Der Erfahrungsaustausch zwischen
Züchtern dieser edlen Pferde war schon
immer ein wichtiges Bindeglied zwischen
verschiedenen Ländern weltweit.

The exchange of information concerning
breeding and handling of this precious horse
has been always an important link between
breeders all over the world.
Thank to „Live Stream“ alle breeders are
now able world wide to watch this event.

Teilnahmeberechtigung
Conditions of Entry
Teilnahmeberechtigt sind alle Pferde, die in einem WAHOanerkannten Stutbuch bei Nennschluss registriert sind.
Die auf Platz 1-5 platzierten Pferde dieser Schau qualifizieren sich für Titelschauen und A-Schauen, für die der
Veranstalter eine Qualifikation verlangt.
Open to Arab horses registered in any WAHO recognized
studbook by the closing date of entries. The horses placed
1st to 5th on this show qualify for taking part in A-Shows
and Title shows for which qualifications are required.
Teilnahmebeschränkung
Title Show or A Show Champion Gold and Silver medal winners are not allowed to take part in a B show for
the rest of that calendar year and the two calendar years
following, unless the horse has passed from a junior to a
senior category.
Anybody entering an overqualified horse will be liable to a
fine of 600 Euro and the horse will be disqualified.
Titel und A-Schau-Champion (Gold) dürfen für den Rest
des Kalenderjahres und für die beiden folgenden Kalenderjahre nicht an B-Schauen teilnehmen, sofern sie nicht von
Junior nach Senior wechseln. Wer ein überqualifiziertes
Pferd meldet, wird mit einer Buße von 600 Euro belangt,
das Pferd wird disqualifiziert.

according to the points given but are judged individually by
all judges (with due regard to possible conflicts of interest).
Qualificated for the National Championships are the 2 best
placed austrian horses of each class.
Die nationale und die internationale Championatsvergabe erfolgt nicht
analog zu den in der Klasse erzielten Punkten, sondern mittels gesondertem Richten durch alle anwesenden Richter (unter Berücksichtigung eventueller Befangenheitsgründe). Qualifiziert zum Nationalen
Championat sind die beiden bestbenoteten österreichischen
Pferde jeder Klasse. (kann z.B. 5. und 7. Platz sein)

Vier Richter (+ 1 Ersatzrichter rotierend) richten jede Klasse unabhängig voneinander ohne Katalog nach folgenden Kriterien:
a) Typ (Rasse- und Geschlechtstyp)
b) Kopf und Hals
c) Gebäude und Oberlinie
d) Fundament
e) Bewegungen (Schritt und Trab)
Zugrunde gelegt wird das 20-Punkte-System mit halben Punkten.
Regel für ex aequo
Im Falle von Punktgleichheit (ex aequo) bei den Pferden, so sie sich in einer Schauklasse qualifiziert haben, wird die höchste
Platzierung an das Pferd mit der höchsten Typnote vergeben. Liegt weiterhin Punktgleichheit vor, wird die höhere Platzierung
an das Pferd mit den höchsten Bewegungsnoten vergeben. Fällt dadurch immer noch keine Entscheidung, wird ein Richter
durch ein Los gezogen, und gibt seine Präferenz bekannt.
(Dies gilt für die Plätze 1 - 5 jeder Einzelklasse.)
Championate werden vergleichend wie folgt gerichtet:
Regeln für die Championate
1.) Die Championate werden wie folgt ermittelt:
a.) Erstplatzierte Pferde werden nach dem Alter nebeneinander in einer Reihe aufgestellt, die zweitplatzierten Pferde dahinter in der gleichen Reihenfolge.
b.) Erstplazierte Pferde werden einzeln in der Bewegung und anschließend im Stand beurteilt.
c.) Der Goldmedaillengewinner wird aus den erstplazierten Pferden mittels schriftlicher Stimme jedes Richters gewählt. Das
am besten platzierte Pferd wird Goldemedaillengewinner. Bei einem ex aequo wird das Pferd mit der höchsten Punktzahl
in seiner Klasse zum Goldmedaillengewinner ernannt. Im Falle eines weiteren ex aequo wird die Regel für ex aequo angewandt. (s. Benotungssystem Einzelklassen.)
Die Richter dürfen nicht miteinander kommunizieren.
2.) Der Silbermedaillengewinner werden auf dieselbe Weise aus allen übrigen erst- und zweitplatzierten Pferden gewählt,
die sich für das Championat qualifiziert hatten.
3.) Der Bronzemedaillengewinner wird unter Anwendung des gleichen Systems ermittelt, mit dem der Silbermedaillengewinner ausgewählt wurde.
Die von den Richtern abgegebenen Stimmen werden unmittelbar nach den Championaten im Schaubüro publiziert.
4.) Ein viertes Pferd muss ermittelt werden, das zum Bronzemedaillen-Gewinner ernannt wird, falls einer der drei MedaillenGewinner disqualifiziert wird. Ist dieses Pferd über die Bewertungsbögen nicht offensichtlich, müssen die Richter ein Pferd
nennen. Dieses Pferd wird nicht öffentlich bekanntgegeben. Für den Fall, dass zwei oder mehr Medaillengewinner
disqualifiziert werden, findet kein weiterer Ersatz statt.
5.) Wenn ein in seiner Klasse erstplatziertes Pferd nicht in der Lage ist, am Championat teilzunehmen, rückt das zweitplatzierte Pferd in der Klasse auf und wird mit den anderen erstplatzierten Pferden zusammen gerichtet. Sollte ein erstplatziertes Pferd aus irgendeinem Grund von den Richtern des Ringes verwiesen oder vom Vorführer herausgeführt werden, egal
aus welchem Grund, so gilt das Pferd als am Championat teilgenommen und deshalb wird das zweitplatzierte Pferd nicht
zusammen mit den anderen erstplatzierten Pferden gerichtet.
Ersatz für abwesende erst- oder zweitplatzierte Pferde durch drittplatzierte oder darunter platzierte Pferde ist nicht erlaubt.
6.) Alle Pferde, die sich für die Championate in ihren Klassen qualifizieren, müssen am jeweiligen Championat teilnehmen.
Bei Abwesenheit wird das Pferd disqualifiziert, seine Benotung und Klassenplatzierung gelöscht und es darf für ein Jahr nicht
mehr an Schauen, beginnend mit Datum dieser Schau, teilnehmen, außer, es liegt ein Attest des DC-Tierarztes vor.
Im Falle einer Disqualifizierung rücken Pferde, die hinter dem disqualifizierten Pferd platziert sind, einen Platz nach vorne,
dürfen aber nicht am Championat teilnehmen.
Fohlenklassen:
Fohlen müssen mindestens 1 Monat alt sein am Tag der Schau und müssen bis 6 Monate bei Fuß der Mutter gezeigt werden.
Das Vorführen der Fohlen muss an der Hand erfolgen. Bei der Einzelvorstellung dürfen Sie in Bewegung freigelassen werden,
damit die Gänge ungezwungen gezeigt werden können. Fohlen werden nicht nach dem oben beschriebenen Richtsystem
bewertet, sondern gemeinsam von den Richtern vergleichend gerichtet, d.h. die Richter notieren gemeinsam die Rangierung
in der Klasse. Die Verwendung von Metallhalfter und Halfter mit Metallketten ist verboten.

Scoring System
judging the classes
4 Judges judge each class (+ 1 judge rotating) independently from one another and without catalogue according to the
following criteria:
a) type,
b) head and neck,
c) body and topline,
d) legs,
e) movement,
based on the 20-points-system (+ half points allowed).
Rules for Ties in Qualifying Places
In the event of a tie in the qualifying places of a class, the higher place will be given to the horse with the most points for
type. If there is still a tie, the higher place will be given to the horse with the most points for movement. Failing a decision on
either of these, one judge chosen by ballot will name his preference. (for place 1-5.)
Rules for Championships
1.) Championships will be judged as follows:
a) The horses placed first in their class line up ordered according to age. The horses placed second in their class line up
behind them in the same order.
b) The first placed horses will be judged individually, standing and trotting.
c) The Champion Gold medal winner is selected from amongst the horses placed first in their class by individual written
votes from each judge. The best placed horse will be Champion Gold medal winner. In the event of a tie, the horse that
received the highest number of points in its class will be declared Champion Gold medal winner. In the event of a further
tie, the „Rules for Ties in Qualifying Places“ will apply.
The judges will not discuss the horses.
2.) The Silvermedalwinner will be selected in the same way as the Goldmedallist from all other horses that have qualified
for the Championship.
3.) The Bronzemedalwinner will be selected using the same system used to select the Silver medallist.
The votes of the judges in the Championships will be announced and will be published at the show office immediately after
the judging has finished.
4.) A fourth horse will be selected, which will become the Bronzemedal winner should one of the three medal winners
be disqualified. If this exhibit is not apparent from the voting papers, the judges will be asked to nominate one. This horse
will not be announced. In the event that two or more of the medal winners are disqualified, no further substitution will be
made.
5.) If a horse placed first in its class is not able to take part in the Championship, the horse placed second in the class will
move forward and be judged with the other horses placed first. Should a horse placed first be sent out of the ring by the
judges or taken out by the handler for any reason, it will be deemed to have taken part in the championship and, therefore, the second placed horse will not be judged with the other first placed horses. Substitutions for absent first- placed or
second-placed horses by third-placed or lower-ranked horses will not be permitted.
6.) All horses that qualify for their respective Championships must take part in the Championship.
Unless a certificate from the DC veterinarian is produced, failure to compete will disqualify the horse from the show, with
its record of score and class placing being deleted and the horse being disqualified from showing for the period of one year
as from the date of the show.
In the event of a disqualification, horses placed behind the disqualified horse will move up a place in the class but not be
entitled to enter the Championship.
foal classes:
Foals must have a minimum age of one month at the date of the show, and must be shown at foot (with the dam) up to 6
months of age. Foals must be show in-hand, during the individual presentation they might be left loose to show their movement. The comparative judging system is used. The use of metal halters and halters with metal chains is forbidden.

Allgemeine Bestimmungen
1. ) Für die Veranstaltungen gelten die beiliegenden Regeln des „Blue Book 2013“ der European Arab Horse Show Commission (EAHSC). Die Teilnehmer unterwerfen sich der auf die Schauveranstaltung beschränkten und auf der Grundlage des in
der Ausschreibung festgelegten Bewertungssystems getroffenen Entscheidung der Richter.
Diese sind vom Veranstalter eingeladen, ehrenamtlich tätig und nicht Beauftragte der Zuchtverbände, denen sie angehören.
2. ) Alle Pferde müssen frei sein von ansteckenden Krankheiten und aus einem seuchenfreien Bestand kommen.
Sie müssen wirksam gegen INFLUENZA geimpft sein. (Impfungen müssen im 12 Monats-Intervall erfolgen.)
Die zuletzt durchgeführte Impfung darf maximal 7 Tage vor Erreichen des Schaugeländes gemacht werden.
Der Impfpaß ist vor Ort vorzulegen und dem Nennungsformular ist eine Kopie des Impfpasses beizulegen.
Bei Fehlen des Passes ist der zuständige Tierarzt ermächtigt, eine kostenpflichtige Untersuchung durchzuführen.
Der Veranstalter ist berechtigt, nach Entscheidung des Tierarztes Pferde in Quarantäne zu verweisen.
3.) Transportkostenentschädigung wird nicht gezahlt.
4.) Boxenreservierungen sind zusammen mit der Nennung abzugeben!
Sie werden nur dann berücksichtigt, wenn sie gemeinsam mit dem Nenngeld bezahlt werden.
Box : 120 Euro für die gesamte Veranstaltung, inclusive erster Späne-Einstreu.
Anlieferung ist ab Donnerstag nachmittag möglich.

Sollte der Veranstalter nach Nennungsschluss eingegangene Meldungen oder Ummeldungen noch akzeptieren, erhebt er das
doppelte Nenngeld pro Pferd, das ebenfalls im Voraus zu entrichten ist.
6.) Der Veranstalter und die Organisatoren übernehmen keine Haftung bei Unglücksfällen, Diebstahl, Feuer oder Schäden
anderer Art. Die Eintragungen in allen Teilen des Kataloges erfolgen ohne Gewähr. Irrtümer vorbehalten. Gewährleistungsund Regressansprüche aus Katalogeintragungen gegenüber dem Schauorganisator, bzw. dem Erstelter des Kataloges, sind daher ausdrücklich ausgeschlossen. Der Veranstalter und die Organisatoren haftet nicht für Schäden und Unfälle an Teilnehmern,
Pferdepflegern, Zuschauern und Zubehör. Den Weisungen der Ordner und der Organisationsleitung ist Folge zu leisten.
7. ) Die Vorführer werden gebeten, ordentlich gekleidet zu sein bzw. in ihrem Herkunftsland übliche Kleidung (ohne Reklameaufschrift) zu tragen.
Hengste im Alter von 3 Jahren und darüber müssen mit sicherem und für das Pferd angenehmen Zaum und Gebiß vorgeführt werden. Alle Vorführhalfter ohne Gebiss müssen ebenfalls sicher und angenehm für das Pferd sein.
8.) Pro Pferd darf sich nur ein Vorführer im Ring befinden.
9. ) Gerätschaften zur Versorgung der Pferde sind mitzubringen.
10.) Pferde können auf die Verwendung von verbotenen Substanzen getestet werden. Ist das Ergebnis positiv, gehen die Kosten zu Lasten des Pferdebesitzers. Von den Ausstellern wird erwartet, dass sie sich entsprechend den Regeln des ethischen
Schauverhaltens auf dem Gelände bewegen. Sie werden hierfür für sich selbst und ihre Vorführer verantwortlich gemacht.
Das Schaukomitee, die Richter, das Disziplinarkomitees und die eingesetzten Stewards sind nicht haftbar für die Folgen der
von ihnen getroffenen Entscheidungen.
11.) Nenngeld und Boxengeld werden nicht rückerstattet.
12.) Der Veranstalter behält sich das Recht vor, einzelne Klassen zusammenzulegen, zu teilen oder ausfallen zu lassen.
Klassen mit über 16 Nennungen werden geteilt. Klassen mit weniger als 3 Nennungen werden zusammengelegt.
13.) Startnummern werden vom Veranstalter gegen ein Pfand von 20 Euro ausgegeben.
14.) Jedes Pferd das sich im Schauring losreißt, muß sofort weitergeführt werden. Sollte sich das Pferd ein zweites mal
losreissen, wird es disqualifiziert. (DC´s können eine Strafe bis zu 100 Euro verhängen)
15.) Zusätzliche Einstreu kann beim Stallmeister gekauft werden.
16.) Eine Haftpflichtversicherung für jedes gemeldete Pferd ist Pflicht.

General Conditions
1. ) This event is governed by the attached rules established by the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations
„Blue Book 2013“. Participants submit themselves to the judges‘ decisions that are limited to that particular show event and
based on the classification system fixed in the schedule. Judges and officials are invited by the organizer, they work honorary
and are not representatives of the societies they belong to.
2. ) All horses must be free from infections and from a home stock free of epidemic diseases. They must be effectively vaccinated against INFLUENZA. (Booster vaccinations must be given at 12 month interval)
No vaccination may be given within 7 days of the day of arrival at the ECAHO event.
The Vaccination Certificate must be presented at the show and a copy of the Vaccination Certificate has to be attached to
the entry form. In case of a missing Vaccination Certificate the veterinarian on duty is allowed to examine the horse, liable
for the costs is the owner of the horse. Any horse may be quarantined at the discretion of the veterinarian.
3. ) No compensation for the transportationcosts can be granted.
4. ) Reservation of box stables have to be made together with the entry and can only be considered if the stable-fee has
been paid.
Box: 120 Euro for the whole event, inclusive first wood shaving.
Delivery of the horses is possible from thursday afternoon.
5. )
The entry fee is 100 Euro per horse.

The fees have to be paid in advance by the exhibitor; otherwise the Organisers can exclude horses from the show.
Should the Organisers accept entries or changes after the closing date, the double entry fee has to be paid in advance.
6.) The organisers shall not be liable for death, injury, disease or damage to any person, horse
or property however caused. All catalog entries are subject to change, there is no limit or warranty. Therefore any warranty
claims aganst the organizer or the person responsible for the catalgogue are explicitely excluded. The Organisers are not
liable for damages and accidents to participants, grooms, audience or fittings, nor are they liable for theft. Instructions of
officials and organizer have to be complied with.
7. ) The handlers are asked to wear proper and tidy clothes.They are allowed to wear any costume normally worn in their
country of origin but without any advertising on it.
Stallions and colts aged three years and over must be shown wearing bridles and bits that are both secure and comfortable for the horse. All bridles without bits are equally to be both secure and comfortable for the horse.
8.) Only one handler per exhibit is permitted in the ring at any one time
9.) Stable equipment has to be provided by the exhibitors.
10.) Horses may be dope tested on request of the DCs. In case the result is positive, costs have to be carried by the owner
of the horse. All exhibitors will be expected to conduct themselves in the spirit of the rules of ethical show behavior and
will be held responsible for themselves and their handlers. The show committee, the judges, the disciplinary committee and
the stewards shall not be liable for any consequence of any decision they may make.
11.) Entry and stable fee will not be refunded.
12.) Classes with more than 16 horses entered will be divided. Classes with less than 3 horses entered will be combined
with a group of the same sex.
13.) Exhibit numbers will be distributed from the Organiser’s office for a deposit of 20 Euro
14.) Any horse becoming loose in the show ring will immediately continue to be shown and is subject to a penalty (of a
fine not exceeding 100 Euro) at the discretion of the DC. Should the horse become loose a second time it will be
disqualified.
15.) Additional bedding can be ordered and purchased from the barnmaster.
16.) A liability insurance for the horse is required.

Rules for Conduct of Shows Blue Book 2013
1. By participating at a show, show organisers, judges ,exhibitors, owners and handlers agree that they will unconditionally submit themselves
and the persons accompanying them to the „Rules for Conduct of Shows“ and, as regards veterinary matters and drug misuse, to the relevant
ECAHO Veterinary Regulations and ECAHO Rules for Medication Control. The accompanying persons include e.g. trainers or persons representing the show organizer as well as assistants of any of those persons. They will accept the jurisdiction of the Disciplinary Committee (DC),
the Standing Disciplinary Committee (SDC) and the ECAHO Appeals Committee (EAC). Show organisers are not permitted to introduce rules
which are in conflict with the EAHSC „Rules for Conduct of Shows“. The person who has signed the entry form will be considered to be the
person responsible for the horse in question. These Rules will be interpreted when necessary under the provisions of the laws of Switzerland.
2. Horses must be accompanied at the show by a horse passport containing all vaccination records.
Those horses coming from a country that does not issue a passport, must be accompanied by an official Registration document which includes
a graphic description and all vaccination records. If, when a horse attends a show, it’s passport is at the Registry for any reason, then a letter from
the registrar attesting to this must be provided along with a photo-copy of the passport, including the description and the vaccination records.
The show organizer
3. The show organiser reserves the right to refuse an entry, but must give the reason for refusal in writing.
4. The show organizer will issue a printed show catalogue.The name of every horse has to be printed in the show catalogue, as well as the
names of sire and dam, (and maternal grandsire if possible) date of birth, colour, the names of the breeder and the owner. Should a horse’s name
not be mentioned in the catalogue, its participation at the show will be allowed only if the exhibitor cannot be blamed for the omission; it will be
for the DC to decide.
The show catalogue shall furthermore contain:
• The Rules for Conduct of Shows, • The judging system used, the rules for ties and the rules for championships
•For Shows outside Europe (as defined by the Constitution of ECAHO, Art. 3.2) where prize money is allowed, the total amount and distribution of prize money.
•For Shows inside Europe (as defined by the Constitution of ECAHO, Art. 3.2) where prize money is allowed, the total amount and distribution of prize money. The total prize fund permitted is Euro 5000.
5. No class may be split unlesst here are more than16 horses entered.
Combination of a class with the next age group of the same sex is permitted if the number of entries for the class is below three.
6. a)No announcement indicating the identity, breeding or past performance of exhibits, or the identity of their owners will be made during
judging. It is, however, permissible for this information to be given out after the judges score sheets have been collected for each exhibit.
b) Show organisers will not release details of competitors or their exhibits to the press at any time prior to the catalogue being put on sale at
the showground. Catalogues will not be offered for sale, published or posted on internet more than one day before the commencement of the
show.
7. No member of the show organising team may judge, or officiate as member of the Disciplinary Committee.
8. The show organizers will ensure a proper rotation of judges.
9. The show organiser will provide appropriate transport, accommodation and meals during the show, for the judges, DC members, ring master
and any other ECAHO show officials. If a judge, DC member or ring master cancels the invitation after the travel arrangements have been made,
he will pay all the costs arising out of this booking.
10.No gifts in the form of fees or money are allowed to be paid or given by the organiser, nor accepted by the judges, DC members and ring
masters. Material gifts are allowed.
Judges
11. EAHSC listed judges and judges invited to judge at ECAHO affiliated shows agree to judge with integrity and honesty and to carry out their
judging duties solely with the objects of ECAHO and the welfare of the horses in mind.
12. Judges will not consult the show catalogue before or during the show at which they are judging.
13. a) Judges appointed at a show will not knowingly judge horses concerning which there may be an actual or apparent conflict of interest. No
judge appointed at the show may exhibit, ride, drive or handle an entered horse.
b) Exhibitors will declare on the entry form any actual or apparent conflict or interest with any of the judges invited for the show.
Any exhibitor not declaring an existing conflict of interest will forfeit all entry fees and will be prevented from showing the horse.
c) Organisers will not accept any entries for which any actual or apparent conflict of interest with one of the appointed judges has been
indicated, unless a reserve judge is available.
14. An actual or apparent conflict of interest may occur if a horse is judged that:
• has been bought or sold by the judge either as owner or agent,
• is owned in whole or part by the judge or by a member of the judge‘s family, or business partner in an Arab horse business venture,
• has been leased by the judge, at any time
• has been bred by the judge or is the property of a breeding organization in which the judge is or was an employee,
• has been regularly trained, examined or treated by the judge in a professional capacity,
• is the subject of an on-going negotiation to buy or lease, or a provisional purchase condition to which the judge is a party.
In case of doubt, the DC’s decision will prevail. Any judge may decline to judge any horse if they consider themselves to have a conflict of
interests concerning that horse.
15. In the show ring, all communication between judges and handlers prior to the presentation of prizes will be through the ring master.
16. Judges may withhold any award if in their opinion the exhibit does not merit such an award.
17. The judge, or if more than one, the panel of judges may request that the ring master show a handler a yellow or red card if they consider
that there is abuse to a horse or misconduct.
Conduct of Halter Classes
18. All handlers at A and Title Shows must be in possession of a valid handlers permit which they must present to the DC in order to participate
in the Show.
19. Handlers will be neatly dressed. They may wear any costume normally worn in their country of origin. Handlers will not wear clothes carrying
any form of advertising which discloses the connection of the horse they are handling.
20. The judge(s) may request that the ringmaster order unruly horses to be withdrawn.
21. The judge(s) may request that the ringmaster ask a handler to open a horse‘s mouth or pick up its feet for inspection.
22. Exhibits are to be judged standing, walking and trotting. Handlers who do not comply with the ring master‘s instructions regarding the above
may be given a Yellow/Red card by the ring master.

23. a) Horses will appear in the collecting ring no less than 10 minutes before the start of the class.
b) Exhibits that appear late (missing the walk around the ring) will be excluded from the class.
24. Stallions and colts aged three years and over must be shown wearing bridles and bits that are both secure and comfortable for the horse. All bridles without bits are equally to be both secure and comfortable for the horse.
25. a) Any horse becoming loose in the collecting ring is subject to a penalty (of a fine not exceeding 100 Euro) at the discretion of the DC.
b) Any horse becoming loose in the show ring will immediately continue to be shown and is subject to a penalty (of a fine not exceeding
100 Euro) at the discretion of the DC. Should the horse become loose a second time it will be disqualified.
26. spare.
Soundness
27. Exhibits that appear to be lame may be assessed and placed by the judges. Judges may exclude any horse so lame that assessment will inflict pain.
28. spare
Disguising of Exhibits
29. No alteration of the basic colour of the skin, coat or hooves is permitted. Hoof paints, colourless varnishes, coat dyes, glitter spray and cosmetic operations including skin grafts are forbidden. Colourless hoof oils, Vaseline or oil and white chalk used on white legs may be accepted.
30. Artificial methods of dilating the eyes or affecting the natural action of the horse or otherwise influencing its action or behaviour by oxygenating the bloodstream or by the use of weights or artificially weighted shoes, or by electrical or chemical treatment of any kind at any time before
or during exhibition are forbidden.
Burns, cuts or other marks on the body of any exhibit in such places or positions as to indicate that prohibited methods have been used will be
regarded as full and adequate grounds for exclusion of any exhibit from competition, at the discretion of the DC with veterinary advice.
31. a) In halter classes horses may be fully or partly body-clipped, subject to eyelashes being left uncut, hair inside the ears left unshaved and
tactile hair left intact around the nose, muzzle and the eyes. Horses not fulfilling these criteria will not be allowed to participate. “Balding” is not
encouraged.
b) No equipment intended to alter the natural appearance of the horse is permitted in the stables, including necksweats, neck collars, tail
racks, hobbles or weights. Anyone using such equipment on the showground may be suspended by the DC for the period of the show.
32. spare
Cruelty
33. Excessive whipping or shanking, excessive stimulation by noise or intimidation, excessive circling of the horse, use of electric shock devices or
infliction of pain by any means is forbidden in all parts of the showground or stable areas, at all times.
34. The above offences are punishable by issue of a Yellow/Red card.
Enforcement
35.Verbal warnings: DC members, ringmasters, stewards or show officials may issue verbal
warnings. These are not recorded in the DC report.
36.Yellow and red cards may be issued by DCs and Ringmaster in the collecting ring and the main ring. They are issued to a handler and are
a visible and public warning of an offence having been committed. The date and offence will be recorded in the DC report and must be made
public by announcement at the show and/or on the ECAHO website and/or other usual means of communication of ECAHO. (Deleted – “will
be recorded on the handler’s licence”)
37. A yellow Card may be issued if there is a further offence after a warning or it may be issued without such warning.
38. A red Card will be issued if the handler receives a second yellow card for having committed a further handling offense during the same
show. The offender will then be banned from handling any horses for the rest of the show in which he receives the red card. The horse being
shown by a handler when he receives a red card may be shown by another handler at the end of the class. In the event of a serious offence
involving mistreatment or dangerous behaviour, DCs may issue a red card without prior warning.
39.Any handler disobeying the instructions of any DC member, judge or the ringmaster may be punished immediately by being shown a yellow
or red card.
Veterinary Matters
40. Horses with apparent clinical signs of a disease may not participate at the show at the discretion of the DC Veterinarian. If the DC Veterinarian
diagnoses apparent clinical signs of a contagious disease, the horse must be immediately put into quarantine and may not participate at the show.
41.Vaccination regulations for shows will require 12 months intervals normally, or shorter where local/national authorities mandate it. Such shorter intervals to be shown on the entry form (see Addendum – Equine Influenza Vaccination page 37).
42. All Veterinary treatment necessary at the show ground must be carried out according to ECAHO Veterinary regulations. The person responsible for the horse will ask the vet who treats the horse to complete a treatment form and present it to the DC-vet at the show. Any treatment
given to a horse immediately prior to a show should be recorded on a treatment form by the treating vet and presented to the DC upon arrival
at the show.
43. a) The administration of any substance not a normal nutrient (including irritants applied to the skin or mucous membranes or mydriatic drugs
in the eyes), whether intentionally or unintentionally which may affect the performance, temperament or soundness of an exhibit is forbidden.
b) The DC may order chemical tests on any exhibit.
c) Judges may request the DC to test any horse.
(See the section on “Medication Control” page 28).
Complaints
44.A show organiser, appointed judge, ring master, exhibitor, owner or handler of a horse entered at the show may lodge a complaint alleging
infringement of the rules of the EAHSC, contained in the “Blue Book”. A complaint concerning a horse or handler is to be made in writing within
1 hour of the alleged infringement occurring. Any other complaint, except concerning a complaint about a judge or any other official including
show organisers, is to be made in writing before the end of the show. A deposit of Euro 200,- or equivalent in local currency will be lodged with
the DC and may be retained if the complaint is considered frivolous, at the DC‘s discretion. Such forfeiture belongs to ECAHO.
45. Any complaint about a judge or any other official including the show organisers is to be made in writing and signed by two individuals. Such
complaint must contain any evidence and be sent to the ECAHO executive Secretary with full name and postal address of the complainant
within 3 days of the show. A deposit of Euro 300 must be paid in accordance with the instructions and deadline given by the Executive Secretary.
The procedure will be conducted in accordance with the Rules for Disciplinary Committees, articles 19 et seq.
