ZUM THEMA
Das
Motorrad
erobert
zwischen
Kult,
Fortbewegungsmittel und technischer Kultur ein
immer
größeres
Marktspektrum.
Die
konkurrenzlose Vielfalt von Fahrzeugtypen und
Motorgattungen, von Scooter, Chopper, Sportbike
und Enduro, vom Zweitaktmotor mit Vergaser
zum Viertaktmotor mit Direkteinspritzung hat
dennoch gemeinsame Akzeptanz- kriterien wie
Leistung und technische Raffinessen. Neben
Vielfalt, Leistungsbedarf und Technikprägungen
geben Kriterien wie Sicherheit, Abgasemission
sowie die rasante Entwicklung der Elektronik und
der Werkstofftechnik die Impulse für eine
komplexe Weiterentwicklung.
Ziel
der
Konferenz
ist
die
Analyse
zukunftsträchtiger
Konzepte
für
Motoren,
Fahrzeugtechnik, Werkstoffe, Reifen, Elektronik,
Sicherheitssysteme und die Synthese der
Entwicklungs-tendenzen
für
MotorradGesamtkonzepte.
Der Veranstaltungsort Zwickau liegt inmitten einer
Region, die international als Wiege des
Motorrades anerkannt ist. Von DKW, Wanderer
oder Diamant bis MZ, waren in Westsachsen
rund 30 Unternehmen im Motorradbau involviert –
die
über
100
jährige
Tradition
der
Ingenieurausbildung in Zwickau war dabei ein
Garant des Erfolges.

THE SUBJECT
The motorcycle conquest as cult, mobility device
and technical culture more and more market
sections. The diversity of vehicles and engines,
from Scooter, Bikes, Chopper to Super
Performance Motorcycle, from two-stroke engine
with carburetor to four-stroke injection engine is
based, however, on same criteria of acceptance,
power and technical ingenuity. Additional criteria
such as safety, pollutant emission limits or the
dynamic development of materials, respectively of
electronic control systems give new impulses for
a complex development in the future.
The aim of the conference is the analysis of valid
concepts for the future development of engines,
vehicle structure and design, materials, tires,
electronic control, safety systems, as well as the
synthesis of development trends for motorcycles
as whole systems.
The conference site is Zwickau, a town in the
middle of a Saxon region which is worldwide
known as “the cradle of motorcycle”. DKW,
Wanderer, Diamant or MZ – are famous
representatives of 30 former motorcycle producers
in this region. A guaranty of their success was
the traditional formation of engineers in the
University of Zwickau, since 1897.
