Wir trennen Mensch und Mücke
„Wir trennen Mensch und Mücke“ heißt das Motto, mit dem BRETTSCHNEIDER
sich ganz auf den Mückenschutz spezialisiert und dabei bereits eine Erfahrung
von gut über 20 Jahren aufweisen kann. Unzählige Reisende profitieren von ungestörtem Schlaf und der Gewissheit einer guten Gesundheitsvorsorge mit diesen
Moskitonetzen und Hautschutzmitteln. Aber auch im Wohnbereich hier in unserer
mitteleuropäischen Heimat wird der Komfort eines Moskitonetzes mehr und mehr
entdeckt und wir freuen uns, dass wir in diesem Katalog eine umfangreiche Auswahl an dekorativen, besonders großen Netzen anbieten können.
Zurückblickend: Herzlichen Dank!
Reisen und das Erkunden anderer Länder, um die Schönheit dieser Erde zu entdecken, aber auch um andersartige Lebenskonzepte zu erfahren und zu studieren,
fasziniert mich seit jeher. Als ich in den 80er-Jahren mit der Branche der Globetrotter-Ausrüster in Berührung kam, erfüllte mich große Freude über diese Kontakte.
Auf kreative Art und Weise baute sich da eine Branche auf, in der neue Werte der
Wirtschaft und des Arbeitens sich ausdrückten. So ergriff ich mit Interesse und Lust
die Möglichkeit, selbst Teil dieser Branche zu werden, für Individualreisende Moskitonetze erst selbst zu nähen und dann in eigener Regie eine Fertigung aufzubauen.
Über all die Jahre hinweg war es Freude an den Kontakten zu diesen weltoffenen
Geschäftspartnern und Reisenden selbst, die mich und unser Team voranbrachten.

Looking back today on these twenty or more years, I would like to thank you!
Travelling to other countries and exploring them to discover the beauty of the earth
and to experience and study different ideas of life is something that has always
fascinated me. Thus I was very happy in the eighties when I came into contact with the
globetrotter outfitting field. A branch that took creative new approaches to business
and work was coming about and I took the opportunity to become part of it with great
interest and enjoyment, first by sewing mosquito nets myself for fully independent travellers and then having them produced on my account. The pleasure that my team and
I take in our contacts with cosmopolitan business partners and travellers has carried
us forward throughout the years. Today I wish to take this opportunity, dear business
partner, for your role and contribution.

SYMBOLE FÜR DIE BEFESTIGUNG
SYMBOLS FOR TYPES OF INSTALLATION
Wichtig bei der Auswahl des passenden Moskitonetzes ist die Form, sie
bestimmt, ob das Netz nahe am Körper vorbei führt, ob es schnell oder
langsam, einfach oder schwieriger aufzuhängen ist. Die Symbole für die
unterschiedlichen Aufhängearten finden Sie auf jeder Seite des Kataloges
im Farbbalken oben links oder rechts.
When choosing a mosquito net, attention must be paid to its shape as
this determines whether the net will fall close to arms, feet, etc., thus enabling bites through the netting, and whether it is fast and easy to install
or requires a little time and effort. The symbols for the various means of

Einpunkt-Aufhängung: Baldachin- oder Pyramidennetze sind leicht an
einem Haken über der Bettmitte zu befestigen. Zur Vermeidung von Stichen darauf achten, dass man beim Schlaf das Netz nicht berührt.
Single-point suspension: Bell nets are easy to install as they are simply
suspended from a hook over the middle of the bed.

Material-Muster: Zeigt bei jedem Netz-Artikel die Struktur und Maschenweite des Netzes in Originalgröße. Die Einheit der Maschendichte
wird in mesh per square inch angegeben, je größer die mesh Zahl, desto
dichter ist das Netz.
Netting pattern: Netting pattern: Shows the structure and mesh of the
net true to scale. Each article gives the spacing of the meshes in mesh
per square inch; i.e. the larger the number the closer the meshes and the

Große Mücke: Netze mit diesem Symbol halten zuverlässig lästige,

zusammenarbeiten
Unser Ziel ist es, mit Moskitonetzen Krankheiten
übertragende Insekten vom Menschen abzuhalten
und so mechanisch Mensch und Mücke einander
fernzuhalten. Nur unter extremen Umständen befürworten und empfehlen wir die Verwendung
von Insektiziden.
Wie selbst bei Extremreisen, jüngst in den
15 Monaten in der Mongolei, der 5. Etappe der
Trans-Ost-Expedition, die Achtung vor allem, was
lebt, die freundliche Auseinandersetzung mit den
unterschiedlichen Kulturen und ein lebensfördernder
Umgang mit sich selbst gelebt werden kann, das
erfahren wir im Kontakt mit Denis und Tanja Katzer.
Mit Freude unterstützen wir ihr Projekt DIE GROSSE
REISE: 300000 km haben die beiden bereits auf
dem Rücken von Kamelen, Pferden oder Elefanten
zurückgelegt. Aktuell reisen sie mit Fahrrad, Pferd
und Elefant, von Deutschland nach Burma.

For years now, our goal has been to keep disease-carrying insects away from humans in a mechanical manner
through the use of mosquito nets. Only under extreme
circumstances, do we approve and recommend the use
of insecticides.
To experience and respect all living beings during extreme travelling adventures, the friendly involvement with
different cultures and living a conducive life with one’s
self, this is what we experience while in contact with
Tanja and Denis Katzer.
We are more than happy to support their project:
The Great Journey. The two of them have completed
300000 km on the backs of camels, horses, elephants,
on foot or by common transport. Actually they are travelling with their bicycles from Germany to Burma.

HOW TO ATTACH NETTING WITH VELCRO
Long-term: Sew the loop tape to the netting and press onto
hook tape previously attached to the window frame. The
netting can be removed and replaced as required.
Cheap’n’ easy: Attach the hook tape to the frame, press the
netting into place and cut off around the edges.

purchase of mosquito nets and medication either diffi cult or impossible.
At the same time, knowledge of traditional medicine is fast disappearing. However, efforts are being made to preserve knowledge of
medicinal plants to the benefit of the indigenous peoples – a task that
the Action for Natural Medicine in the Tropics (ANAMED) has taken
on. The association organises seminars in the poorest areas of the earth
and publishes and distributes information on how to make medicinal
products in many national and regional languages.

von anamed, schnell genug wachsen und schon nach
6 Monaten geerntet werden können, um daraus Malariamedizin zu produzieren. Zum Haltbarmachen bietet sich an,
unsere Produkte auf der Erde zu trocknen. Doch der Wind
bläst die Blätter fort, Ziegen und Insekten sind schnell dabei,
die Ernte zu vernichten, es sei denn man nimmt dazu ein
Brettschneider Zelt, wie es anamed hier in Kenia macht.

Water is essential for living. Thanks to your donations, anamed
constructs wells in which the fast-growing Aeremisia plants, specialy
develops and evolved by anamed, become harvest-ready within
6 month. From this harvest anti-malaria medicine is provided. The
harvested plants are than placed on the ground for the sun and
wind to dry them, thus, conserving them for future processing. Wind
scatters the leaves, goats and insects come and spoil them, if not
anamed places them into a Brettschneider mosquito tent to protect
the harvest. Therefore Anamed thanks Brettschneider deeply and
