A peninsula as precious as a pearl.
A tourist resort and spa centre, the cradle of a rich past and a land of beautiful sights and enchanting landscapes:
Sirmione welcomes and amazes with every step.
L’acqua la circonda, la natura rigogliosa
la esalta: non è un caso se Sirmione è definita
“la perla del lago di Garda”. La posizione
strategica ne fece una base per i Romani,
la cui presenza è testimoniata dalle Grotte di
Catullo, resti della villa di famiglia del famoso
poeta che ancora conservano affreschi del
I e II secolo a.C. E già in epoca romana erano
frequentate le rinomate Terme, per le acque
sulfuree che ancora oggi attirano turisti
e regalano momenti di benessere. Risale
invece al XIII secolo il Castello che fa bella
mostra di sé all’inizio del paese, e che
fino a metà dell’Ottocento fu sede militare.
Una terra seducente, da scoprire a poco
a poco, che mette in risalto l’affascinante
“slow mood” della nuova collezione Chervò.
Surrounded by water, enhanced by luxuriant
nature: not for nothing is Sirmione described
as “the pearl of Lake Garda”. Its strategic position
made it a base for the Romans, testimony of their
presence provided by the Grottoes of Catullus
and remains of this famous poet’s family villa
that still preserves frescos from the first and
second century B.C. In Roman times the famous
spa was already a favourite destination, due
to its sulphur-rich waters that still today attract
tourists and ensure wellbeing. Standing proud
in all its beauty at the start of the town, the castle,
meanwhile, dates back to the thirteenth century
and until the mid-nineteenth century it was a
military garrison.A seductive land, somewhere to
discover gradually, which highlights the fascinating
slow mood of the new Chervò collection.
Von Wasser umgeben, von einer üppigen Natur
gesegnet: nicht umsonst wird Sirmione als “Perle
des Gardasees” bezeichnet. Die strategische Lage
ließ die Halbinsel zu einem Stützpunkt für die Römer
werden. Davon zeugen heute noch die Grotte di
Catullo, Mauerreste der Villa des berühmten Dichters,
auf denen sich Fresken aus dem 1. Und 2. Jahrhundert
v.Chr. erhalten haben. Bereits in der Römerzeit wurden
die heilkräftigen Thermen aufgesucht, wegen des
schwefelhaltigen Wassers, die heute noch unzählige
Besucher anziehen und ihr Wohlbefinden steigern.
Aus dem 18. Jahrhundert hingegen stammt die
prächtige Skaligerburg am Ortseingang, die bis Mitte
des 19. Jahrhunderts als Militärstützpunkt diente. Ein
verführerischer Ort, den es Stück für Stück zu entdecken
gilt, und der für die faszinierende Linie “slowmood”
der neuen Chervò-Kollektion eine tolle Bühne darstellt.
