The Project “M³ - Motivating Meaningful Math” aims to motivate students for mathematics by
working on problems that show the importance of mathematics in real life and are related to
other subjects. We are looking for learning arrangements in which students can explore,
invent or learn mathematics as active, creative learners with hands-on material
(experiments), by using ICT and/or maths software e.g. for simulations. These
arrangements – often cross-curricular – will be drafted by teachers but also planned by
students (collaborating via TS) , tried out in classes and then evaluated by partner students
(and teachers).

Lebensgrundlage, Energieträger und Kulturgut“ auseinandersetzen. Die in verschiedenen
Fächern erworbenen Kenntnisse zum Thema "Wasser" sollen in der Projektarbeit vertieft,
miteinander verknüpft und in einen transnationalen Zusammenhang gestellt werden, der
Aspekt "Wasser in der Kunst" soll einen kreativ-affektiven Zugang eröffnen.

“A suitcase for Europe” is the title of our partnership project, a cultural tour around Italy,
Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Portugal for one direction: Europe! For
this special trip we needs: a suitcase, a story, a cheerful company. At the first we need all
documents but overall Countries identity:our names, ages, towns jobs, families, our
solitudes, our failures, our interests, our daily life full of light, travel, vintage and fragile bags.
All these ones contain unrepeatable stories of ordinary people, elderly persons, youths,
families and children of the past and the present.
We want to tell our lives as ordinary people through the “cycle life”, his best memories and
crucial moments: today or yesterday it’s important to know retracing prints and signs for
understanding if we need to learn by Europe still!
For young generations means a future perspective, for old ones a place where they can
help the others and learn what we want or chose of saving from past for an European
regeneration. Through an intercultural /inter-generative approach and dialogue we want to
rebuild a “ learning space”. All participants can ”learn to learn” about: self-confidence,
passion, pride, enthusiasm, creativity as useful “survival strategies”, a “literacy” of minds,
body, hearts.
Leadership for Transition
Leadership for transition (LiFT) brings together innovative researchers, practitioners and
citizens engaged in the fields of leadership, education and societal transition to promote
more integrative, more effective and thus more sustainable ways of living in Europe and
beyond. The project rationale holds that in times of multidimensional crisis, leadership
increasingly needs to empower individuals and society at large to take over responsibility for
working towards the common good.
European Mentoring & Befriending Exchange Programme
The European Mentoring & Befriending Exchange Programme arises from the need of
mentoring and befriending coordinators to exchange their knowledge and experiences
across Europe in order to increase the quality of their work, generate new ideas and find
solutions to common problems. Mentoring and Befriending organisations aim at matching
volunteers with vulnerable people in a long-lasting one-to-one mentoring/befriending
relationship. The focus of the present project is on those mentoring and befriending
organsations which match adult volunteers with children. Mutual understanding, respect,
confidence and voluntariness are key to such a sustainable relationship.

There is a shared understanding amongst the partners that older people, carers, care
practitioners, service providers and educators need knowledge, innovation and sharing of
good practice in relation to processes that empower older people to remain active and
independent in care settings, both formal and informal, of their choice as long as possible
and that promote respect, dignity and autonomy of older people.
The Learning Partnership places and equal focus on learner and pedagogical objectives for
(1) older people and learners and (2) staff, providers and educators; though 100 mobility’s
over a series of eight country visits, involving around 800 participants within the partner
organisations. The modalities of the partnership will generate the material for a manual of’
Good Practice in Empowering Older People in their Care Settings across Europe' and
disseminate these widely.

European Streetsoccer Coach
Since the first Homeless World Cup in 2003 a number of national and local street-soccer
projects have been developed all over Europe, offering sports-activities to people living
under critical social conditions, i.e. homeless people, clients of drug therapies, streetpaper
vendors and asylum-seekers. The success of street-soccer-activities, measured by the
number of participants and the length of participation, depends on well educated coaches,
who are able to guide their teams in a motivating manner and on the background of well
established methods. Consequently the knowledge and the experience which have been
accomplished by single projects should be passed on to a network, where they are
incorporated into an overall concept and serve as the base for a systematical coach's
training.

Learning to Tackle Poverty
The partnership will provide a series of workshops, learner stories and study visits which will
exchange ideas and showcase innovative projects, around the key themes of: Skills for
work - unemployment and worklessness, reaching parents through family learning,
engaging Older people, Men and Minority Ethnic communities, the impact of learning on
health & well-being.
The partnership will provide a forum for adult educators, learners and non-learners to
contribute their knowledge and understanding about the barriers to learning, how to
overcome these barriers and to understand more about the motivations for engaging with
learning. A toolkit will be developed as a result of the partnership, which will share
approaches and good practice, with case studies and learner stories to illustrate successful
methodology.

Die Zahl der älteren abhängigen Menschen nimmt aufgrund verschiedener Entwicklungen
(u. a. durch Substitutionsprogramme und bessere Gesundheitsfürsorge) stetig zu. Sie
gehören zu einer gesellschaftlichen Randgruppe, die aufgrund ihrer langjährigen Sucht und
daraus resultierend multiplen Einschränkungen in Bezug auf Gesundheit, Arbeitsfähigkeit,
soziale Kontakte und kognitive Leistungsfähigkeit nur noch wenig Interesse an einer aktiven
Lebensgestaltung und Bildungsangeboten zeigt. Das Projekt "OLDI" soll unter Einbeziehung
der Betroffenen Kriterien entwickeln, die die spezifischen Bedarfe älterer Abhängiger in
Hinblick auf eine soziale Integration und Verbesserung der Lebensqualität berücksichtigen
sowie Mitarbeiter/Mitarbeiterinnen in ambulanten und stationären Suchteinrichtungen für
dieses Thema sensibilisieren und sie motivieren, die eigenen Konzepte im Umgang mit
dieser gesellschaftlichen Randgruppe anzupassen.
