PREFACE
Dear guest students from abroad,
I warmly welcome you to the Technical University of Applied
Sciences Wildau. I am very pleased that you have decided to study
at our university.
I am sure that you will quickly settle in here and be successful in your
studies. We offer excellent opportunities – as a modern campus
university located in a traditional engineering town. Our university
is not too large, and the personal atmosphere, our excellent equipment and labs, our computer, internet and library facilities all provide the best conditions for your studies and future careers.
On our campus research and learning and life and learning are all
closely combined. I hope that you will play an active part in campus
life during your stay in Wildau. One of our key aims is to continue
consolidating and expanding our international contacts and activities, and all our guest students have a key role to play.
This brochure is your guide to finding your way around the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau. Here you will find information on residence and work conditions for foreign students,
information on official procedures, tips and advice on accommodation, health insurance and much more.
Living abroad always involves surprises and opportunities, but it
is not always easy to get used to new and unusual ways of life. This
brochure contains the names and contact details of people who can
help you whenever you have questions or experience difficulties.
I would like to encourage you to study hard, and also to gain broader
cultural experience. Getting to know Germany and its people and
taking an interest in the culture of our region should be an important part of your stay abroad.
I wish you all the best and every success at our university.

In 1991 the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau was
founded as a public institution under the auspices of the federal
state of Brandenburg. On October 22, 1991, the new university
came into being on the campus of the former school of engineering. The first students to enroll were 33 students of mechanical engineering in the winter semester of 1991/1992. In addition to this
traditional discipline in engineering the university today also offers
degrees in business administration, business computing, European
management, business and law, administration and law, biosystems
