Upper Bavaria is a region with many facets. Mühldorf County
offers an unusual one – a personable Bavarian world that has lost
none of its original charm.
Mühldorf County is part of the Upper Bavaria region and borders
on the counties of Landshut and Rottal-Inn to the north, Ebersberg
and Erding to the west, Rosenheim and Traunstein to the south and
Altötting to the east.
The Alpine river Inn crosses the entire county from west to east in
wide, lazy loops. Quiet oxbow lakes, precipitous riverbanks and
extensive river terraces characterise the river on its progress past

Mühldorf County’s population increases nearly 2 percent each year,

12 percent increase in visitors in 2002 as compared to 0.2 percent for
Bavaria as a whole.
