A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL TO THE CLASS OF 2012 :
MOVE FORWARD TO SUCCESS
Thomas Clary, Principal
On Friday, June 1, 2012, the Keystone High School Class of 2012 is graduating and moving on to the many challenges
facing them in the world after high school. How each graduate meets these challenges will dictate his/her future
success. There are two quotes that are especially relevant for our graduates to remember as they face the future. One
is “If you really want to do something positive, you will find a way; if you don’t, you will find an excuse.” Let there
be no excuses, ever, as you move on to be the most accomplished person you can be. The other pertinent phrase that
will help students in their future endeavors was stated by former British Prime Minister David Lloyd George. George
said, “Don’t be afraid to take a big step if one is needed. You can’t cross a chasm in two small jumps.” We know
our graduates will take every opportunity to make their mark on this world and successfully take on the next big
step in their lives.
From the staff at Keystone High School, we wish all of our graduates the best. We have tried to instill in each the
knowledge, attitude and desire to make the most of future opportunities. We encourage them to take the “big step”
and “find a way,” and success will follow.
Honor Societies &
Important Academic Programs
National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization that recognizes and encourages academic
achievement and community involvement. Leadership, service, character and scholarship are the four pillars by
which this society is founded.
“NHS has not only nurtured me academically, but the society has also opened
my eyes to the difference one can make by volunteering in the community.”
- Janell Roeper
Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEO) offers students the
opportunity to earn college credit while attending high school. In partnership with Lorain County Community
College and Bowling Green State University, this program helps students get an advanced start in college and
saves the money spent on university coursework.
“The PSEO program was excellent for me because it allowed me to learn
outside of the high school walls and earn credits for college at no cost.”
- Michael Peachock
Teacher Education Exploration Program (TEE) is designed for high school seniors
interested in pursuing a college degree in education. This program provides aspiring teachers with an
opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the school environment.
“The TEE program was a great experience, and I feel that it has really prepared
me for my future career in education. It is an asset to any aspiring teacher.”
- Taylor Ford
Lorain County Joint Vocational School (JVS) offers quality career-technical programs
for students from Keystone Schools. Students receive individualized, hands-on learning experiences in over 25
programs in a state-of-the-art facility.
1
“JVS taught me the skills I need to suceed in the current job market through
hands-on learning and through the dedication of my hard-working teachers.”
