Many of the coordinates by which we plot lesbian and
gay stories have changed in relation to the recent
legal recognition of same-sex domestic partnerships.
Concussion (Stacie Passon, 2013) and Weekend
(Andrew Haigh, 2011) are two films that derive their
timeliness from the contemporary framework of gay
marriage. In each, the apartment – a permeably
private/public space conducive to the narration of
non-normative homelives – is key to both the critique
of gay marriage and its revival as an idealized form
for the possibilities of sexual and social happiness.
Positive aging might be difficult to achieve for precarious workers, with part-time work contracts and
no concrete pension plans. The present talk explores
views on ageing and how these differ according to
gender and precariousness status based on results
from a qualitative study in which middle-aged men
and women from secure and precarious backgrounds
were interviewed on the topic of aging. Findings
concerning gendered views on aging and implications for preventing health and gender inequalities
will be discussed.
Wie kann Lernen von Geschichte stattfinden, wenn
Geschichtsunterricht in der Schule meistens immer
noch als his-story alter Schule konzipiert wird und
wenn LSBTTI* noch immer als Ausnahme im Klassenzimmer gelten? Mit der Bundesstiftung Magnus
Hirschfeld hat der Arbeitsbereich Didaktik der Geschichte für das Jugendmuseum Schöneberg Lernmodule erarbeitet, die lebensgeschichtliche Interviews aus dem „Archiv der anderen Erinnerungen“
für die Bildungsarbeit aufbereitet haben. Im Vortrag
wird das theoretische Konzept der Module diskutiert
sowie ein Einblick in das konkrete Material gegeben.
Lee Wallace is associate professor in Gender and
Cultural Studies at the University of Sydney. Her
research interests are: queer theory, lesbian and gay
studies, feminist theory, colonial and postcolonial
discourse, cultural studies and cinema studies.
Irina Catrinel Crăciun is holder of the Dahlem International Network Professorship for Gender Studies
(2015/16). Her research interests are: health and gender (esp. in Romania) health communication, aging.
Current project:
Lee Wallace works on the relation between homosexuality and cultural space more generally.
Engaging with current theoretical accounts of gay
and lesbian life, she is interested in homosexual sites
and architectures – some fictional, some material.

der Geschichte am Friedrich-Meinecke-Institut der
Freien Universität Berlin. Forschungsschwerpunkte:
Holocaust und historisches Lernen, Theoriedebatten
in der Geschichtsdidaktik, Rassismuskritk, Diversity
und Intersektionalität.
Joscha Jelitzki und Malte Lührs sind als studentische
Mitarbeiter in einem Projekt der Bundesstiftung
Magnus Hirschfeld zur Erstellung didaktischer
Materialien zum „Archiv der anderen Erinnerungen“
tätig.
