am Institut für Psychologie an der UMIT (Private Universität für Gesundheitswissenschaften,
Medizinische Informatik und Technik), Hall in Tirol, zu vergeben.
Die Stelle ist in dem vom FWF (Österreichischer Wissenschaftsfonds) geförderten Projekt
„Forward Models in Motor Imagery“ (P 24940-B25) angesiedelt. Im Wesentlichen wird in dem
Projekt untersucht, inwieweit bei motorischen Vorstellungen (d.h. Handlungen, die nicht
tatsächlich ausgeführt werden, sondern die so vorgestellt werden, als ob man sie ausführt) interne
Vorhersageprozesse (basierend auf Vorwärtsmodellen) die Konsequenzen von motorischen
Kommandos für den eigenen Körper und die Umgebung vorhersagen.
Das Aufgabengebiet umfasst die Planung, Programmierung, Durchführung und Auswertung
kognitionspsychologischer Experimente sowie die Publikation der Ergebnisse. Im Rahmen des
Projektes besteht die Möglichkeit zur Promotion.
Bewerber sollten einen Hochschulabschluss (Master, Diplom oder äquivalent) in Psychologie oder
einem verwandten Fach sowie gute Kenntnisse in Allgemeiner Psychologie, Statistik und Englisch
vorweisen können.
Stellenantritt ist ab dem 1.10. oder 1.11.2012 erwünscht (jedoch auch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt
möglich). Die maximale Laufzeit der Stelle beträgt 3 Jahre. Das Gehalt wird auf einer Grundlage
von 30h Wochenarbeitszeit berechnet und beträgt 1.933,30 Euro Brutto (14 Gehälter pro Jahr). Für

available at the Institute for Psychology at the UMIT (University for Health Sciences, Medical
Informatics and Technology), Hall in Tirol.
The position is available in the FWF (Austrian Science Fund) funded project „Forward Models in
Motor Imagery“ (P 24940-B25). The major aim of the project is to investigate to what extent
accurate predictions (based on forward models) about the ongoing state of the motor system and
effects in the environment are made during motor imagery (i.e. actions which are not actually
executed but are imagined as if they are).
The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, programming, conducting and analyzing
psychological experiments, as well as the publication of results. The applicant will have the
opportunity to complete a PhD.
Applications are required to have a degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in psychology or a
related subject. A good knowledge of experimental psychology, statistics and the English language
are essential.
Desired starting date for the successful applicant is the 1st of October or the 1st of November 2012
(though a later appointment is possible). The position is available for a maximum of 3 years. The
salary is based on 30 weekly hours of work and is 1.933,30 Euro before taxes and insurance (14
