Vorwor t
Vorliegende Dokumentation wurde für Fachpersonal entwickelt, das von ZF Friedrichshafen AG zu Wartungs- und Instandsetzungsarbeiten an ZF-Produkten geschult wurde.
Dokumentiert ist ein ZF-Serienprodukt nach Konstruktionsstand des Ausgabedatums.
Die vorliegende Software kann aufgrund technischer Weiterentwicklungen sowohl abweichende Arbeitsgänge als auch abweichende Einstell- und Prüfdaten erfordern. Deshalb empfehlen wir Ihnen, Ihr ZF-Produkt in die Hand von Meistern und Monteuren zu geben, deren praktische und theoretische Ausbildung in unserem Service-Training-Center ständig aktuell ergänzt wird.
Die von der ZF Friedrichshafen AG weltweit für Sie eingerichteten Servicestellen bieten Ihnen:
1. Kontinuierlich geschultes Personal
2. Vorgeschriebene Einrichtungen, z. B. Sonderwerkzeuge

Gewährleistung:
Die durch die ZF-Servicestationen ausgeführten Instandsetzungsarbeiten sind im Rahmen der jeweils gültigen Vertragsbedingungen geregelt. Schäden aufgrund unsachgemäß und unfachmännisch ausgeführter Arbeiten durch ZF-fremdes Personal
und eventuell daraus resultierende Folgekosten sind von dieser vertraglichen Haftung ausgeschlossen. Dies gilt auch bei Verzicht
auf Original-Ersatzteile.

Allgemeine Lizenzbedingungen für ZF-TESTMAN
Die ZF Friedrichshafen AG (im Folgenden “ZF“ oder der “Lizenzgeber“) überlässt dem Lizenznehmer die Software ZF-TESTMAN,
zu den nachfolgenden Bedingungen.
1. Lizenzgegenstand
Der Lizenzgegenstand, die Software ZF-TESTMAN (im Folgenden “Software“ oder “Lizenzgegenstand“), besteht aus dem Objektcode der Software und der folgenden Dokumentationen und Elemente, soweit diese für den Lizenznehmer freigeschalten sind:
ZF-TESTMAN; ZF-TESTMANpro; ZF-Datalogger; ZF-Diagram-Tool; ZF-CANTool; ZF-WebSync sowie Dokumentationen zur Fehleranalyse und Reparaturhinweise.
Der Umfang der für den Lizenznehmer freigeschalteten Elemente ergibt sich aus der von ZF bestätigten Bestellung des Lizenznehmers.
ZF behält sich das Recht vor den Umfang der Elemente oder Dokumentationen individuell, im Einzelnen oder Ganzen, festzulegen und jederzeit zu ändern.
2. Nutzungszweck
Der Nutzungszweck besteht in der Nutzung der Software zu Diagnosezwecken in einem von ZF bestimmten Leistungsumfang
(Autorisierung). Der für den Lizenznehmer maßgebliche Leistungsumfang richtet sich nach der von ZF bestätigten Bestellung
des Lizenznehmers. Die Auslieferung erfolgt grundsätzlich in einem Autorisierungslevel der gewöhnlich ausreichend ist um eine
Fahrzeugdiagnose entsprechend dem vereinbarten Leistungsumfang durchzuführen. ZF behält sich das ausschließliche Recht
vor erweiterte Autorisierung durchzuführen. Der Nutzungszweck umfasst ausschließlich das Recht, eine Diagnose der von ZF
gelieferten elektronischen Steuergeräte vorzunehmen, die diagnosefähig sind und für die eine Anwendung zur Verfügung steht.
Welche Steuergeräte diagnosefähig sind, kann bei jeder ZF Services Niederlassung angefragt werden.
3. Lizenzgebühr, Zahlungsbedingungen, Steuern und Laufzeit
(1) Die Lizenzgebühr für die Einräumung der zeitlich begrenzten Lizenz ist innerhalb von 30 Tagen nach Zugang der Rechnung
an den Lizenznehmer zu zahlen. Wird die Rechnung nicht pünktlich und in voller Höhe beglichen, behält sich ZF vor die
Software jederzeit und ohne Vorankündigung zu sperren und den Lizenzvertrag fristlos zu kündigen.

(2) Die Lizenzgebühr berechnet sich ausschließlich aller Zölle, Transportversicherungen, Verpackung und Transportkosten. Der
Lizenznehmer ist zur Zahlung oder Erstattung aller Zölle, Transportversicherungen, Verpackungen und Transportkosten verpflichtet.
(3) Steuern
3.1 Umsatzsteuer und ähnliche Steuern
Sämtliche in diesem Vertrag vereinbarten Gebühren sind Nettobeträge ohne Umsatzsteuer oder ähnliche Steuern.
3.2 Quellensteuern
Soweit aufgrund der Gebühren Quellensteuern entstehen, werden diese von dem Vertragspartner getragen, der der Steuerpflicht unterliegt. Soweit der andere Vertragspartner, der nicht der Steuerpflicht unterliegt, diese Quellensteuern aufgrund
gesetzlicher Vorschriften an die zuständige Steuerbehörde abführen muss, behält er die Quellensteuer von der Gebühr ein.
Alternativ erstattet der steuerpflichtige Vertragspartner dem anderen Vertragspartner die entsprechende Steuer. Die Vertragspartner vereinbaren vor jeglicher Quellensteuerzahlung oder -anmeldung gegenseitig Rücksprache zu halten.
Zur Vermeidung oder Reduzierung eines Quellensteuerabzuges, soll der eine Vertragspartner dem anderen Vertragspartner
eine von der entsprechend zuständigen Steuerbehörde ausgestellte Freistellungsbescheinigung vorlegen.
Der andere Vertragspartner stellt dem steuerpflichtigen Vertragspartner sämtliche Unterlagen zur Verfügung, die dieser für
das Freistellungs- oder Erstattungsverfahren, für eine Steueranmeldung usw. benötigt.
3.3 Die Vertragspartner vereinbaren, sich gegenseitig sämtliche notwendigen Unterlagen und Informationen zur Verfügung zu
stellen, die aufgrund Gesetzes oder sonstiger Regelungen für aktuelle oder künftige Ansprüche benötigt werden.
(4) Die Lizenz ist zunächst für einen Zeitraum von 365 bzw. 366 Tagen ab dem Installationszeitpunkt gültig und wird nach Ablauf
dieses Zeitraums automatisch gesperrt, soweit der Lizenznehmer nicht rechtzeitig mindestens einen Tag vor Ablauf eine
Anschlusslizenz zum in diesem Zeitpunkt gültigen Preis, gemäß der aktuellen Preisliste der ZF, erwirbt und online freischaltet.
Die aktuelle Preisliste kann bei jeder ZF Services Niederlassung angefordert werden.
(5) Erwirbt der Lizenznehmer die Lizenz im Folgejahr für einen Folgezeitraum von weiteren 365 bzw. 366 Tagen, reduziert sich
dieser Nutzungszeitraum um die seit letzter Sperrung verstrichenen Tage, ohne dass dafür ein Kostenausgleich seitens ZF
stattfindet.

4. Nutzungsrechte
(1) ZF räumt dem Lizenznehmer gegen Zahlung der Lizenzgebühren unter den im folgenden genannten Bedingungen und Einschränkungen das zeitlich begrenzte, nicht ausschließliche, nicht übertragbare Recht ein, die Software für den Betrieb des
Lizenznehmers weltweit auf einer Hardware zu nutzen (Einplatzlizenz).
(2) a) Das Recht zur Nutzung ist beschränkt auf den oben genannten Nutzungszweck. Der Lizenznehmer ist insbesondere nicht
berechtigt, die Software oder Teile hiervon mehrfach zu installieren, zu vermieten, zu verleasen, unterzulizenzieren, zu
vertreiben oder zu ändern.
b) Das Recht zur Vervielfältigung des Lizenzgegenstands ist beschränkt auf die Installation des Lizenzgegenstands auf einem
im unmittelbaren Besitz des Lizenznehmers stehenden Computersystem zur Erfüllung des Nutzungszwecks und auf eine
Vervielfältigung, die notwendig ist für das Laden, Anzeigen, Ablaufen, Übertragen und Speichern des Lizenzgegenstands,
sowie auf das Recht zur Anfertigung einer Sicherungskopie vom Lizenzgegenstand durch eine gemäß § 69 d Abs. 2 UrhG
hierzu berechtigte Person.
c) Das Recht zur Bearbeitung des Lizenzgegenstands ist beschränkt auf den Erhalt oder die Wiederherstellung der vereinbarten Funktionalität des Lizenzgegenstands.
d) Das Recht zur Dekompilierung des Lizenzgegenstands wird nur unter der Bedingung des § 69 e Abs. 1 Nrn. 1 bis 3 UrhG
und im Rahmen des § 69 e Abs. 2 Nrn. 1 bis 3 UrhG gewährt
(3) Weitergehende Nutzungs- und Verwertungsrechte am Lizenzgegenstand werden dem Lizenznehmer nicht eingeräumt.
ZF behält sich alle dem Lizenznehmer nicht ausdrücklich eingeräumten Rechte vor.
(4) Auf Anforderung und soweit ein berechtigtes Interesse daran besteht, wird der Lizenznehmer dem Lizenzgeber oder einem
von ihm beauftragten Dritten die Prüfung gestatten, ob sich die Nutzung des Lizenzgegenstands im Rahmen der hierin
gewährten Rechte hält; der Lizenznehmer wird den Lizenzgeber bei der Durchführung einer solchen Prüfung nach besten
Kräften unterstützen
(5) ZF ist bei Verletzung des Vertrags durch den Lizenznehmer berechtigt, die vertraglich eingeräumten Nutzungsrechte jederzeit
zu widerrufen. Der Lizenznehmer ist im Fall des Widerrufs verpflichtet, jegliche Nutzung der lizenzierten Software zu unterlassen und alle Vervielfältigungsstücke der Software auf Kosten des Lizenznehmers an ZF zurückzugeben und sämtliche Soft8

ware Elemente und Komponenten auf seinen Systemen zu löschen. Der Lizenznehmer wird dem Lizenzgeber für diesen Fall
auf Anforderung schriftlich bestätigen, dass er keine Kopien der Software zurückbehalten hat. Weitere Rechte bleiben vorbehalten.
(6) Der Lizenznehmer haftet der ZF unbeschränkt, für alle der ZF aus der nicht vertragskonformen Nutzung entstehenden Schäden nach den gesetzlichen Vorschriften. ZF ist im Fall der nicht vertragskonformen Nutzung berechtigt, jederzeit, ohne Vorankündigung und ohne Ausgleich für den Verlust der Nutzungsmöglichkeit den Zugang des Lizenznehmers zur Software zu
sperren und diese Lizenzvereinbarung fristlos zu kündigen.
5. Installation des Lizenzgegenstandes
(1) Der Lizenzgeber stellt nach seiner freien Wahl dem Lizenznehmer zur Ausübung der hierin gewährten Nutzungsrechte die
Software in maschinenlesbarer Form entweder auf einem zu dem Zeitpunkt üblichen Datenträger oder per Datenfernübertragung zur Verfügung. Die Parteien vereinbaren als Erfüllungsort für die Übergabe des Lizenzgegenstands den Sitz des Lizenzgebers. Der Lizenznehmer trägt sämtliche Kosten und Risiken, die mit der Übergabe verbunden sind. Mit der Übergabe des
Lizenzgegenstands geht die Transportgefahr (insbesondere die Gefahr des zufälligen Untergangs oder Zerstörung der Kopien
des Lizenzgegenstands) auf den Lizenznehmer über.
(2) Der Lizenznehmer ist dafür verantwortlich, die Systemumgebung entsprechend der Anforderungen der Software bereitzustellen.
(3) Der Lizenzgegenstand wird vom Lizenznehmer installiert. Der Lizenznehmer hat auf Anfrage des Lizenzgebers den Lizenzgeber
schriftlich über die jeweiligen Installationsorte des Lizenzgegenstands zu informieren. Dies gilt ebenso für jegliche spätere
Änderung der Installationsorte.
6. Instandhaltung, Haftung für Sach- und Rechtsmängel
(1) Die von ZF überlassene Software entspricht im Wesentlichen der Produktbeschreibung. Produktbeschreibungen gelten ohne
gesonderte schriftliche Vereinbarung nicht als Garantie oder Zusicherung. Bei Update-, Upgrade- und neuen Versionslieferungen sind die Mängelansprüche auf die Neuerungen der Update-, Upgrade- oder neuen Versionslieferung gegenüber dem
bisherigen Versionsstand beschränkt.
Der Lizenzgeber leistet Gewähr dafür, dass sich die Software in einem zum vertragsgemäßen Gebrauch geeigneten Zustand

befindet und dass einer vertragsgemäßen Nutzung der Software keine Rechte Dritter entgegenstehen, nach den gesetzlichen
Vorschriften, soweit in diesem Vertrag nicht etwas abweichendes geregelt ist.
Keine Gewähr wird insbesondere in folgenden Fällen übernommen: Ungeeignete oder unsachgemäße Nutzung, fehlerhafte
Installation oder Verwendung nicht geeigneter Betriebssysteme – sofern sie nicht von ZF zu verantworten sind. Bessert der
Lizenznehmer oder ein Dritter unsachgemäß nach, besteht keine Haftung von ZF für die daraus entstehenden Folgen. Gleiches gilt für diesen Bedingungen widersprechende Nutzung oder ohne Zustimmung von ZF vorgenommene Änderungen des
Lizenzgegenstandes.
(2) Soweit Mängel i.S.v. § 6 (1) bestehen wird der Lizenzgeber die Mängel nach seiner Wahl durch Fehlerbeseitigung oder
Lieferung eines fehlerbereinigten Programmstandes oder einer fehlerbereinigten Dokumentation beheben. Von den durch
die Nacherfüllung entstehenden unmittelbaren Kosten trägt ZF, soweit sich die Beanstandung als berechtigt herausstellt,
ausschließlich die Kosten für die Ersatzsoftware einschließlich des Versandes.
Weitere Ansprüche, insbesondere Ansprüche auf Mietminderung gemäß § 536 BGB, und Ansprüche auf Schadens- und
Aufwendungsersatz gemäß § 536a BGB, sind ausgeschlossen.
(3) Voraussetzung für die Sachmängelgewährleistung durch ZF ist, dass der Lizenznehmer Fehler innerhalb angemessener Frist
schriftlich oder per Mail unter genauer Beschreibung des Fehlers meldet und bei der Mängelbeseitigung nach besten Kräften
mitwirkt. Mängel sind durch eine nachvollziehbare Schilderung der Fehlersymptome, soweit möglich, nachgewiesen durch
schriftliche Aufzeichnungen, hard copies oder sonstige die Mängel veranschaulichende Unterlagen schriftlich zu rügen. Die
Mängelrüge soll die Reproduktion des Fehlers ermöglichen. Gesetzliche Untersuchungs- und Rügepflichten des Lizenznehmers bleiben unberührt
(4) ZF wird den Lizenznehmer auch dann bei der Fehlersuche unterstützen, wenn nicht feststeht, dass es sich um Fehler der
lizenzierten Software oder der sonstigen Lieferungen und Leistungen von ZF handelt. Wenn sich bei der Fehlersuche nicht
nachweislich herausstellt, dass die aufgetretenen Fehler auf der lizenzierten Software oder sonstigen Lieferungen und Leistungen von ZF beruhen, ist ZF berechtigt dem Lizenznehmer den entstandenen Aufwand in Rechnung zu stellen.
(5) Führt die Benutzung des Lizenzgegenstandes zur Verletzung von im Zeitpunkt Gebrauchsüberlassung bestehenden gewerblichen Schutzrechten oder Urheberrechten Dritter in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, wird ZF auf seine Kosten dem Lizenznehmer das Recht zum weiteren Gebrauch verschaffen oder den Lizenzgegenstand in für den Lizenznehmer zumutbarer Weise
derart modifizieren, dass die Schutzrechtsverletzung nicht mehr besteht. Ist dies zu wirtschaftlich angemessenen Bedingun10

gen oder in angemessener Frist nicht möglich, ist ZF zur Kündigung des Vertrags berechtigt. Unter den genannten Voraussetzungen steht auch dem Lizenznehmer ein Recht zur Kündigung des Vertrags zu. Darüber hinaus wird ZF den Lizenznehmer
von unbestrittenen oder rechtskräftig festgestellten Ansprüchen der betreffenden Schutzrechtsinhaber freistellen. Die in
diesem Absatz genannten Verpflichtungen von ZF sind vorbehaltlich der Regelungen in Ziff. 6 für den Fall der Schutz- oder
Urheberrechtsverletzung abschließend. Sie bestehen nur, wenn
a) der Lizenznehmer ZF unverzüglich von geltend gemachten Schutz- oder Urheberrechtsverletzung unterrichtet,
b) der Lizenznehmer ZF in angemessenem Umfang bei der Abwehr der geltend gemachten Ansprüche unterstützt
c) ZF alle Abwehrmaßnahmen einschließlich außergerichtlicher Regelungen vorbehalten bleiben,
d) der Rechtsmangel nicht auf einer Anweisung des Lizenznehmers beruht und
e) die Rechtsverletzung nicht dadurch verursacht wurde, dass der Lizenznehmer den Lizenzgegenstand eigenmächtig geändert oder in einer nicht vertragsgemäßen Weise genutzt hat.
(6) Die Verjährungsfrist für Sach- und Rechtsmängel beträgt – außer im Fall von Vorsatz – ein Jahr, soweit nicht gesetzlich zwingend eine längere Gewährleistungsfrist gilt.
7. Urheberrechte und Geheimhaltung
(1) Der Lizenznehmer erkennt an, dass die im Lizenzgegenstand enthaltenen Ideen sowie Informationen, die ZF dem Lizenznehmer im Zusammenhang mit dem Lizenzgegenstand zur Verfügung stellt, vertrauliche und geschützte Informationen und
Geschäftsgeheimnisse von ZF sind und dass ZF diese Informationen und Geschäftsgeheimnisse dem Lizenznehmer vertraulich bereitstellt.
(2) Der Lizenznehmer wird die Verwendung und den Zugriff auf den Lizenzgegenstand auf die Benutzer beschränken. Der Lizenznehmer wird alle vertretbaren Schritte ergreifen, um den Lizenzgegenstand zu schützen und zu gewährleisten, dass keine zum
Zugang zum Lizenzgegenstand befugten Personen eine Verletzung dieser Vereinbarung vornehmen können.
(3) Alle Rechte (insbesondere Urheberrechte, Patente, Markenrechte, Geschäftsgeheimnisse sowie sonstige Rechte) bezüglich
der lizenzierten Software (einschließlich jeglicher Fehlerberichtigung, Updates, Änderungen, Modifikationen, Bearbeitungen,

Erweiterungen oder Kopien) stehen in vollem gesetzlich zulässigem Umfang im Verhältnis der Vertragsparteien ausschließlich
ZF zu.
8. Allgemeine Haftung
(1) Für Schäden, die nicht am Lizenzgegenstand selbst entstanden sind, haftet ZF, aus welchen Rechtsgründen auch immer, nur
a) bei Vorsatz
b) bei grober Fahrlässigkeit des Inhabers/der Organe oder leitender Angestellter
c) bei fahrlässiger oder vorsätzlicher Verletzung von Leben, Körper, Gesundheit,
d) bei Mängeln, die ZF arglistig verschwiegen oder deren Abwesenheit ZF garantiert hat,
e) bei Mängeln des Lizenzgegenstands, soweit nach Produkthaftungsgesetz für Personen- oder Sachschäden an privat
genutzten Gegenständen gehaftet wird. Bei schuldhafter Verletzung wesentlicher Vertragspflichten haftet ZF auch bei
grober Fahrlässigkeit nicht leitender Angestellter und bei leichter Fahrlässigkeit, in letzterem Fall begrenzt auf den vertragstypischen, vernünftigerweise vorhersehbaren Schaden.
(2) Für Datenverluste haftet ZF (außer bei vorsätzlichem Handeln) nur, wenn der Lizenznehmer in regelmäßigen Abständen
Systemprüfungen und Datensicherungen (mindestens einmal täglich) durchgeführt hat und nur dann, wenn die Daten aus in
maschinenlesbarer Form bereitgehaltenen Datenbeständen mit vertretbarem Aufwand reproduzierbar sind. Der Lizenzgeber
haftet in diesem Fall jedoch für den Verlust von Daten nur bis zu dem Betrag, der bei ordnungsgemäßer und regelmäßiger
Sicherung der Daten zu deren Wiederherstellung angefallen wäre.
(3) Weitere Ansprüche sind ausgeschlossen.
9. Abschließende Bestimmungen
(1) Änderungen und Ergänzungen dieser Lizenzbedingungen bedürfen der Schriftform. Dies gilt auch für Änderungen und Ergänzungen dieser Schriftformvereinbarung.
(2) Auf alle Rechtsbeziehungen zwischen ZF und dem Lizenznehmer findet das Recht der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, unter

Ausschluss der einschlägigen Verweisungsregeln des deutschen internationalen Privatrechts, Anwendung. Die Anwendung
des Übereinkommens der Vereinten Nationen über Verträge über den internationalen Warenkauf (CISG) ist ausgeschlossen.
(3) Erfüllungsort und Gerichtsstand ist Friedrichshafen/Deutschland vorausgesetzt, dass der Lizenznehmer ein Kaufmann im Sinne
des deutschen Handelsgesetzbuchs ist oder der Lizenznehmer bei Klageerhebung keinen Sitz in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland hat.
(4) Soweit dieser Vertrag neben der deutschen Fassung in deutscher Sprache auch in einer anderen Fassung in einer anderen
Sprache ausgefertigt wird, geht im Falle von Abweichungen die deutsche Fassung vor.
(5) Sollte eine Bestimmung dieses Vertrages ganz oder teilweise unwirksam oder undurchführbar sein oder werden, so wird
dadurch die Gültigkeit der übrigen Bestimmungen dieses Vertrages nicht berührt. Das Gleiche gilt, wenn und soweit sich in
diesem Vertrag eine Lücke herausstellen sollte. Anstelle der unwirksamen oder undurchführbaren Bestimmung oder zur
Ausfüllung der Lücke soll eine angemessene Regelung gelten, die, soweit rechtlich möglich, dem am nächsten kommt oder
entspricht, was die Vertragsparteien wirtschaftlich gewollt haben oder nach dem Sinn und Zweck dieses Vertrages gewollt
hätten, sofern sie diesen Punkt bedacht hätten. Dies gilt auch dann, wenn die Unwirksamkeit einer Bestimmung etwa auf
einem in diesem Vertrag vorgesehenen Umfang der Leistung oder Zeit (Frist oder Termin) beruht; in solchen Fällen tritt ein
dem Gewollten wirtschaftlich möglichst nahe kommendes rechtlich zulässiges Maß der Leistung oder Zeit (Frist oder Termin)
an die Stelle des Vereinbarten.

Beschreibung
Installation der ZF-TESTMAN-Software
Die ZF-TESTMAN-Software befindet sich auf der mitgelieferten DVD und kann in wenigen Schritten installiert werden.
Die Installation der ZF-TESTMAN-Programmfeatures wird durch den Installationsassistenten „InstallShield Wizard“ unterstützt.
2.1.1 Voraussetzung

Für die Installation der ZF-TESTMAN-Software benötigen Sie ausreichende Administratorrechte sowie eine aktive Internetverbindung.
Für das gewählte Installationsverzeichnis benötigen Sie dauerhafte Schreibrechte und Rechte zum Ausführen von Programmen
(siehe Kapitel 2.1.3, Installation vorbereiten).
2.1.2 Installationsassistenten „InstallShield Wizard“ vorbereiten
Starten Sie die SETUP.exe auf der DVD.
Wählen Sie die Sprache für die Installation aus und bestätigen
Sie mit „OK“.
Aus programmtechnischen Gründen werden die ersten
Schritte in englischer Sprache angezeigt.

werden auf den Rechner entpackt und damit die weitere
Installation vorbereitet.
Des Weiteren wird evtl. noch nicht auf dem Rechner vorhandene Software, die für ZF-TESTMAN Voraussetzung ist, installiert (z. B. Microsoft NET Framework, WiBu CodeMeter
Runtime, DPA-Treiber). Dies kann einige Minuten dauern.

Zielordner festlegen
Nach der Aufforderung zum Akzeptieren der allgemeinen ZF-TESTMAN-Lizenzbedingungen muss der Zielordner bestimmt werden, in den die Installation der
ZF-TESTMAN-Software erfolgen soll.
Beachten Sie dabei folgende Punkte:
∙ ZF-interne Benutzer sollten das vorgegebene Verzeichnis für die Installation der
ZF-TESTMAN-Software wählen.
∙ Externe Benutzer müssen sicherstellen, dass Sie dauerhaft Schreibrechte und
Rechte zum Ausführen von Programmen auf dem gewählten Zielordner haben
(siehe Kapitel 2.1.1, Voraussetzungen).

Der festgelegte Zielordner wird angelegt bzw. eine evtl. dort bereits vorhandene alte ZF-TESTMAN-Version wird entfernt.
Im Zielordner werden die benötigten Unterverzeichnisse und Dateien angelegt,
z. B. MT1, WebSync, GDS3000, Datalogger, Diagram-Explorer und Register.
Bei bereits vorhandenen ZF-TESTMAN-Installationen wird das Verzeichnis
„GDS3000“ (üblicherweise unter C:\GDS3000) in den gewählten Zielordner
verschoben, da sich im Verzeichnis „GDS3000“ durch den Anwender angelegte
Dateien befinden können.
Zusätzlich werden die notwendigen Registrierungen auf dem Rechner vorgenommen und die dazugehörenden Verknüpfungen auf dem Desktop sowie im
Startmenü erstellt.
Um die Installation vollständig abzuschließen und um sicherzustellen, dass der
neueste Client installiert ist, muss eine Synchronisation mit WebSync durchgeführt werden (siehe Kapitel 2.3, Beschreibung der Anwendung ZF-WebSync).

Installation abschließen
Nach der Installation wird durch Klicken auf die Schaltfläche „Fertigstellen“ die Installation abgeschlossen. Die neu installierte
ZF-TESTMAN-Software ist einsatzbereit.
Auf dem Desktop werden Verknüpfungen zu folgenden ZF-TESTMAN-Anwendungen angezeigt:

und ggf. an den ZF-TESTMAN-Support (E-Mail: [email protected]) gesendet werden.

Lizenzierung und Registrierung
Der ZF-TESTMAN-Aktivierungsassistent bietet umfassende Hilfe beim Aktivieren der ZF-TESTMAN-Softwarelizenz an.
Voraussetzung für die Lizenzverwaltung der ZF-TESTMAN-Software ist eine aktive Internetverbindung und ausreichende
Administratorrechte während der Lizenzaktivierung. Bei der Aktivierung werden Sie aufgefordert sich zu registrieren, um ein
Benutzerkonto zur Lizenzverwaltung zu erhalten. Im Benutzerkonto können Sie Ihre Benutzerdaten sowie Ihre Lizenzen verwalten.
Gleichzeitig bietet das Lizenzierungsverfahren die notwendige Sicherheit hinsichtlich der Lizenzverwaltung an. Der Benutzer erhält
eine individuelle Sicht auf den ZF-TESTMAN-Lizenz- und Softwareumfang und kann die Lizenz selbstständig verwalten. Durch die
automatisierte Erstellung der Bestellnummer für die Verlängerung der Lizenzlaufzeit wird der Bestellvorgang optimiert.

möchten, ansonsten könnte eine andere Lizenz verlängert werden!
‒ Führen Sie vor der Registrierung eine Synchronisation über das Online-Updatetool ZF-WebSync durch.
Starten Sie ZF-TESTMAN und wählen Sie aus dem Menü „Hilfe“ den Menüpunkt „Nutzerkonto Lizenzverwaltung ...“ aus.

Beschreibung der Anwendung ZF-WebSync
ZF-WebSync ist ein Online-Updatetool mit dem Sie jederzeit ihre Diagnosesoftware ZF-TESTMAN aktualisieren können.
Die notwendige Anmeldekonfiguration ist bereits hinterlegt, so dass eine Synchronisation der Daten direkt nach der erfolgreichen
Installation bzw. Registrierung von ZF-TESTMAN erfolgen kann.
Nach dem Starten des Programms folgen Sie bitte den Anweisungen der Software.
∙ Zur Benutzung ist ein Breitband-Internetanschluss notwendig.
∙ Wir empfehlen mindestens einmal pro Monat eine Synchronisation durchzuführen.
∙ Entsprechend Ihrer firmeneigenen IT-Richtlinie benötigen Sie evtl. Administrationsrechte zum Ausführen von
ZF-WebSync.
Weitere Information erhalten Sie im TESTMAN-Hauptmenü
unter dem Menüpunkt „Hilfe“ → „Allgemeine Hilfe“ oder im

2.4.4 DPA05: Programmierwerkzeug anschließen
1. COM-Schnittstelle und DPA05-Adapter mit CAN-Diagnosekabel oder RS232-Kabel verbinden.

2.4.7 Kontrolle DPA, PC-Treiber, COM-, USB- und Bluetooth-Schnittstelle
USB-Treiber für DPA-Gerät installieren
Der jeweilige Treiber für DPA05 und DPA06 wird automatisch mit der ZF-TESTMAN-Installation eingerichtet.
Bei der erstmaligen Inbetriebnahme des DPA über den USB-Anschluss wird von Windows auf eine neue Hardware hingewiesen
und automatisch installiert (Voraussetzung: Verbindung PC und DPA über USB-Kabel, DPA mit 12/24-V-Betriebsspannung versorgt). Bei neueren Betriebssystemen wie z. B. Windows 7, kann anschließend der DPA betrieben werden.
Bei älteren Systemen, wie z. B. Windows XP öffnet automatisch der Installationsassistent „InstallShield Wizard“. Folgen Sie dabei
den Anweisungen der Software und wählen dabei die Option „automatisch suchen und installieren“ aus. Anschließend kann das
DPA betrieben werden. Sollte der Installationsassistent „InstallShield Wizard“ abgebrochen werden, so ist die Installation zu
einem späteren Zeitpunkt nur über den Gerätemanager möglich (Start/Einstellungen/Systemsteuerung/System/Hardware/Hardware-Assistent).
Mit Klick auf die Schaltfläche „Connect“ (10, siehe Kapitel 2.4.6) kann getestet werden, ob der Treiber korrekt installiert wurde.
Ist dies der Fall, erscheint unter DPA (2, siehe Kapitel 2.4.6) die aktuelle Firmware-Version des verbundenen DPA-Gerätes. Wenn
eine neue Firmware vorliegt (wird über ZF-WebSync aktualisiert) kann diese über die Schaltfläche „Update DPA“ (12, siehe
Kapitel 2.4.6) aktualisiert werden. Ist auf dem DPA-Gerät eine veraltete Firmware vorhanden, wird bei dem Kommunikationsaufbau darauf hingewiesen. Zusätzlich kann die Hardware des DPA05 nach Bedarf umprogrammiert werden.
DPA05-Hardware-Image umprogrammieren:
1. Verbinden Sie den DPA05 mit der COM-Schnittstelle Ihres Rechners.
2. Versorgen Sie den DPA05 mit 12/24-V-Betriebsspannung.
3. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Load DPA“.

1. Verbinden Sie den DPA mit der USB-Schnittstelle Ihres Rechners.
2. Versorgen Sie den DPA mit 12/24-V-Betriebsspannung.
3. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Update DPA“.
Hinweise zur Nutzung der Bluetooth-Verbindung (nur DPA06)
Mit dem DPA06 kann auch kabellos per Bluetooth kommuniziert werden. Dazu muss auf dem PC ein Bluetooth-Gerät vorhanden
und installiert sein. Verwenden Sie den mitgelieferten USB-Bluetooth-Adapter. Die Treiber werden automatisch bei der Installation
von ZF-TESTMAN eingerichtet und nach Anstecken des Adapters am USB-Port des PC installiert.
Ist die Bluetooth-Hardware auf dem PC richtig installiert und konfiguriert, sowie der Bluetooth-Unterstützungsdienst gestartet,
kann die Verbindung zum DPA06 per Bluetooth aufgenommen werden. Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich das DPA06 in Funkreichweite
befindet (Hinweise beachten).
Bluetooth verbinden:
1. Verbindungsart Bluetooth (4, siehe Kapitel 2.4.6) wählen.
2. DPA06 mit 12/24-V-Betriebsspannung versorgen.
3. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche „refresh“ (7, siehe Kapitel 2.4.6). Evtl. Vorgang wiederholen bis das gewünschte Gerät in der
Auswahlliste „Interface“ (6, siehe Kapitel 2.4.6) erscheint.
4. Wählen Sie das entsprechende DPA06 aus (Identifizierung über SNR-Nummer, siehe Typenschild auf der Rückseite des
DPA06)
5. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche „Connect“ (10, siehe Kapitel 2.4.6) um die Verbindung zur DPA06 aufzubauen.
6. Die Verbindung ist erfolgreich aufgebaut, wenn unter „DPA“ (2, siehe Kapitel 2.4.6) die Firmware-Version korrekt angezeigt
wird.

Beschreibung
Durch Funkstörungen, schlechte Funkbedingungen, Abdeckungen usw. kann die Stabilität der Bluetoothverbindung beeinträchtigt werden. Daher kann es bei Langzeitmessungen (z. B. durch Datalogger oder Monitoring) zu Abbrüchen und
Datenverlust kommen.
 Nutzen Sie zum Flashen von Getriebesteuergeräten die USB-Verbindung!
 Stellen sie möglichst günstige Funkbedingungen her:
‒ PC und DPA06 in Sichtweite.
‒ Geringe Entfernung zwischen PC und DPA06.
‒ Vermeiden Sie Störquellen wie z. B. andere Bluetooth-, WLAN- oder DECT-Geräte, alle Geräte die im Frequenzband
2,4 GHz oder 5 GHz arbeiten, Hochspannungsleitungen, defekte strom-/signalführende Kabel, metallische Barrieren,
externe Monitore bzw. LCD-Displays usw.
‒ Vermeiden Sie jegliche Art von Abdeckungen des DPA06-Gerätes, sowie des Bluetooth-Adapters am PC.
‒ Vermeiden Sie die gleichzeitige Nutzung mehrerer DPA06-Geräte über Bluetooth in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Sobald das DPA06 mit Spannung versorgt wird und der Bluetooth-Adapter am DPA-Gerät gesteckt ist, kann es bei anderen
Geräten, die im Frequenzband 2,4 GHz oder 5 GHz arbeiten, zu Störungen kommen.
 Schalten Sie alle Geräte die im Frequenzband 2,4 GHz oder 5 GHz arbeiten aus oder stellen Sie diese außer Reichweite auf.

repairwork on ZF products.
This manual deals with a ZF volume production product in accordance with the state of development on the date of issue.
As a result of technical further developments, the present software may require other work steps as well as different settings and
test data. We therefore recommend that work done on your ZF product is carried out only by skilled mechanics and fitters who
have had their practical and theoretical knowledge updated on a regular basis at our Service Training Center.

General Terms and Conditions for the License of ZF-TESTMAN
ZF Friedrichshafen AG (hereinafter referred to as "ZF" or "Licensor") cedes to the Licensee the ZF-TESTMAN software, subject to
the following conditions.
1. Object of License
The object of the license, the ZF-TESTMAN software (hereinafter referred to as "Software" or "Object of License"), consists of
the Software object code and the following documentation and elements, insofar as these are enabled for the Licensee:
ZF-TESTMAN; ZF-TESTMANpro; ZF-Datalogger; ZF-Diagram-Tool; ZF-CANTool; ZF-WebSync as well as documentation
concerning error analysis and repair instructions.
The scope of the elements enabled for the Licensee is determined by the order placed by the Licensee and confirmed by ZF.
ZF reserves the right to individually, in part or as a whole determine and amend at any time the scope of the elements or documentation.
2. Purpose of Use
The purpose of use consists of usage of the Software for diagnostic purposes within a scope of services specified by ZF (authorization). The scope of services relevant for the Licensee is determined by the order placed by the Licensee and confirmed by ZF.
Delivery occurs principally on an authorization level that is ordinarily sufficient to perform vehicle diagnosis corresponding to the
agreed scope of services.ZF reserves the exclusive right to undertake extended authorization. The purpose of use exclusively
comprises the right to perform diagnosis on electronic control units delivered by ZF, which are diagnosable and for which an
application is available. Which control units are diagnosable can be inquired at any ZF Services subsidiary.
3. License Fee, Terms of Payment, Taxes, and Term
(1) The License fee for granting the temporary license is payable within 30 days after receipt of the invoice at the Licensee. If the
invoice is not settled punctually and in full, ZF reserves the right to suspend access to the Software at any time and without
advance notice, and to terminate the license contract without prior notice.

(2) The License fee is calculated exclusive of all customs duties, transportation insurance, packaging, and shipment costs.
The Licensee is obliged to pay or reimburse all customs duties, transportation insurance, packaging, and shipment costs.
(3) Taxes
3.1 Value Added Tax and similar taxes.
All fees agreed in this contract are amounts net of sales tax or similar taxes.
3.2 Withholding tax.
If withholding tax is incurred as a result of the fees, this will be borne by the contracting party subject to tax liability. If the
other contracting party not subject to tax liability is legally required to pay this withholding tax to the responsible tax authority,
said party retains the withholding tax from the fee. Alternatively, the contracting party subject to tax liability reimburses the
relevant tax to the other contracting party. The contracting parties agree to consult each other before any payment or filing
of withholding tax.
To avoid or reduce the withholding tax, one contracting party should submit to the other contracting party a certificate of
exemption issued by the corresponding responsible tax authority.
The other contracting party will make available to the contracting party subject to tax liability all documents that are required
by the party for exemption or reimbursement proceedings, for a tax filing, etc..
3.3 The contracting parties agree to make available to each other all documents and information required for current or future
claims as a result of legal or other provisions.
(4) The license is initially valid for a period of 365 or 366 days as of the moment of installation and is automatically suspended
after termination of this time period, provided that the Licensee has not acquired and enabled online a subsequent license in
due time, i.e. at least one day before termination, at the price effective at that time, compliant with the current ZF price list.
The current price list can be requested at any ZF Services subsidiary.
(5) If the Licensee acquires the license in the year following for a subsequent time period of additional 365 or 366 days, the
utilization period is reduced by the number of days passed since the last suspension, without cost equalization for this on
the part of ZF.

4. Rights of Use
(1) ZF grants the Licensee the temporary, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Software for the Licensee's operations
worldwide on one hardware (single-user license), compliant with the conditions and restrictions specified as follows and in
exchange for the payment of license fees.
(2) a) The right of use is limited to the Purpose of Use specified above. In particular, the Licensee is not authorized to repeatedly
install, rent, lease, sublicense, distribute, or modify the Software or parts thereof.
b) The right to reproduce the Object of License is limited to the installation of the Object of License onto a computer system
in the direct possession of the Licensee in order to fulfill the Purpose of Use and to the reproduction required for loading,
displaying, running, transmitting and saving the Object of License, as well as to the right to produce a backup copy of the
Object of License by a person authorized to do so according to § 69 d Para. 2 UrhG (Urhebergesetz)[German Copyright
Act].
c) The right to adapt/edit the Object of License is limited to the preservation or recovery of the agreed functionality of the
Object of License.
d) The right to decompiling of the Object of License is granted only under the condition of § 69 e Para. 1 No. 1 to 3 UrhG and
within the framework of § 69 e Para. 2 No. 1 to 3 UrhG.
(3) Additional rights of use and exploitation concerning the Object of License are not granted to Licensee.
ZF reserves all rights not expressly granted to the Licensee.
(4) Upon request and insofar as a legitimate interest exists, the Licensee will allow the Licensor or a third party appointed by it
to examine whether usage of the Object of License is maintained within the framework of the rights conferred herein; the
Licensee will support the Licensor in the execution of such examination to the best of its abilities.
(5) ZF is authorized to revoke the contractually granted rights of use at any time in case of breach of contract by the Licensee.
In case of revocation, the Licensee is obliged to desist all use of the licensed software and to return all reproductions of the
software to ZF at the Licensee's expense, and to delete any Software elements and components on its systems. In this case,
the Licensee will confirm to the Licensor, upon request and in writing, that it has not retained any copies of the Software.
Further rights are reserved.

(6) The Licensee is liable without limitation to ZF for any loss or damage sustained by ZF from use that does not comply with
the contract, pursuant to statutory regulations. In the case of use not compliant with the contract, ZF reserves the right to
suspend the Licensee access to the Software at any time, without advance notice, and without compensation for the loss of
use, and to terminate this license contract without prior notice.
5. Installation of the Object of License
(1) The Licensor will make the Software available to the Licensee in a machine-readable form of the Licensor's choice, either on
a data carrier customary at that time, or via remote data transmission, so that the Licensee may exercise the Rights of Use
conferred herein. The parties agree that the place of performance for the transfer of the Object of License is the Licensor's
place of registration. The Licensee bears all costs and risks associated with the transfer. With the transfer of the Object of
License, the risk of conveyance (in particular the risk of accidental loss or destruction of the copies of the Object of License)
passes to the Licensee.
(2) Licensee is responsible for providing the system environment according to the requirements of the Software.
(3) The Object of License will be installed by the Licensee. Upon the Licensor's request, the Licensee will inform the Licensor in
written form of each installation location of the Object of License. This applies also to any later amendments to the installation
locations.
6. Maintenance, Liability for Material Defects and Deficiencies in Title
(1) Software transferred by ZF in essence corresponds to the product description. Product descriptions are not valid as guarantee
or assurance without separate written agreement. Defect claims concerning updates, upgrades, and the delivery of new
versions are limited to the new features of the update, upgrade, or new version vis-à-vis the hitherto current version.
The Licensor warrants, as per the statutory regulations, unless otherwise agreed in this contract, that the Software is in a
condition suitable for use pursuant to the contract, and that use pursuant to the contract does not infringe the rights of third
parties.

No warranty is assumed in the following cases, in particular: unsuitable or improper use, incorrect installation, or use of
unsuitable operating systems – unless ZF is responsible. If the Licensee or a third party improperly performs subsequent
improvement, ZF cannot be held liable for the resulting consequences therefrom. The same applies for use that contradicts
these conditions or amendments made to the Object of License without the consent of ZF.
(2) If defects within the meaning of § 6 (1) exist, the Licensor will rectify the defects by choosing to either correct the error or
supply an error-free program version or error-free documentation. In respect of direct costs resulting from the subsequent
performance,exclusively the costs for the replacement of the Software – including shipment – will be borne by ZF, provided
that and as far as the complaint is found to be legitimate,.
Further claims, in particular claims pertaining to a reduction in rent pursuant to § 536 BGB (Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch)[German
Civil Code], and claims pertaining to damages and compensation pursuant to § 536a BGB, are excluded.
(3) The prerequisite for a warranty for material defects on the parts of ZF is that the Licensee reports errors, including an exact
error description, in writing or per email within a reasonable time period, and contributes to the rectification of the defect to
the best of its abilities. Defects should be reported in written form as a comprehensible depiction of the error symptoms and,
if possible, proven by written records, hard copies, or other documentation that support visualization of the defects.The notice
of defects should allow reproduction of the error. Statutory obligations for inspection and notification of complaints by the
Licensee remain unaffected.
(4) ZF will support the Licensee in troubleshooting even if it is not certain whether errors lie in the licensed software or the other
ZF supplies and services. If it cannot be demonstrated during troubleshooting that the appearing errors are based on the
licensed software or other ZF supplies and services, ZF is authorized to charge the Licensee for the costs incurred.
(5) If usage of the Object of License results in the infringement of industrial property rights or copyrights of third parties existing
in the Federal Republic of Germany at the time of usage transfer, ZF will obtain, for the Licensee and at ZF's expense, the
right of further use or modify the Object of License in a manner that is reasonable for Licensee and such that the property
rights infringement no longer exists. If this is not possible under economically reasonable conditions or within a reasonable
time period, ZF is authorized to terminate the contract. Given these aforementioned specified prerequisites, the Licensee is
also entitled to terminate the contract. Furthermore, ZF will also indemnify the Licensee against any uncontested or legally

proven claims on the part of the respective property rights holder. The obligations of ZF specified in this paragraph are, subject to the regulations in No. 6 in cases of industrial property rights or copyright infringement, conclusive. They apply only if
a) the Licensee immediately advises ZF of asserted claims of industrial property rights or copyright infringement,
b) the Licensee supports ZF to a reasonable extent in the defense against asserted claims
c) ZF reserves the right to all defensive measures, including out of court settlements,
d) the deficiency in title is not due to instructions issued by the Licensee and
e) the infringement of a right did not result from the Licensee making an unauthorized amendment to the Object of License or
using it in a manner not pursuant to the contract.
(6) The statutory period of limitation for material defects and deficiencies in title amounts to – except in the case of willful intent –
one year, unless longer limitation periods are mandatory prescribed by law.
7. Copyright and Nondisclosure
(1) Licensee acknowledges that ideas contained in the Object of License, as well as information that ZF makes available to the
Licensee in connection with the Object of License, is confidential and protected information and trade secrets of ZF, and that
ZF provides this information and these trade secrets on a confidential basis.
(2) Licensee will restrict disposition of and access to Object of License to the users. The Licensee will undertake all reasonable
measures to protect the Object of License and to guarantee that no person authorized to access the Object of License is able
to breach this contract.
(3) All rights (in particular copyrights, patents, trademark rights, trade secrets, as well as other rights) concerning the Software
(including all error corrections, updates, amendments, modifications, adaptations, expansions, or copies), belong, to the
fullest extent permitted by law in the relationship between the parties to the contract, exclusively to ZF.

8. General Liability
(1) ZF is liable for damage that did not arise on the Object of License itself, for whatever legal reasons, only
a) in case of willful intent
b) in the case of gross negligence on the part of the proprietor/executive bodies or managerial employees
c) in case of negligent or deliberate fatal injury, physical injury, or injury to health,
d) in the case of defects that ZF has fraudulently concealed or the absence of which has been guaranteed by ZF,
e) in case of defects of the Object of License, insofar as liability applies according to product liability law for personal injury or
material damage to privately used objects. In the event of culpable infringement of substantial contractual obligations, ZF is
also liable for gross negligence on the part of non-managerial employees and for ordinary negligence, the latter case being
limited to damage reasonably foreseeable within the context of the contract.
(2) ZF is liable for data loss (except in the case of willful acts) only if the Licensee has periodically performed system tests and
data backups (at least once per day) and only if the data can be reproduced from data stock in machine-readable form at
a reasonable cost. However, the Licensor is liable in this case for data loss only up to the amount which would have been
incurred in the recovery of data that was properly and regularly safeguarded in backups.
(3) Any further claims are excluded.
9. Miscellaneous Provisions
(1) Amendments of and supplements to these license terms and conditions must be in writing. This also applies to amendments
and supplements to this provision requiring written form.
(2) All legal relations between ZF and the Licensee are subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, except for the
reference rules under its provisions relating to German private international law. Application of the "United Nations Convention
on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods" (CISG) is excluded.

(3) The place of performance and place of jurisdiction is Friedrichshafen/Germany, provided that the Licensee is a merchant
within the meaning of the Handelsesetzbuch [German Commercial Code] or the Licensee does not have any registered offices
in the Federal Republic of Germany when legal action is taken.
(4) If this contract is issued in another language version in addition to the German version in German language, the German
version takes precedence in the event of variances.
(5) Should any provision of this contract be or become ineffective or unfeasible, in total or in part, this will not affect the legal
validity of the remaining provisions of this contract. The same applies if and to the extent to which a gap in this contract
should be revealed. In place of the ineffective or unfeasible provision or to fill the gap, a reasonable regulation should apply,
which, if legally possible, most closely approximates or corresponds to what the contracting parties economically desired or
would have desired according to the sense and purpose of this contract if they had taken this matter into account. This applies
also when the ineffectiveness of a provision is based on a scheduled scope of performance or time (deadline or date) specified in this contract; in such cases, the agreed measure of performance or time (deadline or date) is substituted by a measure
that most closely approximates the original intention economically and in a legally permissible manner.

Description
Installation of ZF-TESTMAN software
The ZF-TESTMAN software is available on the delivered DVD and can be installed in only a few steps.
The installation wizard “InstallShield Wizard“ supports the installation of the ZF-TESTMAN program features.
2.1.1 Prerequisite
∙ In order to install the ZF-TESTMAN software on your PC/laptop, you need sufficient administrator rights as well as an active
Internet connection.
∙ For the selected installation directory, you need permanent write access and the right to execute programs (refer to Chapter
2.1.3, Preparing installation).
2.1.2 Preparing the “InstallShield Wizard“
Start SETUP.exe on the DVD.
Select the language for the installation and click “OK“.

If required, software that is needed for ZF-TESTMAN but is

The specified destination folder is created or an already available old
ZF-TESTMAN version is deleted.
The required sub-directories and files are created in the target folder, e.g.
MT1, WebSync, GDS3000, Datalogger, Diagram-Explorer, and Register.
If there is already a ZF-TESTMAN installation, the directory “GDS3000“
(normally in C:\GDS3000) is moved to the selected target folder since there
might be files created by the user in the directory “GDS3000“.
Additionally, the required registrations are executed on the computer and the
corresponding links are created on the desktop and in the start menu.
To complete the installation and to ensure that the latest client is installed,
please synchronize via WebSync (refer to Chapter 2.3, Description of the
ZF-WebSync application).

After completing the installation process, click on the “Finish” button. The newly installed ZF-TESTMAN software is now ready for

Licensing and Registration
The ZF-TESTMAN activation wizard extensively supports you with the activation of the ZF-TESTMAN software license.
Prerequisites for the ZF-TESTMAN software license management are an active Internet connection and sufficient administrator
rights during the license activation. During the activation, you will be requested to register for a user account in the license
management. With the user account, you can manage your user data as well as your licenses.
At the same time, the licensing procedure offers the required security with regard to license management. The users get an
individual view on the ZF-TESTMAN license and software scope and can manage the licenses on their own. Due to the automated generation of the order number for the license extension, the order process is optimized.

Description of the ZF-WebSync application
ZF-WebSync is the online updating tool that enables you to update your diagnostic ZF-TESTMAN software anytime.
The respectively required registration configuration has already been filed with the system. After successful program installation,
you can directly synchronize your data and register with ZF-TESTMAN.
After program start: Please follow the software instructions!
∙ You need broadband Internet access to use the software.
∙ We recommend to perform a synchronization at least once a month.
∙ In accordance with your inhouse IT directive, you might need administrative rights to execute ZF-WebSync.
You find further information in the ZF-TESTMAN main menu
under the item “Help” → “General assistance“ or in the
WebSync main menu under the item “Help”.

2.4.4 DPA05: Connecting programmer tool

Connect COM interface and DPA05 adapter with CAN diagnosis cable or RS232 cable.

Connect ISO or SAE cable to the relevantinterface (ISO 9141 / SAE J1708) on the DPA05 adapter and on the vehicle
electronics.
2.4.5 DPA06: Connecting programmer tool
1. Connect DPA06 to PC via USB cable or Bluetooth (wireless, for settings refer to Chapter 2.4.6, Description of DPA interface).
2. Connect the respective ZF adapter 6008.207.XXX to X1 and connect with the vehicle electronics.

2.4.7 Checking DPA, PC drivers, COM, USB, and Bluetooth interface
Install USB driver for DPA device
The respective driver for DPA05 and DPA06 is automatically set up with the ZF-Testman installation.
At initial startup of DPA via USB, Windows indicates a new hardware which is then automatically installed (requirement:
connecting PC and DPA via USB cable, DPA supplied with 12/24 V operating voltage). With newer operating systems like e.g.
Windows 7, the DPA can then be used.
With older systems, like e.g. Windows XP, the installation wizard "InstallShield Wizard" opens automatically. Follow the instructions of the software and select the "Search and install automatically" option. Then the DPA can be used. If the installation wizard
"InstallShield Wizard" is canceled, the installation can later only be performed via the device manager (Start/Settings/System
Control/System/Hardware/Hardware Assistant).
By clicking on the "Connect" button (10, refer to Chapter 2.4.6) you can check whether the driver was installed correctly.
If this is the case, the current firmware version of the connected DPA device is displayed under "DPA" (2, refer to Chapter 2.4.6).
If new firmware is available (is being updated via ZF-WebSync), it can be updated via the "Update DPA" button (12, refer to
Chapter 2.4.6). If the DPA device contains outdated firmware, this is indicated during the communication setup. In addition, the
DPA05 hardware can be re-programmed on demand.
Re-programming DPA05 hardware image:
1. Connect the DPA05 to the COM interface of your PC.
2. Supply the DPA05 with 12/24 V operating voltage.
3. Click on the "Load DPA" button.

Description
Updating firmware via USB:
1. Connect the DPA to the USB interface of your PC.
2. Supply the DPA with 12/24 V operating voltage.
3. Click on the "Update DPA" button.
Notes for the use of the Bluetooth connection (DPA06 only)
It is also possible to wirelessly communicate with the DPA06 via Bluetooth. Therefore, a Bluetooth device must be available and
installed on the PC. Use the USB Bluetooth adapter included in the delivery. The drivers are set up automatically when installing
the ZF-Testman and installed after plugging the adapter in the USB port of the PC.
Once the Bluetooth hardware is installed and configured correctly on the PC and the Bluetooth support service is started, the
DPA06 can be connected via Bluetooth. Make sure that the DPA06 is within radio range (observe notes).
Connecting Bluetooth:
1. Select Bluetooth as connection type (4, refer to Chapter 2.4.6).
2. Supply the DPA06 with 12/24 V operating voltage.
3. Click on the "refresh" button (7, refer to Chapter 2.4.6). If needed, repeat process until the desired device is displayed on the
"Interface" list box (6, refer to Chapter 2.4.6).
4. Select the respective DPA06 (identification via serial number, refer to type plate on the back of the DPA06)
5. Click on the "Connect" button (10, refer to Chapter 2.4.6) to connect with DPA06.
6. The connection has been successful, if the firmware version is displayed correctly under "DPA" (2, refer to Chapter 2.4.6).

Description
The stability of the Bluetooth connection can be affected by radio interferences, poor radio conditions, covers, etc. Thus,
when conducting long-term measurements (e.g. via datalogger or monitoring), interruptions and data loss can occur.
 Use the USB connection for the flashing of transmission control units!
 Make sure to create favorable radio conditions:
‒ PC and DPA06 within the range of vision.
‒ Short distance between PC and DPA06.
‒ Avoid radio-interference sources such as other Bluetooth, WiFi, or DECT devices, all devices working in the 2.4 or 5 GHz
frequency band, high-voltage cables, faulty energized or signal-carrying cables, metallic barriers, external monitors
and/or LCD displays, etc.
‒ Do not cover neither the DPA06 device nor the Bluetooth adapter at the PC.
‒ Avoid the simultaneous use of several DPA06 devices via Bluetooth right next to each other.
As soon as the DPA06 is supplied with voltage and the Bluetooth adapter is connected to the DPA device, other devices
working in the 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency band may encounter interferences.
 Switch off all devices working in the 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency band or place them out of range.
