Letter from the President of SEASOFT SCUBA
Nobody likes to move, it’s always hard and forces you to get rid of stuff you have had for way too long.
SEASOFT SCUBA had been in Auburn, WA for more than 22 years and we needed a newer, more modern facility and
we found that in our new digs in Olympia, WA.
Now we have a new, up-to-date facility with air conditioning, good lighting, great shelving and the best employees!
Why did we go to all this effort?
Because we are passionate about what we do!
We have been making, engineering, innovating, creating, testing and diving SEASOFT Dive Gear for 31 years now. We
still love diving and most of us here at SEASOFT SCUBA are divers! We are not - go on a trip; once a year; warm-water
divers. No, we are put on your drysuit; don’t care how cold it is outside or underwater; get in the water any time of year
kind of divers.
In that spirit we have several new products this year and we hope you find a SEASOFT product that makes your diving
better; warmer; safer; a more enjoyable experience for you! It certainly does for us.
We want to thank each of our customers and dealers for supporting us, your devotion to SEASOFT products is so

The SEASOFT Ti 3000™ (3.5 mm) and Ti 5000™ (5 mm) drysuits are our best
compressed neoprene suits.

All silicone grease is not created equal.
Silicone grease is a combination of silicone oil, polydimethylsiloxane, and
a thickener. To camera manufacturers and dive manufacturers in the know,
the best thickener is amorphous fumed silica. When NOT mixed with other
inexpensive additives you get the best, pure silicone grease. SEASOFT’s
ABSI-LUBE™ is made using only amorphous fumed silica and nothing else.
SEASOFT’s ABSI-LUBE™ Pure Silicone Grease is engineered and manufactured
to the highest standards. It is EXACTLY the same pure silicone grease used
by NASA. ABSI-LUBE™ Pure Silicone Grease is perfect for O-ring lubrication
and protection, diving regulator re-builds and servicing, high-quality camera
equipment and anywhere a high quality silicone lubricant is needed.
Camera gear needs a silicone grease of uncompromised, superior quality.
The O-rings and other sensitive parts need to be able to absorb the grease
for longevity and protection. It needs to be absorbed so that the rubber
(etc.) releases the silicone grease back to the surface of the gasket (etc.) as
“washout” takes place. Lesser silicones do not absorb sufficiently, so they can’t
release silicone back to the surface, this is why you see gasket and O-ring
shrinkage. Make sure you are using the very best on your camera gear.
ABSI-LUBE™ Pure Silicone Grease also acts as a corrosion-inhibitor and it can
be used on both rubber and stainless steel parts. ABSI-LUBE™ is a food grade
silicone, which means that in small quantities it will not harm an individual if
ingested, but will simply pass through the digestive tract.

is absorbed and you can tell by putting a tiny dab on your palm and rubbing it

longer to absorb.”

You know that you have several choices for waxing your brass or other
outdoor gear zippers.
1. Paraffin wax – a petroleum based wax, this is what is left after you take
out the oil. Paraffin is brittle and hard, especially in the cold. It flakes and
loses much of its lubrication properties when temperatures drop.
2. Synthetic wax lubricants – a mixture of paraffin, oils and fillers.
Synthetic waxes are much softer and pick up sand and other debris; this

SEASOFT ANKLE WEIGHTS™ are popular with drysuit divers to offset the
air inside the legs of drysuits. But there’s more! With the advent of weight
integrated BCs and steel tanks, the upper body of most divers will tend to
dive lower than the legs. This produces hydro-drag. When you wear ankle
weights you transfer some of this weight to the lower body. This helps bring
the legs into alignment and assists in eliminating unnecessary hydro-drag.
Women, who are often short-waisted, will have their weights located higher
than men. Because of this, their diving alignment is out of balance and ankle
weights are even more important as a tool to correct this imbalance. Water
is 800 times more dense than air so hydro-drag can seriously cost you in
speed, air consumption, fatigue and bottom time. Don’t let it slow you down!

1. Your diving position is important to good diving skills; horizontal with
a slightly legs up attitude is correct. Some divers have their legs too high

your body as a teeter-totter, if most of the weight is at one end, the other end
