Create a Ringtone
Roxio Quick Sound Editor is the easy way to create a ringtone. Why buy a ringtone, when you
can create one for free from any audio you have on your hard disk? It’s quick and simple.
Getting Started:
1. Launch the Roxio Media Manager. Click the Music-Audio Tab on the Creator Home
screen, and choose "Browse & Manage Media."
2. Choose your audio file. Browse your audio files in the Media Manager and choose the
track you want to use for your ringtone. Then right-click on the file and choose “Edit with
Quick Sound Editor.”
3. Trim your ringtone. Ringtones are normally 30 seconds or less. Preview your track using
the playback controls at lower left, and decide on start and end points for your ringtone.
4. Set the End point. Now drag the black bracket on the right to the point at which you want
your ringtone to end. Preview the ringtone again to see how it sounds. If it ends on a
wrong note, you can adjust the bracket a little, or use the Fade-out option.
5. Fade out the End point. Check the Fade out box, then set the duration as desired. Three to
five seconds is usually a good choice.
6. Set the Start point. If desired, you can also change your start point by moving the lefthand bracket inwards.
7. Create your ringtone. Now that your ringtone is all finished, click the Create Ringtone
button to save it and give it a name. Your original audio file will remain untouched.
8. Sync your ringtone with your phone. Your ringtone is now available in the Roxio Media
Manager, ready to send to your mobile phone using your normal sync procedure.
