At the Medtec Netstal demonstrates its

The
demands
on
the
equipment
manufacturers as regards cleanness, precision, short cycle times and
lowest material consumption are particularly high where plastic
moldings for medicine are concerned. At the corporate stand of the two
brands KraussMaffei and Netstal at the international trade fair Medtec
in Stuttgart/Germany (26 to 28 February 2013, stand 1L04) Netstal
presents its all-electric ELION 1750, an injection molding machine
which meets these expectations thanks to high-grade technology and
economically efficient engineering solutions. The ELION is particularly
suitable for the production of clean parts in the clean room on the
basis of internationally applicable guidelines.
ELION: Highest precision and energy saving with ELION 1750
„The fully electrically driven ELION is outstandingly suitable for operation in
the clean room. It produces sterile and clean plastic parts with a high
precision, the highest purity and at shortest cycle times in compliance with
all regulations. The customer gets an excellent mechanical engineering
product and, thanks to our systems and applications competence, achieves
a high economic solution standard“, explains Dr. Patrick Blessing, Manager
of Business Unit MED. At the Medtec Netstal shows its ELION 1750-530
with a medical molding that is typical for this model range. A 48-cavity mold
made by the Swiss moldmaker Kebo produces needle protectors in a HDPE
of the american company exxon mobil at a cycle of just under 5.5 seconds.
Raw material feeding is in the care of the swiss company Motan. The cooling
is taken care of the company ef-cooling. „The ELION features encapsulated
and water-cooled electric motors so that a virtually emission-free operation is
guaranteed. Moreover, the processor benefits from the machine's low

energy consumption“, says Blessing. The applied recovery principle means

that braking energy is fed back to the power circuit for supply to further
consumers on the machine. Efficiently used, up to 70% of the energy can be
saved compared with conventional drive systems. „These savings enable
our customers to produce more efficiently in the longer term", adds Blessing.
