WHY COLOMBIA?
• Because Colombia is a country filled of contrasts, comprised by 5 regions
that have different cultures and traditions.
• Because every corner of the Colombian territory offers a beautiful landscape:
Caribbean beaches on the north, incredible sunsets on the eastern plains,
the maritim richness of the pacific ocean and the green Amazon forests in
the south of the country.
• Because there are regions that still follow historical traditions in music,
food, history, arts which are still passed on from generation to generation.
BECAUSE COLOMBIA CAN SATISFY EVERY TASTE:
• Agro-tourism: Climatic variety has provided Colombia with a great diversity
in products. A great part of the economy is based on agro-tourism. The
coffee area offers the most beautiful landscapes, hospitable people with a
culture and lifestyle worth exploring.
• Sports and adventure: Thanks to its geographical position and topography,
Colombia has a perfect environment for the practice of adventure tourism
and extreme sports.
• History and Culture: Tourists can experience an adventure by approaching
the pre-Colombian past, learning all about the colonial period, the history
of the missions and the influence of the Spanish Monarchy over the country.
Colombia is a cultural destination. With events such as: Bogotá Book Capital
of the World 2007, music festivals seasons and the Theater Festival.
• Sun and Beach: Colombia is the only country in South America with coasts
on two oceans, with exuberant landscapes and beautiful beaches.

Cartagena

W
ithout a doubt, Cartagena de Indias is one
of the most beautiful cities of the Caribbean
and one of the favorite destination for
conventions and congresses, thanks to its agreeable
tropical weather, its passionate historical legacy,
the happiness and hospitability of its people and its
active modern life style, this city provides one of the
most complete hotel and service infrastructures in the
country.
Given its privileged location in a pleasant Caribbean
bay, from its origins, the city has been considered as
one of the main ports of the continent. The stalking
of pirates and buccaneers forced the Spanish crown
into building the most spectacular defense system
in America, with fortresses and walls still remaining
today, along with its squares, streets, temples and
large houses with beautiful balconies, all of which
have granted the city enough merit to be the recipient
of the UNESCO category of Historical and Cultural
Patrimony of Humanity.
Cartagena has become one of the main gathering
locations for artists and intellectuals who, seduced by
the old city’s enchantment and joyful nights, spend
unforgettable periods in the city. Alongside this
colonial jewel, lies a modern and dynamic city with
comfortable hotels, shops, restaurants and nightclubs
that offer the visitor the best of services.
True tropical paradises surround Cartagena, soft
beaches with palm trees, such as the island of Barú
and an area of small islands filled with mangrove
swamps and coral reefs: the Rosario Island
