1. Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft
Mindest-Lebenshaltungskosten bei 1,67 Mio. Won:
Das koreanische Gesundheits- und Sozialministerium hat die Mindest-Lebenshaltungskosten für eine
vierköpfige Familie für 2015 im Vergleich zu diesem Jahr um 2,3% auf 1.67 Mio. Won (ca. 1.600 USD) pro
Monat erhöht. Die Mindest-Lebenshaltungskosten sind Kriterien zur Auswahl der Haushalte für die
Grundsicherheit und für die Zahlungen der Sozialleistungen. (Korea Economic Daily, 01. September 2014)
Haushalt wird für 2015 um 5,5% steigen:
Die koreanische Regierung plant, den Haushalt für 2015 gegenüber diesem Jahr um 5,5% auf 375,4 Bill. Won
(rund 370 Mrd. USD) zu erhöhen. Der starke Anstieg des Haushalts ist vor allem auf die wirtschaftliche Politik
zur Konjunkturankurbelung zurückzuführen. (Maeil Business Newspaper, 01. September 2014)
Kooperation zum FTA zwischen Korea und China:
Der koreanische Wirtschaftsverband FKI hat zusammen mit dem chinesischen Wirtschaftsverband am Montag
die neunte koreanisch-chinesische Wirtschaftskonferenz in der chinesischen Stadt Chongging abgehalten und
forderte dabei zum schnellen Abschluss eines Freihandelsabkommens zwischen beiden Ländern auf. Die
Wirtschaftsverbände haben beschlossen, ein Kooperationssystem zum schnellen Abschluss eines
Freihandelsabkommens zwischen beiden Ländern aufzubauen. (Korea Economic Daily, 02. September 2014)
10.000 Won für Treibhausgas von 1 t.:
Die koreanische Regierung hat am Dienstag beschlossen, den Emissionshandel für Treibhausgase wie geplant
ab 2015 einzuführen. Die Grenze der Preise für Treibhausgase von 1 t. soll bei 10.000 Won (ca. 9,8 USD) liegen.
Zudem hat sich die Regierung entschieden, die Einführung der Subventionen für Kfz mit wenigen
Kohlenstoffemissionen zu verschieben. (Korea Economic Daily, 03. September 2014)
Inflationsrate zwei Monate in Folge gesunken:
Die Verbraucherpreise erhöhten sich im August 2014 gegenüber dem Vorjahreszeitraum um 1,4%. Gegenüber
Juli 2014 ging sie dagegen um 0,2 Prozentpunkte zurück. Die Benzinpreise reduzierten sich im August im
Vorjahresvergleich um 5,0%. (Maeil Business Newspaper, 03. September 2014)
Konkurrenzfähigkeit Koreas auf Rang 26 gefallen:
Das World Economic Forum (WEF) veröffentlichte am Mittwoch, dass die Konkurrenzfähigkeit Koreas für 2014
gegenüber dem Vorjahr um eine Stufe auf Rang 26 unter 144 Ländern gefallen ist. Dies ist der niedrigste Stand
seit zehn Jahren auf dem niedrigsten Stand. (Mael Business Newspaper, 04. September 2014)
Errichtung eines Industriegebietes für koreanische Unternehmen:
Das staatliche Wirtschaftsförderungsunternehmen KOTRA plant, ein Industriegebiet für koreanische
Unternehmen in Indien zu errichten. Von dort soll neben dem indischen Markt auch Afrika und der Nahe Osten
versorgt werden. Die gesamte Fläche der Industriezone wird bei eine Mio. m² liegen. (Maeil Business

Zigaretten sollen teurer werden:
Die Zigarettenpreise, die seit 2004 unverändert blieben, werden im nächsten Jahr um 1.000-1.500 Won (0,98 1,47 USD) pro Schachtel erhöht. Zudem sollen die Tabaksteuern an Inflationsrate und Raucherquote gekoppelt
werden, wodurch die Zigarettenpreise jedes Jahr automatisch ansteigen werden. Das Finanzministerium,
Gesundheitsministerium und Verwaltungsministerium haben beschlossen, im nächsten Jahr die
Zigarettenpreise um mindestens 1.000 Won zu erhöhen. Der Gesundheitsminister Moon hat sich bereits dafür
ausgesprochen, dass die Preise der Zigaretten um 2.000 Won (1,96 USD) erhöht werden sollten. Dies war aber
auf Ablehnung der Raucher gestoßen. Daher werden die Zigarettenpreise nur um bis zu 1.500 Won erhöht.

Samsung C&T Corporation: Spatenstich für Bau eines Kraftwerks in Chile
Samsung C&T Corporation hat am letzten Freitag den Bau eines Gas-Kombikraftwerks in der chilenischen
Stadt Mejillones begonnen. Für das Kraftwerk mit einer Leistungskapazität von 517 MW liegen die gesamten
Baukosten bei 580 Mio. USD, die von Korea Exchange Bank finanziert werden. (Maeil Business Newspaper, 01.

Yozma Group: Eine Bill. Won Investitionen in Wagnisunternehmen
Die israelische Venture-Capital-Gesellschaft Yozma Group gab am Montag bekannt, ein Unternehmen in Korea
zu errichten und in den kommenden drei Jahren eine Bill. Won (ca. eine Mrd. USD) Wagniskapital in Korea und
Asien zu investieren. Yozma plant, in ca. 500 koreanische Unternehmen zu investieren. Dadurch könnten
10.000 neue Arbeitsplätze für Jugendliche geschaffen werden. (Korea Economic Daily, 02. September 2014)
Hyundai Rotem: Auftrag für Pressanlagen für Kfz
Hyundai Rotem unterzeichnete am Montag mit dem US-amerikanischen Unternehmen GM erstmals einen
Vertrag zur Lieferung von Pressanlagen für Kfz in Höhe von 52 Mrd. Won (51 Mio. USD). Zusätzlich wird
Hyundai Rotem bis 2016 die Pressanlagen im Wert von 300 Mrd. Won (ca. 296 Mio. USD) an GM liefern.

Hyundai Engineering: Auftrag für Kohlekraftwerk aus Malaysia
Hyundai Engineering erhielt von dem Unternehmen Jimah East Power einen Bauauftrag für Kohlekraftwerke
im Wert von 730 Mio. USD. Hyundai soll zwei Kohlekraftwerke mit jeweils einer Leistungskapazität von 1000
MW in der malaysischen Stadt Port Dickson errichten. An dem Bauprojekt hat Hyundai Engineering einen
Anteil von 90% und Hyundai E&C einen Anteil von 10%. (Korea Economic Daily, 03. September 2014)
BASF: Errichtung eines FuE-Zentrums
Das Chemieunternehmen BASF hat ein FuE-Zentrum für elektronische Materialien in der Provinz Gyeonggi-do
eröffnet. Das Forschungszentrum befindet sich in der Sungkyunkwan Universität in der Stadt Suwon. (Korea

SK Gas: Joint Venture für Propylen
SK Gas wird am 11. September mit dem saudiarabischen Unternehmen APC einen Vertrag zur Errichtung eines
Joint-Ventures für die Produktion von Propylen unterzeichnen. Das Joint-Venture (SK Advanced) mit einem
Kapital von 400 Mrd. Won (ca. 392 Mio. USD) soll am 12. September gegründet werden. An dem Joint-Venture
hat SK Gas einen Anteil von 65% und APC einen Anteil von 35%. (Maeil Business Newspaper, 04. September

Hyundai Motor: 70 Tsd. Autos in den USA abgesetzt
Hyundai Motor erreichte im August gegenüber dem Vorjahr mit einem Anstieg von 5,5% einen neuen
Monatsrekord mit dem Verkauf von 70.003 Autos auf dem US-amerikanischen Markt. Der Verkauf von Kia
Motor verzeichnete ebenfalls einen Anstieg von 5,1% auf 54.467 Autos. (Maeil Business Newspaper, 05.
