Tel.No: 0712-2042395 PROSPECTUS AND BE A PILOT Preface: The Nagpur Flying Club, the only flying club from Vidarbha, was established in 1947. Since its inception, the Club has produced around 500 pilots of various categories. The Club was taken over by Government of Maharashtra in 1990 and it functioned till 1994. Government of Maharashtra took a decision for the revival of the Club in December 2006. A Company, named Nagpur Flying Club Ltd. was incorporated for the purpose, under the Indian Companies Act 1956, on 6 th March 2007. The Company is functioning under the General Administration Department (Aviation), Government of Maharashtra, through its Board of Directors and Management Committee. The Nagpur Flying Club Ltd. has its Registered Office located at the Office of the Divisional Commissioner, Civil Lines, Nagpur – 440 001 and its operational area is Hangar No.1, adjacent to Dr. Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur (10 Kms. from the Registered Office). The Management: The Company is managed by the Board of Directors. The Board has the Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur as Chairman and includes the Secretary (Aviation), Govt. of Maharashtra; Commissioner of Police, Nagpur; Collector, Nagpur; Municipal Commissioner, Nagpur; Director, Airports Authority of India, Nagpur; and other officers as Directors. The Managing Director is the Accountable Manager and is supported by the Chief Flight Instructor, Chief Engineer, Chief Ground Instructor and other required flying and ground technical staffs. The Objective: The main objective of the Club is to promote the art and science of flying and aeronautics. The aim of the Club is to train pilots for the civil aviation industry and to impart line oriented flying training of very high standards, as per ICAO norms. The students will be honed thoroughly for easy transition to the airline industry. The Infrastructure: The Club has a sound infrastructure, with the following facilities: 1. Technical-cum-operational area, covering an area of 2200 Sq.m. 2. Three Cessna 152 aircraft and one Cessna 172R (Glass cockpit) are available for flying training. Process is on to procure Multiengine aircraft from Aero Club of India. 3. Pushpak VT-DRE & Silvaire VT-DCJ, two grounded aircraft are available for the purpose of practical training and for learning the airframe and avionics subjects. 4. A runway of 3000 m length is available with 24 hour watch tower at Nagpur. 6000 ft independent runway at Amravati assigned to Flying Club exclusively for training purposes. 5. ATC and fire fighting facilities of AAI are available. The Club has its own refuelling station. 6. Modern navigational aids like VOR & ILS. 8. One very big fully closeable hangar equipped with up-to-date workshops. 9. Basic amenities like water supply, electricity etc are available. 10. Tie up planned with Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy, Raebareli for advanced technical assistance. 11. Boys and Girls hostel facilities planned. 12. Ground Training facilities being set up, equipped with classrooms and multimedia projector and interactive lab. How To Apply: The advertisement for PPL & CPL courses will be published in the leading newspapers. The application format is annexed to the prospectus. For other courses, a request can be made to the Managing Director, NFCL, Nagpur – 440 001 by enclosing a self addressed envelope affixed with Rs. 20/postage stamps, along with the application. Courses: The following courses / tests are offered: a. Ab-initio to Private Pilot Licence Course. b. Ab-initio to Commercial Pilot Licence Course. c. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) course for Private Pilot Licence (PPL) holders. d. Instrument rating courses. e. Patter flying course for AFI. f. Licence issue / Renewal tests and licence endorsement checks. g. Simulator training course, as and when the simulator is acquired. The PPL / CPL courses, mentioned above, are conducted on regular basis. The other courses are conducted on request basis. Flying training for PPL is carried out on single engine Cessna 152 aircraft for 60 hours. For CPL course, the trainees will carry out 200 hrs of flying on Cessna 152 aircraft and Cessna 172R (Glass cockpit). Thereafter, they will graduate as commercial pilots, with instrument rating (IR) on single engine aircraft. The independent & well furnished arrangement has been made for smooth conduct of ground training courses at Nagpur. Fees For Training / Endorsement / Renewal: A) Registration Charges (non-refundable): 1) SPL/PPL new registration - Rs. 2,500/- 2) For 1 hr IR renewal CPL holder students - Rs. 2,500/- 3) For 2hrs to 25 hrs flying SPL holder students - Rs. 2,500/- 4) For conversion of licences - Rs. 5,000/- 5) For 26 hrs to 50 hrs flying SPL holder students - Rs. 10,000/- B) Security Deposit (refundable): Security deposit of Rs. 20,000/- (refundable) will be charged from PPL / CPL students. If the student leaves the course in between without seeking prior approval in writing, the security amount will be forfeited. C) Flying Charges (per hours of flying): Sl. D) Ground Instructional Charges: The Club has recently installed ground training infrastructure with adequate independent space and equipped with required modern facilities. The Club has nominated trained and well qualified DGCA approved Chief Ground Instructor and Ground Instructors. CPL students will be required to undergo complete ground instructional course prescribed by the DGCA, for which a fee of upto Rs. 20,000/- for purchase of books and Rs. 80,000/- as course fee is to be remitted with the club before commencement of each course session. SPL/PPL course: Ground lectures covering DGCA specified SPL/PPL syllabus will be conducted in two weeks duration and fees of Rs. 5,000/- and Rs. 10,000/- will be charged respectively for this purpose. In addition following fees to be borne independently as per the exigencies by the students A) Examination Fee: As prescribed by the DGCA, New Delhi. In addition the examiner may charge for skill test / examination which shall be borned by individual candidates independently. B) Licence & Medical Fees: To be borne separately with the respective DGCA approved authorities. C) Accommodation / Boarding Charges: To be borne separately with the respective service provider. D) Insurance: To be borne separately with the respective service provider. E) Other Charges: The other incidental charges like library / personal books, computer training, uniform, badges, to & fro and stay at Amravati etc will be borne by the individual student as per requirement. Selection Procedure: The student-applicants from Vidarbha with Maths & Physics as the subjects in Class XII exam will be considered eligible for CPL. The merit list of students would be drawn up in the ratio of upto 1:5 on the basis of the marks secured in Maths & Physics. It is to be noted that it will not be on the basis of the aggregate marks in Class XII. The reservation pattern for the admission will be in accordance with the Government of Maharashtra guidelines. The selection procedure will be subject to modification in accordance with availability of seats from time to time. Eligibility For Selection As PPL / CPL Student: Minimum Age: 18 years. Education: Class XII (10+2) or its equivalent with Maths and Physics as the subjects. Medical: Minimum requirement is of Class II Medical, for training. However, at the time of seeking licence from DGCA, Class I Medical is mandatory. It is to be noted that the police verification and verification of credentials will be checked out by the Flying Club before registration. Admission Form: Annexed separately. ******
