CULTURAL ACTIVITIES/INTERNATIONAL CLUB Each month, Nebrija University offers a wide range of interesting cultural activities, as the ideal complement to the in-class academic activity. As an international student, you will be kept to date on these activities. Many of these activities are organised by the International Club, thus combining cultural and leisure activities alike. The club’s mission is to promote and stimulate cultural exchange among students of different nationalities. For this purpose, a wide range of activities are organised, in which both foreign and Spanish students are encouraged to participate. Such activities include the following: language exchange, trips, meetings, parties, dinners, etc. SPORT ACTIVITIES The main goal of the Physical Activity and Sport Service (Servicio de Actividad Fisica y Deporte) is to encourage students, teaching and administrative staff to play sports. Membership to the Sport Club entitles you to free use of the Sports Centre facilities (tennis, basketball, football and volleyball) of the Campus of La Berzosa. David de la Fuente ([email protected]) in the Sport Club’s director. VISA INFROMATION Students are responsible for extending their visa. The International Student Office phone number is 902 565 701 (from 9 to 18 hrs, Monday to Friday). In order to process the student card application, you need to make an appointment. In order for international students to be legally documented, they need to apply for the student card, thus automatcally extending their visa. Students who have a three-month visa should apply for a nonresidence permit, if their visa expires before their departure from the country. This permit allows students to legally remain in the country, until the end of the course. IMPORTANT The student card is only valid for Legally documented students in Spain. A police certificate does not necessarily guarantee that the student can travel without problems. Students coming from the USA, Canada, Mexico and Brazil can easily obtain a Tourist Visa, valid for 90 days. Even after their visa has expired, those students do not usually have problems getting into Spain. On the other hand, countries whose citizens often face such problems include Russia, Cuba, Colombia, Peru and African countries.
