Freuen Sie sich auf München!
München, die Weltstadt mit Herz, bietet viel: Von Kultur bis Kochkunst,
von Geschichte bis Shopping, von Architektur bis Landschaft. Nach unserem Ausflug in die Frankenmetropole Nürnberg zur Jahrestagung
2009 kehren wir dieses Jahr in die bayerische Landeshauptstadt zurück.
Wenige Münchner dürften das MVG Museum in Giesing
kennen, das historische Straßenbahnen, Busse und Arbeitsfahrzeuge aus unterschiedlichen Epochen der Stadtgeschichte präsentiert und uns als besonderer Rahmen
für den Begrüßungsabend zur Verfügung steht. Neben
den üblichen Freuden des Auftaktabends, Freunde wiederzutreffen und neue Bekanntschaften zu schließen, gibt
es die Gelegenheit, sich von kundigen Museumsmitarbeitern die Funktion historischer Nahverkehrsfahrzeuge erläutern zu lassen.

Culture and culinary arts, history and shopping, architecture and landscapes. Following our Annual Meeting in the Franconian city of
Nuremberg in 2009, this year we return to the capital city of Bavaria.
Few locals will be familiar with the site of our welcome
evening: The Museum of the Munich Transport Corporation
(MVG) which exhibits historical trams, buses and utility
vehicles. In addition to the general opportunity to greet
old friends and make new acquaintances, the welcome
evening enables you to ask the knowledgeable museum
staff to explain the functions of historical public transport

die aktuelle Ausstellung öffnen wird.
Sie steht mitten in München und wacht nicht nur über das Oktoberfest
– die „Bavaria“. Und die kann man besteigen und aus ihrem Kopf auf
die Stadt blicken. Dies ist nur ein Höhepunkt aus unserem Programm
an Führungen und Besichtigungen.
Wie lange ist es her, dass Sie auf 181 Meter über der Stadt diniert
haben? Sehr lange? Das galt auch für uns, und wir haben deshalb das
Dreh-Restaurant im Olympiaturm für den Galaabend gewählt. Dort
werden wir in luftiger Höhe über der Stadt mit einem wunderbaren
Abendessen und künstlerischer Unterhaltung verwöhnt. Für einen 360°
Ausblick auf München und die Berge müssen wir alle gemeinsam Daumendrücken, dass wir schönes Wetter haben.
Ein bayerisches Bilderbuchwetter würde dann auch den Ausflug
am Samstag krönen. Der Besuch im Walchenseekraftwerk, das zu
den größten Hochdruck-Speicher-Kraftwerken Deutschlands gehört
und schon 1924 in Betrieb genommen wurde, sowie eine Führung im
Franz Marc Museum in Kochel spannen einen abschließenden Bogen
zwischen Technik und Kultur.
Die Bezirksgruppe Bayern freut sich darauf, Sie im Oktober in München
zu begrüßen.

der Kunst is a leading global centre of modern art which opens its
doors to us for guided tours through the current exhibition.
The “Bavaria” statue is located in the centre of Munich and watches
over the Oktoberfest. It is possible to climb the statue’s interior staircase up to its head in order to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. This
is just one highlight in our programme of guided tours and visits.
When was the last time you had dinner at 181 meter above the city?
Years ago? We too, which was why we chose the revolving restaurant
in the Munich Olympic Tower for our gala dinner. We will enjoy a
wonderful evening with dinner and an artistic performance in the
restaurant high above the city. Let’s cross fingers for good weather so
we can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Munich and the mountains.
Picture-book Bavarian weather would also be ideal for our excursion
on Saturday. A visit to the power station at Walchensee, one of the
largest high-pressure storage power plants in Germany, that was put
into operation in 1924, and a guided tour to the Franz Marc museum
in Kochel combine impressive technology and expressionist art for a
splendid finale of our Annual Meeting.
The Bavarian regional group looks forward to welcoming you to Munich

“die taschenphilharmonie”
Peter Stangel
Die taschenphilharmonie wurde im Jahr 2005 vom Dirigenten und
Komponisten Peter Stangel gegründet und versammelt eine kammersinfonische Besetzung erstklassiger Musiker aus vielen Ländern. Das
„kleinste Sinfonieorchester der Welt“ spielt – vorwiegend in München –
sinfonische Werke mit 12 – 18 Musikern und wurde bundesweit durch
die CD-Reihe „Große Klassik für kleine Hörer“ (zusammen mit DIE
ZEIT) bekannt.

SPECIAL LECTURE
Peter Stangel
The “pocket philharmonic orchestra” was founded by the conductor
and composer Peter Stangel in 2005 and assembles a chamber symphonic line-up of first-class musicians from many countries. Presenting 12 to 18 musicians, the “smallest symphony orchestra in the
world” plays symphonic works and performs primarily in Munich. It became known in Germany through a series of CDs named “Große Klassik für kleine Hörer”, and published in cooperation with DIE ZEIT.
Als Dirigent und Generalmusikdirektor war Peter Stangel viele Jahre
an verschiedenen Opernhäusern und Sinfonieorchestern Europas
tätig. Nach dem Motto „klein, aber fein“ präsentiert die taschenphilharmonie klassische Musik vom Barock bis zur Gegenwart auf neue
Weise. Mit „laufendem Orchester“ wird Peter Stangel Mozarts JupiterSinfonie auseinandernehmen und Formen, Motive, Interpretation,
Geschichte und Geschichten erklären. Die Neu-Instrumentierungen
der Werke stammen wie die Programm-Konzepte und die Texte von
Peter Stangel selbst.
For many years Peter Stangel was a conductor and chief music director with various opera houses and symphony orchestras in Europe.
Based on the motto “small but excellent”, the taschenphilharmonie
orchestra presents classical music ranging from the Baroque era to the
contemporary in a new manner. With the aid of a “mobile orchestra”,
Peter Stangel will dismantle Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony, illustrating its
forms, motifs, interpretation, history and anecdotes. The programme
concepts, the arrangements of compositions in new instrumentations
and the texts are all created by Peter Stangel himself.

Begrüßungsabend im MVG Museum München
Die über 5.000 qm große ehemalige Buswerkstätte auf dem Gelände
der Trambahn-Hauptwerkstätte der Münchner Verkehrsbetriebe beheimatet das MVG Museum, das die über 130-jährige Geschichte des
öffentlichen Nahverkehrs in München dokumentiert. Das denkmalgeschützte Gebäude wurde vor einigen Jahren sehr hochwertig umgebaut. Der lichtdurchflutete Eingangsbereich hat den Charakter einer
großen Werkstatt-Kathedrale des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts. Unaufdringliche Farben und Materialien unterstreichen die außergewöhnliche Architektur. Mit seinen Galerien und der begehbaren Verbindungsbrücke
bietet dieser Raum eine einzigartige Atmosphäre für die Eröffnung der
diesjährigen GRUR Jahrestagung.

Ludwig Schwanthaler entworfen und von Ferdinand von Miller gegossen. In ihrem Kopf befindet sich eine Aussichtsplattform, die man bis
15. Oktober täglich besteigen kann.
Hinter der Bavaria steht die Ruhmeshalle, die zwischen 1843 und 1853
im Auftrag von König Ludwig I. von Bayern als Ehrentempel für bedeutende bayerische Persönlichkeiten von Leo von Klenze entworfen wurde.
Welcome Evening in MVG Museum Munich
The former bus repair shop on the premises of the main tram workshop
of the Munich Transport Corporation, a space measuring over 5,000 m²,
documents the history of public transport in Munich going back more
than 130 years. The building is a protected monument that was extensively refurbished several years ago. The light-filled entrance hall dating
from the early 20th century has the character of a large industrial cathedral. Carefully chosen colours and materials underscore the unusual
architecture. The galleries and small footbridges of the space create a
unique atmosphere for the opening event of this year’s GRUR Annual
Meeting.

Got some spare time? Follow the Theresienhöhe and keep to your
right and you’ll spot an 18.5-meter-high statue towering over the
Oktoberfest. Sculpted by Ludwig Schwanthaler and cast by
Ferdinand von Miller, the “Bavaria” statue provides fabulous views
from its viewing platform located in its head. (The platform closes for
the season after 15 October.)
The building behind the Bavaria, the Hall of Fame, was designed by
Leo von Klenze and commissioned by King Ludwig I of Bavaria in
1843-1853 to honour important Bavarians.

Thomas Manns Schwiegereltern Pringsheim residierten in einer NeoRenaissance-Villa in der Nähe des Königsplatzes, damals Arcisstraße 12.
Während des Dritten Reiches wurde der klassizistische Rahmen von
den Nationalsozialisten für ihre Zwecke missbraucht. Die Partei richtete hier ihre Parteizentrale, den sogenannten „Führerbau“ ein. Nach
1945 war an der Arcisstraße 12 das Amerika Haus mit dem Art Collection Point untergebracht, seit 1957 ist es das Hauptgebäude der heutigen Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Der Kanzler der
Hochschule für Musik und Theater und seine Mitarbeiter bieten den
Teilnehmern der GRUR Jahrestagung eine exklusive Führung durch die
verschiedenen Kapitel der Münchener Geschichte des vergangenen
Jahrhunderts, die an dieser Adresse geschrieben wurden.

Thomas Manns Schwiegereltern Pringsheim residierten in einer NeoRenaissance-Villa in der Nähe des Königsplatzes, damals Arcisstraße 12.
Während des Dritten Reiches wurde der klassizistische Rahmen von
den Nationalsozialisten für ihre Zwecke missbraucht. Die Partei richtete hier ihre Parteizentrale, den sogenannten „Führerbau“ ein. Nach
1945 war an der Arcisstraße 12 das Amerika Haus mit dem Art Collection Point untergebracht, seit 1957 ist es das Hauptgebäude der heutigen Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. Der Kanzler der
Hochschule für Musik und Theater und seine Mitarbeiter bieten den Teilnehmern der GRUR Jahrestagung eine exklusive Führung durch die

Established in 1986, the Franz Marc Museum in Kochel exhibits artworks
from the expressionist painter Franz Marc, along with works from his

hydro-electric-storage power plant, generating electricity from the gradient between the Walchensee and Kochelsee. Operation began in
1924. With an output of 124 MW, the plant is still one of the largest of its
kind in Germany. The Walchensee power station was constructed by
Oskar von Miller in an effort to provide Bavaria and its railways with electric power. Von Miller was certainly a man ahead of his times, as even

The Lenbachhaus in Munich was built between 1887 and 1890. Franz von
Lenbach hired Gabriel von Seidel, then Munich’s most fashionable architect, to design the villa in the Tuscan style. Built as a residence and studio
for Lenbach, the “Prince of Painters”, the Italianate three-wing structure
was painted in the characteristic hue known as “Munich yellow” and featured a stately staircase, columns, loggias, curved and arched elements,
terracotta vessels on pedestals, and inset stucco reliefs to frame the
owner’s social standing and aspirations.

The Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism
opened its doors to the public about a year ago. The new education and
memorial centre houses the permanent exhibition Munich and the National Socialists as well as a variety of temporary special exhibitions.

Ohel-Jakob-Synagoge
Jakobsplatz, Zentrum – Nähe Marienplatz
Die im Jahr 2006 geweihte Synagoge steht auf dem Sankt-Jakobs-Platz
im Herzen der Stadt. Entworfen von den Architekten Wandel Hoefer
Lorch, ist die Synagoge Teil des Jüdischen Zentrums Jakobsplatz, zu dem
auch das Jüdische Museum, das Gemeindehaus mit Konzertsaal und Restaurant, sowie die Schule und Bibliothek gehören. Als wichtigstes Bauwerk
steht die Synagoge frei auf dem Platz. Ihr mit Natursteinen verkleideter
Sockel erinnert an den Jerusalemer Tempel. Der lichte Glasaufbau mit einer
Tragstruktur aus Stahl, die an ineinander verschachtelte Davidsterne
denken lässt, steht für das Stiftszelt. Nachts ist die Dachkonstruktion von
innen her beleuchtet. Im Innenraum sind Zedernholz aus dem Libanon
und Stein aus Israel die bestimmenden Materialien. Ausgezeichnet mit
dem Deutschen Städtebaupreis 2008, überzeugt das „Jüdische Zentrum
Jakobsplatz“ mit seinen Bauten und seinem städtebaulichen Konzept, das

The synagogue, consecrated in 2006, stands on Sankt-Jakobs-Platz in
the heart of the city. Designed by architects Wandel Hoefer Lorch, the
synagogue is part of the “Jüdisches Zentrum Jakobsplatz” (Jewish Center
Jakobsplatz), which also features the Jewish Museum, a community house
with concert hall and restaurant, as well as a school and library. As the
most important structure in this group, the synagogue stands alone on the
square. Its pediment, covered with natural stone, is reminiscent of the temple in Jerusalem. The bright, glass construction with a skeleton of steel, reminiscent of intertwining Stars of David, stands for the original tented temple or tabernacle of Jewish tradition. This roof construction is illuminated
from the inside at night. Cedar wood from Lebanon and stone from Israel
are the most important interior materials. Awarded the German Prize for
Town Planning (Deutsche Städtebaupreis) in 2008 the Jewish Center

Die Verfolgung der Sinti und Roma in München
Die Diskriminierung, Ausgrenzung und der Völkermord an den Sinti und
Roma gehören nicht nur in München zu den weniger bekannten Kapiteln der Geschichte. Bereits seit dem Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts verstärkten sich Verfolgungsmaßnahmen gegen diese Volksgruppe. Mit
den Nürnberger Gesetzen von 1935, die Sinti und Roma wie Juden zur
„Fremdrasse“ erklärten, erreichten Ausgrenzung und Verfolgung eine
neue Stufe; der „Himmler-Erlass“ vom Dezember 1938 mündete im systematischen Völkermord. In der Nachkriegszeit erfolgte die öffentliche
Anerkennung des an den Sinti und Roma geschehenen Unrechts nur
zögernd; heute haben wir es teilweise wieder mit einem Erstarken alter
Vorurteile sowie mit Ausgrenzung und Diskriminierung zu tun.

Persecution of Sinti and Roma in Munich
This exhibition explores the discrimination and genocide of Sinti and
Roma, an aspect that has often been neglected not only in Munich’s
history. The persecution of this ethnic group increased dramatically at
the beginning of the 20th century, with the Sinti and Roma being likened
to the Jews. In 1935 the Nuremberg laws declared them an “alien race”.
A systematic genocide of this ethnic group began after Himmler’s decree
of December 1938. Public recognition of the atrocities carried out
against the Sinti and Roma was quite hesitant after the war. Today, old
prejudices seem to resurface in parts, accompanied by renewed ostracism
and discrimination against Sinti and Roma.

Münchens modernstes katholische Gotteshaus, die Herz-Jesu-Kirche, ist
ein Projekt des Architekturbüros Allmann Sattler Wappner. Der Sakralbau
beeindruckt durch seine klare und reduzierte Formensprache. Es gibt
keine Ornamente oder Malereien, die von der inneren Einkehr ablenken
könnten. Edle Materialien und das Licht, das durch die äußere Glashülle
hereinfällt und im Innenraum durch senkrecht stehende Lamellen aus hellem Holz gefiltert wird, schaffen eine warme und besinnliche Atmosphäre.
Das monumentale, zweiflüglige Eingangstor aus blauem Glas, das fast die
gesamte Kirchenfassade einnimmt, wird im Sommer zu Konzerten und
Festlichkeiten geöffnet.

Herz Jesu Kirche (Herz Jesu Church)

Munich’s most modern Catholic church, the “Herz Jesu Kirche” in the Neuhausen quarter of the city, impresses through its clear and reduced form.
There is no ornament or painting which could distract from visitors’ search
for introspection and peace. Valuable, noble materials and light – which
falls through the external glass cover of the building and is filtered into the
church’s interior through vertical, light wooden slats – create a warm and
contemplative atmosphere. The monumental, two-winged entrance gate
of blue glass, which commands practically the entire façade of the church,
is opened in summer for concerts and festivals.
HYPO-KUNSTHALLE

Die Kunsthalle der Hypo-Kulturstiftung (kurz: Kunsthalle München) ist die
wichtigste und bekannteste Einrichtung der Hypo-Kulturstiftung. Die Stiftung wurde 1983 von der damaligen Hypotheken- und Wechselbank aus
Anlass des 150jährigen Firmenjubiläums gegründet. Zwei Jahre später,
am 14. Juni 1985, öffnete die Kunsthalle ihre Türen für das Publikum mit
der Ausstellung „Deutsche Romantiker“.

von Medien bestimmten Alltag von größter Aktualität. Auch zeitgenössische Künstlerinnen thematisieren mit Fotografien und Filmen, mit Skulpturen und Installationen das heikle Verhältnis von Schein und Sein.
Ob Neuling oder treuer Anhänger: Wer zur Museumsnacht kommt, verbringt eine außergewöhnliche (Lange) Nacht – und das bezieht sich nicht
nur auf die Tageszeit. Das besondere Flair bewegt die Besucher dazu, die
Nacht zum Tag zu machen und Kunst und Kultur im anderen Licht zu genießen. Rund 90 Veranstaltungsorte sind mit von der Partie. Nahezu alle
großen Museen und Sammlungen, kleinere Häuser, Kunstvereine sowie
etliche Galerien und Kirchen bieten neben den laufenden Ausstellungen
zahlreiche Sonderaktionen wie Führungen, Konzerte, Installationen oder
Performances.

Staged – Spectacle and Role Playing in Contemporary Art
Opera, theatre and ballet have held a particular fascination for visual
artists since time immemorial, as they drew their inspiration from the
ornate theatre architecture, opulent stage settings, fantastic costumes
and rousing performances. With approximately 70 works from the Goetz
Collection, the exhibition illustrates how the interplay between art and
the stage has continued down to the present day.
Hang out with other night owls – whether you are a newcomer or a regular, everyone is welcome to experience this extraordinary event. The Long
Night of the Museums exposes visitors to art and culture at 90 inspiring
locations, including nearly all major museums and collections, smaller
houses, art associations, several galleries and churches. It features current exhibitions as well as special tours, installations and performances.

1. The guest registration agreement is considered binding as soon as the room has been booked and the booking confirmed, or in case of a late booking – as soon as the room has been

GRUR Golf Tournament 2016
Prior to the beginning of the Annual Meeting 2016 in Munich the 33rd
GRUR Golf Tournament will be held at Valley Golf Club,
on Wednesday, 12 October 2016
starting at 10.00.
The participants of the Annual Meeting and accompanying guests are
warmly welcome to attend.
The tournament (which is not handicap-effective) will be played according to the Stableford scoring system. Prerequisite for participation is a
handicap of at least -54. Please state your handicap upon registration.
There will be a prize for the best gross score and – depending on the
number of participants in-laws – prizes for the best net scores, in two
handicap divisions. No participant may win more than one prize.
The entry fee is € 40.00 per participant and is payable upon registration. The fee is forfeited in the event of non-appearance.
The green fee of € 60.00 per tournament participant is payable to the
club secretary prior to the start of the tournament.
Interested parties are requested to use the adjacent form to register
with Tobias Hopf, c/o DeutscheAnwaltAkademie, Littenstrasse 11,
10179 Berlin, Germany, by 29 August 2016 at the latest.
The golf course is located about 40 minutes by car from the city centre.
An initial overview of the golf course and directions to it can be obtained from the website www.golfvalley.de.

Die Alte Kongresshalle befindet sich auf der Theresienhöhe, auf dem
Gelände des Deutschen Museums/Verkehrsmuseums bzw. gegenüber

Anreise per Auto
Von der Autobahn A9 kommend bis Ausfahrt München-Schwabing.
Richtung Garmisch-P./Zentrum auf den Ring B2R fahren. Auf Landshuter Allee B2R/B304 über die Auffahrt Garmisch-P./Lindau. Abfahrt B2
nach Augsburg/Pasing/Laim/Zentrum. Links auf Landsberger Straße.
Rechts auf Bavariaring. Rechts auf Theresienhöhe.
Von der Autobahn A8 kommend auf die Autobahn A995 Richtung
Mittlerer Ring West fahren. Weiter auf Tegernseer Landstraße/E54,
Ausfahrt B11 Richtung Innsbruck. Rechts Richtung Zentrum. Weiter auf
Pfeuferstraße Rechts auf Herzog-Ernst-Platz. Rechts auf Radlkoferstraße/Theresienhöhe.
Parkmöglichkeiten
Wenn Sie mit dem Auto anreisen, finden Sie öffentliche Parkmöglichkeiten auf der Theresienwiese (Tagespreis € 8,00), im Parkhaus Park &
Ride Heimeranplatz in der Garmischerstraße 19 (Tagespreis € 1,50)
oder in der öffentlichen Tiefgarage in der Gollierstraße 4 (Tagespreis
€ 15,00). Stand der Preise: Frühjahr 2016; bitte beachten Sie ggf.
zwischenzeitlich erfolgte Preisänderungen.
Anreise mit dem Taxi (ab Hauptbahnhof)
Eine einfache Fahrt mit dem Taxi kostet ca. € 11,00 (ca. 2,5 km).
Anreise mit der Bahn
Mit der Bahn fahren Sie bis München Hauptbahnhof. Sie erreichen die
Alte Kongresshalle über die U-Bahn (Linien U4/5 Richtung Laimer
Platz/Westendstraße, Haltestelle Schwanthalerhöhe).
Anreise mit dem Flugzeug
Vom Flughafen München erreichen Sie die Alte Kongresshalle am
einfachsten mit der S-Bahn (Linie S8 Richtung Herrsching oder S1
Richtung Ostbahnhof bis Haltestelle Hauptbahnhof) und danach per
U-Bahn (Linien U4/5 Richtung Laimer Platz/Westendstraße, Haltestelle
Schwanthalerhöhe).

Arrival
The Old Congress Hall is situated on Theresienhöhe, on the grounds of
and in fact opposite the Deutsches Museum/Verkehrsmuseum.
Directions by car
Coming from the A9 motorway, take the Munich-Schwabing exit. Follow
the ring road B2R towards Garmisch-P./Centre. On Landshuter Allee
B2R/B304 drive towards Garmisch-P./Lindau. Take exit B2 Augsburg/
Pasing/Laim/Centre. Turn left on Landsberger Strasse. Turn right onto
Bavariaring. Turn right onto Theresienhöhe.
Coming from the A8 motorway, take the A995 motorway towards Mittlerer Ring West. Then take Tegernseer Landstrasse/E54, Exit B11 Innsbruck. Turn right towards the centre of town. Follow Pfeuferstrasse Turn

Parking
Persons arriving by car will find public parking on the Theresienwiese
(€ 8.00 per day), in the parking garage Park&Ride Heimeranplatz at
Garmischerstrasse 19 (€ 1.50 per day) or in the public parking garage
at Gollierstrasse 4 (€ 15.00 per day). Prices updated in spring 2016,
subsequent adjustments are possible.
Arrival by taxi
It is also possible to take a taxi from the main station (Hauptbahnhof),
which will cost approximately € 11.00 (approx. 2.5 km).
Arrival by train
Alight from the train at Munich main station (Hauptbahnhof). Take the
underground (U4 or U5 in the direction Laimer Platz/Westendstrasse) to
the stop Schwanthalerhöhe to reach the Old Congress Hall.
Arrival by aeroplane
The easiest route to the Old Congress Hall from Munich Airport is to
take the express train S-Bahn (S8 in the direction Herrsching or S1 in
the direction Ostbahnhof, alighting at Hauptbahnhof) and to change to
the underground (U4 or U5 in the direction Laimer Platz/Westendstrasse, alighting at the stop Schwanthalerhöhe).
