Men’s Prayer Breakfast
“A day hemmed in prayer, is less likely to unravel!"
~ Author Unknown
The youth's beginners class for Knitting & Crochet, Summer 2014 was a huge success. We all celebrated the last day with a party and all students were attending
and receiving their Certificate of Completion. The parents attended as well as our invited guest Pastor Ricky. Teachers, Linda Anderson, Shirley Spearow and Linda Margrave all enjoyed teaching
the children, who ranged from 5 yrs. to 11yrs. of age, so much so that they intend to continue with
the summer program next year. Here are some of the pictures taken.
The monthly Prayer shawl meetings have been postponed until further notice. If you are in
need of a prayer shawl please call due to the youth crochet/knitting class. For more information,

Pastors Quote
“The moon moves slowly, but it crosses the town.”
July was a busy month for the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group. They
mailed out ninety –three greeting cards. Each card personally signed and
each recipient prayed for. This Group meets every Tuesday morning at
10am in the Church’s Choir Room. All denominations are welcome and
encourage to attend. Share your time blessing and comforting those who are
celebrating a mile stone, grieving the loss of a loved one, suffering from an
illness, or working through a difficult time. The simplest of gestures can make the biggest
difference.
Those wishing to add a person to the prayer list may fill out a request card during
Sunday worship, or email Julisa by 8:30am at [email protected]. Include the recipients
mailing address if you would like a card mailed.

Pastor’s Joke
The monthly Senior’s Game Night participants have voted to
move the meeting day from Fridays to Saturdays. Same “bat
time”, same “bat cave”, different “bat channel”. Ken and Sharon
Corley are hosting September’s Game Night on Saturday the
20th at 6pm. Come enjoy an evening of fellowship, food, and
games. Please bring a snack to share. You are welcome and
encouraged to invite a friend.
Cajun Ministers
Reverend Boudreaux was the pastor of the local Cajun Baptist
Church and Pastor Thibodeaux was the minister of the Covenant Church
across the road. They were together standing by the road, admiring their
work in putting a new sign up that read,
“Da End Is Near. Turn Yo Sef 'Roun Now Afore It Be Too Late!”
As a car sped past, the driver leaned out his window and yelled,
,
“You religious nuts!”
:
From the curve, they heard screeching tires, and a big splash. .
Boudreaux turned to Thibodeaux and asks-
“Do ya tink maybe da sign should jus say ...’Bridge Out’?"
