FOREWORD
Über zehn Jahre ist es nun her, dass die KurzFilmAgentur Hamburg – hervorgegangen aus dem No
Budget Festival (heute: Internationales KurzFilmFestival Hamburg) – ins Leben gerufen wurde. Im
Oktober 1992 wurde sie mit dem Ziel gegründet, die
Akzeptanz und die Verbreitung von Kurzfilmen
innerhalb und außerhalb Deutschlands zu fördern und
zu verbessern. Neben zahlreichen anderen Aktivitäten
wurde der weltweite Rechtehandel beständig und mit
wachsendem Erfolg betrieben.
It is now over ten years since the ShortFilmAgency
Hamburg first saw the light of day having evolved out
of the No Budget Festival (now: International ShortFilmFestival Hamburg). The agency was set up in 1992
with the aim of improving and developing both
national and international distribution structures for
short films. The ShortFilmAgency Hamburg has
negotiated worldwide film rights in addition to its
numerous other activities – and with increasing
success. Our ever-expanding stock of films needs a
new home, so we have come up with the ring-binder
variation. This makes it much simpler and less of a
bind to keep the catalogue up-to-date and fullystocked.
Unser laufend wachsender Filmstock erfordert eine
neue Lösung, die wir in der Ringbuchvariante
gefunden haben. So kann der Katalog mühelos
aktualisiert und ergänzt werden.
Geordnet sind die Filme darin nach ihrer Länge
bis 3 Minuten,
bis 6 Minuten,
bis 12 Minuten,
bis 15 Minuten,
über 15 Minuten,
und innerhalb dieser Rubriken nach Produktionsjahr. Neu akquirierte Filme können dadurch
innerhalb ihrer Rubrik jeweils problemlos hinten
angehängt werden.
Unser Inhaltsverzeichnis wächst mit und wird
jeweils zusammen mit den neuen Filmblättern
versandt. Es bietet neben der alphabetischen
Ordnung auch eine Kategorisierung nach
Themen. Aus Gründen der Internationalität und der
Übersichtlichkeit ist der Inhalt ausschließlich in
englischer Sprache verfasst. Weitere Hilfe bieten wir
selbstverständlich und sehr gerne persönlich an.
Neben diesem Katalog ist die KurzFilmAgentur
Hamburg zusätzlich in der Lage, aus ihrem
mittlerweile über 13.000 Kurzfilme umfassenden
internationalen KurzFilmArchiv zu schöpfen. Unser
Archiv, welches jährlich mit etwa 1.500 neuen
Kurzfilmen gespeist wird, gibt Auskunft über
sämtliche Filmdaten und bietet über einen
Schlagwortkatalog die Möglichkeit gezielt nach
Inhalten zu suchen.

Films are arranged according to length
up to 3 minutes,
up to 6 minutes,
up to 12 minutes,
up to 15 minutes,
over 15 minutes.
Within each category, films are further ordered
according to the year they were produced. This
means that new acquisitions can be added to the
appropriate section of the catalogue as they appear –
no problem.
The index will also change as new films are added to
the catalogue therefore an updated version will be
sent out with the pages carrying details of recently
added films. Titles are arranged both alphabetically and thematically. Given the international
nature of the service and a desire for the catalogue to
remain easy-to-use, the contents will be in English.
We are very happy to help with any aspect of our
work where you may require assistance.
The ShortFilmAgency Hamburg also maintains an
international short film archive containing over 13,000
short films – a further 1,500 new short films are
added each year. The archive contains a huge amount
of information relating to each film. A catalogue of
key words also makes it possible to carry out a
detailed contents search of the archive.
We hope you find our catalogue easy and comfortable

villages in Lower Saxony. However, none of the eyewitnesses took any photographs or film footage of what
they saw. Most of them said the objects looked like the
combs their grandmothers once used. The film investigates
the phenomenon by reconstructing the incident using
documentary techniques and hand-drawn animation.

A black-humored post-modern Romeo and Juliet for
modernday malcontents. A couple attempt several unsuccesfull suicides: death pills (one drop on the floor and
gets lost in a pile of plate fragments), guns and knives.
Finally after they decide that life is worth living the boy
realises that the girl has killed herself. Seconds later in a
switch from black-and-white we see him flying out of the

"Yo lo Vi – I saw it” is chiefly characterised by its complexity and the successful adaptation of a difficult subject. Based
on the simple idea of a metro train ride, starting at the station "Goya”, the film takes the viewers into the fascinating
world of Goya by animating the figures drawn by the Spanish painter. The film’s sympathetic use of animation techniques thus creates a vision, which brings together the connections between rationality and imagination in Goya’s art,
the creation of images from the depths of nightmares, the
production of images in different media, and the liberating
effects of art.
