Genova as its technical partner for the 52nd International Boat Show: Ingemar's piers and floating walkways have formed the exhibitition framework for
several years at this the most important Italian boat
show.
As further testimony to their dedication in devloping
Italian yacht harbour structures, Ingemar has again published, in collaboration with Il Giornale della Vela
e Barche a Motore, this 2012 brochure on Italian
Ports and Marinas for both visitors to the show and
all yachting enthusiasts.
Compared to the last version of the brochure, this one
offers a more complete panorama of Italian ports and
their services, together with the profiles of nearly 100
tourist harbours which make up Italy's principal yachting resources.
We are convinced that you too share the same passion
for the sea and for our splendid coastlines. We would
also like to add our fervent wishes that the Italian sailing industry, a stronghold of our economy in the past,
will again receive the well deserved attention and acknowledgement which are the results of a long and ancient maritime tradition and the Made in Italy
trademark of quality.

Ingemar in Jordan
Ingemar participates in the development of Ayla and its new luxury marina
A new prestigious residential tourist centre is being developed at Aqaba on the
Red Sea: Ingemar will be responsible for
the design and construction of floating
structures for the new Marina.
The Ayla Oasis Development Company is
developing a new residential tourist resort
at Aqaba in Sourthern Jordan which will
radically transform the region.
This huge project, whose objective is to
offer a high profile alternative to other
Red Sea destinations such as Sharm el
Sheik and Hurgada, will cover an overall
area of approximately 460 hectares overlooking the Gulf of Aqaba and is surrounded by two mountain ranges which
connect the Gulf of Aqaba to the Dead
Sea. The new complex will feature a series
of lagoons and artificial islands, 5 luxury
hotels of 90 to 600 beds, 3,000 residential
units, an 18-hole golf course designed by
Greg Norman (the famous golfer and
golf course architect), a 9-hole course, a
tourist port with multiple private moorings, as well as large commercial units
and entertainment and recreational facilities.
Many of the new residences and hotels
will have private moorings and independent access to the Marina (a tidal lagoon)
and other units will overlook two upper lagoons (the Upper and Middle Lagoon)
with white sandy beaches to be used exclusively for swimming and recreation but
with no motor-boat access. Ingemar's role,
for Società Italiana per Condotte d'Acqua
SpA, which won the civil and electomechanical works, will be crucial for the 31
hectares of the tidal lagoon which flows
directly into the Gulf of Aqaba: water from
the two upper lagoons (the Upper and
Middle lagoons), which cover approximately 53 hectares, will be fed by a system of
pumps and lifting apparatus, pumping
water directly from the Gulf of Aqaba at
about 10 cu mts per second.
Having terminated the final shop drawings, Ingemar is currently programming
construction of the pontoons, fingers
and equipment for the marina, all of
which constitute the principal landings for
the Ayla Project.
The floating structures, with an overall
surface area of more than 7,000 sq mts and
extending for approximately 3 kms, will be
of aluminium alloy supported by unsinkable floating units in concrete and expanded polystyrene, finishings in eco-friendly
exotic hardwood, all anchored to the lagoon bed by fixed pilings.
The project includes a wide range of floating structures differentiated according to
their position in the Marina and their specific functions. The west zone, close to the
Marina's entrance, will accommodate a
floating service platform for fuel pumps
and the waste pumpout system. On the
stretch of water to the south, between the
residences, there will be 3 mt wide pontoons with three floating fingers of between
12 and 20 mt lengths and 1.5 mt or 2 mt
widths, with or without mooring poles.
The pontoons will be custom-made and
modeled so as to follow the horseshoeshaped design and inserted within the
available spaces. The storage depot and
motor boats will be housed in the southeast zone and will include a small workshop for repairs. The pontoons will have
no fingers but will be equipped with 4
floaters to ensure stability and comfort.
Continuing anti-clockwise there will be
the first zone for med-moorings equipped
with 2.5 mt wide continuous pontoons
and with bollard and chain mooring systems. The northeast zone will have the
greatest number and longest fingers made
up of 3 mt pontoons equipped with four
floating elements and fingers up to 20 mts.
The pontoons in the northern zone complete the project and will in part be installed during the second phase of work: these
comprise pontoons and fingers for mooring craft of up to 40 mts in length. Access to the pontoons will be along
walkways in aluminium and up to 24 mts
in length: this will eliminate barriers and
provide a comfortable incline allowing
easy passage for pedestrians. The design
and construction of the pontoons meets
the highly demanding contractual specifications from the point of view of weightbearing loads, their combinations and
quality of the finishings. The diversity of
construction solutions respects the specific requirements according to the great variety of applications within the Marina.
The first of these huge areas, called "Marina Village", will be completed by 2014
and will include approximately 250 residences, a super-luxury hotel, retail and
commercial units. The next area to be developed, named the "Arabian Venice",
will have all the characteristics of a true
"Venetian Arabia".
The area around the Ayla Project is famous for its spectacular coral reefs typical
of the Red Sea, as well as its vicinity to the
awe-inspiring city of Petra and the archaeological sites of Tal Khalifeh, an
Iron Age settlement also mentioned in the
Sacred Scriptures.
The project, with an overall estimated cost
of US$ 1.2 bn, is being promoted by the
Ayla Oasis Development Co. (Ayla) and
the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
The excavation of the lagoons resulted in
moving approximately 9,5 million cu mts
of earth which has been used to create the
elevations of Ayla Heights and the golf
courses behind. The site is entirely supervised by the Ayla Oasis Development Co.,
formed by the Saudi investment group
ASTRA, a holding company with diversified interests in commerce, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, building and
construction as well as vast experience in
tourism, with important shareholders of
the investment company ZARA Holdings
(ZARA), the largest Jordanian tourist investment company.
From the Mediterranean to the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf, the
application of floating pontoons is increasingly numerous
In Greece, Monaco, Turkey, Croatia, Montenegro, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, Ingemar's floating modules are also widespread. Apart from the enormous Ayla Marina in Jordan (see article) Ingemar is present throughout the Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf with their floating moorings
for yachts.
ITALY Work at the great tourist port Marina del Gargano at Manfredonia will be finished by next April;
at Venice, in the heart of the Serenissima, the Marina of Sant'Elena is nearly operational;
MONTE CARLO In the Principality of Monaco installation of new floating elements in reinforced concrete of the all-concrete type is in its final stages, completing reconstruction of the old pontoons in
the western section of Port'Ercule;
CROATIA Enlargement of Marina Kornati at Biograd and new installations for yachting associations
and private operators at Split and Lussino;
MONTENEGRO More berths for Porto Montenegro at Tivat. Floating pontoons in the super yacht
basin and fixed and floating piers along the shoreline;
GREECE On the island of Salamis installation is completed and work starts on the installation of pontoons at Zea Marina, Piraeus;
TURKEY Installation begins of maxi floating breakwaters in reinforced concrete, 6 mts wide and 280
linear mts, for D. Marine at Port Gocek near to Fethiye;
KUWAIT Work on restructuring and enlarging Khiran Marina, the country's main tourist port 100 kms
south of Kuwait City, will be finished by year end;
SAUDI ARABIA Two floating landings are being constructed for the Saudi Coast Guard - one on the
Persian Gulf and one on the Red Sea;

Floating pontoons made in Italy
From La Spezia to Imperia the yacht sector counters the crisis
enoa, La Spezia, Loano and
Imperia are just some of the
prestigious ports in north-western Italy embracing Ingemar's floating
pontoons. If new tourist ports under
construction struggle to take off, in reality they are more likely to attract an enthusiastic clientèle looking for top
quality if the intiative is motivated by renovating and upgrading the existing resources. Floating pontoons offer a
simple, modern and reliable solution
which are more often adopted by small
sporting associations rather than more
important marinas.
Amid the many projects under construction, those along the Ligurian coastline
are especially numerous: following completion of the prestigious Marina di
Loano with over 1,000 berths, Porto
Maurizio, San Lorenzo and La Spezia,
Ingemar continues operations to renew
and enlarge yachting harbours right up
to the nearby Principality of Monaco.

PORTO ANTICO DI GENOVA
Work on enlarging and rearranging the
floating moorings in the historic basin
between Ponte Spinola and Calata
Cattaneo have recently been completed.
The work included installation of new
floating pontoons for yachts as well as
special structures along the wharf to
moor ferries: the new outlay will ensure
greater receptive capacity and improve
management by the ports' operators. Of
particular interest are the pontoon anchorage systems, diversified according to
specific requirements, which include vertical beams along the quays and pilings
fixed to reinforced concrete plynths within the port. The work also included refurbishment of the service installations
and service terminals along the piers.
MARINA GENOVA AEROPORTO
Ingemar has created new moorings on
floating pontoons with steel frames and
walkways in exotic hardwoods for the
airports' marina, close to new residential
buildings, thus completing the structures installed over the last few years.

transformed with better arrangements
for the numerous yachts, which were
previously moored to buoys, and more
rational moorings in the delightful
Golfo dei Poeti.
Today the flourishing refitting activities
of large yachts at the Cantiere Valdettaro coexists alongside beautiful vintage
yachts moored on the opposite side,
while the harbour is mainly organised
and equipped with floating pontoons for
the use of local yacht clubs and the local
administration.

At the America's Cup too:
floating pontoons are much better
taly is the sector's leader for floating pontoons which have also been used
at the Italian leg of the America's Cup. The system of floating pontoons is
increasingly widespread and both modern marinas and small traditional
ports make great use of them since they are not intrusive, are secure, longlived,
efficient and movable according to harbour requirements for altering moorings.
In the last few years thanks to Ingemar's floating pontoons, large tourist marinas
and small ports have been created, both in Italy and abroad, with the shared
virtue of having low negative impact on the exchange of water, surrounding
coastlines and the environment. Over time their flexibility has resulted in varied

and diverse applications, from yachting to both tourist and commercial maritime
traffic, from industrial installations to sporting events. In 2012, following the
experience acquired at the yachting events for the Athens Olympics and the
Louis Vuitton Cup in Sicily, Ingemar was again involved in regattas assisting the
main organisers of worldwide sailing events for both the Italian legs of the
America's Cup, installing approximately 500 mts of their floating modules
opposite the Naples waterfront and within the historic basin of the Arsenale of
Venice.
At both Naples and Venice regattas were held of flotillas, match races and speed
trials on the demanding AC45s and fixed sail catamarans: in both events
Ingemar's floating pontoons made up the 'base camps' for the catamarans and
the regatta's service vessels.

Ingemar: over 30 years
of building on water
For more than 30 years Ingemar has been in the business of creating structures on water for the yachting industry and specialist
facilities for the industrial, transport and recreational sectors.
The company's head office and administration are located in
Milan while production, technical and commercial work takes
place in their own factory at Casale sul Silo near Treviso.
Ingemar employs roughly 35 people full time; both management
and many key personnel have worked as a team for more than 20
years, testimony of constant attention to people and their capabilities. The company has all the necessary resources at its disposal for its technical, operational and research and
development activities; laboratory testing of floating elements
has for many years been carried out in collaboration between Ingemar and the IMAGE institute of the University of Padua.
Ingemar builds its most significant components directly in the
factory at Casale, with 2,000 sq mts indoors and 4,000 sq mts
of logistics and production space, and collaborates with distributors and selected partners to supply specialist elements. The
company has always preferred direct contact with their clients,
using external colleagues who, both in Italy and abroad, carry
out commercial operations in collaboration with the company
management. Ability and versatility of dedicated design has allowed Ingemar to increase its range of structures for the yachting
sector to floating pontoons, jetties and prefabricated fixed pontoons and floating piers for super yachts. Production of standard
elements has always been carried out alongside special made-tomeasure structures, even for clients outside the marine sector.
Expertise has been ammassed in the construction of floating
platforms for exhibition, recreational and industrial purposes,
bridges and floating crossings, floating pumping stations, landings for naval and commercial vessels. Ingemar is often the
main contractor, a distinctive and important role allowing the
company to carry out important turnkey operations complete
with anchorage and mooring systems, service facilities for berths
and complementary fixtures. The company is associated with
UNINDUSTRIA and U.C.I.NA., and its technical managers
are all members of A.I.P.C.N..
Ingemar is the holder of quality certifications (ISO 9001: 2008
for design, construction and installation of pontoons, floating
breakwaters and fixed piers) and holds the SOA certificate to
carry out public works (category OG7 class VII for amounts up
to 15 million Euros and the category OS 18 class III for amounts

in Italy, HRS in Greece and HRB in Croatia).
Ingemar is always present at the most important yachting events
and boat shows: in particular they are the supplier and technical
sponsor for both the Genoa and Venice Boat Shows, as well as
the yacht races of the Livorno Naval Academy for the T.A.N.
trophy and the Gargano and Manfredonia regattas. Ingemar's pontoons were chosen for the yachting and rowing regattas at
the 2004 Athens Olympics and for the Italian legs of the
2012 America's Cup at Naples and Venice.
Ingemar's most prominent constructions in Italy are: Tourist
Port at Loano, Marina at Castellammare di Stabia, Genova Porto
Antico, Porto Mirabello at La Spezia, Marina at Villasimius, Tourist Port at Jesolo, Porto San Rocco at Mugia, Ports of Trani, Bisceglie and Taranto, Ormeggi Terre Rosse at Piombino, Marina
della Cala at Palermo, Porto di Palau, Marina Piccola at Cagliari,
Porto and Marina at Lacco Ameno and Ischia, Marina Cala de'
Medici at Rosignano Solvay (Livorno), Club Nautico Marina di
Carrara. Currently under construction are work for the new Marina Santelena at Venice, Marina di Diamante in Calabria and
Marina del Gargano at Manfredonia.
Significant international appointments: Marinas of Gouvià and
Lefkas in Greece, Regional Port of Locarno in Switzerland, Jasmine Marina at Hammamet in Tunisia, Marina Novi Grad and
Marina Kastela in Croatia, Khiran Marina in Kuwait, Porto
Montenegro in Montenegro, Port Stora in Algeria and Marina
Andalous at Tripoli in Libya. Under construction are work for
the new Ayla Marina at Aqaba in Jordan, Port'Ercule at Montecarlo and Port Gocek in Turkey.
The following are some of their specialist structures: the floating bridge for the Feast of the Redeemer at Venice, floating
piers for the Kuwaiti Coast Guard, floating pavilions for the
Biennale at Venice, floating headquarters for the Reale Circolo Canottieri Tevere Remo and the yacht centre I.U.S.M. in
Rome and the Ravenna Yacht Club, floating platforms for catering at Trani (Bari) and Santa Margherita Ligure, floating crossing at Vigonovo, a bathing platform at Genova Porto Antico
and the floating service centres at La Spezia and Locarno.
