confirm Next again and Next in the next dialogue,
to start the installation.
 Finally confirm Finish, to conclude the installation.
Access the CD drive and double-click on the
setup.exe file, if the installation process has not

started automatically (no auto-run).
Using the software
You will find a program for converting video files on the CD
supplied with the device. You will be able to use this
program to convert MPG, MPG4, ASF, AVI and WMV files
into the supported in AVI format. Videos in other formats (e.
g. with a resolution of 220x176 pixels) will not be played
back.
MediaCoder will be installed on your computer by the
execution of the SETUP.EXE file. Please proceed as follows
after the installation of the software:
Opening the software
Double-click on the program icon. The following program
window will appear:

 Change the User Interface Language entry to your
local language (German) in the Menü Optionen
[Options Menu].
 Confirm the following message with OK and close
the program. Then reopen it.
The setting of the menu language will now have been
accepted.
 Change the User Interface entry from Simple Mode

Menu].

First aid in the case of malfunctions
The multi-media player is not recognized by the
PC:

Is the battery perhaps empty?

Are the cable and the device connected correctly?

Check whether the multi-media player has been
correctly integrated into Windows Device Manager.
Reintegrate the USB controller, if necessary. Remove
other USB devices on a trial basis.
Files are not displayed correctly in the multi-media
player:

The information coded in the file, the ID3 tag, is
displayed in the multi-media player, not the file name.
You can process this title information with special
programs.
The multi-media player no longer reacts correctly
or can no longer be switched on:

Is the battery perhaps empty?

Is sufficient free memory capacity still available?
 Delete some files, if necessary.
 Carry out a reset.

Is there a USB connection to the PC?
Information about connecting the USB device to a
1.1 USB port under Windows® XP:
The operating system will show that a high speed
USB device has been connected to a non-high speed
USB hub, under certain circumstances. This merely
concerns the information that the speed will be
adjusted as a result of the slower USB 1.1 connection
here, not an error message.
The formatting of the multi-media player takes longer
under Windows Vista™ than under Windows® XP
Windows Vista™ offers a higher security standard with its
innovations; some processes can take more time than with
older operating systems for this reason. You must wait for
the request to do so before you separate the multi-media
player from your computer.

Auf diesem Gerät können Sie Audio- und Videodateien*,
sowie Fotos wiedergeben. Zusätzlich verfügt der
Multimediaplayer über ein eingebautes Mikrofon zur
Aufzeichnung von Sprachnotizen und eine
Kalender/Uhrenfunktion. Der Multimediaplayer ist auch ein
tragbares USB-Speichergerät, mit dem Sie persönliche
Daten speichern und verwalten können.
Dieses Gerät ist ausschließlich für den privaten Gebrauch
und nicht für gewerbliche Zwecke bestimmt.
* Video Dateien können nur abgespielt werden, wenn sie
mit Hilfe der mitgelieferten Video-Converter Software
umgewandelt werden

Wenn Sie Ihr Gerät mit einem PC verbinden wollen, muss
dieser folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllen.
PC mit freier USB 2.0-Schnittstelle, ab Pentium P III Klasse
(empfohlen P4) und 1 GB freiem Festplattenspeicher.

Halten Sie diese Bedienungsanleitung stets
griffbereit in der Nähe Ihres Gerätes und
bewahren diese gut auf, um sie bei einer
Veräußerung dem neuen Besitzer weitergeben
zu können.
Wenden Sie sich bitte ausschließlich an unsere
autorisierten Servicepartner, falls Sie Probleme
mit dem Gerät haben.
Betriebssicherheit

Das Gerät ist nicht dafür bestimmt, durch Personen
(einschließlich Kinder) mit eingeschränkten
physischen, sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten
oder mangels Erfahrung und/oder mangels Wissen
benutzt zu werden, es sei denn, sie werden durch
eine für ihre Sicherheit zuständige Person
beaufsichtigt oder erhielten von ihr Anweisungen,
wie das Gerät zu benutzen ist. Kinder sollten
beaufsichtigt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass sie
nicht mit dem Gerät spielen.

Befolgen Sie auch die Gebrauchsanweisungen der
Geräte, die Sie mit dem Multimediaplayer verbinden.

Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße, wie
z.B. Vasen, auf das Gerät oder in die nähere
Umgebung. Das Gefäß kann umkippen und die
Flüssigkeit kann die elektrische Sicherheit
beeinträchtigen.

Halten Sie das Gerät von Feuchtigkeit, Tropf- und
Spritzwasser fern. Vermeiden Sie Erschütterungen,
Staub, Hitze und direkte Sonneneinstrahlung, um
Betriebsstörungen zu verhindern. Die
Betriebstemperatur beträgt 5 bis 40 °C.

Öffnen Sie niemals das Gehäuse. Dies würde den
Garantieanspruch beenden und möglicherweise zur
Zerstörung des Gerätes führen.

Warten Sie nach einem Transport solange mit der
Inbetriebnahme, bis das Gerät die
Umgebungstemperatur angenommen hat. Bei großen
Temperatur- oder Feuchtigkeitsschwankungen kann es
durch Kondensation zur Feuchtigkeitsbildung
kommen, die einen elektrischen Kurzschluss
verursachen kann.

Legen Sie keine Gegenstände auf die Geräte und
üben Sie keinen Druck auf das Display aus.
Andernfalls kann das Display brechen. Berühren Sie
nicht das Display mit kantigen Gegenständen, um
Beschädigungen zu vermeiden.

Es besteht Verletzungsgefahr, wenn das Display bricht.
Sollte dies passieren, packen Sie mit
Schutzhandschuhen die geborstenen Teile ein und

senden Sie diese zur fachgerechten Entsorgung an Ihr
Service Center. Waschen Sie anschließend Ihre Hände
mit Seife, da nicht auszuschließen ist, dass Chemikalien
ausgetreten sein könnten.

Setzen Sie nur das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel ein.

Das Gerät ist für den Anschluss an Computern mit
Anschlussabsicherung (Limited Power Source im
Sinn der EN60950) vorgesehen.

Verlegen Sie die Kabel so, dass niemand darauf
treten, oder darüber stolpern kann.

Stellen Sie keine Gegenstände auf die Kabel, da diese
sonst beschädigt werden könnten.
Hinweise zum Touchscreen
Ihr Multimediaplayer ist mit einem berührungsempfindlichen Display ausgestattet. Um eine optimale
Benutzung zu gewährleisten, sollten Sie folgende Hinweise
unbedingt beachten:
Bedienung

Berühren Sie das Display nicht mit spitzen oder
scharfkantigen Gegenständen, um Beschädigungen
zu vermeiden.

Verwenden Sie ausschließlich einen stumpfen
Eingabestift oder den Finger.

Reinigung

Achten Sie darauf, dass keine Wassertropfen auf dem
Display zurückbleiben. Wasser kann dauerhafte
Verfärbungen verursachen.

Reinigen Sie das Display mit einem weichen,
fusselfreien Tuch.

Setzen Sie das Display weder grellem Sonnenlicht
noch ultravioletter Strahlung aus.

Verwenden Sie keine Lösungsmittel, ätzende oder
gasförmige Reinigungsmittel.

Benutzen Sie zur Reinigung des Displays nur
geeignete Reiniger wie z.B. Glasreiniger oder
Monitorreiniger (im Fachhandel erhältlich).
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht in den folgenden
Situationen:

während Sie ein Fahrzeug steuern;

während des Gehens auf einer Straße;

jede Situation oder Umgebung, die Konzentration
und Aufmerksamkeit erfordert.
Um statische Aufladungen zu vermeiden, sollten Sie
das Gerät nicht unter extrem trockenen Bedingungen
betreiben.
Unter Bedingungen mit elektrostatischer Entladung,
kann es zu Fehlfunktionen des Gerätes kommen. In
diesem Fall ist es erforderlich das Gerät auf die
Werkseinstellungen zurückzusetzen.

Stromversorgung
Ihr Multimediaplayer ist mit einem wieder aufladbaren
integrierten Lithium-Hochleistungsakku ausgestattet, den Sie
über das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel an Ihrem PC aufladen
können.
Datensicherung
Die Geltendmachung von Schadenersatzansprüchen für
Datenverlust und dadurch entstandene Folgeschäden ist
ausgeschlossen. Machen Sie nach jeder Aktualisierung Ihrer
Daten Sicherungskopien auf externe Speichermedien (z. B.
CD-R).
Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit
Beim Anschluss müssen die Richtlinien für
elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit (EMV) eingehalten
werden. Halten Sie mindestens einen Meter Abstand von
hochfrequenten und magnetischen Störquellen (TV-Gerät,
Lautsprecherboxen, Mobiltelefon usw.) ein, um
Funktionsstörungen und Datenverlust zu vermeiden.

Inbetriebnahme
Li-Polymer Akku aufladen
Vor der Erstinbetriebnahme sollte der interne Li-PolymerAkku mindestens 2 Stunden aufgeladen werden.
Die Wiederaufladung dauert ca. 2 Stunden.
 Schalten Sie den Computer ein
 Verbinden Sie das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel mit dem
Mini-USB-Anschluss [9] des Gerätes.
 Stecken Sie das andere Ende des USB-Kabels in einen
USB-Port des Computers.

Im Display [6] des Multimediaplayers signalisiert folgende
Anzeige, dass der Multimediaplayer mit dem Computer
verbunden ist:
Wenn die Batterieanzeige nach Entfernen des USB-Steckers
aus dem USB-Port des Computers volle Ladung anzeigt, ist
der Akku geladen.
Die Ladezeit erhöht sich, wenn Sie während des
Ladevorgangs Daten auf das Gerät überspielen.
Der Multimediaplayer kontrolliert den Ladezustand des
Akkus automatisch und zeigt diesen bei eingeschaltetem
Gerät im Display [6] an.
Bei zu geringer Akkuleistung erscheint die Meldung
Achtung! Niedrige Batteriespannung im Display.

Kopfhörer anschließen
Dem Gerät liegt ein Stereo-Kopfhörer bei.
 Stecken Sie den Stereo-Klinkenstecker des Kopfhörers
an den Kopfhöreranschluss [5]. Sie können an diesem
Anschluss auch ein Kabel (nicht im Lieferumfang) zum
Anschluss an Ihre Stereoanlage anschließen.
Achtung!
Übermäßiger Schalldruck bei Verwendung von
Ohrhörern und Kopfhörern kann zu Schäden
am Hörvermögen und/oder zum Verlust des
Hörsinns führen. Stellen Sie die Lautstärke vor
der Wiedergabe auf den niedrigsten Wert ein.
Verwenden Sie nur den Kopfhörer, der mit
Ihrem Gerät mitgeliefert wurde.
 Starten Sie die Wiedergabe bei niedriger Lautstärke
und erhöhen Sie die dann Lautstärke auf ein Maß,
das für Sie angenehm ist.
Sie können die maximale Lautstärke an Ihre
Bedürfnisse anpassen. Lesen Sie dazu weiter unter
Lautst.limit auf Seite 38.

Speicherkarte einlegen
 Um Bilder, Videos und Musik von einer Micro SD
Speicherkarte abzuspielen, stecken Sie diese in den
Kartensteckplatz [7] ein, bis sie einrastet. Die
metallenen Kontakte zeigen dabei in Richtung des
Displays.
 Um eine Speicherkarte aus dem Kartensteckplatz zu
entfernen, drücken Sie die Karte leicht ein und
entnehmen Sie dann.
Wenden Sie beim Einlegen der Speicherkarte keine
Gewalt an! Die Karten lassen sich nur in eine
Richtung einlegen. Falsch eingelegte Speicherkarten
können das Gerät und die Speicherkarte
beschädigen.

Bedienung
Wenn sich die Tastensperre [3] nicht in der Position
befindet, lässt sich das Gerät nicht bedienen. Schieben
Sie die Tastensperre [3] in die Position , um die Sperre
aufzuheben.

 Halten Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter
Das Gerät schaltet sich ein.
[1] kurz gedrückt.
Im Auslieferungszustand ist noch kein Titel
vorhanden. Um Titel zu übertragen, lesen Sie die
Anweisungen im Kapitel „Datenaustausch mit dem
Computer“ auf Seite 46.

Der MEDION Bildschirm erscheint

Die Musikliste wird geladen.

Das Hauptmenü wird angezeigt.
Nach dem Einschalten befindet sich der Multimediaplayer
automatisch im Hauptmenü.
Gerät ausschalten
 Halten Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter
[1] solange
gedrückt, bis im Display [6] der MEDION Bildschirm
zu sehen ist.
Danach schaltet sich der Multimediaplayer aus.

Automatische Abschaltung (Energie sparen)
Wenn Sie den Multimediaplayer eine bestimmte Zeit
lang nicht benutzen, schaltet sich das Gerät
automatisch ab.
Die Standardeinstellung ist 5 Minuten. Im Menü
Einstellungen, Option Energie sparen können Sie
eine andere Ausschaltzeit einstellen.
Menüs aufrufen
 Tippen Sie mit dem Finger auf die am Displayrand
dargestellten Menüsymbole, um die einzelnen
Menüs nacheinander anzuzeigen. Um ein Menü
aufzurufen, tippen Sie auf das in der Displaymitte
angezeigte Menüsymbol. Folgende Menüs sind

Sie können die maximale Lautstärke an Ihre
Bedürfnisse anpassen. Lesen Sie dazu weiter unter

Einstellungen auswählen und
bestätigen
 Tippen Sie auf einen Eintrag in den Menüs. Das
entsprechende Untermenü wird direkt aufgerufen
bzw. die Einstellung direkt übernommen.
Tastensperre
Mit der Tastensperre können Sie verhindern, dass eine Taste
versehentlich aktiviert wird bzw. das Display bedient wird.
Dies ist z. B. nützlich, wenn Sie Musik hören während Sie
den Multimediaplayer transportieren.

 Schieben Sie die Tastensperre [3] nach links.
 Im Display [6] erscheint ein Schloss-Symbol
in der Statusleiste.

Sobald Sie eine Taste drücken, erscheint
nun im Display [6] das Schloss-Symbol .
 Um die Sperre aufzuheben, schieben Sie die
Tastensperre [3] in die entgegen gesetzte
Richtung. Das Schloss-Symbol
erlischt.
Multimediaplayer zurücksetzen
(Reset)
Um bei erheblichen Störungen das Gerät wieder auf die
Werkseinstellung zurückzusetzen, gehen Sie
folgendermaßen vor:
 Entfernen Sie ggf. alle Verbindungskabel.
 Drücken Sie mit einem spitzen Gegenstand, z. B.
einer aufgebogenen Büroklammer, vorsichtig den
Resetknopf [2] auf der Oberseite des
Multimediaplayers.

Liedtexte anzeigen –
LRC (Lyric Display Function)
Ihr Multimediaplayer unterstützt die Wiedergabe von
Liedtexten synchron zu einem abgespielten Musiktitel.
 Wählen Sie eine Musikdatei im Format MP3 oder
WMA aus, für die Sie die Liedtexte anzeigen wollen,
z. B. die Datei happymusic.mp3.
 Laden Sie für diesen Titel eine Liedtextdatei im
Format .lrc aus dem Internet herunter z. B.
happymusic-2004.lrc.
 Benennen Sie die Liedtextdatei auf den gleichen Namen
um, wie die Musikdatei, damit die Liedtextdatei mit der
Musikdatei verknüpft werden kann: Benennen Sie die
Liedtextdatei also in diesem Fall mit: happymusic.lrc.
 Kopieren Sie Liedtextdatei und Musikdatei auf den
Multimediaplayer.
 Wenn Sie nun den entsprechenden Musiktitel mit
dem Multimediaplayer wiedergeben, werden die
Liedtexte dazu synchron im Display angezeigt.
Ihr Player unterstützt nur Liedtextdateien im
Format .lrc. Wenn Liedtext und Musik nicht synchron
wiedergegeben werden, ist dies kein Defekt des
Multimediaplayers. Es gibt unterschiedliche Versionen
von Musiktiteln und Liedtexten. Überprüfen Sie die
Liedtextdatei und laden Sie sich gegebenenfalls eine
andere aus dem Internet herunter. Vergewissern Sie sich,
dass Liedtextdatei und Musikdatei sich im gleichen
Ordner befinden und den gleichen Dateinamen haben.

Videowiedergabe Menü „Video“
 Schalten Sie den Multimediaplayer ein. Das
Hauptmenü erscheint.
 Wählen Sie das Menü Video und tippen Sie auf das
Menüsymbol.
 Tippen Sie auf ein Video. Die Wiedergabe startet
direkt.
Ihr Player unterstützt Videodateien im Format .avi.
Aufgrund der kleineren Bildschirmauflösung müssen
Videodateien konvertiert (auf eine kleinere Auflösung
heruntergerechnet) werden, bevor Sie mit dem
Multimediaplayer wiedergegeben werden können.
Für die Konvertierung müssen Sie das auf der
mitgelieferten CD vorhandene Programm
„MediaCoder SE“ auf Ihrem PC installiert haben.

Aufnahme, benötigt aber mehr Speicherplatz.
MS und IM ADPCM-Daten sind komprimiert und
benötigen deshalb weniger Speicherplatz. MS
ADPCM wird von fast allen Windows Versionen
erkannt und kann vom Computer wiedergegeben
werden.
IM ADPCM ist ein Audioformat das Geräte wie z. B.
Mobiltelefone wiedergeben können. Wenn Sie die
Aufnahmen auf solche Geräte übertragen wollen,
wählen Sie als Aufnahmeformat IM ADPCM.

Abtastrate

Wählen Sie eine Abtastrate für die Aufnahme aus.
Einstellbar sind:
8000 Hz, 11025 Hz, 16000 Hz, 22050 Hz, 32000 Hz,
44100 Hz, 48000 Hz
Hinweis
Eine höhere Abtastrate führt zu einer besseren
Wiedergabequalität, benötigt aber mehr
Speicherplatz.

Ihr Multimediaplayer verfügt über eine eingebaute Uhr mit
Kalenderfunktion.
 Wählen Sie das Menü Zeit und tippen Sie auf das
Menüsymbol:
 Tippen Sie auf die Pfeile rechts und links der
Jahreszahl, um eine Jahr zurück bzw. vor zu blättern.
 Tippen Sie auf die Pfeile rechts und links der
Monatszahl, um einen Monat zurück bzw. vor zu
blättern.

Menü „Einstellungen“
Im Menü Einstellungen können Sie weitere Einstellungen
für die verschiedenen Funktionen des Multimediaplayers
vornehmen.
 Wählen Sie das Menü Einstellungen und tippen Sie
auf das Menüsymbol.

Hier können Sie die Klangeinstellung Normal, Klassik, Jazz,
Pop, Rock, XBass für die Audioausgabe auswählen.

ausgegeben.
Hinweis
Sie können den Equalizer auch während der
Wiedergabe direkt durch Antippen der
Equalizeranzeige in der Statusleiste einstellen.

Hier können Sie den maximalen Wert für die

 Wählen Sie diesen Eintrag aus, um den internen
Speicher zu formatieren.
 Bestätigen Sie die anschließende Abfrage mit OK,

Dateien suchen – Menü „Navigation“
Im Menü Navigation können Sie alle auf dem internen
Speicher oder auf dem Kartenspeicher vorhandenen Daten
auflisten.
 Wählen Sie das Menü Navigation und tippen Sie auf
das Menüsymbol.
Wählen Sie eine der folgenden Dateiansichten aus, indem
Sie auf den Eintrag tippen. Wählen Sie anschließend einen
Ordner/eine Datei aus, um den Ordner zu öffnen/die Datei
wiederzugeben.

 Halten Sie den Finger auf dem Eintrag einer Datei für
etwa zwei Sekunden lang gedrückt und lassen Sie
dann los.
Ein Auswahlmenü erscheint.
 Wählen Sie den Eintrag
Wiedergabe, um die Datei jetzt wiederzugeben
Löschen, um nach der anschließenden Bestätigung
mit JA die Datei sofort zu löschen. Andernfalls
wählen Sie NEIN.
Abbrechen, um keine Aktion auszuführen

Betrieb mit dem Computer
Achtung!
Machen Sie nach jeder Aktualisierung Ihrer
Daten Sicherungskopien auf externe
Speichermedien. Die Geltendmachung von
Schadensersatzansprüchen für Datenverlust und
dadurch entstandene Folgeschäden wird
ausgeschlossen.
Anschluss an den Computer
Ziehen Sie ggf. den Kopfhörer aus der Anschlussbuchse [5].
 Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Multimediaplayer
ausgeschaltet ist und verbinden Sie den kleineren
Stecker des mitgelieferten USB-Kabels mit dem USBAnschluss des Multimediaplayers [9].
 Stecken Sie das andere Ende des USB Kabels in einen
freien USB-Anschluss Ihres Computers.
Der Computer erkennt, dass ein neues Gerät angeschlossen
wurde und weist dem Multimediaplayer ein Laufwerk zu.
Die Installation eines Treibers ist nicht erforderlich.
Wenn die Datenübertragung beendet ist, können Sie die
Verbindung zum Computer trennen.

denen Sie selbst der Urheber sind oder bei denen Ihnen
entsprechende Nutzungsrechte durch die Urheber bzw. die

Rechte, besteht die Gefahr, dass die Berechtigten gegen
diese mögliche Straftat vorgehen und ihre Ansprüche
geltend machen. Bitte beachten Sie die gesetzlichen
Bestimmungen beim Einsatz von Musikstücken im
MP3/WMA-Format. Auskunft hierüber erhalten Sie bei der
für Ihre Region zuständigen Geschäftsstelle der GEMA oder
im Internet unter www.gema.de. Wenn Sie das MP3-Gerät
außerhalb Deutschlands einsetzen, wenden Sie sich bitte an
die entsprechenden Institutionen, die für die Rechte der
Künstler und der Tonträgerindustrie verantwortlich sind.
Dateien im WMA-Format
Ihr Multimediaplayer kann außer MP3-Dateien auch
Dateien im WMA-Format abspielen. Einige WMA Encoder
können durch DRM (Digital Rights Management) ein
Abspielen auf tragbaren Geräten verhindern. Mit dem
Windows Media Player ab Version 10.0 können Sie auch
solche Dateien überspielen und dann in Ihrem tragbaren
Gerät abspielen.
Musikdateien, die zur Wiedergabe eine zugehörige
Lizenzdatei (DRM) benötigen, müssen über spezielle
Programme (z. B. Windows Mediaplayer 10.0 oder
andere von MP3-Anbietern zur Verfügung gestellte
Programme) übertragen werden. Wird die

Lizenzdatei nicht übertragen (z.B. durch Kopieren
über den Explorer), verweigert der Multimediaplayer
die Wiedergabe des Titels.
Datenaustausch mit dem Computer
Bitte beachten Sie, dass drei MB für das System
freigehalten werden müssen. Andernfalls kann der
Multimediaplayer nicht richtig eingeschaltet werden.
Trennen Sie die Verbindung nicht während der
Datenübertragung.
Musiktitel müssen unter Windows XP®, Vista® und Windows 7
®
zur Übertragung über den Windows Media Player Version 10.0
oder höher synchronisiert werden. Andernfalls kann nicht
gewährleistet werden, dass die Dateien mit dem Gerät
wiedergegeben werden können.
Wenn Sie Musik auf den Multimediaplayer übertragen
möchten, kopieren Sie diese in den Musikordner.
Um die Musikdateien auf dem Computer abspielen
oder bearbeiten zu können, müssen Sie diese vorher
auf den Computer kopieren. Eine direkte
Wiedergabe vom Multimediaplayer ist nicht
möglich.

Wenn Sie den Windows Media Player 10 nicht installiert
haben, können Sie den Multimediaplayer als externes
Laufwerk benutzen um Daten auszutauschen. Nachdem Sie
den Multimediaplayer wieder vom Computer getrennt
haben, können Sie Musikdateien abspielen oder Daten auf
einen anderen Computer überspielen.
Dateien ohne Schutz können Sie wie gehabt über
®
Drag & Drop mit dem Windows Explorer auf den
Multimediaplayer übertragen. Geschützte Dateien
müssen über den Windows Media Player mit der
zugehörigen Lizenz übertragen werden.
Gerät formatieren
Bevor Sie den Multimediaplayer neu formatieren,
sichern Sie die Daten auf einem Computer oder
einem anderen Speichermedium. Andernfalls gehen
alle Ihre Daten verloren.
Sie können den Multimediaplayer mit dem Windows Media
Player formatieren. Schließen Sie das Gerät an den
Computer an und öffnen Sie den Media Player.
 Wählen Sie Format und starten Sie den Vorgang.
Wählen Sie im Dateimenü auf keinen Fall NTFS
sondern FAT, andernfalls arbeitet Ihr
Multimediaplayer nicht und Sie müssen ihn erneut
formatieren.

Filmbearbeitungssoftware
MediaCoder
Installation der Software
Mit der mitgelieferten Software können Sie Filmdateien
konvertieren, damit sie auf dem Multimediaplayer
wiedergegeben werden können.
 Legen Sie die CD in ein CD-Laufwerk Ihres
Computers ein.
Der Installationsassistent („InstallShieldWizard“) wird
gestartet.
 Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.
Nach erfolgreicher Installation erscheint das Programmicon
MediaCoderSE auf dem Desktop des Computers.
Zur Installation:
 Bestätigen Sie Next.
 Im nächsten Dialog Install MediacoderSE to: wählen
legen Sie den Speicherort für die Software fest.
 Klicken Sie auf Change…, wenn Sie den
vorgeschlagenen Pfad ändern möchten.
 Bestätigen Sie wieder Next und im nächsten Dialog
Next, um die Installation zu starten.
 Zuletzt bestätigen Sie Finish, um die Installation
abzuschließen.

Falls der Installationsvorgang nicht von selbst startet
(kein „Auto-Run“), greifen Sie auf das CD-Laufwerk
zu und doppelklicken Sie auf die setup.exe Datei.
Software verwenden
Auf der mitgelieferten CD finden Sie ein Programm zum
Konvertieren von Videodateien. Sie können dieses
Programm nutzen, um MPG, MPG4, ASF, AVI und WMV
Dateien in das unterstützte AVI-Format zu konvertieren.
Videos anderer Formate (z. B. mit einer Auflösung von
220x176 Pixeln) werden nicht wieder gegeben.
Der MediaCoder wird durch Ausführen der Datei SETUP.EXE
auf Ihrem Computer installiert. Nach Installation der
Software gehen Sie bitte wie folgt vor:
Öffnen Sie die Software
Doppelklicken Sie auf das Programmicon. Es erscheint das
Programmfenster:

 Ändern Sie im Menü Optionen den Eintrag User
Interface Language in Ihre Landessprache (German).
 Bestätigen Sie die anschließende Meldung mit OK
und schließen Sie das Programm. Danach öffnen Sie
es erneut.
Die Einstellung der Menüsprache ist nun übernommen.
 Ändern Sie im Menü Optionen den Eintrag User
Interface von Simple Mode in Normal Mode.
, um Dateien,
 Klicken Sie auf das Icon Add file
die Sie konvertieren möchten aufzurufen. Wählen Sie
die Datei aus und klicken Sie auf Open. Die Datei
wird ins Programmfenster hinzugefügt.
Wählen Sie nun den gewünschten Zielordner im
Ausgabeordner aus.

 Wenn Sie alle Einstellungen vorgenommen haben,
klicken Sie auf das Start-Icon
konvertiert die Dateien.

Warten Sie bis der Vorgang abgeschlossen ist und die
Meldung Transcoding completed erscheint.
Nun können Sie die konvertierten Dateien auf Ihren
Multimediaplayer kopieren.

Erste Hilfe bei Fehlfunktionen
Multimediaplayer wird im PC nicht erkannt:

Ist vielleicht der Akku leer?

Sind das Kabel und das Gerät ordnungsgemäß
angeschlossen?
 Überprüfen Sie im Windows-Gerätemanager, ob der
Multimediaplayer korrekt eingebunden ist. Binden
Sie den USB-Controller ggf. neu ein. Entfernen Sie
probeweise andere USB-Geräte.
Dateien werden im Multimediaplayer nicht
korrekt angezeigt:

Im Multimediaplayer wird nicht der Dateiname angezeigt,
sondern die in der Datei kodierten Informationen, den
sog. ID3-Tag. Sie können diese Titelinformationen mit
speziellen Programmen bearbeiten.
Der Multimediaplayer reagiert nicht mehr korrekt
oder lässt sich nicht mehr einschalten:

Ist vielleicht der Akku leer?

Ist noch genügend freier Speicherplatz vorhanden?
 Löschen Sie ggf. einige Dateien.
 Führen Sie einen Reset durch.

Die Titel werden nicht in der richtigen
Reihenfolge wiedergegeben:
 Prüfen Sie, ob der Wiedergabemodus korrekt
eingestellt ist.

Besteht eine USB-Verbindung zum PC?
Hinweis zum Anschluss des USB-Gerätes an einen
USB 1.1 Port unter Windows® XP:
Das Betriebssystem zeigt u. U. die Meldung, dass ein
Hochgeschwindigkeits- USB Gerät an einen NichtHochgeschwindigkeits-USB Hub angeschlossen ist.
Hierbei handelt es sich nicht um eine Fehlermeldung
sondern lediglich um den Hinweis, dass bedingt
durch den langsameren USB 1.1 Anschluss die
Geschwindigkeit angepasst wird.
Das Formatieren des Multimediaplayers unter Windows
Vista™ dauert länger als unter Windows® XP
Windows Vista™ bietet mit den Neuerungen einen höheren
Sicherheitsstandard, daher können einige Prozesse mehr
Zeit in Anspruch nehmen als bei den älteren
Betriebssystemen. Warten Sie unbedingt auf die
Aufforderung bevor Sie den Multimediaplayer von Ihrem
Computer trennen.
