Entstanden vor rund 400 Millionen Jahren im devonischen Zeitalter. Das aus Granit bestehende Urgestein wurde durch Witterungseinflüsse abgetragen. Der so entstandene Tonschlamm verfestigte sich zu Tongestein, welches sich unter dem gewaltigen tektonischen Druck späterer Erdbewegungen faltete. Unter Tage abgebaut, gelangt das spaltbare Schiefergestein in großen Blöcken ans Tageslicht. Von kundiger Hand gespalten, entstehen die Uhrensteine - jeder mit einer einzigartigen Oberfläche. Jede Schieferuhr fällt daher in ihrer Struktur außergewöhnlich aus. Hier hat die Natur ihre Handschrift hinterlassen. Die Struktur und Feinstreifung sowie Einschlüsse und Adern zeugen von der Echtheit eines faszinierenden Naturproduktes. The Fascination Natural slate – the fascination of a unique rock.
