“[…] Per chi potesse essere sensibile
a ciò che è sublime,
io supplico il lettore di guardare
una carta del lago di Garda.
I bordi di questo lago, con i loro
contrasti delle belle foreste
e delle acque tranquille formano
forse il più bel paesaggio
del mondo. […]”
Con queste parole Stendahl descriveva il paesaggio
del lago di Garda e come lui molti artisti e intellettuali di
ogni tempo rimasero stregati dal luogo, da sempre fonte
di ispirazione e contemplazione dell’essenza del bello. Lo
stesso Dante Alighieri lo menziona nell’Inferno (Canto XX, vv.
61 - 63) e tornando indietro nei secoli Catullo e Virgilio ne
fanno menzione rispettivamente nei “Carmi” e nell’“Eneide”.
Ma percorrendo la linea della storia nella nostra direzione
come non menzionare grandi poeti come Goethe e Carducci

This is how Stendhal described the Lake Garda landscape
and how he as well as other artists and intellectuals of the
time remained enchanted by the place, forever a source of
inspiration and of contemplation of the essence of beauty.
Even Dante Alighieri mentions it in his Inferno (Canto XX,
vv. 61 - 63) and, going back in the centuries, Catullus and
Virgil mentioned it in the “Carmina” and in the “Aeneid”,
respectively. Much closer to us, great poets such as Goethe
and Carducci also declared their bewitchment with the

Per questo ma non solo l’Associazione culturale Arturo
Toscanini di Savigliano (Cn) in collaborazione con i Comuni
di Gargnano sul Garda, Limone sul Garda e Riva del Garda
hanno ritenuto interessante istituire un Festival annuale
nelle città più suggestive del comprensorio del Lago dal titolo
“NOTE DAL GARDA”.
Il Festival si terrà dal 3 al 6 settembre e interesserà i tre
importanti centri.

For this as well as for other valid reasons, the Associazione
culturale Arturo Toscanini of Savigliano (Cn), in association
with the municipalities of Gargnano sul Garda, Limone sul
Garda and Riva del Garda, have decided to establish a yearly
Festival in the lake’s most charming towns and to name it
“NOTE DAL GARDA” (NOTES FROM GARDA).
The Festival will be held from the 3nd to the 6th of September,
and will involve all three of the towns.
NOTEN VOM GARDASEE 2014
Mit diesen Worten beschreibt Stendahl die Landschaft
des Gardasees und wie er wurden viele weitere Künstler und
Intellektuelle aller Zeiten von diesem Ort verzaubert, der
seit jeher eine Quelle der Inspiration und Kontemplation des
Inbegriffs der Schönheit ist. Selbst Dante Alighieri erwähnt
ihn in der Hölle (20. Gesang, VV. 61-63) und ebenso, noch
weiter zurück durch die Jahrhunderte, Catull und Vergil,
jeweils in den „Carmina“ und der „Aeneis“. Aber der Zeitlinie
in unsere Richtung folgend, wie könnte man große Dichter
wie Goethe und Carducci nicht zu erwähnen, die ebenso von
der Schönheit der Seelandschaft verzaubert worden sind.
Das ist einer der Gründe, weshalb der Kulturverein Arturo
Toscanini in Savigliano (Cn), in Zusammenarbeit mit den
Gemeinden Gargnano sul Garda, Limone sul Garda und
Riva del Garda, es für interessant erachtet haben, in den
faszinierendsten Städten des Seebezirks ein jährliches
Festival einzuführen, mit dem Titel „NOTE DAL GARDA“ (dt.
NOTEN VOM GARDASEE).
Das Festival wird vom 3. bis 6. September in den drei
bedeutenden Orten stattfinden.

I LUOGHI DEL FESTIVAL
GARGNANO SUL GARDA. Comune compreso nel Parco regionale
dell’Alto Garda Bresciano. Il nome del paese compare per la prima
volta in un documento del 937 come Garniano, forse derivato
dal personale latino Garenius. Documenti di Tito Livio e lapidi
testimoniano la presenza di Etruschi, Celti, Cenomani e Romani su
queste terre nei tempi antichi. Dal 1350 al 1426 il territorio di Gargnano
sul Garda fu dominio dei Visconti, per poi passare sotto il dominio della
Repubblica di Venezia. Successivamente alla scomparsa della Riviera
sarà annesso alla Repubblica bresciana di cui seguirà le sorti sotto
la dominazione napoleonica (1796-1799), come capoluogo di cantone,
per poi diventare di dominio asburgico nel periodo risorgimentale, fino
al Regno d’Italia (1861).
LIMONE SUL GARDA. Fino agli anni quaranta il paese era confinato

GARGNANO SUL GARDA. This town is set within the Alto Garda
Bresciano regional park. Its name appears for the first time in a
document dated 937 A.D. as Garniano, derived perhaps from the Latin
name ‘Garenius’. Documents written by Livy, as well as inscriptions
on stone tablets, witness the presence of Etruscans, Celts, Cenomani
and Romans in these lands since ancient times. The territory of
Gargnano sul Garda was dominated by the Visconti family from 1350
to 1426, after which it passed into the hands of the Republic of Venice.
After the disappearance of the Riviera, it was annexed to the Republic
of Brescia and followed its fate under the Napoleonic rule (1796-1799)
as chief town of the canton. During the Italian Risorgimento it became
property of the Hapsburgs until the Reign of Italy was founded (1861).
LIMONE SUL GARDA. Up until the 1940’s this town was destined to
all’isolamento e raggiungibile solo via lago o
attraverso le montagne. La costruzione della strada
gardesana (ultimata nel 1932) ha rotto questo
isolamento ed ha portato un notevole sviluppo
turistico della zona, aprendola anche verso Riva del
Garda e il turismo straniero. Oggi Limone sul Garda
è una tra le località turistiche più frequentate della
riviera bresciana. Nel 1863 la denominazione era
Limone San Giovanni che resterà ufficiale fino al
1905 quando il centro assumerà la nomenclatura
attuale di Limone sul Garda.
RIVA DEL GARDA. Città mercantile di antica
tradizione, assurse a importanza turistica
internazionale nella seconda metà del 19° secolo
quando fu riscoperta, per il suo clima e le sue
bellezze ambientali, dall’élite mitteleuropea.
A cavallo del secolo la cittadina altogardesana
fu luogo di soggiorno di celebri personaggi della
cultura, quali Franz Kafka (nel 1909 e nel 1913) e i
fratelli Thomas e Heinrich MANN (nel 1902).
Nel secondo dopoguerra si è assistito al rilancio
del turismo lacustre, che ha fatto del territorio
rivano uno dei principali poli turistici e insediativi
del Trentino. La città si caratterizza anche per
una particolare sensibilità per le attività musicali:
è sede distaccata del Conservatorio di musica
Bonporti di Trento, della Scuola Musicale dell’Alto
Garda, di due corpi bandistici e di un coro ed ospita
ogni anno concorsi e festival musicali di rilievo
internazionale.

Gardesana road (completed in 1932) brought to the
area a considerable inflow of national as well as
international tourists by opening it towards Riva del
Garda. Today, Limone sul Garda is one of the most
visited towns of the Brescia shore. In 1863, it was
called Limone San Giovanni and officially remained
so until 1905, when it changed its name to Limone
sul Garda.
RIVA DEL GARDA. An ancient trading post, the
town took on importance as an international
tourist destination in the second half of the 19th
century when its climate and natural beauty was
rediscovered by the Mittel-European élite.
Around the turn of the century, the upper Garda
town hosted various renowned cultural figures,
such as Franz Kafka (in 1909 and 1913) and the
brothers Thomas and Heinrich Mann (in 1902).
After World War II, lakeside tourism was launched
anew, making the Riva territory a major tourist
resort and, growing to become one of the largest
towns in Trentino.
The town is now also characterised by its
particular sensitivity towards musical activities: it
hosts a branch of the Bonporti Music Conservatory
of Trento, the Scuola Musicale dell’Alto Garda, as
well as two town bands and a choir, and every
year hosts music competitions and festivals at an
international level.

mit Riva del Garda und der Erschließung
für den internationalen Tourismus zu einem
beträchtlichen Wachstum des Fremdenverkehrs
geführt. Heute ist Limone sul Garda eine der
beliebtesten Urlaubsorte der Brescianer Küste.
1863 lautete der offizielle Name Limone San
Giovanni und das blieb auch offiziell so bis in
das Jahr 1905, als die Ortschaft die aktuelle
Nomenklatur Limone sul Garda erhielt.
RIVA DEL GARDA. Eine Handelsstadt mit langer
Tradition, wurde in der zweiten Hälfte des 19.
Jahrhunderts aufgrund ihres Klimas und ihrer
schönen Umgebung von der mitteleuropäischen
Elite neu entdeckt, was ihr einen bedeutenden Platz
im internationalen Fremdenverkehr einbrachte.
Schon Anfang des 20. Jh.s war das Städtchen
im Alto-Garda-Gebiet Urlaubsziel berühmter
Persönlichkeiten des Kulturbetriebs wie Franz
Kafka (1909 und 1913) und den Brüdern Thomas
und Heinrich Mann (1902).
Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg erfuhr der Urlaub
am See einen neuen Boom, was dazu führte, dass
die Gegend von Riva zu einem der wichtigsten
Touristen- und Siedlungszentren im Trentino
wurde. Die Stadt zeichnet sich auch durch ihr
Engagement für die Musik aus: Hier sind eine
Zweigstelle des Konservatoriums Bonporti in
Trient, die Musikschule des Alto Garda sowie zwei
Kapellen und ein Chor beheimatet, und jedes
Jahr finden Wettbewerbe und Musikfestivals
internationaler Tragweite statt.
DIE ORTE DES FESTIVALS
GARGNANO SUL GARDA. Gemeinde im Naturpark Alto Garda
Bresciano. Der Name der Ortschaft erscheint zum ersten Mal in
einem Schriftstück aus dem Jahr 937, als Garniano, möglicherweise
eine Ableitung des lateinischen Namens Garenius. Schriftstücke des
Titus Livius und Grabsteine bezeugen die Präsenz von Etruskern,
Kelten, Cenomanen und Römern in diesem Gebiet in alten Zeiten.
Von 1350 bis 1426 stand das Gebiet um Gargnano sul Garda unter
der Herrschaft der Visconti und anschließend unter der Herrschaft
der Republik Venedig. Nach deren Untergang wird das Gebiet der
Republik Brescia angeschlossen und folgt als Hauptstadt des Bezirks
deren Schicksal unter der Napoleonischen Herrschaft (1796-1799),
um dann während dem Risorgimento, bis zur Entstehung des
Königreich Italiens (1861), unter die habsburgische Herrschaft zu
fallen.
LIMONE SUL GARDA. Bis in die vierziger Jahre war die Ortschaft
vollkommen abgeschieden und nur mit dem Boot über den See
oder aber über die Berge erreichbar. Der Bau der Gardesana-Straße

möglich ist, etwas auszudrücken, das über sein biologisches
Sein hinaus geht: die Kunst ist eine Ausdrucksform dieser
Sehnsucht nach Transzendenz. Aber auch die Kunst ist
wertlos, wenn sie den materiellen Zustand des Menschen
nicht zu überwinden weiß, weshalb Kunst und Mensch eine
Einheit bilden; denn den Menschen von seiner Bestrebung
nach geistigen Tiefe zu trennen, würde bedeuten, sein Wesen
nicht zu erfassen. Die Kunst vom Menschen zu trennen,
bedeutet sie in das Reich des Abstrakten zu verbannen und
damit ihre - auch materielle - Stärke zu ignorieren, in der die
Kunst und Mensch, Form und Gestalt annehmen. Und eben
an dieser Stelle fügt sich die Interpretation ein, also die Art
und Weise eine Seite der Kunst zum Leben zu erwecken, sie
zu verkörpern und ihr zu ermöglichen, mit den Menschen in
Kontakt zu treten und sich mit ihnen auszutauschen.“

IL FESTIVAL
Il Festival nasce con l’intenzione di creare
una serie di concerti di altissimo livello con
percorso tematico itinerante che si svolgeranno
in suggestive location sul Lago di Garda. I
concerti si terranno il 3 settembre a Gargnano
sul Garda, il 4 settembre a Limone sul Garda
e il 6 settembre a Riva del Garda e vedranno in
scena il Maestro Uto Ughi accompagnato da “I
Filarmonici di Roma”, un sodalizio artistico già
collaudato e capace di creare veri e propri eventi
musicali.
Il Festival non vuole presentarsi solo come
un monologo, per questo l’Associazione
Toscanini venerdì 5 settembre presenta, presso
il Conservatorio di musica Bonporti di Trento,
sede di Riva del Garda, “Il Maestro incontra…”.
Questo pomeriggio è stato pensato come attività
collaterale al Festival dove il Maestro, tramite un
dialogo aperto con gli studenti del Conservatorio,
si dedicherà alla divulgazione e sensibilizzazione
alla “musica classica” delle nuove generazioni di
musicisti, attività sempre perseguita con passione
e sensibilità dal Maestro Ughi nel corso di tutta
la Sua luminosa carriera. Durante il pomeriggio
verranno presentati filmati sulla vita artistica del
Maestro Ughi: interviste, concerti, spezzoni degli
esordi e della vita privata tutti a inconfutabile
testimonianza del precoce talento e dell’illimitata
dedizione alla musa musicale.
Partendo da settembre 2014, l’idea è quindi
quella di trasformare il Festival “Note dal Garda”
in un appuntamento annuale immancabile, di
alto valore intellettuale e artistico ponte ideale
tra la fine dell’estate e l’inizio della stagione
autunnale, da sempre momento di ispirazione
dei più grandi intellettuali e musicisti.
Friday, September 5th the Associazione
Toscanini will present at the Riva del
Garda Conservatory the event “Il Maestro
incontra…” (Meeting the Maestro). The event
is intended to be a collateral activity in which
the Maestro, by means of open dialogue with
the pupils of the Conservatory, will dedicate
himself to the divulgation and increase in
awareness of “classical music” among the
new generations of musicians. This activity
has always been pursued with passion and
sensitivity by Maestro Ughi throughout his
luminous career. During the course of the
afternoon, videos about the Maestro’s artistic
life will be presented, including interviews,
concerts, clips about his beginnings and
his private life, all of which to witness
his precocious talent and his unlimited
dedication to music.
Starting in September 2014, therefore, the
idea is to transform the Festival “Note dal
Garda” into an unrenounceable annual
appointment of very high intellectual and
artistic value, the ideal junction between
summer’s end and the beginning of the
autumn season, a period of the year that has
always been of great inspiration for great
thinkers and musicians alike.

Maestro incontra...“ (dt. der Maestro trifft...)
organisiert hat. Dieser Nachmittag ist als
Begleitveranstaltung des Festivals gedacht, in
der sich der Maestro, während eines offenen
Dialogs mit den Studenten des Konservatoriums,
der Verbreitung der „klassischen Musik“ und
der diesbezüglichen Sensibilisierung der neuen
Generationen von Musikern widmet; etwas,
das Maestro Ughi im Laufe seiner glänzenden
Karriere stets mit Leidenschaft und Feingefühl
verfolgt hat. Während des Nachmittags werden
Filme über das künstlerische Leben des Maestro
Ughi gezeigt: Interviews, Konzerte, Ausschnitte
seines Debüts und seines Privatlebens, die alle
unwiderlegbare Beweise für sein frühreifes Talent
und seine grenzenlose Hingabe zur Musik sind.
Mit Beginn im September 2014, ist es die Idee,
das Festival „Noten vom Gardasee“ zu einer
jährlichen Verabredung werden zu lassen, die
man auf keinen Fall versäumen sollte, von
hohem intellektuellem und künstlerischem Wert
und als perfekte Verbindung zwischen dem Ende
des Sommers und dem Beginn des Herbstes,
seit jeher ein Moment der Inspiration für die
bedeutendsten Intellektuellen und Musiker.
THE FESTIVAL
The ultimate aim of the Festival is to
create a program of top-level concerts
following an itinerant theme, to be held
in various charming locations around
Lake Garda. The concerts will be held on
September 3nd in Gargnano sul Garda, on
September 4th in Limone sul Garda and on
September 6th in Riva del Garda. They will
involve the performance of Maestro Uto Ughi
accompanied by the “I Filarmonici di Roma”,
a previously proven artistic sodality capable
of generating veritable musical events.
Since the Festival does not intend
to be perceived as a monologue, on

Leben gerufen, eine Reihe an Konzerten von
höchstem Niveau zu organisieren, die einem
bestimmten Thema folgend, an verschiedenen
stimmungsvollen Orten des Gardasees abgehalten
werden. Die Konzerte finden am 3. September
in Gargnano sul Garda, am 4. September in
Limone sul Garda und am 6. September in Riva
del Garda statt und werden auf ihrer Bühne
Maestro Uto Ughi begrüßen dürfen, begleitet von
den „Filarmonici di Roma“, eine bereits erprobte
künstlerische Verbindung, die in der Lage ist,
wahre Musik-Events ins Leben zu rufen.
Das Festival soll allerdings nicht nur ein Monolog

Within the context of the Festival “Note dal Garda”, the
Associazione Toscanini in association with the municipalities of
Gargnano sul Garda, Limone sul Garda and Riva del Garda, have
organized for Friday, September 7th, a meeting between Maestro
Uto Ughi, the Festival’s featuring performer and promoter, and the
young musicians of the Conservatory of Riva del Garda.
During the dialogue with M. Ughi, the young pupils will have the
chance to make their acquaintance with the Maestro in a friendly
atmosphere capable of transferring to them the sensitivity and the
communication of the musical idea and of the curious aspects
in the life of an artist. The aim of this process is to create direct

Im Rahmen des Festivals „Note dal Garda“ (dt. Noten vom
Gardasee), bietet der Kulturverein Toscanini, in Zusammenarbeit
mit den Gemeinden Gargnano sul Garda, Limone sul Garda und
Riva del Garda, am Freitag den 5. September ab 17 Uhr, das Treffen
zwischen Maestro Uto Ughi, Protagonist und Förderer des Festivals
und den jungen Musikern des Konservatoriums in Riva del Garda.
Während dem Treffen in Dialog-Form können die jungen Leute sich
direkt mit dem Maestro auseinandersetzen, in einer Stimmung,
die für die Entwicklung der Sensibilität, der Kommunikation
des musikalischen Gedankens und der Neugier danach, was
es mit dem Künstler Sein auf sich hat, förderlich ist. Ziel dieses
e delle curiosità nascoste dietro all’essere artista. Obiettivo di
questo processo è creare tra il Maestro e il giovane pubblico una
sinergia diretta tramite l’uso della parola. Scopo di questi incontri
è quello di trasmettere l’amore, la sensibilità verso la musica e
la cultura nelle nuove generazioni mediante una conversazione
aperta dove i ragazzi sono soggetti attivi e protagonisti. Tale
esperienza nasce dalla convinzione che possano scaturire ed
emergere nei partecipanti suggestioni, approfondimenti, aspetti
emozionali e valoriali sconosciuti o dimenticati, attraverso
l’universale linguaggio della musica.
Nel pomeriggio verrà anche trasmesso il filmato “Uto Ughi – una
vita in musica”: interviste, concerti, spezzoni degli esordi e della
vita privata del Maestro, tutti a inconfutabile testimonianza del
precoce talento e dell’illimitata dedizione alla musa musicale.

In the afternoon, the video “Uto Ughi – una vita in musica” (Uto
Ughi – a life in music) will be shown, containing interviews,
concerts, clips from the musician’s first appearances and private
life, all of which witness his precocious talent and his unlimited
dedication to music.

Maestro und seinem jungen Publikum zu schaffen. Der Zweck
dieser Treffen ist es, den neuen Generationen über ein offenes
Gespräch, während dem die jungen Leute aktive Beteiligte und
Protagonisten sind, die Liebe, das Gefühl für Musik und Kultur
zu übermitteln. Dieses Erlebnis entspringt aus der Überzeugung,
dass durch die universelle Sprache der Musik in den Teilnehmern
Eindrücke, Erkenntnisse und unbekannte emotionale Aspekte und
Werte entstehen und zutage kommen können.
Während des Nachmittags wird auch der Film „Uto Ughi - una
vita in musica“ (dt. ein Leben für Musik) projiziert: Interviews,
Konzerte, Ausschnitte des Debüts und Privatlebens des Geigers,
die alle unwiderlegbare Beweise für sein frühreifes Talent und
seine grenzenlose Hingabe zur Musik sind.

L’Associazione culturale “Arturo Toscanini” di Savigliano
presieduta dai musicisti Natascia e Ivan Chiarlo sostiene,
promuove e organizza numerosi eventi musicali e culturali
fra i quali, il più significativo, “La Santità Sconosciuta
– Piemonte terra di Santi”, che si ripete ogni autunno nei
luoghi più suggestivi della provincia di Cuneo.
All’interno di questa rassegna, il Maestro Uto Ughi è da
anni fedele ospite d’onore nelle attività dell’Associazione,
nonché consulente alla Direzione Artistica e docente della
Masterclass internazionale di violino dedicata ai giovani
musicisti.
L’Associazione si pone come missione la sensibilizzazione
delle nuove generazioni attraverso azioni concrete di
formazione e istruzione. Di altissimo livello artistico gli
spettacoli di cui cura direttamente la Direzione Artistica e
nei quali si avvale spesso di collaborazioni prestigiose con
artisti di fama nazionale ed internazionale.
L’Associazione è poi anche attiva sul piano benefico e sociale.
The cultural association “Arturo Toscanini” in Savigliano,
headed by the musicians Natascia and Ivan Chiarlo, sustains,
promotes and organizes several musical and cultural events,
including the most important, “La Santità Sconosciuta –
Piemonte terra di Santi” (The Unknown Holiness – Piedmont,
Land of Saints), that is held every Autumn in the most charming
locations of the environs of Cuneo.
Within this context, Maestro Uto Ughi has been for years
a faithful guest of honour in the Association’s activities as
well as Artistic Management consultant and teacher of the
International Violin Masterclass open to young musicians.
The Association’s declared mission is to sensitize younger
generations by means of concrete training and educational
actions. The performances organized directly by the
Artistic Management and that often involve the presence of
internationally as well as nationally famous artists, are of very
high artistic level. The Association is also active in the field of
charity and social aid.
Der Kulturverein „Arturo Toscanini“ in Savigliano, geleitet
von den Musikern Natascia und Ivan Chiarlo, unterstützt,
fördert und organisiert zahlreiche Musik- und Kulturevents,
von denen das bedeutendste die Veranstaltung „La Santità
Sconosciuta – Piemonte terra di Santi“ (dt. Die Unbekannte
Heiligkeit - Piemont, Land der Heiligen) ist, die jeden Herbst
an den eindruckvollsten Orten der Provinz Cuneo stattfindet.
Im Rahmen dieses Festivals ist der berühmte Geiger Uto Ughi
seit Jahren treuer Ehrengast der Aktivitäten des Kulturvereins,
sowie Berater der Künstlerischen Leitung und Professor der
internationalen Masterclass für Geige, die jungen Musikern
gewidmet ist.
Der Verein sieht es als seine Mission, die neuen Generationen
durch konkrete Maßnahmen der Bildung und Schulung
zu sensibilisieren. Von höchstem künstlerischen Niveau
sind die Vorstellungen, deren künstlerische Leitung der
Verein übernimmt und bei denen oft auf die bedeutende
Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlern von nationalem und
internationalem Ruhm zurückgegriffen wird. Zusätzlich ist der
Verein auch im sozialen und Wohltätigkeitsbereich tätig.

1744, e uno Stradivari del 1701 denominato

L’Orchestra da camera “I Filarmonici di
Roma”, nasce nel 1976. Fin dagli esordi riscuote
ampi consensi di critica e di pubblico.
Ha tenuto concerti con direttori come Sawallisch,
Pretre, Zecchi e Menuhin e con solisti come
Milstein, Menuhin, Stefanato, Asciolla, Campanella, Vasary, Gazzelloni, Szeryng, Rostropovic.
Attualmente svolge un’intensa attività con Uto
Ughi. Importanti le tournées all’estero: Messico,
Canada, Medio Oriente, Spagna, India, Grecia, Yu-
goslavia, Giappone, Thailandia, Birmania, Russia.
A Boston, per il Parlamento Europeo, al Lincoln
Center di New York ed alla Carnegie Hall.
È stata insignita in Campidoglio di medaglia
d’oro “Per la lodevole attività concertistica ad
alto livello, sia in Italia che all’estero” e di una
targa da parte del Parlamento Europeo che
dice: “All’Orchestra I Filarmonici di Roma che
ha elevato ai massimi livelli l’espressione della
musica italiana nel mondo intero”.
The chamber orchestra “I Filarmonici di
Roma” was founded in 1976, and since its debut
has won great critical and public acclaim.
The orchestra has performed with conductors like

gold medal for “The noteworthy top level concert
activity performed both in Italy and abroad” and
a plate from the European Parliament that says:
“To the Orchestra I Filarmonici di Roma for having
elevated to the maximum levels the expression of
Italian music throughout the world”.

Roma“ entsteht im Jahre 1976. Von Anfang an
erntet es große Anerkennung von Kritik und
Publikum.
Es hat Konzerte gegeben mit bekannten
Dirigenten, wie Sawallisch, Pretre, Zecchi und
Menuhin und Solisten, wie Milstein, Menuhin,
Stefanato, Asciolla, Campanella, Vasary,
Gazzelloni, Szeryng, Rostropovic. Gegenwärtig
besteht eine intensive Zusammenarbeit mit Uto
Ughi.
Wichtig die Tourneen im Ausland: Mexiko, Kanada,
der Nahe Osten, Spanien, Indien, Griechenland,
Jugoslawien, Japan, Thailand, Burma, Russland.
In Boston, für das Europäische Parlament, am
Lincoln Center in New York und in der Carnegie
Hall.
Ausgezeichnet wurde es im Kapitol mit der
Goldmedaille „für die anerkennenswerte
Konzerttätigkeit hohen Niveaus, sowohl in
Italien, wie auch im Ausland“ und durch das
Europaparlament mit einer Plakette, auf der
geschrieben steht:
„Dem Orchester I Filarmonici di Roma, das die
italienische Musik auf der ganzen Welt auf das
höchste Niveau gebracht hat“.
Armando Torno, nato a Milano nel 1953, è
editorialista del Corriere della Sera, dopo
essere stato responsabile della cultura di questo
giornale nel triennio 2000- 2002 e aver fondato il
supplemento “Domenica” de Il Sole-24 Ore che
ha diretto per una dozzina d’anni. È autore di una
ventina di libri di carattere filosofico, ha curato
tra gli altri testi di Dostoevskij e di autori latini
e greci. In ambito musicale ha pubblicato:
“Divertimenti per Dio. Mozart e i teologi”, scritto
con monsignor Pierangelo Sequeri (Piemme
1991), “Mozart a Milano” (Mondadori 2004),
“Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. Un incontro”
(Morcelliana 2007) e con Riccardo Muti “Verdi,
l’italiano. Ovvero, in musica, le nostre radici”
(Rizzoli 2012). Da quindici anni conduce su
Radio 24 il programma “Musica maestro”, che
quest’anno ha vinto il Premio Flaiano.
