“When I started the band many moons ago, I was more than content and in fact it was my
goal to embrace rock at its purest and simply sing about the basics....sex, drugs, and rock n
roll, and there is nothing wrong with that. But as time went on, life did not stay so simple, and
not just for me but my entire generation. Besides perhaps the legendary bands that inspired
me to play, no one I knew in the local rock scene actually tried to give their music a voice,
take stand, and actually give the world a piece of their mind. Well, I definitely have
something to say, and I hope it can be heard on my bands newest album "In Meat We Trust."
When I started, it may not have been my intent to be quite so autobiographical, but when I
had all the songs in front of me to come up with the running order or track list, there was
really only one way to arrange these songs, and that was to tell a story. I believe we have an
album that covers many issues that affect my generation - the failed education system that
promised jobs, the pressures of the job market in a declining economy, religion, social
decline, relationship problems, binge drinking, and how with all these pressures people can

Liquid Meat - The adrenaline injected rock n roll power trio was formed in Los Angeles by
German born Rocker Freddie Mack. There the band played countless gigs in the dirtiest bars to
the finest clubs Hollywood had to offer, and recorded two albums which captured Liquid Meat's
unique style that combines everything from rock, punk, funk, blues, and old school heavy metal. In
2011, after living in America for 19 years, Freddie moved back to his hometown - Munich, where
in 2012 he was asked to play at the Wacken Open Air. In 2013, he rebuilt Liquid Meat with its first
all German line up, which includes the female drummer Manu Holmer and Max Horch on bass. As
newcomers in Munich, they achieved quite a bit in a rather short amount of time.
There plan was to be on stage as often as possible, because it is not only their music but their
performance that sets them apart from the rest. Two to three times a month, Liquid Meat played a
show, and after only 6 months the trio racked up over 20 gigs, won the 3 online competitions,
were featured 4 times in newspapers, were featured on a podcast, and in May 2014, they
recorded their new album "In Meat We Trust." The album was completely funded by their fans
through an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, and was recorded by the legendary producer
Mack (Queen, ELO, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Deep purple, etc.).

brachialem Sound hämmerte Liquid Meat am Samstagabend ihre
Songs durch die Lautsprecher in die
Gehörgänge der Fans. Die in Los
Angeles von Frontmann Freddie
Mack gegründete Band tourt hierzulande mit einer rein deutschen
Besetzung und diese hat der Musik
dieses Powertrios noch mehr puren
Rock injiziert.
Zweifellos ist Freddie der bestimmende Part dieser Formation. Er ist
nicht nur Musiker, er ist der geborene Performer und für die Bühne bestimmt. Hier geht der 32-Jährige bei
jedem Ton, den er seinen Gitarrensaiten entlockt, in eine energiegeladene und unverwechselbare Bühnenshow über.
Die Besucher beim Haber konnten sich von der gelebten Leidenschaft des Gitarrespielens und der
Musik von Liquid Meat in akustisch
bombastischer Weise die Ohren
vollknallen lassen.
Kaum hat der „Califonier“ sein
Instrument umgehängt und sich die
Haare aus dem Gesicht gewischt
geht’s schon los. Schon als Freddie
bei „Deaf by 35“ zum ersten Mal in
die Saiten greift, spürt man diese
unbändige musikalische Energie,
die durch seine Adern zu schießen

(PFW) Osterhofen auf einer eigenen
Liste bei der Stadtratswahl am 16.
März an.
Bei der Nominierungsversammlung am Sonntag im Altenmarkter
Hof, zu der Initiator Erwin Gruber
geladen hatte, einigten sich die Anwesenden zu diesem Schritt. Nachdem sich PFW-Urgestein Georg
Weigl nach fünf Amtsperioden nicht
mehr zur Wahl gestellt hatte, musste nach neuen Kandidaten gesucht
werden. In geheimer Wahl einigte
man sich auf die Reihenfolge der
Kandidaten. Listenführer Erwin
Gruber, Peter Sauer, Josef Regensperger, Armin Sedlmeier und Alfred
Wührer. Sich nicht von einer Partei
mit Weisungen und vorgegeben
Richtlinien abhängig zu machen
und nur für den Bürger zu arbeiten,
ist für die Nominierten der oberste
Beweggrund für ihre Kandidatur.

Beat für die Musik von Liquid Meat.
Drums und Bass bilden als Einheit
die Grundlage für das traktierende
und hämmernde Gitarrenspiel von
Freddie Mack. Donnernd kommen
die Songs „School girls“ und Sunday Night“. Sie sind echte Liquid
Meat Songs, die sich in den Kopf
schlagen und das Publikum nicht
mehr stillsitzen lässt. Musik und
Show bilden bei dieser Band ein
Gesamtkonzept, dessen Hauptanteil sicherlich, die mit absoluter
Hingabe dargebrachte Performance
von Freddie Mack beschert. Nur
zum Singen bleibt er kurz am Mikro
stehen, sonst tanzt, dreht und kniet
sich der Frontmann permanent auf
der Bühne, die Haare im Rhythmus
seiner Musik durch die Luft schleudernd.
Das Publikum war begeistert und
bei der geforderten Zugabe ballerte
das Power-Trio nochmals ihre, mit
Volldampf geprägte Musik in die
Ohren. Ein tolles Konzert aus Musik
und Show.

Ein sehr inniges Verhältnis hatte der „Queen“�Sänger“ zu seinem Patenkind.
Ganz nah am Mikrofon wie sein Pate.
Mit viel Geduld gewöhnt „Big Freddie“ den „Little Freddie“ ans Schaukelpferd.
„Mein Patenonkel gibt mir innere Stärke“
Für „Liquid Meat“�Frontmann Freddie Mack war der enge Kontakt zu seinem
weltberühmten Patenonkel, Queen�Frontman Freddie Mercury, etwas ganz Besonderes
Freddie zu Harrods in den Spielwarenladen (Anmerkung der Redaktion: Harrods zählt zu den berühmtesten, größten und exklusivsten
Kaufhäusern der Welt) und lass dem
Kleinen so viel kaufen, wie er will“.
Als kleiner Junge habe er sich damals wie im Paradies gefühlt, so der
knapp 32-Jährige.
„Ich erinnere mich noch sehr gut,
als mein Patenonkel das letzte Mal
vor seinem Tod bei uns zuhause gewesen ist. Ich habe im Garten gespielt und meine Eltern waren irgendwie traurig, als Freddie Mercury unser Heim wieder verlassen hatte.“ Mack erzählt weiter. „Das Lied
„Made in Heaven“ hat mein Patenonkel Freddie Mercury mir gewidmet. Immer wenn ich es höre, überkommen mich sentimentale Gefühle.“ Man könnte Freddie Mack stundenlang zuhören, wenn er über seinen Patenonkel spricht.

O s t e r h o f e n . Der fast 32-jährige
Freddie Mack streichelt ein, mit
dunkelbraunem Fell bezogenes
Schaukelpferd. Als er so mit seinen
Fingern durch die weiße Mähne dieses schon älteren Spielgerätes
streicht, bekommt der selbstbewusste und gestandene Hardrocker
glasige Augen. Es ist ein sehr wertvolles Erinnerungsstück, das er von
seinem Patenonkel als kleiner Junge
geschenkt bekam. Sein Taufpate,
der leider nicht mehr unter uns
weilt, war eine sehr charismatische
Person, gilt als schillerndste und facettenreichste Figur der Rockgeschichte: Freddie Mercury - der legendäre Sänger und Frontmann der
famosen und durch große stilistische Vielfalt gekennzeichneten
weltberühmten Rockband „Queen“.
Es ist ja nicht alltäglich, so eine
weltberühmte Persönlichkeit als
Patenonkel zu haben. Freddie Mack,
im schwarzen T-Shirt mit „Motörhead“-Aufdruck, nimmt einen Zug
von der Zigarette, und während er
sich seine braunen, bis zur Schulter
reichenden Haare aus dem Gesicht
streicht, öffnet Freddie Mack sein
Herz und erzählt dem Osterhofener
Anzeiger über Freddie Mercury und
über sein Leben als Patenkind dieses grandiosen Musikers.
„Er ist ein großer Teil meines Lebens und ich werde die Erinnerungen an ihn immer im Herzen tragen“. Der Patenonkel habe sich persönlich intensiv und rührend um ihn
gekümmert und aus allen Ecken der
Welt, auf denen Mercury mit
„Queen“ unterwegs gewesen war, so
oft es ging angerufen und nachgefragt. Aufgrund des Berufes von Vater Reinhold Mack, von allen nur
„Mack“ genannt, kam es zu diesem
innigen familiären Kontakt. Sein
Vater ist Musikproduzent und
mischte als Tontechniker am Tonpult in dem, für seinen legendären
Ruf bekannten „Musicland Studio“
in München für die Größen der
Rock- und Popgeschichte den
Sound. Stars wie Rolling Stones,
Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep
Purple oder auch BAP und Udo Jürgens, um nur einige zu nennen, gaben sich dort die Klinke in die
Hand. Ein besonderes Verhältnis
hatten Vater Reinhold und Mutter
Ingrid zu „Queen“ und ganz speziell-familiär zu Freddie Mercury.

gen haben und es kaum vorstellbar
war, dieses Album fertigzustellen,
kam der „Stein“ ins Rollen.
Freddie Macks Mutter tat einen
weitreichenden Ausspruch. Es sei
leichter mit einem Kind schwanger
zu sein und es auf die Welt zu bringen, als das Album von „Queen“
fertigzustellen, erzählt Freddie
Mack. Falls dies eintreten sollte,
hatten sich Freddie Mercury, Brian
May, Roger Taylor und John Deacon
bereiterklärt, die Taufpaten zu sein.
Und so ist es gekommen.
Letztendlich fragten die Eltern
nach einem Konzert im Backstagebereich Mercury und Deacon. „It‘s a
great honor“, war die Aussage von
Freddie Mercury. Der kleine Mack
wurde auf die Namen John Frederick getauft. Er war „Little Freddie“ und sein Patenonkel „Big Freddie“. Der „Great Pretender“ Mercury war als Patenonkel bei der Taufe
persönlich

„Als

erfahren hatte, hat er spontan seinen Assistenten Peter Freestone angerufen. Dieser sollte Blumen in die
Klinik zu meiner Mutter bringen.
Auf Nachfrage, welche Sorte, antwortete mein Patenonkel in seiner
Art „Fuck it. Buy them all“. „Daraufhin kaufte Freestone den ganzen Blumenladen leer und bestückte
Gemütlich in der Küche in der Wohnung in England beim

das Krankenzimmer von meiner
Mutter“, erzählt Mack weiter. Für
ihn sei dieser Umgang ganz normal
gewesen, so Mack. „Freddie Mercury war ein Teil unserer Familie und
er hat mich wie seinen eigenen Sohn
gesehen“, sagt Mack voller Stolz.
Sooft es zeitlich ging, habe Mercury
die Familie besucht oder die Macks
sind zum „Queen-Sänger.
Freddie Mack erinnert sich noch,
als er das erste Mal seinen Patenonkel und die Band so richtig registrierte. Als kleines Kind habe er sie
nur aus dem Fernseher gekannt.
„Ich bin richtig erschrocken, als die
in echt vor mir standen“, lacht
Mack. An das Schaukelpferd, einem
ganz speziellen Geschenk von Freddie Mercury, denkt der junge Musiker noch heute. „Wie ich es gesehen
habe, so mit dem Fell, da habe ich
fürchterlich geweint - irgendwie
habe ich mich da erschreckt.“ Doch
sein Patenonkel habe viel Zeit mit
ihm und dem Schaukelpferd verbracht. „Freddie Mercury war dann
glücklich, als ich mich dann endlich
über dieses Geschenk gefreut
habe.“
An ein ganz besonders Erlebnis
denkt Mack noch heute voller Freude. Bei einem der vielen Besuche in
England hat „Big Freddie“ zu Mutter Ingrid gesagt: „Geh mit Little

„Ich hatte nie so den Wunsch,
Musiker zu werden“, sagt Freddie
Mack. Als er neun Jahre alt war,
sind seine Eltern nach Los Angeles
gezogen und dort hat er in der Waldorfschule „viele künstlerische Sachen probiert“. Die Initialzündung
kam erst mit 15, da hat der junge
Mack das „Black Album“ von Metallica gehört. „Das hat mein Leben
verändert“, so Freddie. Nachdem er
sich an die Gitarre nicht rangetraut
hatte, kaufte er sich mit 15 Jahren
seine erste Bassgitarre. Bei einem
Schulevent hatte die Band ihren
ersten Auftritt. Als er die Schule beendet hatte, stürzte er sich bei einem Sommercamp für Kinder voll
in die Arbeit. Mit seinem polnischen
Freund Jack begann er nun, Gitarre
zu lernen. Der Traum „Musiker zu
sein“ war geboren. „Bei 40 Grad im
Schatten habe ich in unserer nichtisolierten Garage stundenlang geprobt“, erinnert sich Mack.
Mit 21 Jahren hat er dann begonnen Gitarre zu lernen, weil er seine
eigene Musik spielen und komponieren wollte. Es folgte die erste
Band in Los Angeles. „Ich sehe mich
mehr als Performer, denn als Musiker“, sagt Freddie über sich selbst.
Die Bühnenpräsenz sei für ihn das
Wichtigste. In L.A. spielte die Band
„Liquid Meat“ überall, von der
größten Spelunke bis hin zu den
edelsten Clubs. Seit zwei Jahren ist
er mit in Deutschland präsent. Seine Eltern unterstützten ihn so gut
sie können. „Mein Vater ist vor einer
Show nervöser als ich“, lacht Freddie. In einer rein deutschen Besetzung mit Manu Holmer an den
Drums und Bassist Max Horch will
das Trio noch mehr Gas geben.
„Meine Musik ist durch die beiden
Musiker noch besser geworden“,
sagt Freddie. Die vielen Gigs der
Band beweisen es.
Das Osterhofener Publikum hat
am kommenden Samstag beim „Haber“ Gelegenheit „Liquid Meat“ im
Doppelkonzert mit „5 Aces“ live zu
hören und zu sehen.

Fachklinik wird in Eigenverwaltung fortgeführt
Dr. Josef Oswald, Geschäftsführer: Neues Ärzteteam geht zuversichtlich an den Start

„Wie geht es weiter?“ Diese Fragen
beantwortete Dr. Josef Oswald, Geschäftsführer der Fachklinik Osterhofen am vergangenen Samstag in
einem Pressegespräch mit dem
Osterhofener Anzeiger.
Drei turbulente Monate liegen
hinter der Fachklinik Osterhofen.
Doch aufgegeben hat niemand – im
Gegenteil. Der Insolvenzantrag
wurde gestellt und eingeleitet, und
das Gericht gab ihrem Anliegen, die
Fachklinik im Rahmen eines Sanierungsverfahens in Eigenverwaltung
weiterzuführen, erst kürzlich grünes Licht. „Die Patientenversorgung in der Abteilung für Amputationsmedizin und im Zentrum für
interdisziplinäre Schmerztherapie
wird ohne jede Einschränkung fortgeführt“, so der Geschäftsführer.
Schon letztes Jahr wurde mit der interdisziplinären Schmerztherapie
erfolgreich begonnen, jetzt möchte
man wieder die Aufwärtswelle nutzen und mit den beiden leitenden
Fachärzten Dr. med. Iván Kiss (Anästhesie) und Dr. med. Nils Nowacki
(Orthopädie) an den Start gehen. Ihnen zur Seite steht Diplom-Psychologin Julia Penzkofer und ein sehr
engagiertes Team, bestehend aus
speziell ausgebildeten Ärzten, Psychologen, verschiedenen Therapeuten und Pflegekräften. Als wichtiger Berater in Sachen Insolvenz
steht ihnen Dr. Andreas Schleicher
zur Seite. Er ist sehr zuversichtlich,
was den Fortbestand der Fachklinik
angeht.
Man musste zwar in der vergangenen Zeit ein Minus bei der Belegung der Betten hinnehmen, Dr. Josef Oswald blickt genauso wie die
beiden leitenden Fachärzte und Dr.
Andreas Schleicher optimistisch in
die Zukunft. Die Belegung habe
deutlich zugenommen, auch ist weiterhin ein Aufwärtstrend zu erwarten. Alles in allem eine gesunde Betriebsentwicklung der Fachklinik.
Die Basis dafür seien, so der Geschäftsführer, qualifizierte Mitarbeiter und zufriedene Patienten. Bis
zu 28 Patienten können im Zentrum
aufgenommen werden. In einem
Aufenthaltszeitraum von zehn bis
zwölf Tagen in der Klinik werden
die Schmerzen anhand einer Reihe
von Therapien gelindert und die Beweglichkeit sichergestellt.
Als feststand, dass die Fachklinik
in Eigenverwaltung weitergeführt
werden kann, wurden alle Hebel in
Bewegung gesetzt, um schnellstmöglich eine Infoveranstaltung
über die „Schmerztherapie“ für Patienten und Angehörige sowie ärztliche Kollegen zu organisieren. Dabei stellten am Samstagvormittag
Dr. med. Iván Kiss und Dr. med. Nils
Nowacki sowie Diplom-Psychologin Julia Penzkofer die Leistungen
des Zentrums für interdisziplinäre
Schmerztherapie der Fachklinik
Osterhofen vor.

Zeit von 14.45 bis 15 Uhr parkte
eine Osterhofenerin ihren silberfarbenen Skoda am EDEKA-Parkplatz
in der Seewiesen. Hier wurde er von
unbekanntem Verursacher, vermutlich mit Pkw, an der Stoßstange hinten rechts angefahren. Wer kann
Hinweise über den Verursacher geben? Der Schaden wird auf 100

Ein Abend, zwei Bands, ein Gedanke: Hochspannung pur durch
brachialen powervollen Sound trotziger Rock and Roll - Energie. Das
sollte man auf keinen Fall verpassen. Für den Lokalmatador 5 Aces
beginnt eine neue Ära. Das Atomkraftwerk von einer Band wurde
2009 gegründet und ab 2014 in neuer Besetzung on Stage. Neben HansJürgen Vogl, dem staatlich geprüften und mit Auszeichnung versehenem Musiklehrer für Gitarre, dessen schnelle Riffs den Gitarrenhals

Das adrenalin-injizierte Rock
Power Trio Liquid Meat wurde 2004
von Rocker Freddie Mack in Los
Angeles gegründet. Dort spielte die
Band unzählbare Gigs in den dreckigsten Schuppen bis hin zu den
feinsten Bühnen und nahmen zwei
Alben auf. Diese sind geprägt durch
den einzigartigen Stil von Liquid
Meat, der alles von Rock‘n’Roll,
Funk, old school Punk und Metal
zusammenbringt. Im Jahr 2011
kehrte Mack zurück in seine Heimat
nach München. 2012 spielte er beim
weithin bekannten und berühmten
Open Air in Wacken. Seit 2013 gibt
es die erste komplett deutsche Besetzung von Liquid Meat. Zusammen mit Brachial-Schlagzeugerin
Manu Holmer aus Metten (die übrigens einen Abschluss als „Ensembleleiterin für orchestrales Schlagwerk“ hat) und Bassist Max Horch
aus Kassel (mit Bassläufen, die einem Donnersturm gleichen) hat
Freddie Mack, der mit seiner energiegeladenen Gitarren und Bühnenshow brilliert, nach eigenen Worten
„ein neues und tolles Band-Erlebnis“.
Als „newcomers“ in München haben sie in kürzester Zeit sehr viel
erreicht. Durch Fanvoting haben sie
den ersten Platz im „Heavy Rocktoberfest Festival“ gewonnen (mit
1/3-mal so viel Stimmen wie die
Zweitplazierten. Dasselbe haben sie
am 29. November im „8 Below“
beim „Remmidemmi Festival“ wie-
derholt. Außerdem wurden sie für
den SPH Band-Contest am 21. Februar 2014 im Sound Café ausgewählt. Jeder Club der von Liquid
Meat gerockt wurde hat prompt für
ein zweites Konzert angefragt. Von
Beginn an ist es ihr Plan, auf so viele
Bühnen zu rocken, wie es nur geht,
denn keiner kann das besser als sie
und das beweisen sie zwei- bis dreimal im Monat ohne jegliche Pause.

The "californian" barely has his guitar strapped on, and the hair brushed out of his face, before the show has
already started. Already, as Freddie grips the strings for the first time to begin the song "Deaf by 35", one can
feel the irrepressible musical energy that seems to shoot through his veins. Powerful rock n roll, paired with
his stage presence, bursts from the Habers stage. Mack seems to not be able to pick up the guitar with out
relentlessly chasing the riffs across his strings and out of his guitar with his plectrum. He lives his music,
honest and free from any restrictions, the band fires its music into the tiny club. It is Rock N Roll, Funk, Punk,
and Metal, all at once, and that shapes the distinctively unique style of Liquid Meat. Mack unlocks his guitars
sound, that seems to drip like fat, and combines with the bass and drums to form a single unit. With Fast and
thundering basslines, Max Horch is at the helm of the four stringed instrument. Complimenting it perfectly, is
the timing of drummer Manu Holmer, delivers the hard beat for Liquid Meats music. Drums and Bass become
one, and are the foundation for the bombastically brute force sounds of Freddie Macks guitar. Like thunder,
songs like "School Girls" and "Sunday Night" come crashing down. They are authentic Liquid Meat songs
that will bash through your head and keeps their audience constantly moving. Music and show together form

....The adrenaline injected rock n roll power trio Liquid Meat was founded in 2004 by Rocker Freddie Mack in
Los Angeles. There they played an incalculable amount of gigs in the dirtiest hole in the walls and on its finest
stages, and recorded two records which were shaped by the one of a kind style of Liquid Meat, that
combines everything from rock n roll, to funk, old school punk, and metal. In 2011, Mack returned to his
motherland-Munich. 2012 he played at the well known and famous Wacken Open Air. Since 2013, the first
completely german line up has been active. Together with the brutal drummer Manu Holmer (who actually
has a degree as ensemble leader for orchestral percussion, and Max Horch (with bass lines that resemble a
thunderstorm), Freddie Mack, with his explosive guitars and brilliant stage show, in his own words- has a
totally new and awesome band experience.!
As Newcomers in Munich, Liquid meat has reached a lot in just a short time. Through fan voting, they won
first place with over 1/3 more votes than second, they had the honor to play at the Heavy Rocktoberfest. The
same feat was repeated in November with the Remmidemmi festival, and they were selected to play in the
SPH Band contest on february 21st in the sound cafe in Munich. Every club that was rocked by Liquid Meat
has immediately asked them back. From the beginning it was their plan to rock on as many stages as
possible, because no one can do it better than them...and they prove this 2-3 times a month with out any

For Liquid Meat frontman Freddie Mack, the close relationship with his world famous godfather Freddie Mercury was something very
special.!
Osterhofen. The almost 32 year old Freddie Mack strokes the dark brown fur of a rocking horse. As his fingers run through the white
mane of this old toy, the self confident and proud rocker gets watery eyes. The rocking horse is a prized piece of memoribillia that he
received as a present from his godfather when he was a young boy. His godfather, who unfortunately is not with us anymore, was a
very charismatic person, who is regarded as one of the most glamorous, flamboyent, and multifaceted figures in rock history:
Freddie Mercury- the legendary singer and frontman of the famous and most stylistically diverse world famous rock band Queen. !

It is not common to have such a world famous personality as a godfather. Freddie Mack, clad in a black Motörhead T-Shirt, takes a
drag from his cigarette, and brushes his long brown shoulder length hair out of his face, before he starts opening up his soul to the
“Osterhofener Anzeiger” about Freddie Mercury and his life as the godson of this grandiose musician.!

“He is a big part of my life and I will always treasure my memories of him”. The godfather cared for him in a very personal and
intensive manner, from no matter what part of the world he was in at the moment with his band Queen, Freddie Mercury called and
asked about his godson as much as humanly possible. Due to his father Reinhold Macks (known simply as Mack to the world)
occupation, this close family relation with his godfather was possible. His father is a music producer who mixed and recorded at the
legendary Musicland Studios in Munich, for the biggest names in rock and pop history. Bands like the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin,
Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, or famous german bands like BAP and Udo Jürgens, to name just a few, recorded at Mack’s studio.
Freddie Macks father and mother, Ingrid, had a very special and close relationship with Queen, in particular with Freddie Mercury. !

From 1981-1982, the recording of “Hot Space” seemed to be taking an eternity, and there was no end in sight. !
Freddie Mack said his mother had the revelation that it was easier to be pregnant and give birth to a child, than to finish recording of
this Queen album. If the child was actually gonna be born before the record was finished, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor,
and John Deacon, said they would become godathers to the child. And that is how it happened.!

Actually, it was backstage at a Queen concert where his parents asked Freddie Mercury and John Deacon formally if they would be
their childs godathers. “it would be a great honor” said Freddie Mercury. Thus the child was named John-Frederick. He was “Little
Freddie” and his godfather was “Big Freddie”. The “Great Pretender” Mercury was personally at the baptism. “As the singer of
Queen found out about my birth, he called his assistant Peter Freestone. He was to buy flowers and bring them to my mothers
hospital room. When Peter asked what flowers to bring, my godfather said, “Fuck it, buy them all”. “And with that, Freestone bought
every flower from the florist and filled my mothers entire hospital room with them”, says Mack. For him, his interactions with his
godfather were completely natural, “Freddie Mercury was a part of our family, and he saw me as his own son” says Mack proudly. As
often as possible, Mercury visited the Mack’s or they visited him. !

Freddie Mack remembers the moment where he registered who his godfather and his band was. As a very young boy, he saw their
faces on the television. “I was really shocked the first time he stood in front of me” laughs Mack. He remembers the rocking horse as
a very special present from Freddie Mercury, “because when i saw it, with its fur and its mane, i guess it was prettl life like that i was
very terrified of it”. But his godfather after giving him the present, spent a lot of time with him and the rocking horse, “because he
wanted to make sure that I was not terrified of it, so he showed me that it was a toy, and he would not leave until I smiled and was
happy again”.!
Another very special occasion that Mack remembers very fondly, was the time he visited “Big Freddie” in England with his mother
Ingrid, and Big Freddie said, “go with Little Freddie to Harrods (a world famous and exclusive department store in London) and let
him buy as much as he wants”. As a little child he felt like he was in paradise. !

“I remember quite vividly the last time he visited us at out house before he died. I was playing in the garden and when he left my
parents were very sad for some reason”. Mack continues, “my godather dedicated the song “Made in Heaven” to me. Every time I
hear it, I am overcome with emotion.” One could listen to Freddie Mack for hours when he speaks about his godather.!

His own Journey to becoming a Musician !
“I never had the dream of becoming a musician”, said Freddie Mack. When he was 9 years old, his parents moved to Los Angeles
where he attended a Waldorf school, where he “was able to to try out a lot of different artistic things”. However, the initial spark came
at the age of 15, when the young Mack discovered and heard Metallicas Black Album for the first time. “That changed my life” said
Mack. Because he did not dare try to play the guitar, he bought himself a bass guitar. Years later, when he was 18, graduated high
school, and was working as a counselor at a summer camp for children, was when he really started to go to work musically
speaking. Together with his Polish friend Jack, he started to “really” learn bass guitar. The dream “to become a musician” was born.
“With 40 degrees in the shade, I spent countless hours every day in out uninsulated garage practicing”, Mack recalls. !

At the age of 21, he started to teach himself how to play guitar, because he wanted to compose and play his own musik. Thats when
he formed his band. “I see myself as a performer, not a musician”, says Mack about himself. Stage presence is the most important
thing for him. !
In L.A. his band Liquid Meat played everywhere, from the dirtiest bars to the finest stages. Since 2 years now, his band has its
presence in Germany. His parents are supportive of him, “”My father is more nervous than me before a show”, laughs Freddie. !
With his first all german line up with Manu Holmer on the Drums and Bassist Max Horch, the power trio wants to put the pedal to the
metal and give it their absolute all. “My music has become better thanks to my new bandmates”, says Freddie. The plentiful amount
of gigs prove this.!
