NEW BFLF SEASON AT SSC
RYE | Parents can discover the wonders of
nature with their preschoolers by taking part in
the Seacoast Science Center’s Big Fish, Little Fish
(BFLF) program. Registration is now open for
BFLF, which begins on October 31 and November 1-3, meeting once a week for six weeks. Conducted at the SSC at Odiorne Point in Rye, BFLF
is organized by the age of the participating child.
Sign up for Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays
(ages 18 months to 3-1/2 years) from 10-11:30
a.m., or Fridays (ages 3-1/2 to 5) from 12:30-2
p.m. BFLF teaches young children (and their
favorite adult) about the natural environment
through guided exploration and hands-on discovery. During this session, participants will
explore the “Winter Woodlands of Odiorne.” The
cost per child is $91 for members, or $114 for nonmembers. Those who become members when
they register for BFLF can take advantage of program discounts (and more) right away. For daily

PORTSMOUTH | What happens when five
dancers from a major ballet company bring their
parents to an audition? Someone gets murdered!
But who?
The suspects? Two aging ballerinas, far past
their prime, want their old glory back; one father
thinks his daughter is better than the rest; a costume designer who is tired of listening to dancers
complain about wardrobe; and an artistic director, who is simply looking for revenge.
Come and enjoy an evening of ballet, murder
and pathos in this hilarious presentation of
“Death On Pointe.” This fundraiser event will
take place on Sunday, October 8 at 7 p.m. at the
beautiful Three Chimneys Inn, located at 17
Newmarket Road in Durham.
All proceeds raised at the event will benefit
Ballet New England, a not-for-profit ballet company and school.
Tickets are $49.95 each, and includes a fourcourse dinner and performance. Gratuities and
beverages are not included.
The menu for the evening features roast butternut squash soup, Three Chimneys Inn house
salad, marinated grilled Statler chicken breast
with spinach and garlic raviolis, roasted red
pesto sauce and garden vegetables, and chocolate
mousse with fresh raspberries topped with a dollop of whipped cream.
Seating is limited and advanced reservations
are required. For more information or to make
reservations, call Ballet New England at (603)
430-9309 or contact Executive Director, Martha
Lemire at Martha@ balletnew england.org.

HAMPTON | Aquarion
Water Company announced
in its recently-released
August water supply update
that it will begin fire hydrant
flushing on Sunday, September 17.
The process will occur
from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily,
and will continue until the
remainder of the system is
flushed. Flushing will start
in the town of Rye and
progress toward Hampton
Beach, although the sched-
ule is subject to change.
According to Aquarion
officials who released the
report, “Flushing allows us
to eliminate or expel sediments and/ or other solids
that might collect in the
water main” and will
improve water quality and
fire flows.
Aquarion advised that
“there may be some temporary incidents of discolored,
brownish tap water,” and
noted that if this does occur,
customers should run the
cold water tap until it clears
