Associations
Landmark Metalcoat is committed to environmental conservation and sustainability. As
a green-conscious organization, Landmark strives to produce eco-friendly products in a
globally responsible facility.

Landmark is proud to use a patented metalcoating product, recognized as a
Sequoia Award winning material demonstrating environmental innovation and
leadership in conservation techniques, applications and processes. When compared
with the environmental issues associated with foundries and plating facilities, this
metalcoating process significantly reduces volatile organic compounds (VOC’s)
emissions, disposable liquid waste, consumption of energy and consumption of
natural resources. Landmark uses recycled metals.

In 2008, Landmark developed a new casting substrate that does not emit any VOC’s
into the atmosphere. Additionally, this innovation allows Landmark to drastically
reduce the energy requirements associated with the facility’s ventilation equipment
on a sustainable basis.

The Landmark production facility is located in the state of California that has some
of the strictest emission control standards in the world. In order to adhere to these
requirements, Landmark is dedicated to utilizing environmentally friendly practices
and materials throughout the facility. Landmark uses energy-efficient equipment
and lighting, uses packaging made from recycled content and whenever possible,
eliminates waste and recycles trash.

American jobs and eliminating the wasteful energy consumption associated with
overseas transportation of imported products.

PRODUCT PERFORMANCE
Landmark Metalcoat uses a proprietary blend of composite metal and binder that is cold-sprayed onto
virtually any substrate to create the look and feel of solid cast metal. The metalcoating has a living finish
and will age naturally over time.
The metal is applied as part of a proprietary seven-step process. At an average 10-mil thickness (plating is
less than 1-mil thick) our metalcoating adds less than four ounces of weight per square foot, provides the
durability of solid cast metal and is non-corrosive. Our metalcoating and urethane substrate has a Class
1-Class A fire rating.
Our proprietary metalcoated urethane substrate may be used for interior and exterior applications. All
products can be easily cut or mitered using a wet or dry saw. The metal will not chip, flake or peel from any
cutting or drilling. Field tile or tile with low relief may also be used for floor application. Tile may be used
in a shower or pool area, around a cooktop, behind a backsplash and range hood and around fireplaces with
a minimum of a 2-inch separation from heat source. For Installation please refer to the Installation page in

Landmark Mosaics are available in all metals & finishes (refer to page 7) with seven stone choices (below). Mosaics shown
in the catalog can be customized to meet your specified design requirements. The following modifications can be made
without any additional charge:
• Combine multiple metals & finishes
• Remove or exchange metal pieces (tile or onlays of similar size)
• Mix stone choices for border and field
• Change stone cuts on some designs
To ensure your selection is accurate and precise, you are required to fill out the corresponding Stone Placement Form,
including any of the modifications listed above. Stone Placement Forms can be found in the Mosaic Line Drawing
Workbook or contact the Landmark Marketing Department ([email protected]) for emailable forms.
CUSTOM MOSAIC QUOTES
Any size change qualifies as a custom mosaic. Submit your custom mosaic sketch or line drawing for a quote. We are happy
to assist in the design of your custom masterpiece and our initial design efforts are included in the quoted price without a
deposit. However, more extensive design work or modifications may require a purchase order commitment.
METAL, STONE & GLASS - 5/8” GRID or 3/4” STIXS
Metal, stone & glass or stone & glass blends are featured in some of our standard mosaics and can be incorporated into
custom mosaic designs as well. Not all existing mosaic designs can use the metal, stone & glass blends to replace stone, please

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Landmark metalcoating is real metal and is considered to be a living finish. As the metal ages, it will take on its own natural
look. To avoid damaging the metal finish and to protect the natural beauty of the finish, please follow the Care Instructions
closely.
FOR HIGH POLISH AND HIGHLIGHT POLISH
These finishes have no protective coating and will oxidize and age naturally.

Never use harsh cleaners (such as Lysol®, Pine Sol® or Bleach) or soft scrub cleaners. Harsh chemicals may damage
the finish.
To avoid water spots, dry all surfaces after each use.
Water spots and unwanted patina may be removed by applying a small amount of non-abrasive GOJO® hand
cleaner with a soft cloth or gently with extra fine steel wool. Then buff with a soft cloth.
If you wish to polish tarnished high polish tile, use a product such as Cape Cod® Metal Polishing Cloth or a nonchalking metal polish.
There is no maintenance required for tile installed below the water line.
FOR ANTIQUE, OIL RUB, VERDI, RUST AND WROUGHT FINISHES
These finishes have been oiled to enhance and seal the finish.

Mineral oil or oil based polish or cleaner may be used to maintain an oil rubbed appearance and minimize spotting.
To remove unwanted green (due to moisture) from anitque and oil rubbed finishes use a small amount of nonabrasive GOJO® hand cleaner with a soft cloth.
Extra fine steel wool along with a small amount of non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner may be used to remove excess
verdi or to lighten oil rubbed and antique finishes. Gently rub tile until finish is achieved, then buff with a soft cloth.

These finishes have a protective coating and will protect the finish from water spots and the natural effects of aging.

INSTALLATION
TILE
All tile may be used for wall application. Low relief and field tile is recommended for floor applications. Tile with high relief
may not be suitable for floor applications. Tile may be installed in showers and in pools and their surrounding areas. Tile may
be used in kitchen backsplashes, on range hoods and around cook tops and fireplaces (must leave a minimum 2-inch separation
from heat source). All tile can be easily drilled and cut or mitered using a wet or dry saw. The metal will not chip, flake or peel
from any cutting or drilling.
NOTE: Installed tile must use a high-grade thin-set mortar such as Laticrete® 254 Platinum. If not using mortar, construction
adhesive may be used, see onlay instructions below.
Tile cut or mitered using a wet saw should be wiped dry with a soft cloth to prevent spotting. Use non-abrasive GOJO® hand
cleaner sparingly with extra fine steel wool to remove water spots and unwanted green patina.
Sanded and unsanded grout may be used. Mask off tile to eliminate grout on all relief pieces and avoid scratching the finish.
Using a small brush and water only, remove excess grout from tile before it dries. Towel dry to avoid water spots. All grout must
be removed from the surface before it dries to eliminate damaging the finish. Non-abrasive GOJO® hand cleaner may be applied
lightly before grouting as a grout release and to remove grout haze on all surfaces after grout dries.
Warning: If using epoxy grout, all tile must be masked off. Using a solvent to clean residual epoxy grout can damage the finish.
Polishing paste and abrasive polishing products are not recommended. Stone enhancers, sealers and cleaners may be used and
will not prevent metal from aging.
ONLAYS
Onlays and most tile may be mounted over an existing substrate. For stone, glass and ceramic use a 2-part epoxy and seal
around edges with a clear bead of silicone. Tile may also be glued to metal or wood and can be used for exterior application or
around a heat source (must leave a minimum 2-inch separation) using an appropriate adhesive or wood bond such as SikaBond®
Construction Adhesive. NOTE: You must allow adhesive to dry (5-7 days), then run a clear bead of silicone around outside
edges to keep moisture out.
PLAQUES
Plaques and Plaque Onlays must be kept flat until installation. If warping does occur, lay the piece on a flat warm surface (in
the sun) and it will flatten. An attempt to flatten a cold piece could cause damage. Plaques can be used behind cooktops or as
an inset in showers and cabinets. For plaques, use a product such as SikaBond® Construction Adhesive along with a quick set
2- part epoxy on the corners to hold until the adhesive sets. NOTE: You must allow adhesive to dry (5-7 days), then run a clear
bead of silicone around outside edges to keep moisture out.
Plaques may also be drilled in back and attached to substrate for added hold along with the adhesive.
KORBELS
Korbels come with a slot in the back for ease of hanging or can be drilled for alternative mounting methods.
CABINET HARDWARE
Pull Knobs can be predrilled for the appropriate size screw. Use a 2-part epoxy or a product like Wood & Furniture Goop® for
Pull Handles, we do not recommend drilling.

MOSAICS
This information is provided as installation guidance, not as specific instructions. Please follow the manufacturer’s installation
instructions for all products used. We also recommend that an experienced mosaic installer perform the mosaic installation.
Mosaics should be kept flat in an enclosed box in a cool dry place until installation begins. Never expose mesh-backed mosaics
to moisture or temperatures above 95 degrees. To move or transport a mosaic, leave plastic sheet on back and carefully place on
a piece of plywood or other solid surface. Always remove plastic sheet before installation.
Mosaic medallions up to 48” are usually shipped as one piece. Larger medallions may be shipped in multiple pieces. Mosaic
decos, connectors and liners should only be picked up one piece at a time. Pick mosaics up with two hands at top or sides placing
hands near corners or at corners of one side of the piece. In some cases, this operation may require two or more people. Lift
mosaic straight up and place the opposite end of the mosaic in the mortar first. Always take care to align piece in exact location
so as not to require adjustment later. Then proceed with mosaic stone installation techniques.

lifting or falling out. Mesh-backed mosaics depend on the application of grout for their strength and resistance to the elements.

enhance the natural beauty, character and uniqueness of the tile. New tile (especially high polish, verdi and rust finishes) may
not look exactly like the tile on concept boards that have been grouted, cleaned, polished, sealed and had time to age.
Please refer to Care Instructions for proper maintenance.
A copy of the Installation and Care Instructions along with a specification sheet (packing slip with product photo, item number
and size) is included with all orders.

As with all handmade products, a certain amount of variation in color, shade, tone and size is to be expected. Such variations
only enhance the beauty, character and uniqueness of these products. Please be advised that any one sample cannot represent
all pieces as they are all individually polished by hand. Every attempt is made to match finishes as closely as possible. All
dimensions provided are approximate. Please examine each item for defects immediately after delivery. Any discrepancies in
metal, finish, size, design or quality must be noted in writing to Landmark within five business days following receipt of material
and prior to installation, otherwise buyer waives all rights to such claim. All claims regarding damage or short shipments must
be made in writing to the carrier and Landmark within five business days of delivery. We make no guarantees as to suitability of
our products. Landmark Metalcoat reserves the right to modify designs and materials or to discontinue products without prior
notice. All designs remain the property of Landmark Metalcoat and may not be duplicated.
REVISIONS OR CANCELLATIONS
Revisions must be received within 24 hours after receipt of your signed Confirmation Invoice, otherwise a fee may apply. All
orders are made to your exact specifications (metal and finish). Please check every item very carefully to ensure accuracy before
signing your Confirmation Invoice. Once we receive your Confirmation Invoice, the order cannot be cancelled. The invoice is
final & binding.
PACKING & HANDLING FEES
A 4% to 6% fee will be charged on orders depending on the type of packaging required. To ensure that all products are received
in perfect condition, each piece is individually wrapped and packed according to style and includes a specification sheet with
Installation and Care Instructions. This fee will be included on your Confirmation Invoice.
SHIPPING
Landmark does not keep any finished products in stock. Tile orders ship within 2-3 weeks. Plaque and Korbel orders ship
within 3-4 weeks. Mosaic orders ship within 3-6 weeks. Sink orders ship within 4-6 weeks. All products will be shipped F.O.B.
Temecula, California. For information regarding damage and claims refer to Warranty Information.
RETURNS
Returns are accepted on a case-by-case basis and require an authorization form. No returns are accepted on installed products.
No returns are accepted after 10 days following the receipt of materials. All accepted returns are subject to a 25% return fee.
Incorrect order placed by showroom, variations in size, color and finish shall NOT be deemed as cause for return.

WARRANTY INFORMATION
PRODUCT WARRANTY
Landmark Metalcoat offers a lifetime guarantee that the metalcoating will not delaminate from the substrate. When installed
and maintained properly the metalcoating will not chip, flake or peel under normal usage. Certain foods and acids may cause
changes in the finish. Our metalcoating has the same aging qualities as real metal and needs to be cared for as such. Please refer
to our Care Instructions included with every order.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
1. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, abuse or accident during and/or after installation.
2. Defects resulting from any modification or improper usage/installation.
3. Changes or damage to the finish.
DAMAGES AND CLAIMS
1. All claims for damages, apparent or concealed, should be made in writing to Landmark Metalcoat within five (5) days after
receipt of merchandise.
2. Failure to do so within the five (5) day period shall constitute acceptance of the merchandise and waiver all future claims.
3. Landmark Metalcoat will, at its own discretion, replace or repair damaged or defective merchandise within a reasonable time
period.
4. It is understood that all claims for damages or loss of material in transit shall be filed by the buyer directly with the carrier
and NOT with Landmark Metalcoat.
5. If packages are received in damaged condition, please note this on the carriers receipt. Be sure to save all damaged cartons and
packing materials for presentation to carrier when filing claims.
6. Landmark Metalcoat will not accept liability for any collateral damages caused by failure of products supplied.
7. All claims for labor, shipping cost, incidental or consequential damages will not be accepted.
