Beyond
Boundaries
Cambridge A Level Programme is about redefining
boundaries and in this issue of the Milestone, I want
to share some of the aspects of what it takes to be
a part of A Level phenomenon.
The basic essence of being a part of the A Level
programme is to be able to look at any piece of
information comprehensively. The student needs
to engage themselves into the content and try to
question what has been given to them critically. The
Question the answers
comprehension
further needs to be applied in
practical situations which show that the content has
been thoroughly understood.
There are qualities that drive us towards achieving
the goals that we set for ourselves. Being an ideal
student means integrating various characteristics
to achieve a unified, versatile, positive and
progressive personality. This section highlights some
of the agents that the students of A Level aspire to
enhance in order to receive a more complete
education experience in Modern Indian School.
Sustained effort
Only with dogged determination comes the sweet
taste of success. The A Level students of MIS here,
pitched with the best management colleges of
Nepal, triumphant in the “Battle of the Brains”. .
Innovative
What could be more appropriate than presentations
to showcase one’s power of critical comprehension
with the skill to express ideas and opinions eloquntly.
Presentations are a regular part of A Level studies
which enables the students to share their knowledge
on varied topics to thier peers.
Curious
What is life without a little bit of
exploration and adventure. At A Level
programme, students are encouraged
to visit different places and learn from
there. And what we learn there is life
itself.

Responsible
Being responsible is something that cannot be
taught, it has to be something that is experienced.
Students in A Level have shown thier responsibility
towards the society that they live in through
activities like library establishment and volunteering
in the rural schools of Nepal.

resulted in organisation
of numerous activities and carrying out various
social and environmental undertakings.
Boasting of great achievements here would be an
overstatement. What the students have achieved
here is the fundamentals of the process that will
lead towards leadership in their future career.
Creative
The creative aspect plays a vital role in our academic
or professional lives. Being creative is looking at
issues from a different perspective and innovating
on the existing norms. The students in A Level have
learnt that we all need to have our own unique
perspectives and that innovation through change
creates the difference that we can make in our lives.
Motivated
A student needs to be highly motivated to
understand the world that surrounds him or her.
Only the dawn of comprehension will trigger the
initiative to change- and for the better. A student in
A Level needs to be highly motivated both from
external factors, and more importantly, from within.

Consistent
Working hard for one day or two days is not that
diffiicult. What is more difficult and therefore, more
desirable, is to put in consistent hard work in all our
undertakings. A Level students are expected to be
consistent in their work for the two-year study
programme. Students who were consistent have
achieved recults that can compare with that of the
best in the world.
The Redefined Individual
The qualities that were discussed in the preceeding
pages creates the foundation for further
achievement in both personal and professional lives.
These are the qualities that the academia and the
workplace require in the current setting. It is my
pleasure to mention therefore, A Level helps redefine
the person that you are so that you can redefine the
world around you.
