Wedding Room
Decorated with a smashing fire place with the arms
of Mr and Mrs Morin, this room is one of the best
of the museum. It’s trimed with 7 tapestries by Aubusson (Flemish inspiration) dating from the 18th
century and coming from the castle of Chanteloup.
You can also look at a splendid blessed virgin statue dating from the 14th century. In the past it
took place in a nook at the beffry. In the end, this
room is decorated with furnitures coming from
the castle of Amboise, dating from Louis Philippe
(1830-1848).

Hochzeitssaal
Dieser Saal ist mit sieben Tapeten (Aubusson)
ausgeschmückt, die aus dem 18 Jh. und dem
Schloss Chanteloup stammen. Der Kamin ist
mit den Initialen und den Wappenzeichen des
Ehemannes Morin verziert. Ebenfalls sieht
man die steinerne Jungfrau aus dem 14. Jh.,
die einstmals unter dem Glockenturm Beffroi
thronte. Das aus dem Schloss Amboise stammende Mobiliar
von Louis Philippe (1830-1848) vervollständigt die Dekoration
des Saales.

You can see the half-lengh portraits of the
differents mayors of Amboise of the 19th
and 20th centuries.

Hier befinden sich die Porträts der Bürgermeister aus dem XIX und XX Jahrhundert.
Municipal Council Room
This room is decorated with some heraldic designs painted in
1891 during the restorings. You can feel the taste for the historical reconstitution understood in the 19th century.

In diesem Saal befinden sich Gegenstände
der Wappenkunst (Wappenzeichen) die
1891 restauriert wurden und die den Stil
aus dem XIX Jh. wiedergeben.

During the French revolution, the monument has been given to the
General Hospice of Tours. The city of Amboise bought it in 1826.
During the reign of Louis Philippe, the guards in charge of the Emir
Abd El-Kader were living in. Then, the city hall of Amboise settled
in this building.

Gebäudes
Pierre Morin, paymaster of the kingdom of France and mayor
of Tours began the construction of this building in 1500. It has
been built in the Renaissance style, following plans of Jacques
Coqueau and Pierre Nepveu, who were the architects of Chambord and Chenonceau. It was ended in 1505 by Françoise Provost, Morin’s widowed.

von Tours, fing im Jahr 1500 nach den Plänen von Jaques Coqueau und Pierre Nepveau und der Architekten der Schlösser
Chambord und Chenonceau mit dem Bau des Gebäudes an.
Seine Witwe Françoise Provost, beendigte den Bau im Jahr
1505.
In 1764, the building was lived in by the Duke of Choiseul,
powerful minister of Louis XV and also governor of Touraine,
who set here his seigniorial justice. Then, this
house was called “Palais Ducal”. In 1786,
it has been owned by the Duke of Penthièvre and then by his daughter the duchess of Orleans.
Das Privathaus ging von Hand zu
Hand. Im Jahre 1764 übernahm der
Herzog von Choiseul, einflussreicher
Minister und Gouverneur aus Tourraine, der das Herzogtum von Louis
XV erhielt, das Gebäude und machte
es zu seinem herrschaflichen Rechtssitz.
Von da ab hieß das Amtshaus „Ducal Palast“. Im Jahre 1786 ging es an den Herzog von
Penthiévre und später an seine Tochter die Herzogin von Orléans über.
Während der Revolution wurde der Ducal Palast beschlagnahmt
und die Konvention stellte es einem Altersheim von Tours zur
Verfùgung, das es bis 1826 der Stadt Amboise vermietete. Dann
wurde die Stadt Amboise Eigentümer des Palastes. Unter der Regierung von Louis Philippe diente das Gebäude als Kaserne, für
die Garnison, die die Aufsicht des Emir Abdel-Kader hatte. 1855
zog die Stadtverwaltung in das Gebäude ein und wurde das Rathaus der Stadt Amboise.
It has been scheduled historical monument in 1880 and its restauration started in 1891. In 1970, the administrative services moved in the modern house designed by
the architect Paul Vitry. Nowadays, this
contruction accommodate a museum
about the history of Amboise and also
some weddings, receptions and the Municipal council.
Das alte Rathaus, der ehemalige Wohnsitz von Pierre Morin, dient als Museum
für die Geschichte Amboise. Hier finden
auch die Empfangsfeierlichkeiten, Hochzeiten und die öffentlichen
Sitzungen der Stadtverordnetenversammlung statt.

Leonardo da Vinci’s Room
This room sanctifies this genious Florentine
artist who died at the Clos Lucé in 1519. You
can see the legend of Leonardo’s death in
the arms of François I with the painting by
François-Guillaume Ménageot. This work
was admired by Diderot in 1781 for the expression of the figures and also for the beautilul colors.
Saal Leonardo da Vinci
Dieser Saal ist dem florentinischen Artisten Leonardo da Vinci gewidmet, der sich am 2. Mai in seinem Haus „Clos Luce"
zurückzog. Die Legende des Todes von Leonardo da Vinci, in
den Armen von François I, wird durch das Gemälde von François-Guillaume Ménageot illustriert. Die Komposition, Ausstrahlung und die Farbharmonie der Persönlichkeiten, wurde von
Diderot 1781 bewundert.

After the corridor, you can see 2 splendid paintings. The view
of Amboise by Justin Ouvrié
(1847) with the boats sailing
on the Loire and the surprising night view by Auguste
Regnier witnessing a romantic vision of Amboise.

In der Vorhalle, befinden sich
die Kunswerke: La Vue d’Amboise von Justin Ouvrié (1847) und „La Vue Nocturne" von Auguste Regnier.
Kings of France's Room
Säle
In this small room, you can see a portrait of
the Duke of Choiseul and a gouache of his
castle of Chanteloup which he wanted to be a
small Versailles.
