Paris

Amsterdam
Cycle around town – in Amsterdam, this is vir
tually a must. But this is also an excellent city
for exploring on foot. Vondelpark affords plenty
of room for relaxing, sports and fun, but the
most beautiful backdrop in Amsterdam is still
undoubtedly provided by the canals and the
graceful narrow houses that line the banks.
Hamburg
Huge ships and an unmistakable maritime flair define the atmosphere at
Hamburg’s overseas port while the
St. Pauli district offers an irresistible
mix of urban trendsetters and real
Hamburg originals.
Copenhagen
Stroll around the famous Nyhavn waterfront district, take a boat trip on the
Öresund, enjoy the laid-back maritime
flair of Copenhagen – and wave to the Little Mermaid on her nearby island.
14
Prague
Zurich
Munich
The Bavarian capital has more to offer
than its legendary beer-gardens:
discover culture and great pubs in the
artists’ district of Schwabing, relax in
the English Garden or succumb to the
culinary delights of the bustling food
market, Viktualienmarkt.
Paris
Paris, je t’aime! Experience the city
of a thousand faces and an irresistible
tourist magnet. The charm of French
cafés is the perfect place for a brea
ther from sightseeing at any time of
the year.
Prague
Enjoy the magnificent panorama across
the rooftops of Prague from the huge
castle esplanade, then stroll around
the picturesque streets and squares.
The metropolis on the Vltava is one of
the most beautiful capitals of Europe.
Zurich
Vibrant and varied – with a view of
the Alps. Wander around the picturesque Niederdorf district, revel
in the luxury of the world-famous
Bahnhofstrasse or have a lakeside
picnic.

Booking deadline:
Bookings for all comfort classes can be made right up to the time of departure.
Depending on the country of origin, some time restrictions may apply to
bookings on the date of departure owing to technical reasons.
Booking period:
Supplements (reservation of the comfort category) for City Night Line trains
can be booked a maximum of 179 days in advance. Shorter booking periods
may apply to journeys around a change of timetable. If you book a ticket
and supplement at the same time, this can be done 91 days in advance (e.g.
online bookings).
Carriage of Bicycles:
City Night Line offers bicycle carriage on almost all lines. Bicycles are carried
for a charge of EUR 10.00 (routes inside Germany EUR 9.00/EUR 6.00 for
BahnCard holders). This also applies to bicycles which have been packed for
transport. Further information is available in Germany from the cyclist hotline +49 1805 99 66 33 (EUR 0.14/min for landline calls, mobile phone
charges max. 42 ct/min).
Children:
Children aged up to 5 who are accompanied by a paying adult travel free, but
are not entitled to their own bed, couchette or seat. Each bed or couchette
may only be used by a maximum of 1 adult plus child, or by 2 children.
A separate bed, couchette or seat always has to be booked for children aged
6 or over. Children aged up to 14 pay the supplement for the relevant comfort
category for use of their own bed, couchette or seat.
Inspections:
To avoid disturbing your sleep for ticket inspections and passport control,
our service staff will take the tickets of passengers in sleeping and couchette
cars if necessary – as well as passports / ID cards on international routes with
most countries – and return them to you the next morning. Please check that
the correct and complete documents are returned to you.
Luggage:
Passengers are allowed to carry hand luggage and one suitcase or travel bag
per person. Skis can also be transported free of charge. Luggage can be stored
in the space under the beds, couchettes or seats as well as in the stowage
areas available. Transportation of luggage which does not fit in these areas
cannot be guaranteed. It is more convenient to have your luggage transported
to your destination using the courier service.

Explanation of symbols
Passengers with reduced mobility:
Most City Night Line routes have couchette compartments which are suitable
for wheelchair users with adjacent washing and toilet facilities. This compartment is intended for passengers who are dependent on a wheelchair. To
book this compartment, passengers with a disabled person’s ID card require
a ticket and a reservation for a 6-berth couchette. An accompanying person
can travel free of charge if the disabled person’s ID card (issued in Germany)
states the category “B”. Owing to the limited space, wheelchairs cannot move
around in the City Night Line cars.
Sleeping car
Passengers’ rights:
For information about compensation levels and additional detailed regulations visit www.bahn.de/fahrgastrechte, www.fahrgastrechte.info or call our
hotline at +49 1805 20 21 78 (14 ct/min for landline calls, mobile phone
charges max. 42 ct/min).
Bicycle transport
Pets:
Pets can be carried on City Night Line trains only if you book a whole compartment for your private use. Pets are not permitted in the dining car or seated/
reclining seat cars. Dogs must be kept on the lead at all times outside the
compartment. A flat rate of EUR 30.00 per pet is payable on board the train.
Tickets for a pet can also be purchased in advance from Deutsche Bahn.
Pets can only be taken along if an entire compartment
has been booked
Power supply:
The sockets in sleeping car compartments are intended only for devices with a
low energy consumption (e.g. shavers, mobile phones). Comfortline sleeping
cars have a further socket which is also suitable for larger electrical devices
(such as laptops). No electric sockets are available at reclining seats and in
most couchette cars. City Night Line urgently advises passengers against
using medical apparatus and assumes no liability whatsoever in that respect.
WC is at the end of each coach
Reservations:
Reservations are compulsory for all City Night Line comfort categories. Please
note that a reservation for City Night Line does not entitle you to a free seat
reservation on any connecting trains before or after your City Night Line
journey.
Security on board:
The sleeping and couchette cars have special security facilities which can be
used to lock the compartments from inside. The service team will be happy
to show you how the system works. Please note that no liability is accepted
for your luggage, clothing or any valuables.
