Scarf measures 14 cm [5½”] x 175.5 cm [69”] Special Techniques Knit cast-on = (casting on stitches at the beginning of a row) Start with slip knot or existing stitches. Knit 1 new stitch, but do not slide old stitch off left-hand needle. Insert lefthand needle under and into new loop on righthand needle, slip stitch off right-hand needle – 1 stitch cast on. Rows 2, 4, 6, 8, 10: [K1, p1] twice, p8, [p1, k1] twice. Row 9: [K1, p1] twice, 4/4 RC, [p1, k1] twice. Repeat these 10 rows for Cable Pattern. SCARF Using knit cast-on, cast on 13 sts. Work Seed Stitch for 3 rows. Increase row (Wrong Side): [K1, p1] twice, [p1, M1P] twice, p2, M1P, p1, [p1, k1] twice – 16 sts. Work 10-row Cable Pattern until Scarf measures 173 cm [68”], end on Row 4. Decrease row (Right Side): [K1, p1] twice, k2tog, p1, k2tog, p2tog, k1, [p1, k1] twice – 13 sts. Work Seed Stitch for 3 rows. Cast off in pattern. Weave in ends.
