Mabalingwe Newsletter – Dec 2015
MABALINGWE
NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2015
Dear Shareholder
This year has flown by! We cannot believe
we are in the last month of 2015. What a
memorable year it has been for Mabalingwe.
The second half of 2015 has been no
different to the first, with new developments,
happenings and activities. We look forward
to sharing the updates with you.
Mabalingwe is always looking to the future and
shifting gears to ensure our shareholders and guests
enjoy only the best experience at our beautiful,
unique resort.
We have introduced guest Meet & Greet sessions
in order to establish open lines of communication
between guests and the Resort. We encourage guest
feedback via this platform and we also encourage
guests to provide feedback on our fantastic
Facebook page – Mabalingwe Nature Reserve –VRS.

WHAT’S NEW?
In the second half of 2015, there was much focus on
the entertainment areas. A zone has been ear-marked
for new PlayStation and tablets; the old PlayStation
room has been revamped into a kiddie’s cinema room
and a table tennis table has been added on the roof.
Finally, to make sure we have our younger visitors’
stamp of approval we have added brand new swings
at the rear end of the pool.
“Let the children laugh. And you’ll hear the
laughter that the world should have.”
ADDED VALUE
New Playstation & Tablet zone
We know you cherish the moments of
your stay at Mabalingwe and we want to
make the roads you travel as smooth as
possible. With this in mind, we continue
to upgrade our throughways and mend
potholes to make sure you focus on family
and the holiday when you hit the road and
not the holes and bumps in it.
UNIQUELY MABALINGWE
Want to take a walk on the wild side? A weekly bush walk guided
by a ranger has started in Ingwe Camp. Guests get the unique
opportunity to explore the wildlife on foot and learn oodles of
interesting facts provided by the ranger.
Mabalingwe hosted Lion Man 2015 MTB race with great success.
1500 cyclists took part in this prestigious mountain bike race in the
beautiful bushveld surrounding the Resort.

REFURBS & UPGRADES
New curtains
There have been numerous upgrade and refurbishment projects completed in 2015.
General Upgrades:
The road between Ingwe and Phiri camps has been improved. In Ingwe Camp, selected roads
have been widened; on Phiri Road all potholes to date have been fixed and its edges smoothed.
The water erosion ditch has been restored and rock outcrops have been strategically placed to
minimise erosion. The game view area also has new signage boards.
Ingwe camp now has a hippo fence surrounding it – to prevent any unwanted encounters
between guests and hippos.
Unit Upgrades:
We are proud to announce that all units have been successfully repainted, refurbished and
improved in 2015!
Part of the improvements included taking care of monkey business– all units have been
equipped with monkey windows to prevent the mischievous critters from entering and rearranging
your chalets. Kubu, Phiri and Kwalata Camps have also been fitted with new monkey-proof sliding
doors.
The chalet bedrooms have received new white linen that brighten up the rooms and give them a
wonderfully warm feeling. Curtains have also been put up in all chalets and new patio cushions, as
well as throws have been added – giving the chalets a lovely finished look.
Extra lights have been put up in the lounge areas and all bulbs have been replaced by LED, energyefficient ones. Also, all units have been equipped with new LED spotlights and all braai grids have
been replaced. To make sure our guests remain cool, calm and collected we have fixed
ceiling fans in the chalets.
The front doors have also been replaced by solid, four lever lock doors, offering guests more
security at the units.

NO BEATING AROUND THE BUSHES
The Resort and Management’s plans for Mabalingwe are straightforward - we wish to give
our cherished shareholders only the best experience. With this in mind, we have THREE GOALS:
1.
Giving All We Got!
“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.”
We strive to improve in every way, every year. This bore fruit in 2015 when Mabalingwe
was nominated for one of the most sought-after awards – Top Gold Crown Resort, Large Category. It is an achievement to even be nominated for this award. We look forward to seeing what our future holds.
2.
Dream it! Believe it! Achieve it!
We consistently ensure that all units, facilities and grounds are maintained and upgraded and will continue to do so in the future.
3.
Spring Day
Life isn’t a Matter of Milestones, but Moments!
All the plans and refurbishments undertaken are designed to ensure that you and your family make only the best memories at your prized space in the bush, your place at Mabalingwe.
In Closing
As the sun sets on 2015 and with a glorious summer
in full swing, we wish you a happy, peaceful Festive
Season and a prosperous year in 2016. To leave you
with a final thought as we see the end of 2015 – nature
does not hurry yet everything is accomplished.
