March - Sedona Car Club
Transcription
Hey! Where did Winter go? It’s only the end of February and it feels like late Spring. Of course, owning two convertible cars I guess I shouldn’t complain, but it just seems like we should have a little more Winter before Summer comes. The weather could change though. I was snowed on in the St. Patrick’s Day parade once, and I’ve seen snow in April. Meanwhile, the weather is great for our club outings. Those of us who made it to the “hamburger outing” had a great time. A lot of us showed up, the weather was nice, and our many cars made a great display in front of the restaurant. I met a man, Mart Schonberg, who has been a member for some time, but has not participated in our events or meetings. He just happened to be driving down Cornville Road and saw all of our cars and came in to look. Coincidently, he lives near Gary and Patti Lamb (it was nice to see them after an absence for a while), and I introduced them to one another. I regret that I don’t have any news about our car show yet. We would like to have it at the airport, as we have for many years. The airport has not made a decision whether or not it will be having an Airport Day. The last information the airport gave me was that a new manager was starting on March 1st, and then they would start discussing an Airport Day. I hope we will be able to find out something soon. Our alternate venue choices just don’t work as well as the airport. I hope to see many of you at our March General Meeting. Please bring it out and let others see it at the Sedona Elks Lodge The lodge will be hosting a fun cruise in on the third Wednesday of each month from 5:00 to 7:00 in the Elks Lodge parking lot at 110 Airport Road, Sedona. The Lodge will be serving tacos and good quality grilled hot dogs on the patio. Beverages will be available in the lounge. This is being done to provide car owners an opportunity to show off their fine rides just for the fun of it and for the comradery. Seems too many great looking rides spend a lot of time in garages when showing them off and driving them is why you built them. So bring it out! The Elks will have a page on Facebook. Look for Sedona Elks (or visit www.sedonaelks.org) cruise to check the dates and photos from recent cruise nights.
