Charlie Chaplin a choisi les hauts de
Vevey pour passer les 25 dernières
années de sa vie, si Freddie Mercury a
immortalisé le lac Léman et les cimes
du Grammont sur la pochette de l’album
« Made in Heaven », si Igor Stravinski
a composé le « Sacre du Printemps »
à Montreux ou si le chanteur Prince a
déclamé son amour pour Lavaux dans
une chanson qui porte le nom du célèbre
vignoble en terrasses, classé au Patrimoine Mondial de l’UNESCO.

Chaplin hoch über Vevey niederliess,
um hier seine letzten 25 Lebensjahre zu
verbringen, dass Freddie Mercury dem
Genfersee mit dem Gipfel des Grammont
auf dem Cover seines Albums „Made in
Heaven“ ein Denkmal setzte, dass Igor
Stravinski „Sacre du Printemps“ in
Montreux komponierte, oder dass der
Sänger Prince der Region Lavaux einen
Song widmete, der den Namen der
berühmten UNESCO Weinterrassen trägt.
It was certainly not by chance that Charlie
Chaplin chose to spend the last 25 years
of his life on the hillside behind Vevey, or
that Freddie mercury immortalized Lake
Geneva and the peaks of the Grammont
on the cover of his album “Made in Heaven”, or that Stravinski composed the
“Rite of Spring” at Montreux, or if singer,
Prince, declared his love for Lavaux in
a song called after the famous terraced
vineyard, part of the UNESCO World
Heritage.

Meisters…? Bestimmt ist es ein bisschen von all dem! Aber was auch immer

Montreux Riviera held for Hemingway,
Nabokov, Sissi and so many others?
Perhaps it’s the advantages of the microclimate, or the splendours of a lake
that you cannot but admire, or the surrounding mountains, both impressive
and reassuring, or the sunsets that
resemble the paintings of the masters…? No doubt all of these aspects!
But whatever the reasons that attracted
you to Montreux Riviera, I would like to
